Aroy Dee Thai Kitchen Albee Square Reviews
I absolutely enjoy coming here for lunch! Delicious food, good prices, and great service! You cant go wrong with the Pad See Ew or Drunken noodles! 🤤 I recommend giving them a go if youre in the area!
Five stars for prices and portion size. Four stars for food. We got Tom Yum, Pad Thai and satay beef. Everything was pretty good but a bit sweet. We weren’t asked how spicy we want our food. We like our food very spicy so recommend asking for spice level you like. Overall good affordable place to eat in the area.
A cozy spot serving very tasty and authentic Thai cuisine - perfect to go with your loved ones or even to dine alone! The green curry (with shrimp) recommended by the waitress was especially tasty and comforting in this chilly weather. Will be back!
Just had my favorite Beef Noodle Soup with egg noodles (aka: Boat Noodle Soup in Thailand). Tasty broth and beef is so soft. This item is very rare to get in NYC. Not too many Thai restaurants serve this Beef noodle soup. Another restaurant that serve this dish is in upper Hell’s Kitchen on 9ave between 36 & 37 st. Give it a try!!
such a lovely little spot with really good food and good prices for the area! i had the pad see ew and it was a good portion. def recommend!
The restaurant was super easy to find and the food was delicious. The crispy chicken Khao Soi was tasty and everything came out pretty quickly. If you’re looking for good Thai food, I’d suggest Aroydee Thai!
it’s my go to Thai restaurant. The food is consistently delicious and truly authentic just like what I’d have back in Thailand. They have so many options, and everything I’ve tried has been amazing. Highly recommend if you’re looking for real Thai comfort food!
A neat little Thai spot in the heart of downtown. Quite cramped inside but the food is delicious. The decor is trendy as well.. there is indeed seating but be prepared to be brushed by my folks ordering their food. I got the beef Thai fried rice off the lunch special and it came out to less than $10. They’ve got 4 different hot oil sauces for your tasting pleasure. Will definitely be visiting this place again.
This restaurant serves some of the most authentic Thai dishes I’ve had in New York. The balance of flavors sweet, sour, salty, and spicy was perfect. A server “Rose🌹” was attentive take care customers well and the atmosphere was warm. A wonderful dining experience overall.
Great hole in the wall Thai joint. Fantastic crispy pork belly and perfectly herby fish cakes. The service was solid and prompt, and the location was no frills but fun. Not a ton of seating as is common in places like this, but the food was fantastic. Could have been a lot spicier, but I’m used to that being a default as a non-repeat customer.
If you’re craving authentic Thai food without breaking the bank, this spot is a hidden gem. The flavors are bold, and the prices are shockingly reasonable for the quality. Service is fast and friendly, making it a great go-to for a casual meal or lunch too. They have lunch’s specials and a small number of places to sit inside. Otherwise takeaway is good too!
This was delicious! I ordered takeout and I was impressed. The papaya salad was refreshing with just the right amount of heat. The green chicken curry was soooooo good! The taste of herbs really brings an incredible aroma. When I went to pick it up the place smelled and looked clean. Staff was friendly. I highly recommend this place. ☺️
Absolutely awesome, I’m in the neighborhood and so surprised I hadn’t been or ordered till now. But well worth it. Dined in got the Saab set drunken noodles and khao Sui. Everything was hot and excellent. Must come place!
This is a hidden gem in Manhattan. It’s a small Thai resturant that got like 8 Tables. The food tastes great, you can feel that an authentic Thai chef prepared it. The food portion is huge, and the waiters are very friendly and always smiling. Their prices are relatively cheap compared to the portion that they serve. I ordered Tom yum noodle soup and it was full of calamari and big jumbo shrimps. They got a special lunch offer on limited plates that’s from 11:30 till 3:30.
This might be a physically small restaurant but it is big on flavor. The pumpkin curry with chicken was maybe the best I have tasted. My wife had one of the duck dishes and said it too was quite flavorful. The sauce tamarind which was in a separate bowl to use as you wish , was outstanding.
What a find! I've probably eaten in over 50 Thai restaurants throughout the years, and when I say this place has the *best* Panang Curry I've ever had, I mean it. Lunch menu is reasonably priced, really fast service, and again, the food is phenomenal. Treat yourself.
Just amazing! The only reason we chose this place was that it was the nearest restaurant and I am so glad that we tried this! Our server Sherry, was just excellent! The place is very small and very busy but the food was absolutely amazing, everything was very fresh and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant!
