This establishment does it for me an enjoyable spot to unwind in a mature adult old school spot its what im about!
A classic. Places like this are disappearing in our city. I'm so happy we still have TJ Byrne's!

Great place to eat Irish food. Pleasant atmosphere.
Super friendly service, food and drinks good for the occasion.
Great Brunch, lunch, dinner, bar menu. Delicious Irish and American food and dessert too
Friendly staff, the food is good too. If you’re looking for a neighborhood bar with an older crowd (30 and up), this is your place.
My favorite place to go when I'm at the South Street Seaport area. It's got great staff, food and drink. Not a tourist trip like most of the bars in the area.
You made my birthday awesome! The food was great and the service was better! I definitely recommend coming here!
Curteous staff, great for groups, friendly to DD's, and I played Africa by Toto here 3 times in a row and no one complained.
The chef here was amazing. If you guys want to have good food ask for oscar to cook your food.
Great downtown bar with friendly atmosphere and a great selection of drinks as well as some good food to go with too!
Great time with great food, especially considering it was buffet style but freshly prepared and delicious.
Nice atmosphere & good food. Reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area.
great food...gemerous drinks... fabulous service...friendly attentive...allowed us to linger ...going back
I love this place. Friendly. Good food, very chill. I like that it feels hidden
Great place to get drinks. Love the atmosphere.
I am from South Africa and I just loved it! I just love America..would move tomorrow🍀🍀
A little hard to find it but the owner is great and the prices are reasonable. Food was good. Nice man.
both food and service were great. staff are friendly ad welcoming.
Nice place good food in the courtyard of the coop development by Fulton and water st real quaint clean restrooms
Friendly staff. Great wine. Delicious food. Reasonable prices.
So I had two tequila shots there one I bought the second was on the boss ! Such a friendly place ! Feel good music from the 70's ! & The atmosphere was just right. Definitely a place I would go back to or recommend.
Food is awesome. Service is great. Drinks are offical. They actually ask you neat or on the rocks. And they dont skimp on drinks. No secretly adding water or cutting hard liquor. Love it.
Really enjoy this place. Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Love the happy hour and half price apps during the week. Just a great place to sit and unwind with friends!!!!
Little hideout with the best pour of Guinness around, quiet atmosphere, great spot to tip in for a pint.
This place is sick I’ve been coming here for a while the food is fire and Tommy makes the best drinks. In the words of Tommy at that dear old Fulton bar we love so well ,”That beer is good eh?”
Really cool place to go in Manhattan. Attended a friend's birthday party there on a Saturday night and the staff were great
You’ll know the moment you walk into TJ’s if you love it or hate it. If you don’t love this place… please leave . And be sure to tell your friends to not go there. 🤌 I love this bar and will be back.
Great service, atmosphere and wonderful lobster- highly recommend for a fun night out!
I used to come here every Saturday and this place has such a unique and warm atmosphere! Love their food, drinks and service! Veeeery reasonable prices
The pork was tender (fell off the bone), the vegetables were charbroiled, the potatoes were just the right texture and full of flavor. The servers were friendly and attentive. The ambiance is a blast from the past.
I went to a reading here and one of the poets loudly listed all of the signage displayed on businesses down the length of fresh pond road as If words to a song. It was a car accident at the intersection of wow and dated Irish pub that made my spine tingle like I’d been karate chopped in a way so hard I might feel it forever
There is nowhere like Tj Byrnes. I have been coming here for almost 10 years. From my college days to my now working girl days - you can still catch me visiting with my best friends and see us having the best time no matter the time of day! Tommy & Misty and the entire staff take care of their customers. Prices are great, drinks/food are great, customers are great, staff is great. Going back there today sparked me to make my review!!!! I'll always love and support this great place!
Great food, drinks, and had a marvelous time dancing to wonderful Salsa music with my friends.
What a great experience here. We came by on a Saturday evening and every where was packing with wait times. This place had available table with some authentic Irish food. Beers were nice and cold with Christmas music playing in the background. Katy was out waitress and was very pleasant. They also have a bar area. I wish I lived close to this neighborhood/bar restaurant. This is a owner/run establishment.
Absolutely love TJ Byrne’s in Manhattan! This is the epitome of a true old Irish pub, with a warm, neighborhoody vibe that makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere is fantastic, complete with charming decor and friendly locals. The owner, who is Irish, is an absolute delight—so welcoming and makes you feel like part of the family. The food is also great, with hearty and delicious dishes that hit the spot every time. It’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy a pint, and soak in the authentic pub experience. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for an authentic, no-frills Irish pub in the heart of the city!
Quiet, mature and friendly regulars. Tommy is owner and bartender with a good support staff. Drinks are reasonably priced for lower Manhattan. It has been my local on and off over 20 plus years. Come on in have a drink
Nice atmosphere. The red leather upholstery and dim lighting the seventies music (Barry White and BeeGees type music) they were playing gave me this retro lounge vibe that I loved but was lost on a younger member of the group. (My young childhood was in the seventies and I watch lots of seventies retro tv, so... ✌) I loved my fish and chips. Not everyone loved their food but hey if it's Irish then go Irish so I did and I wasn't disappointed.
Best bar in Manhattan, the loveliest and kindest owners and bar tenders, never a bad crowd. Always enjoyed coming here and never was disappointed. Food is great but it's the cocktail that you come here for and trust me they have all kinds of alcohol and the bartender knows every cocktail imaginable and not.
