Dumpling

Listen, I've got to tell you about this spot in Addison called Dumpling. If you're anything like me and appreciate genuinely fresh, clean, and utterly delicious Asian food, you're going to be obsessed. I mean it, obsessed. I just had to share it because it’s quickly become one of my absolute favorites.

Let's talk food first, because that's where the magic truly begins. You absolutely have to get the pork chops – they’re immaculate, especially when paired with their really great fried rice. I usually go for the beef fried rice myself, but I’ve heard amazing things about the pork chop fried rice, a fantastic recommendation from someone named Brian. For starters, the popcorn chicken is a winner, and yes, they have fantastic shumai too. But since it’s called Dumpling, you know the star of the show has to be their namesake. The chicken dumplings are exceptional, and if you’re into wontons, the pork and shrimp wontons with a side of chili oil are exactly what you'd want. And on a colder day, their noodles, especially the spicy noodles, hit just right. Oh, and don’t even get me started on their brown sugar boba – it’s a perfect companion to any meal here. I even heard someone rave about the Mongolian steak, so there’s a lot to explore.

Beyond the incredible flavors, the whole experience at Dumpling just feels good. The atmosphere is cozy, with music that’s present enough to add to the vibe without being intrusive. It creates a really welcoming space. But what truly elevates this place is the service. Seriously, the team here goes above and beyond. I've heard so many folks talk about how attentive and sweet their servers are. Annamaria, for instance, is described as being “sweet as sugar” and someone who genuinely goes the extra mile. Then there's René (or Renae, depending on who you ask!), who's just fantastic. She's great at giving detailed descriptions and checking in constantly, making a first-time visit feel truly special and comfortable. It’s that kind of friendly, attentive service that makes you want to come back again and again.

Honestly, every time I eat here, I find myself thinking about how lucky we are to have such wonderful food available. From the savory meats to the comforting boba tea and the perfectly crafted shumai and dumplings, it’s a feast. It’s a place that not only satisfies your taste buds but also reminds you to appreciate the simple joy of a truly delicious meal. I’m already planning my next visit, and I wholeheartedly recommend you pay Dumpling in Addison a visit soon. You won't regret it.