This is a hidden gem in FiDi. This place is worth traveling to, but you know what? It’s right there near the Fulton St station. Their lunch special is perfect for a quick and warm work meal. My fav is drunken noodle. If you’re going for dinner, I’d recommend the Rambutan Curry Duck - out of this world!
I went here with my friend after a long day at school. The inside of the place is very aesthetic and calm. I was able to relax. We both ordered drunken noodles and Thai iced teas. The noodles were extremely filling. We had a hard time finishing it. The Thai tea was also very refreshing. I think the price is reasonable as well. I recommend visiting this place if you are in downtown Manhattan.
I was looking for good Thai food around 8:30 PM on a Sunday, and this place absolutely was 👍🏾! The staff was incredibly accommodating and customized my order exactly to my liking. Great thai hip hop music too. The food was flavorful, fresh, and reasonably priced. It was also easy to find thanks to the helpful pictures online. I’ll definitely be coming back—next time, I’m trying their soup!
The restaurant is nearby the 4th World Trade Center building (about a 3 minute walk). Prices are very good, and so is the food quality. It felt very homey walking in and the atmosphere was amazing. The restaurant is small though, so large groups (more than 5) should be prepared to split up.
Aroy Dee Thai Kitchen is a hidden gem in NYC! The food is incredibly flavorful, authentic, and beautifully presented. I tried the Chicken Pad See Ew and Chilli Bamboo Chicken, and both dishes had the perfect balance of spice and freshness. The portions are generous, and the ingredients taste high-quality. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot for both casual dining and a nice dinner out. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always happy to accommodate spice level preferences. If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Thai food in NYC, Aroy Dee Thai Kitchen is a must-visit!
We loved our experience at Aroy Dee Thai Kitchen! It is a tiny restaurant, but we were able to get seated right away. The staff was very kind and friendly and the atmosphere was tasteful - even the tiniest spaces seemed to have something pleasant. We shared a bowl of the Tom Yum Koong soup, and my wife ordered the Drunken Noodles with Shrimp, and I got the Pad Thai with Crispy Pork. The soup was good, and neither of us had ever had anything like a lemongrass soup. But the soup got left behind once our entrees came out! We both marveled multiple times at how much we enjoyed our food! The portions were large, the flavor was excellent, and we both had a great time eating here. If it had not been the last night of our vacation, I bet we would have come back! I definitely recommend Aroy Dee for a satisfying, low key dinner!
We were thrilled to discover this spot on our third day in NYC! We ordered Pineapple fried rice with crispy pork and Shrimp dumplings, and it absolutely hit the mark—so flavorful with an authentic homemade Thai touch. The Thai milk tea was also genuinely delicious. Plus, the staff who served us were incredibly accommodating and friendly, making the experience even better!
I’ve been ordering from this place weekly for the past few years! It’s my go-to for pad Thai, pad see ew, Thai iced tea, and my newest favorite dish is the steamed chicken noodle soup. The chicken falls off the bone and the broth is incredible. I’ve also had their Heaven Chicken and papaya salad several times. Service is great. My favorite in FiDi and top fave in the city.
I placed an online order for pickup using their website. The Khao Soi (Northern Thai egg noodle soup) was incredible! They have wonderful lunch specials for $21 which are satisfying as well. During the weekday, they tend to be busy with the office employees working nearby. But the food comes out relatively quickly and it's delicious. There are only a few seats, and it's a cozy, casual environment.
If you’re searching for authentic Thai cuisine that brings back memories of Thailand or you want a taste of what food in Thailand is like, Aroy Dee Thai Kitchen is the place to go. I’ve been here 3-4 times already, and I can’t wait to come back when I’m in the area. On my first visit, I ordered the green curry, and it had the perfect spice level I was looking for. It gave me flashbacks to my time in Thailand—that’s how authentic it tasted. I can’t remember the name of the other dish I ordered, but it was equally delicious. And the Thai tea? Absolutely on point, just like any top-tier Thai tea should be. The staff here is fantastic, especially the woman at the counter. She took the time to listen to my stories about my vacation in Thailand, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving a true taste of Thailand.