Good old fashioned comfort food at very reasonable prices.
Great service! Nice chill spot w/ free appetizers!! 👌
surprisingly good food. Average manhattan drink prices.
We like have our office retirement get togethers here.
Great atmosphere, friendly proprietor, good selection.
RETIRED JUNE 30 2002 FROM VERIZON SURE ENJOYED VISITING T J BYRNES AFTER WORK
No frills Irish pub, but priced well and great food. I especially like their burgers
A nice place to gather with friends food and drinks are very good I would really recommend this place :)
T.J. Byrnes is a good place to have dinner and drinks, hang out with friends. I always go therenjoy. Go and check it out
Nice old school joint! Restaurant by day & club/bar by night. You can't go wrong either way...
A small bar to spend the evening at. They have a nice selection of drinks and the bartenders are attentive and very friendly.
Great staff and top 3 best cheese steaks I have eaten..thumbs up..
Friendly and fast service with nice food and good welcoming atmosphere.
The food was good. The server was really nice and attentive.
Decent food for the price with a comfortable atmosphere. The wait staff were very accommodating to my family.
Great beers and food, small lack of seating in the bar. Well worth it if you can get a spot 👌👌
Older Bar Restaurant in the Seaport area in manhattan. Good food, decor is dated but if its drinks and food you want stop in
Great old school restaurant/bar. The owner sits around the restaurant check out his guests once in a a while you may spot him.
This place is pretty full personal events. A bit tight but still good drinks, food and service.
We only drank there but had a nice time. Nice Irish bartender and lovely atmosphere in bar. My pina colada was very weak & left me wondering if it was a virgin colada, so if you're ordering a frozen drink consider asking for an extra shot. This place can be a little tough to find as it's in a big commercial or residential building. It's not a stand alone structure. Very pleasant place. We would return.
Great place for a pint of Guinness and whiskey with their 100% sirloin steak burgers with steak fries. You won't find any other classic Irish American pub with there affordable prices and delicious Irish dishes.
Great brunch value...had 2 bloody mary's and steak and eggs for 17....including tips. Dad liked the Irish breakfast. Lady liked her burger. Dad doesn't drink so had another 2 bloody Mary's.
Went with my soon-to-be 80 year old aunt 10 minutes before kitchen closing time. The food was very fresh, waitress was extremely friendly, and we weren't rushed at all. I would surely go back again!
Awesome but expensive for my taste
A favorite hang out during my college years this bar has absolutely no pretentiousness. A place for affordable food, the buffalo wings are painfully hot and the chicken breast sandwich is tasty, and drinks, well poured Guinness, with a friendly staff. It's a neighborhood staple and the kind of place where you'll learn the bartender's name and come back enough times and he'll learn yours. It's not a place I'd journey to but it is a refreshing break from all the bars in the area. Stop in for a glass of beer and say hit to Tommy
T.J. Byrnes impresses with very good service and atmosphere - the staff is attentive and the vibe is inviting. Unfortunately, the food was just average and didn't match the quality of the experience elsewhere. Come for the ambiance and hospitality, but don't expect exceptional cuisine.
Cozy neighborhood joint but if you can, make a point of going when Drew is behind the bar: absolute endlessly entertaining.
Very nice staff. Food was ordinary.
The service was good. The food was good....I think. The Moscow Mule.....😬 Maybe just order a beer?
Food and service are good but the place decor is not happy and too dark
Local bar with standard "Irish" theme. They pour a good pint. I recommend the burgers.
Not bad food. Service was a little slow but customer service was great.
Drinks are cheap, food is blah, but the karaoke team rocks and they really know what they're doing. They did a great job at hyping up the crowd to the point that everyone didn't want to leave. I would go back again, but it would have to be a karaoke night.
Went here recently. Locals spot. Got chicken tenders ($15) and some domestic light bottled beer. Tenders were microwaveable quality at best. Solid atmosphere but way too pricey on food and drinks for the quality you get.
Not very authentic or even fun. It appears to be poorly run. The beer selection is not what I would expect in an Irish pub. The food selection was minimal. I would not recommend this place if you want anything remotely close to an Irish pub.
Just went here on a first date. It was around 2pm and they had all the doors open. The ventilation was nice but the flies and mosquitoes were not. My date got no less than 12 mosquito bites on her arms in the time that we were there and we were sitting inside at a booth. I also noticed as we were being seated the little plexiglass dividers they had with printed shamrocks had really thick streaks across them all as if instead of cleaning them the dirt was just pushed around which made me leery about ordering food but I did it anyway. My date had the shepherd's pie and she said it was pretty good. I had the steak sandwich and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's one of the toughest cuts of meat that I've ever had in my life. I actually asked for it to be cooked medium rare and it was but still tougher than leather. So much so I was only able to eat about a quarter of the sandwich before giving up. It also came with fries and an onion rings that were obviously fried together in the same oil that tasted like it probably hasn't been changed in months. Thankfully my date didn't hold any of this against me but we definitely learned our lesson and I'm frankly shocked at the general rating of this place because my experience was contrary to the four point whatever stars this place averages.
Love this place its like home for been going there foe 15 years ..food awesome drinks on deck
Very nice owner and staff. Not just nice down to earth. Real deal experiences. Connect! Good shizzle. Thank you 😊
