la Madeleine Allen Reviews
Hadn't been in a long time. Went today to have breakfast and redeem my birthday reward. Ordering was easy (that was a problem in the past), food was wonderful, and sat by the beautiful fireplace. We'll go back!
The drinks are good, I will go again for the coffee and matcha.
Love la Madeleine! The tomato and cream of mushroom soups or the Caesar salad are always great to start. Whether you are having crepes, quiche, a sandwich or a savory pastry, the food is always terrific and always spot on. For dessert they have multiple pastries, Sacher Torte, coconut cream cake but my favorite... is the strawberries Romanov!!! This is one of the older stores and still has the really cool decor of the old world French bistro. The newer stores... like a cafeteria.... not so good...
The food is always good but I had to write a good review today because they were short handed today and not only apologized but still gave great customer service. Lately it seems good customer service is hard to find but not here! It took a little longer than normal but I still got treated good and my food was warm and delicious.
I ordered the eggs Benedict, sat down and waited. My food never came. It was a simple mistake and I was ready to write this place off and not try it again. When I asked for a refund, the management listened to me and quickly gave me the refund. They apologized, and insisted that I wait 5 min so that they could get me my food to go even though I told them three times that it was not necessary they would almost not let me leave until they made it right. Have not looked at it but but I am pretty sure that the manager gave me a gift card or a coupon. The person that brought the to go box to me continued to apologize and was very understanding and kind. The eggs did not look super impressive, but they were delicious. I think this was a simple mistake and I was not too upset about it, but there are not a lot of employees at places like this that understand how important customer satisfaction is. I plan on coming back simply because that is good business. They cared about their service. It's too common for people in the food service to not care and I was impressed by the people working there.
This is the best restaurant of all other La Madeleines in the area, in my opinion. Great food, fantastic service and ambience. There’s another La Madeleine closer to our house, but we always spend extra time driving to this location. It’s just worth it!
Service here is excellent as usual! Huge smiles and eagerness to help us refreshing! Thank you for making a birthday breakfast awesome, our daughter was very pleased.
Jake working the front desk May 14th was incredible!! Amazing attitude, kind, and went above and beyond to meet guest needs. Please recognize this team member for doing his absolute best even when he thinks nobody is paying attention.
Friendly staff, food was fresh, plenty of parking. Price is reasonable. Getting into the parking lot can be a tad confusing as you have to go into the shipping center and turn to get to the turn in for the restaurant. Not in the stores control but that was the only caveat with my experience. I reccomend the Chicken Pesto Pasta or a Chicken Friand with mushrooms sauce.
Great hang out, food still ok, I think it's time for a menu upgrade. Service is always great. I still love this place, but it's time for change. The French cuisine is large.
Cashier Blake had excellent customer service skills and made sure our order was correct
La Madeleine in Allen, Tx has always been nice and clean. We have eaten there breakfast, lunch as well as dinner. They can be pretty busy at times but the staff always has a smile and ready to assist you. The food has always been delicious. My favorite is the chicken Cesar with the chicken on the side and I add fresh mushrooms; it’s a must try!
Love this place! Tomato basil soup, ❤️ coconut cream cake to die for! Awesome salads. Everything is very fresh; multiple times that I've gone.
Lesli was very sweet really helped us choose. We really enjoy coming here.
This time going in for take out: Customer service was outstanding. I should've gotten her name but she's a cute little ginger with the sweetest disposition. She took the order, repeated it back, I added something, she repeated it again...her coworker helped out, together- they were a team. Food was put together fine, utensils added. This doesn't always happen here so I was impressed. I didn't get pictures but ordered yogurt parfait, strawberries romanoff, small Ceasar salad, small hot chocolate and vanilla latte.
