This is the best sonic in Amarillo you just have to watch out for the homeless people that come up and ask you for money while you are eating.
Sonic is pretty cool. They have a large menu and everything you would want. You can either order at the drive thru window, or pull up to a stall/kiosk. The kiosks are amazing and easy to use. There is a value menu with a great variety of items. Sonic even has an app that is so simple to use, and you earn free stuff! Sonic is not the best place to eat, but it is the best fast food joint in my opinion.
I go about 3 time a week or more I spend around $200. Monthly their crew has always been great everytime I've gone there

Lots of drink choices from floats shakes to cherry cokes. Sundaes burgers hot dogs tater tots. Happy hour 2-4pm half price drinks.

Sonic has been a favorite stop since my kids were little. It was their favorite place to go for special times. They make their burgers the old fashioned way, with toasted butter buns and the trimmings. Everything they need serve is great.
Impressed they popped our drinks out really fast 14 drinks in less than 5 minutes and 2 were perfectly made shakes.

We purchased four shakes, everything was amazing except I had gotten an oreo cheesecake shake only to find out later there was no oreos in my shake. Pretty good cheesecake shake though. Keep trying guys I'm sure you can get that order right!
The s location and is amazing. It is so clean and taken care of.. They get your order right the first time and very friendly car hops. Well worth joining them for breakfast, lunch or a quick dinner.

Standard Sonic Drive-In. Service is usually quick and friendly at this location. Out of all the Sonic locations in Amarillo, this one is in my top three for service and consistency. I typically use the app for order ahead.
They were fast and the food was fresh, I have to say that's not normally the case. The corndogs were good but a little under cooked
FOOD WAS GOOD AND THEY HAVE GREAT ONION RINGS, I LOVE THEIR ONION RINGS. AND THE HAPPY HOUR FROM 2:00 TO 4:00 IS WONDERFUL!

I love my Sonic app!!! My only concern is that if I order ahead I still have to wait until drive through is clear before they bring me my drink. So....I order on the app and pick it up through drive thru. It's a win-win!!!
Kids like the corndog there. Their corndog taste consistent across the town. I give a dumb up for that. Great job. Kids were hungry and tired last night. Ate at Sonic's late at 9:30pm. Food tasted as expected great, and satisfying.
This Sonic has a drive thru. We don't eat at Sonic's often, at all, so maybe I've never really paid too much attention as to whether the drive thru is normal. The service was quick and the food was fresh. Fast food.

I ordered a number eleven and i got a five piece chicken tender and they forgot a whole chicken tender and I asked for onion rings and they gave me tator tots