I ordered the Chili Bamboo Chicken at Aroy Dee Thai Kitchen, and it was a solid experience! The dish had a good balance of spice and savoriness, with tender chicken, crisp bamboo shoots, and a mix of vegetables that added freshness. The sauce had a nice kick, but it wasn’t overpowering, making it a flavorful yet well-balanced meal. The portion size was satisfying, especially with the side of fluffy jasmine rice that complemented the dish perfectly. The service was quick and friendly, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming. If you enjoy Thai flavors with a bit of spice and crunch from bamboo shoots, I’d definitely recommend trying this dish. I’ll be back to explore more of their menu! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
It’s a small hole in the wall spot but I always am still able to sit down and eat, I love the drunken noodles and pad Thai, they also have really good mango sticki rice and Thai tea, it’s crazy this place is located in Fidi where I feel everything is expensive because the prices here are pretty reasonable for the quality food you are getting, always would recommend this spot
Aroy Dee Thai Kitchen is truly one of the city’s best hidden gems. As a New Yorker who’s tried countless spots, I was genuinely impressed by the authentic flavors and quality of the food—it’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. I recommend this place if you nearby the World Trade Center as a tourist and New Yorker, you won’t regret it.
Oh wow, probably the best Thai food I’ve ever had in my life. It was so good that during our 4-day trip to New York, we ate here twice. I’ll remember the Pad See Ew for the rest of my life! We also had shrimp and chicken dumplings, fried calamari, and noodle soup — everything was absolutely delicious. On top of that, the service was so friendly! The place is tiny but very cozy. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different than the “traditional” American food.
As an Asian traveling in New York, I highly recommend this restaurant! The flavors are sooo authentic, and the prices are very reasonable, especially considering the big portions. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice and Crispy Pork Kana—both were absolutely amazing! Definitely a must-visit if you’re craving real, delicious flavors. they also offer Vegetarian menu, how cool!
It's a small but cozy Thai restaurant in the Financial District. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I really like the decor in the restaurant as well. The curry puff came out hot and fresh and was bursting with spices and curry flavor. The dipping sauce that accompanied it was perfect. The massaman curry was very fragrant and flavorful. Very much recommend to support this small business.
Found this restaurant off Google. Near the Wall Street area so it was a busy location. Very small only 5 tables to sit. Most would just do takeaway. I got the pad Thai. It was good. Portion was a good size. Prepared very quickly. Didn’t enjoy sitting and being crammed around by 10 Uber Eats drivers. Was in town for work so didn’t really have a place to take it away to eat. I would recommend the food and return again.
Amazing place! Just a quick walk away from WTC, and it was one of the best Thai foods I've had in the United States. We ordered the Khao Soi (coconut milk base noodle) with chicken and it was absolutely spectacular. It was packed with flavour and really captured the essence of Northern Thai cuisine. The coconut soup/sauce base was so rich and umami, with a nice kick of spice, and the noodles were done just right! Great portions, great ambience, and great service. Would come again.
This is a truly authentic Thai restaurant — cooked and served by Thai people, and genuinely loved by Thai customers. The food is incredible, especially the fried chive cakes and somtum. The flavors are spot-on. The chive cakes are crispy on the outside and soft inside — honestly even better than many places in Thailand! The staff are incredibly kind. I was so hungry I wanted to order four dishes, but they gently stopped me and didn’t try to upsell at all. So genuine. They also recommended places to visit and shop, taking care of us like family. This is exactly what Thai people appreciate the most. I left feeling so touched and so homesick — in the best way possible. 💛🇹🇭
Mouthwatering flavor! We actually planned on going to the ramen place next door but they didn’t have enough seating. So we tried this place instead. We both got the special- a curry noodle dish with a choice of protein. Beef was perfectly tender, maybe on the dry side but the curry sauce made up for it. The fried fish was delicious and plentiful. The best thing was the curry. Such good flavor and spices. So glad we tried this. Highly recommend.
Absolutely 5 stars!! Went here after visiting the 9/11 museum and the place was packed out ( there is limited seating) however the server acknowledged us and said 15 minute wait and we was skeptical but she was fast in handling the bill on a table that had finished in order to avoid us waiting long. Staff were very efficient and friendly!! Couldn't fault their service at all. The Food is one of the best thai I have ever tasted , if you are thinking to go then definitely do. We live in the UK and wish this was closer to us as we would visit often. Good variety on menu, fast service, good portions sizes and decent size portions.

food was plentiful and delicious. This had a made from scratch taste that didn't compare to the average asian cuisine. The iced tea was a definite need to order too.