My friend and I just uncovered the most amazing baby shower hack! This Le Mads has a private dining room available for events with just a shockingly low minimum purchase. We held a roughly 15 person baby shower here on a Friday evening and it could NOT have gone smoother. Brian the day manager showed me the space and helped me get everything set up. Then Joshua the evening manager was wonderful upon arrival. We ordered the pesto pasta, Caesar Salade with Balsamic chicken, family fruit side & had to get the romanoff for dipping. Add a cake and everyone had plenty. The food was wonderful, fresh, presented so well. With groceries what they are, I couldn't have even made it myself for the price we paid! Outstanding customer service, everyone so friendly, and really helpful. They went above & beyond! My cohost and I are conspiring to hold all of our mom group events and parties here. Planning was a SNAP!
This is such a lovely spot! The food is super tasty, and the service is quick and friendly. It’s a great place to visit if you’re looking for good vibes and great food. Totally recommend it!
Yeah you get the French vibe with certain things you'll see like ordering counter and the rest rooms. Coffee's good. What's nice is that your food is made to order and they bring out to your table.
Great tasty breakfast... pleased with all I had for breakfast... Great presentation of the pastries...
I brought my mom here as she had not been to one in years. She enjoys tasty French food as well as desserts. She ended up ordering the Crepes La Madeleine and I had the Croque-monsour with tomato basil soup. For dessert I had the chocolate torte and Mom had the carrot cake. We were all very pleased with our meals but on top of that the restaurant was extremely clean. I like the fact that you could order counterserve at the front and they brought it out to you rather than the lunch food sitting in the case in front of you. All in all we had a delightful experience sitting next to the window.
My husband and I went in with our one year old daughter and we were treated so kindly by the staff. They were so friendly and had great customer service. The food was delicious, the restaurant was clean and quiet. We will be back!
Met here at the Allen location for a group dinner. We had a back room. The place was clean and the service was excellent. The food was fresh and l loved the French Dip. Yummy. I took a chocolate almond crossiant home for breakfast. Bathrooms were clean too.
The staff are friendly and helpful. They always have a smile and great attitude. I enjoy getting breakfast here with my friends!
One of the better branches but I found the Bakery section slightly limited when compared to Houston stores. Perhaps, my "browsing" was too cursory. Naturally, if you get tired of any artisan bakery section in grocery stores, this place may merit a visit for the indulgence better but light meals.
Ashley was a new hire, but not that you would know it. She was pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. Elizabeth brought my order to me and asked if there was anything else that I needed. The service that was given to me today made me thankful that there are amazing people out there doing their best at taking care of others. I'll be back to the Allen location for the food and service and hope to see the same staff that was there today. Thank you Ashley and Elizabeth and thank you, la Madeleine!
In Allen, TX-We, Husband & I, had a build your own sandwich: roast beef with cheddar hot and a Caesar salad -(tasty enough to order another one to go) the beef and Parmesan plate,(kinda small portion for price but delicious). Crème brule’ (amazing flavor and texture) Madeline cookie glazed(great flavor/texture) coconut cake (husband said it reminded him of a childhood birthday cake he had that was great) small bite size fruit tart (lacked flavor/needed some sweetness to it) —Maria took our order at the counter and was very nice. Victor was on top of gathering our plates, with a smile, as we emptied them. Did not notice any dirty tables. Food temperatures were good, and actually came out without too much of a wait-was lunch time and including trying to figure out what we wanted to eat and ordering a 2nd sandwich only took a total of 50 min- walking in and out the door. Clean floor, tables, and bathroom.(in the ladies bathroom it actually had the radio with learning French phrases that was cool) Pleasant atmosphere.