The drinks was good the food not so much. The strips was over cooked the toast was Cold tarter tots was also.
To be honest we ordered a malt and it somehow got lost in the mix. We waited until I decided to call again and there she was full of appologies. Things happen. Most of the time orders are prompt.
It's Sonic. We all know the food and price so it's pretty straight forward. One Maggie issue with this location is the untimely service. On average a wait of 20-25 minutes through the drive-through is commonly expected. Be ready with some mobile games or social media whole waiting for your grub.
This specific Sonic isn't one of my favorites. My ice cream always seems like the put the bare minimal effort into making a Sonic blast. Plus my fries are ALWAYS cold never fails.
Food usually good. Order seem to get messed up every time. I tell myself not going back, end up going back to give another chance and you know what?? It happen again and again and again and not every dam time, but you know.......dam near ever time is too damn oftennnn!!!!!!!!
Great food only complaint is when they are talking to you through speaker it's like nails on chalkboard
Several of their boards weren't working. So, it's hard to ensure they have your order correct and you can't pay until the car hop brings you your food. The kid was very nice, but had to go back twice to grab stuff he forgot. Like most Sonic's, they don't blend their Blasts well and all your candy will be on the top.
The service was slow but friendly. It is happy hour so that was to be expected. Their drinks though were extremely watered down and weren't very good this go around. Definitely prefer the sonic on Washington over all the other sonics in town.
This is one of the best places to go during happy hour between 2 and 4 because you can get 99 cent corn dogs and all of your favorite drinks half price. And even if you aren't able to make it during happy hour you can usually get your favorite beverages for half price or at least $0.99 until 10 a.m. early in the morning which is also another great deal.
Extremely slow service. I think Sonic needs to figure out how to treat their employees in every location or sad to say that business is going to fail one day. They have great food though
I'm concerned about the meat in the burgers. I'm not convinced it is 100% beef. And wonder about cleanliness. I found a piece of a rag in my shake.
I don't particularly care for Sonic because they tend to get orders wrong from time to time but over all they are fast and friendly
It's a great place to go if you're in a hurry and just getting a drink but if you are ordering food be prepared to wait almost an hour and your order be cold and incorrect.
Food is alright I’m more concerned for my tea, it taste more like water than tea, and the sugar is always at the bottom
The food is always fantastic however the customer service could use some help. We always wait a minimum of 30 mins for our order and most of the time there is only 3 cars at this location.
Worst breakfast burritos I've ever eaten. The only excuse is maybe because I ordered them in the evening for dinner but they're supposed to be able to make them all day.
My Large Cherry Coke today was not very good. It actually did not taste like a cherry coke at all. Everything was weak about it. I should have taking it back but I was almost home when I took a sip of it.😞
They got it wrong! I wanted the new strawberry snowball shake with sugar crystals and I got a regular strawberry shake...but way short on the amount..maybe the person wasn't properly trained, not familiar with the 'specials' didn't know how to properly fill the cup??? And the drive through was SLOW.
PRAISE JESUS - First visit to the Amarillo, Blvd., Sonic Burger. As a senior, I had hoped to order the Jr. Burger with the included fruit drink, $3 and change. The person who took my order kept offering additional items, even a beverage on top of the beverage included in the kid's meal. I added fries but when the price appeared on the order screen, I vocalized my cancellation to a deaf monitor: There was no reply. Without communication, I decided to leave and call Sonic Burger customer service to file a complaint. The store manager extended an apology and a free food offering. He tried to make it right. I do appreciate the manager's empathy. Reviewer: Age 65, Veteran, Christian.
I usually really enjoy sonic with good hot food (minus the fries they usually come out almost cold). However today I got their premium ultimate meat burrito. Needless to say I was very disappointed. For their big burrito it was about 2x bigger than a McDonalds burrito.

How is it they always get my order wrong, even when it's repeated back to me correctly? Every. Single. Time. The sweet tea also needs some tea with their sugar.
I ordered a chocolate covered strawberry shake. They gave me a cheesecake shake. Had to go back and get that fixed. I waited to get home to open the food and check it. Upon checking the food, I ordered the pulled pork tots and added onions and chilli to it. It only had like 3 onions on it and no chilli. I also ordered onion rings that were burnt. This is the worst meal I've had at a sonic resturant. I don't think I'll be going back.
Went through drive, I kept getting cut off by cashier, got my drink size wrong, gave me the wrong size tots when I clearly ask for a large on both orders. I said no onions on my burgers but they still insisted on placing them on my burgers. Called an no one answers the phone. An then on top of all that I didn't even recieve my receipt.
IT took a long time to receive our order and the food wasn't hot. It was barely warm. Sadly the manager was the only one on car hop and seemed to have been working all day and was doing her level best.
They messed up on the order I ordered two number ones with no onions no mayonnaise then I ordered a number two with no onions no mayonnaise on toast they ended up giving me a number one on toast and the drinks they messed up on my drink they gave me a regular baby size drink when I specifically said and asked for 3 happy hour 44s along with our meals and they were screwing up on that as well they tried to make up for it by not charging me for the 44 drink and not charging me for upgrading the double when I didn't ask for that although I do appreciate some what they should have let me know that they were going to do that in trade of their screw up just giving me a another refill is not good enough they tried to apologize I didn't take that I don't want no apology I want some of my money returned back to me and they refused to do that so you people suck and I will never go to this restaurant ever again
This store has really gone south. It was lunchtime and my food, which came fast, was cold, dry and not tasty. Disappointed.
Visited this location during happy hour and service was sub par. And when we got our drinks mine was all carbonation.drinks where terrible
Went to Sonic at 9:00 p.m. and through the drive-thru we were in line for about 5 minutes and no one attended us or responded to let us know that it would be a moment. We decided to park and order and sat there for another 10 minthe button a let us know if they were closed or if they were busy. This is maybe the second time that they are not professional and what they are supposed to do for their jobs it's very rare come to sonnet and I won't return. The responses lousy if they respond.
Sat in blistering sun in drive through for longer than 20 minutes and when asked how much longer the girl in driver was rude. Manager name is Alfred and was as well rude and no apologies for the long wait on only two combos
I can't tell you her name because she didn't have a name tag. We paid with a fifty. The girl had to go back in to get change. So she took our money and our food back in. As it took her another 4 to 5 mins. When she returned and gave us the food and change our food was cold. She forgot straws and condiment's. And then had the nerve to stand and wait for a tip. Just saying service has gone bad.
Slow service. Stoner high school kids run this location so I would find a different location if I were you. My ice cream tasted so vile that I threw it out the window
Sat in the drive up 15 minutes to pick up 1 drink that was ordered on line. Could see staff inside arguing with each other. Not good for business.