A very nice, casual & quaint Thai restaurant on John Street between Broadway & Nassau in the financial district of New York. Aroy Dee serves tasty & fairly authentic Thai food with good service and a nice atmosphere. We tried the tofu with red curry on rice, which was very good, the tofu with rice noodles, the coconut soup with seafood & pad Thai, all of which were good. Recommended for decent & reasonably priced dine-in or take-out Thai food in FiDi.
Nice little spot in FiDi to satisfy your Thai food cravings. The space has limited seating and is always busy during peak lunch hours. I recommend ordering ahead of time to beat the lunch rush. I placed my order for takeout via GrubHub around 4pm and by the time I got there my food was ready which was roughly 10 minutes. The staff member was friendly and handed my food with a big smile. I ordered the Crispy Pork Pad See Ew along with the Curry Puffs. The vegetables in the Pad See Ew had more crunch than the pork - in fact it had so much crunch I thought it was a bit undercooked because you can taste some of the bitterness. The noodles were a bit overcooked and a bit on the mushy side. Pork flavor was pleasant but a tad dry - luckily it did have some fat to help it along. The sweet savory sauce really did try it's best to keep the dish together but in the end the overall dish fell short of my expectations. 3/5 The Curry Puff - light airy pastry puff filled with curry chicken and potato served with cucumber vinegar sauce. From the very first bite, you know you're in for a treat. The fillings were seasoned nicely and the pastry dough was soft and flaky. I gave it 4 stars because I paid nearly $18 for the Crispy Pork Pad See Ew and it was such a let down but the service was quick, friendly and efficient. If you are near FiDi and don't mind the price then I do recommend it because they have some decent items on the menu.
Food was not bad. I had beef pad Thai and it was a decent portion. Maybe another few slices of beef would be nice since it's $17 and change but prices are rising everywhere. If you add a drink this is a $20 meal. Again the 4 stars is not based on price but more the food was decent but not great. The noodles seemed a little blah. There are a few seats inside to sit. A few tables for 2 and maybe 2 tables for 4. Inside seating is about 10 people max IMO.
The thai shrimp fried rice was just okay , it wasn’t anything over the top . I really liked the ambience of the restaurant itself . Low lights , cost and very great for conversation. The person taking our orders was also quite pleasant . The chicken I got was also just okay . RE: Visited this place again and wow , the regular Thai fried rice I and my friend ordered tasted so good . Very flavorful and filling with the sauce . We requested for it to be extra spicy . I got mine with crispy pork and she had hers with shrimp . Kate was so kind with her service as well .
The server was extremely kind and had a welcoming smile! The warm cozy atmosphere made me feel super safe. I got the crispy chicken with creamy curry noodles and it was slightly different from what i enjoy but im sure someone else will appreciate than i did. Overall i think everyone should experience this place!
Really solid Thai takeout spot around City Hall. Quick takeout. They have a great lunch special, and if you have the time to stay in to eat, check out their quirky decor.

I've ordered my two favorite dishes here, pad thai and green curry. The flavors are authentic. I get their lunch specials to go.
Cute little shop & very nice staff. The place is clean but little seating. The food was bland unfortunately. My red curry was such a thin consistency too. Probably would not return

A small Thai food restaurant. Staff are very polite. Ordered takeaway from here three days in a row because it's convenient for me. Tried their Thai fried rice with shrimp and tom yum goong for the first day. The fried rice is rather fragrant and delicious. Tom yum goong soup is spicy and tasty. Had their heaven chicken, fried calamari and wanton soup for the second day. The fried chicken was dry and bland, didn't take me to heaven at all. Fried calamari is alright. Wanton is quite huge but not very tasty though. Third day ordered their lunch special chicken cashew nut with rice that comes with three vegetarian spring roll for appetizer and a soda. Portion is quite small for me, taste is alright only. Overall, not really authentic taste of Thai food for me but still good for a meal.
If you're anywhere near the World Trade Center and craving authentic Thai food, Aroy Dee is an absolute must visit. This tiny spot might be easy to miss, but the flavors are unforgettable The staff is warm, welcoming, and always happy to customize the spice level to your liking. Favorites like the prawn fried rice and mango sticky rice are done perfectly fresh, balanced, and comforting. It’s clear this place isn’t just about quick meals it’s about real food made with heart.