I saw some reviews about the pricey price and dirty tables. I think opposite. I have been trying to eat healthy. So, I ordered the sampler combo. I got chicken salad, strawberry bacon salad, and Cranberry pecan salad. You can also opt in a cup of soup. I also get a cup of cappuccino, which was served right after I situated at the table. And food was served within 10 minutes. Food presentation looks good and tastes delicious. Plenty of tables were opened and cleaned. I decided to sit by the window for the late morning sunshine. Ambience is lovely and peaceful. French music is played softly in the background while I’m immersing myself in the French Countryside. Staff greeted as soon as I walked in and offered to answer any question I may have had. I was debating on a couple dishes, and he provides an insightful suggestion. Total bill after tax (before tip) $15.67, which is not bad for a healthy meal under 2024 Presidential Election inflation. Price comparison: The salad sampler price is the same price as Chick-fil-A meal. Yet, I’m stuffed with nutrients-dense food. Thank you laMadeleine for your great food, price, and service. Definitely recommend this place to anyone!
A nice and cozy restaurant in Allen to enjoy some classic french comfort food and bakery items. I love their chocolate croissant, almond croissant, danish, pesto pasta etc. These are my few go to items. Other times i love to try their pasta and salad samplers which is fresh and very filling. The restaurant itself is huge with two dining halls including a cozy fireplace and also an outdoor patio. The staff is very friendly and they provide really fast service.
Food 6 stars! I would give 5 stars overall but their process for ordering when you're inside needs a lot of work. We had to order our sandwiches twice and the staff seemed more interested in chatting than helping move the line along.
I used to eat in La Madeleine, located in rockwall, and I love the service and food. Today, I ordered in Allen location it wasn't too bad, but I noticed less quality in my chicken parisien sandwich and saladad.
I came here a few days ago and got pastries and ordered a soup. Only to find they never gave the soup. I came few times before and had good experience. Came today to get a brunch and they were a bit busy. We ordered some breakfast items and a custom omelette, the omelette was nasty ngl. They used frozen spinach or veggies perhaps and it was just not great. Staff were okay. Other items like scrambled egg and croissants were good.
It was a fine evening when we are looking for great coffee and a nice ambience. Fortunately we found La Madeleine French Bakery where we found delicious Muffins and fruit tart. We has fruit tart a year back at french restaurant only and till now we were looking for that taste again which we found at La Madeleines with appropriate amount of sweetness and fruits and crispy tart. Not to mention their cappuccino was absolutely treat for you with perfect blendness of milk and coffee. Ambience is also amazing and give you calmness around you where you can talk to love one of friends for long. They have so many dishes in their menu which we would.love to try again in future.
Food is good. People as are nice, but I am not sure there is value. They took the bread away and it seems like the portions are smaller and prices higher.
Their food is really good! But we had to wait a while for the food, even though there wasn’t many people. They are short-staffed.
Got here today about 8:20 in the morning, my order was ready within minutes which was great. I never been to France but it felt a little French. The almond chocolate croissant was pretty good, I can see myself coming back for it. Quiche Lorraine was good, crispy in a right way but nothing special - won’t be ordering again. Latte was regular latte😄 Overall it was fast and good but maybe a little overpriced: $17 for those items after tax without tip. Thus the 4 stars out of 5. Maybe it’s damn inflation and everything is just more expensive now 😭
Edited 1/6/2026: Manager reached out to me and made it right. I changed from a 1 star to a 4 star now. Felt that they need to hire more help at this location. Old review: Slow slow slow.. Try to avoid this store as possible. All I ordered is the soup and macaroons. Those are all pre-made. Just need to scoop them and get the macaroons. The lady just stood there, waiting for the food to come out. For dine in. She can easily help with scooping the soup. Another guy just walk around. Many upset customers at this location. Doesn't even look like a manger is on staff.
Vanilla creme brulee: 4 stars. Not overwhelmingly sweet, tastes like natural vanilla (as opposed to artificial flavor). Sugar crust was non exisitent-- there was a layer of liquid on top instead of the sugar crust. Tiramisu: 5 stars. I really liked it, both flavor and texture. I like how it is not overwhelmingly sweet.
Great experience at this fun, quaint place. I’m from out of town and we don’t have this place. Grabbed breakfast with family and it was very good. Had the omelette with chicken, mushrooms, and cheese - very fresh. We also had croissants and bread with the complimentary jellies. What a neat eatery.