Waited for about 45 min. To get chili cheese fries and a drink they never bring either or because they where out of chili but never took the time to say anything about it or they could at least bring the drink and say something about the rest of the order it was until I t push the button again and asked how much longer it was going to take for the order when they said ohh! we're out of chili spend 45 min. So yesterday, I ordered a hamburger and a soda. Everything was fine until I got home and my 9 year old showed me what looked like paint chips at the bottom of her cup! So I immediately returned and asked the manager at the time about it and she said some girl by the name of *Reva Adams handed her the drink and she (the manager) just put the lid on. It look like it was deliberately put there. And it was large enough for whoever made the drink to see it. So watch over your food and watch Reva Adams!
Service is a little slow and to make thing worst, they hardly every get my order correct. Honestly its a phone problem, was staring at a closed bag of food on the counter for about 7 minutes.. not thinking much of it. I was wondering why management don't get onto employees for being on their phone's. Then to my surprise, the closed bag is grabbed then handed to me.. my order was just sitting there for me to stare at for 7 minutes... sad that this is the only sonic that isn't miles away, maybe I should just make the longer trip. On the up side, the drive thru employee was nice and from my point of view, the only one working.
The food was quite cold and the fries tasted old or like they were fried in old oil. The fries containers were also very under filled. The slush was good... But that's the only highlight.
I stopped by there as I have done many times. Everyone ordered their drinks, I got a Rt. 44 unsweet tea, always get lots of ice. Got it took off back to home, I had another tea glass and decided to pour some of this tea into it. If there was a cup of tea in it that would be he most. Rt 44 cup was filled completely to top with crushed ice. No longer will be returning, can go next store to gas station and get a real tea.
3 weeks ago I guess someone had the same kind of experience we had. Woman taking our order was rude and clearly didn't want to take our order. The young man who brought it out was so very kind and seemed to be trying to make up for it. We didn't even order all we wanted to because she was so unpleasant. We won't be back.
The Sonic on Amarillo Blv needs new ordering screens, the girl taking our order had to be new because the process was painful, they did not understand half ice, & light ice just ment theu didn't pack the cup full of ice, my iced coffee was not made correctly, I believe they left out the flavoring..... I can say the cheddar peppers were spot on & the milk shake was good & our car hop was very pleasant
Ordered chili cheese tots. 1st time they were super soggy tots. Figured it was a fluke so asked for them to be remade. 2nd order was super soggy too. The tots were so soggy they felt like they were left in water or grease. Won't be back to that sonic.
Placed order through drive through - returned to office with two of the three burgers missing. Called, they'll "replace" - what replace, they didn't provide in the first place the burgers for free? For free - we paid for them already - that's not free. Asked for something for time and fuel to make return trip to pick up the rest of the order. Was told they can only provide coupons for food or beverages. I asked if it was free coupons. He said yes. Now I'm wondering if there is "free" food "with the purchase" of other items. SURELY hope not! If this is the case, we will NOT be returning to this franchise. Sonic Corporate makes it clear that each Sonic is a franchise.
Well I went there today and I ordered my meal and they got it wrong so I told them and then they wanted to change me because she said it they didn't hear myorder so they had to change me for the rest of my meal when I had ordered it so instead of just giving me my order right they never gave me the rest of my meal then I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager why would she lye like that I hope nobody gets treated like I did I give this place no stars