My first coffee cup was dirty so I took away two stars. The food was good. However my fiance ended up in the bathroom for about a good 30 minutes before we could leave so I'm not sure what upset his stomach... I think that's the best advice I could give is for the manager to ensure that things are clean for the customers. Nobody wants explosive diarrhea from a lack of cleanliness. I have the tomato soup and turkey and cranberry lunch. The turkey and cranberry salad was very good. I especially liked the pecans. Find me Elvis very fresh and was brought to the table quickly. The service staff did a good job. They stop by my table to make sure everything was okay. The bathrooms were relatively clean.
I came here with my wife for a late Sunday breakfast. From the start, the girl at the order counter was clearly new and had to find someone to ask about a couple of things I ordered off of the menu, just to put them in the computer. She still got my order wrong, and I after she brought me a small parfait dessert I clarified that I did not order the vanilla parfait dessert but the yogurt parfait breakfast item. She was clearly overwhelmed, though they were not busy at all. It seemed like they were training multiple staff members. My wife's chicken salad had a piece of paper around one of the pieces of chicken. I've been waiting about 30 min for my potato gallette, still waiting while writing this review... I finished the rest of my breakfast about 10 min ago. Update 10 min later: I went to the manager and asked about the potato dish, he apologized profusely and gave me a $10 gift card and immediately got the dish out. Updated to 3 stars. Food was good, management was nice, the main customer facing staff seemed ill-prepared for the job. Training is necessary, hopefully this was just a one off experience and next time is better!
Every time we have ordered from here, they have gotten our order wrong. But they have been super nice and fixed it. This time we ordered pesto without chicken. When we picked it up, it had chicken in it. We had to call and they asked us to come back and pick up another order without chicken.
A variety of famous French meals. The soup ( three types) were very good. We found a stone in one of the spinach quiches. The staff need to be patient a bit to answer customer questions. For a mysterious reason, the waitress filled (only less than of 3/4 of the cups) for three glasses of fresh orang and lemonade juices. I liked la Madeleine since I was living in Houston but I may not bring my family back to this location.
The pastries and such are great here. Maybe they need to stay in their lane. The eggs are never over medium, so for my taste I make better eggs than this cook. Two orders with 1 egg over hard, and 1ot 2 over easy. How do you cook 3 eggs at the same time and all different doneness? I was being treated for my birthday so I wished for my mom's sake everything came out better.
I've been here a few times since they opened. The food is great but the service needs improved...quickly. I'll admit though, today the food was the fastest is ever been and the manager who delivered the food was better than the previous one. Previously waited 45 minutes and they weren't even crowded! Today it arrived inless than 10 minutes. Now if they would just do something with the cashier with the strange sense of humor. He's not funny...he leaves you feeling very uncomfortable.
First time at this location and it wasnt the best, our food took forever to come out and whoever was running food just kept leaving plates at the window causing a huge delay in delivering meals on time. I understand being short staffed but you guys had a few people just talking while food was piling up.
I used to love going here, I tried it once after they removed the 1/2 rotisserie chicken but haven’t liked it since. I used to go a couple of times per month for the rotisserie chicken. It’s not the same as before COVID.
Food had an excellent taste, however, it was supposed to be a hot breakfast, food was lukewarm at best. Coffee was the same way, employees were friendly but there did not seem to be enough of them which to some extent had to be contributing to the food quality, I mean come on who wants to eat lukewarm eggs.
After taking my mother to visit her friend in the nursing home we stopped by this place for dinner. There was a very nice country, french atmosphere. The employees were very friendly. Although the plating of the food was very pretty, it tasted just average. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't that flavorful either. Everything we had was just average and for the amount of money I probably would go elsewhere.
Food is amazing, love the quiche, perfect flavor. But the management should really make some changes. Especially the lady named Edith. During my visit she seemed to be making rude remarks to the young employees. I also noticed that her hair is very long and loose. It grosses me out because her hair kept on getting in the way. I don’t think it’s sanitary for her not to have it up.
The girl working the register had an attitude about nearly everything I said. When asked if they have alternative milks for the lattes was met with "for extra." But no answer as to what is available. Then she got nearly our whole order wrong. The ham and cheese Danish was ice cold, they brought us almond croissants when we ordered chocolate almond croissants(specified that at the register twice). Also was met with attitude when we asked for a refund due to being charged for 2 ham and cheese danishes when only 1 was ordered and they also only had 1. She didn't give us a receipt. Terrible experience.
After being on a bit of a soup kick, ive eaten at several La Madeline locations lately. This one is by far the worst. 20+ minutes to get food being the only order up in the kitchen. The Croque monsieur was burnt on top and the ham is cold in the middle and very skimpy on the meat. Won't be back to this location. Shame as it's very convenient from my work.
I wasn't planning to post this picture at all, but I think I have to alert the corporate, customers and management. I understand bugs can get into the green food supply since they need to eat as well. However, we come to eat at this type of restaurant because of food regulation and cleanest. This is not the case, be careful what you eat and always pay attention to your plate. You might find a little surprise!
I'm not exaggerating when I say nearly all the tables were covered in dirty dishes and had not been bused. I asked the register about it and they said there was no buser that day. They were able to bus the one table that had a cash tip on it....The dirty tables really created a gross environment. I usually really enjoy La Madeleine. Disappointing.
I order from La Madeleine all the time but the Allen location has to be the worse. Not only is customer service horrible but my food was just sitting there getting cold. The lady said give us 2 mins for my drink I was waiting on and it took about 10 more minutes, so of course by this time my food is super cold. I get back to the office and the potato galette was so cold and not cooked properly as if they just threw it in the to go container without cooking. The Frisco location is amazing but Allen needs some help and bad.
Don’t advertise curbside pick up if you don’t offer it!!! I drove up there sick and in my pajamas purposely ordering from the website advertising curbside pick up. Driving all the way up there to call and notify I was out front for pick up. The lady who answered the phone stated they don’t offer curbside and I have to come in to pick up my order. I explained to her that I’m in my pajamas and the reason I placed an order for pick up from you guys is because you advertise curbside pick up. She said she doesn’t control what their website states and she’ll make an exception this one time. What?!!! Change your freaking website, Google and your order confirmation email that ALL clearly state that you offer curbside pickup and the directions for curbside pickup!!!
Went there for the very first time after having driven past it tens of times. I ordered a couple of different half sandwiches and a few other items. The store itself is very cute, cozy and clean. I noticed that it was empty though. The counter ladies seemed a bit scatterbrained, and half my order was not put in my bag. Luckily I checked it before I left. The grilled cheese was bad. Bread was tough, not browned on both sides and the cheese was supposed to be three cheeses, I only saw one, and it was not melted. The turkey sandwich had a huge piece of burnt bacon on it and less than 1\4 pieces of turkey meat for what I paid. The tomato soup was packaged with soup dripping all on the sides. The chocolate chip cookies were shaped like triangles instead of circular and unappetizing. I don't think I will be back.
Wife and I gave this chain a second chance, but the food was just not good. The staff was friendly enough, I guess. She tried the new Ham and Swiss crepe, but the flavor was just not good. It left the taste of overused oil in your mouth after eating. We also tried the Clam Chowder that tasted a bit off to both of us. I finished my plate that was the country breakfast, although my over-easy eggs still contained clear liquid. We will not be returning this chain anytime soon.