On November 13, 2025 at 1:56pm, I placed an order through the Sonic mobile app for a Pretzel Bacon Double Sonic Smasher and Groovy Fries, asking for the store to add extra crispy fried onions ($0.20 more). I also indicated that I would like a side of Buffalo Sauce with my fries, and made sure that only mustard was the only condiment on my burger (due to a mayonnaise allergy, which causes issues with my stomach). I arrived at the store within 10 minutes of my order and the staff immediately brought out my order once I checked in. Once I arrived back at work with my lunch, I was shocked to find that the burger I was given was NOT what I ordered. What I was given was a SuperSonic Bacon Double Cheeseburger. Unable to return to this store for a replacement, I proceeded to eat this incorrect meal. However, as I began to eat, I realized that this burger did not have mustard...that's right - MAYO. I immediately stopped eating and threw it away! Moving on to the Groovy Fries...they were very overcooked, borderline burnt and I did not receive the Buffalo Sauce. With that said, I submitted feedback to Sonic Drive-In through their corporate website. When asked if I would like to be contacted by the store regarding my feedback, I selected YES. However, it has been over two months, and I have not received a response from the management of this store; I had one other complaint I sent to this store months ago due to incorrect food items and service, asking to be contacted, but never was notified. When I submitted a Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint in hopes to receive a refund, this Sonic store never responded. I guess if this is how the owner/management at this Sonic is going to handle "customer satisfaction," then they've lost my business. And I'll be sure to shout this from the rooftops on every platform I can.
3 years later and this sonic still takes 10 Business days to get food
I mainly go to this sonic for drink orders and they mess it up 90% of the time. This time I went back to ask to get the correct drinks I ordered. my order came to $8.14 I paid with $20 and got $1 back... had to ask for my full change back too. The manager came out to "fix it" told her my order. Said she can't do anything without a receipt.. told her I never got one, thats their fault. She told me I have the right drinks just the wrong sizes basically...and wouldn't fix it. Won't be going back there anymore. Horrible customer service!
I went there a little after 2p. There were only 5 cars there. I ordered a medium chocolate shake and 2 soft pretzel. I waited 20 minutes for them to bring my order. I even tried the call button to see if my order had even been made but they didn't answer. I ended up leaving without my order 🤬🤬🤬
We ordered drinks through the app and once we got them, I tasted my sweet tea and it was soured. I pulled into a stall to as for a replacement and the girl who took the order was extremely rude. When I told her the tea was sour, she argued that they’d made it fresh that morning. I told her that it may have been, but it did not taste good and I wanted to exchange it. She was very rude about it and then was mouthing off about it when she brought the drink out.
I waited 5 minutes to place my order. No one took my order , so I left . Dont worry I wont return. They should close this location . They painted it blue . Its an eye sore to this community .
Don’t come here you’ll be waiting forever for a simple drink. You’ve already ordered in the app. I would’ve left, but it’s already paid for.! 15 minutes you’ve gotta be kidding me!!! It’s not the first time this place has been slow and don’t bother calling Corporate. They don’t care.
We ordered and waited more then 30 mins for our food. We was in the drive through. A guy named tanner handed us our food and basically shoved it at my husband and didn't say a word to us. We checked the order and of course we was missing food so we thought maybe he went to grab it. Nope. Instead they was in there playing and joking around my husband had to knock on the window. The girl that came to the window kept putting her fingers in her mouth and then putting orders together. Absolutely discusted.
Went to the the sonic on the boulevard in amarillo tx the ladies were not friendly had a bit of an attitude my food was ice cold and when I went back to tell them They cracked the windows shut. Customer service was horrible, ordered my food,30 minute wait for hot dog. Plus when they come out I asked for ketchup and she said “it’s in the bag” and walked away before I could look and see, I see that there was no ketchup. Stomach was upset after that food.