Joshua the manager is a very rude , disrespectful, arrogant, person. He does not deserve to be a manager or even work in this industry with his horrible attitude towards guests and employees! Will be contacting corporate about this , how RUDE ! I hope they let him go soon , very unprofessional
Love La Madeleine and love supporting local businesses. Unfortunately, this location was poorly ran. Very inefficient. I just wanted coffee and a chocolate croissant. The dine in line was to the door so I attempted to go to the take out which had no line. I was informed I could not do so because all dine in required to receive a number. I obliged since my family was already seated and we were going to eat there. 45 minutes later and I'm still waiting for a croissant which I can see sitting in the display. Looked around, and patrons were also bored waiting for food. The complimentary bread also was out. I'm normally understanding of the place if it is packed and understaffed . Traffic was decent but they had 3 employees in the kitchen, 3 at the counter, and a couple working the tables. I may give it another go in the future but really disappointed this go around. No apology or explanation for the poor service. Now looking at other reviews, I guess this should be expected as service has not improved.
Came here today to pick up lunch. The food was pretty good. The customer service i received however was terrible! The one star is solely for the food. I would give negative ten stars for the rudeness of the employee. The girl working the togo register was not only rude to me but to the customer in front of me as well. I wanted a few slices of sour dough bread to go with my soup. I was told that wasn't possible but that I could have a baguette instead. I never received one. I had to pay 5 dollars for a whole loaf of bread when I just wanted a couple slices. No big deal I understand covid has things weird. However if you are going to tell someone you will give them a complimentary bread stick then actually give them it!! I also ordered a cookie for my daughter. They completely forgot my cookie. Luckily I checked my bag before driving away. Unfortunately I was already in the car and had to get back out to go get it. I'm very pregnant so it's not an easy feat. The girl working the register rolled her eyes at me!!!!! Handed me the cookie and didn't say a single word. An apology for her mistake would have been nice. There needs to be some changes made and better training because that should not be acceptable. I wish i had gotten her name. It was not Lauren or Emily as I know them. So whoever was working 9/2/2020 at 2 o clock she really needs to be talked to about how she treats customers. I will definitely be taking my money and business elsewhere.
I hate to be a Karen, but… This was not my first visit to this location that has gone horribly wrong but this is the first time that I’m leaving a review and it’s only because it gets worse and worse every time. Called in the order 20 minutes before hand, when they asked for the name on my order I even spelled my name out for them. My husband and I get to their location and tell them we are there to pick up, they could not find my order they asked if we were at the right location, read off the phone number I called, the lady walked off without saying anything. We stood there for a few minutes, then asked another employee if she knew what was going on, she immediately got super rude saying she doesn’t know anything cause she didn’t talk to us. We left. 5 minutes later they called and left a voicemail saying it was under a different name. We will not be going back to this location. They employees are rude and they never have their act together and no accountability. I recommend going to ANY other location BUT this one
I went here to get a To-Go order but was immediately hit with a horrible smell of SEWAGE! Yes, I said sewage. The saddest thing is this location has had this problem for years off and on. It was so bad this time I had to immediately leave. It was HORRIBLE!!! They really need to get this fixed or close down this location. I can't believe anyone would want to eat there with that overpowering smell. Seriously.
We went a few weeks ago and the service is terrible and rude, particularly by one employee. We had 5 people eating and they brought us 2 pieces of bread with our food, so my wife went up and asked nicely for 3 more pieces so each person could have some. The employee surprisingly responded with "are you serious, you need more bread"? This was the same employee who brought us the food and we were the only table in the entire restaurant, so she knew we had five people but my wife kindly said, "well we have 5 people and each person would like a slice", the employee again rudely grabbed 3 slices of bread and with attitude slid it across the counter without saying anything and rolled her eyes. We will not be back and its a shame that employees like this get away with ruining and driving away business. There are too many people who need jobs to continue to employ people with this kind of attitude.
I brought dark cherry yogurt Danish with tomato basil and mushroom soup. The taste is worst. Danishes smells like egg yolk and tomato soup is too sour. I don’t recommend this place. It’s just waste of money
What is it with this location? This location just can get simple food orders right. Everything is always wrong, I always order a simple turnkey sandwich, cold, no mayo with a petite field greens salad. The sandwich always comes with mayo or it comes hot, or with a totally different salad than requested. The last 5 times I've been here has been wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME! I keep thinking things have had to have gotten better since my last visit, but it didn't.
Came in for Sunday brunch. At least 15 people waiting to order and one person trying to do it all while 2 people were talking and completely oblivious. One was a manager. Even when the cashier went to ask a question and clearly needed help, they continued to ignore her. I even tried waving them down but they were completely out of touch.
I just got home from la Madeleine on McDermott in Allen TX; I am not pleased. I was attending a very good dinner seminar (Jay Lamb, look him up) and gave the staffer my ticket and my order prior to the seminar starting. The staffer told me that my food would be brought to the seminar room and that I should go ahead and get my drink. They never brought my food. I couldn't very well leave the seminar without missing important information. I couldn't ask the seminar host to stop his presentation to deal with this, because then he would have to cut his presentation short on the back end. The LM manager did make a brief appearance at the door (I had no idea who he was) and asked the host if everything was OK. The host, of course, told him all was OK. Except it turns out that they still had my order in the system and had not delivered it to the room. When I brought this up after the seminar, I was told "oh, you should have mentioned it earlier when the manager came to the room." The problem is that he was there for about 4 seconds, and never introduced himself in any case. He found the order in their system. The (Very) young man who had taken the order must have messed it up somehow although the people who had been right behind me got their orders delivered just fine. They said they would get the order and asked me if I wanted to stay and eat there or get it to go. Well, I had already been there for *two* *hours* without my dinner and I needed to get home to attend to animals, etc. So, I requested it "to go". When they brought me the order (just salad and a sandwich), and in fact throughout the latter part of this situation, the junior staffer was apologetic but the manager was just completely dispassionate ("We'll get your order." "Here's your order" , etc.) They didn't even offer me something, even something small like a cookie on the house to make up for their leaving me without my food for two hours. So, now, I get to sit at home and eat my cold French Dip sandwich. Yippee. Why would I ever want to patronize their establishment again and risk a similar mess?
We order bowl of soup, bread and drinks it was terrible . Well the creamy mushrooms out was OK but the French onion was too salty ,and hardly any cheese. Also we received cold sliced bread not warm bread. It was cold in building only warm room was fireplace room, crowded and dirty. The young server was sweet but seemed to be only one really working. Overall disappointed
Stood in checkout line for about 2 minutes, While the guy was stocking some cookies at the front end and took my order then. After that he got on the phone, texting of course, another customer entered waited and waited Now It's up to 4 minutes so far, for the other customer there is still no food for me.A simple sandwich potatoe was cold and they called name a left food up on counter behind the checkout i was waiting for guy (.employee) to get off of phone to get for me
Ordered DoorDash from here and the Chicken Cordon Bleu pasta was disappointing. I was used to La Madeleine in Austin area and thought it would be the same here and sadly it was not; food was cold (delivery was only two miles away so it’s not that) and did not include the bread.
The staff was unable to take a simple order correctly. We ordered a 6 pack of assorted croissants and the manager got the wrong ones after taking the order herself.
No coffee available, had to ask to be made. Employee was professional but I feel that the owner is nickel and diming the place hence no fresh coffee at 6 PM. The place does not seem clean.
So this place just continues to get worse and worse. Their cook on the weekends only knows how to burn food and make it practically inedible. But the most serious issue was this. We asked for a plain croffle with nothing in it just the croffle because our daughter likes these but can't eat meat or dairy as that will make her very sick. So the person who took our order said no problem they can do that. Then they bring us one full of ham and cheese. Thankfully she realized with the first bite and spit it right out. They then proceeded to replace it but that one still had cheese. Again she couldn't eat that. Apparently the people making the food here are just wildly incompetent. We will never return.
Just Really left upset!!! Just left the doctors office and wanted some soup, as I am sick, but not hungry! My husband decided to stop here. He ordered salad sampler and it came with 3 items. He ordered two things (caesar salad and onion soup) and I went ahead and took his third with an onion soup. So the lady cashier did that and also proceeded to charge me another onion soup. I went up to her and said hey since you charged me for the onion soup, ill pay the difference and get a bowl and take another Caesar salad. She said ok and i saw our food ready (INCLUDING THE ALREADY MADE CAESAR SALAD) and went to wash my hands in the bathroom. I came back and the food was there, but the extra salad wasnt. I got up and asked the lady where it was. She told me she added it to my husbands plate. I said it was already ready before i changed it when i came up. She said i took it back and put more. I said fine and walked away. She came back to the table and proceeded to say shes maybe not explaining it right. I said maam i understand english and her comment was well maybe she doesnt because english was her second language. I said just like you, english is my second language and its upsetting that you didnt even apologize and told me you added it already, which that was a lie as the salad waS already ready before i asked her about it. Anyways she said do you want me to get the manager. I said what will he do and she said she didnt know. I said no and she walked away. Disappointed! You made a mistake and own up to it maam!!!!!!! Dont ask me if i want the manager, GET HIM!!!! Never going back!!!!!
Arguably the worst 30 dollars I ever spent in a bakery. Server took 25 minutes for our food and said they were busy, there were a total of two tables occupied counting ours in the entire place. Food was cold and somehow wet eggs?! Save your time and money!!!
The food quality at this location is disappointing. The omelets were overcooked, and the yogurt parfait had a soggy, oatmeal-like texture. I’m a regular customer at the Collin location and strongly prefer it. However, when I order delivery, my orders are often routed to this location instead, which I do not like.
Went today at 4:30 February 23, 2026 Out of 16 tables in the main dining area where fireplace is… over half the tables were there with dirty dishes and dirty floors. I asked the cashier if the tables could be cleaned and she said no bus person had arrived . And dishes looked to have been fr hours before at lunch. No fun for a business meeting:(
I dont know who the girl that was working over there in the evening of 2/12/2026 but she needs to do better. I was sitting in the car and saw her poor interaction with my Mother. Sure enough when she got back in the car, she was not happy with that cashier girl who had the nerve to ask for a tip. Especially since she didn't even put silverware in the bag. Last time I checked you dont eat salad with your hands. Never going to this location again.
12/22/25 08:30pm Worst customer service I’ve experienced at a bakery. The two ladies at the front counter were more interested in chatting with each other than acknowledging a paying customer. I stood there waiting while they ignored me completely. When they finally decided to do their jobs, it took an absurd amount of time to pack a mini dessert box because one of them was busy arguing with a male coworker about whose responsibility it was to take soups out at the end of the day. Zero professionalism. Eye-rolling and rude expressions when customers walk in is unacceptable. Management seriously needs to rethink who they hire at this location. If you don’t want to work or serve customers, don’t stand at the front counter. Absolutely terrible experience. I will never return to the Allen branch and would not recommend it to anyone.
The food is great, I just wish that they hired more competent people to work there. It shouldn’t be hard to just order a soup salad and a sandwich and somehow you forget one of the items. It just confound me. I hope that they get more competent people because every time I come back home and look forward to eating something that I ordered, I would actually like to sit down and enjoy it for once without knowing that part of my meal is missing.
Very disappointing experience. I’m a frequent customer here, but this time I was not satisfied. I ordered 3 portions and initially received only 2. Thankfully, I checked right away and the missing one was added. The portions were noticeably smaller than usual, and the food tasted different compared to the same dishes I’ve had at other locations. Crêpe la Madeleine Balsamic-marinated chicken, rice Provencal, broccoli, and Swiss cheese topped with mushroom sauce. Unfortunately, this dish was served without the RICE!!!!!!!!!! Why!???? I don’t think I’ll be ordering from this location again. It just didn’t feel worth the money. What do you think about this bread?
