Haven't been there in a while, just due to distance from where I live. Been going there since they first opened tho, and although it's not as often as I like, I always have a great time!!

Awesome bar. Peter is an expert on all things brewed. Always different beers on tap to try, should I mention there is more taps then one can count? Daily specials, extremely fair prices and excellent service. It's nice when the bartender remembers your name after months of not seeing you. 3 pool tables, darts, full liquor selection. What more could you want? Would recommend to anyone looking for an awesome local bar to hang out at!

Fun , small bar. It's like your friendly neighborhood bar. You could drink at the bar, play pool, play darts, read a book in the seating area, and even play some touch screen games at the bar. You have the option to play your own music through a app but you have to pay for tokens at a decent price!

Dive bar atmosphere with great staff, game outings, and large beer selection. They have 50+ beers by my count on tap. Including ciders, meads, a few IPA's, etc., 6 or so domestic bottle options as well. Mostly good local or state beers, with some national chains as well. No food to speak of other than periodically delivered pizza's served by-the-slice and chips /pretzels for purchase. They don't seem adverse to bringing your own meal, regulars are frequently munching on subs or other foods and enjoying the beer selection. High point is 4 dart boards with ample room for play, as well as 3 bar sized pool tables that are also given enough breathing room. Bartenders are super friendly, knowledgeable, and enjoyable to talk to. Slight beware for sporting events as they do not have a policy to mute the jukebox during big events. As an avid fan of all sports, I may be biased, but this should be a no brainer for national championships or Bills games. In summary, great bar for dart or billiard fans, or anyone looking for a large beer selection. The days are frequently very quiet and "dive-y", and the weekend evenings often have a large mid-twenties crowd typical of the eastern suburbs

This bar is a gem of Genesee Street, with its most unique attribute being the wide array of unique beers and other beverages that they have on tap. Their prices are about what an average bar would charge, and they do have drink specials and the atmosphere is that of happy-go-lucky locals looking for a delicious and unique bar experience

Such a cool place, and you'd never expect it if you judge based on appearance alone. Totally looks like a dive bar, but they have an amazingly large selection of unique beers. Awesome.

Best bar in the land. Great people great beer. Ask any regular. This place Will take your life and flip it on its tiny little beer knowing head. Ask for petes selection and youll be amazed. Be prepared for a dive bar on God mode.

Crabapples is my absolute favorite. Tons of beers on tap, more selections than you can even choose from. The jukebox has an amazing selection. There's darts, pool tables, and just regular tables to hang out if you don't want to sit at the bar. It's definitely of the "divebar" category, but a great place to hang out.

The bartender was a very friendly young lady, fast and efficient as well.

Favorite bar, open until like 4am. Perfect for much later drinkers. And if you're looking for food, they have pizza sometimes. In one night when I was there I got nine beers for maybe $12, was very very nice!

Nice place to hang out with friends for a drink... they have seating at the bar, plus they have tables if you prefer that, plus 3 pool tables, darts, jukebox, friendly bartender (I'm guessing he's the owner), and a HUGE selection of beers. If you're looking for a place with loud music, where you're shoulder to shoulder with everyone but yet can't hear what the person next to you is saying, then this is not the place for you. But if you're looking to chill with friends after a long day of work, then I'd strongly recommend checking out Crabapples! BTW, they do have music, and I like the fact that you can queue up your favorite songs, but the volume is perfect... loud enough to enjoy, but not so loud that you can't have a conversation.

Staff was very friendly and helpful while we were preparing for a beer blast taking place at Crabapples. It was my first experience there and I will definitely be back. The bartender was helpful in finding me a beer I liked because I don't usually drink the beers that were on tap. I tried a few and they were all great. There was a large selection of beer and drink options to choose from.

Great craft beer bar! Always have 50 craft beers on tap as well as bottles of common brews. Every Friday Pete taps a rare cask at 8:00pm. Four dart boards, two pool tables. Very comfortable place to relax and have a beer. Pete is very knowledgeable with what he has to offer.

Divey kind of bar with a great beer selection. Lots of high quality taps, decent jukebox, and overall everyone is very friendly there. They don't have much for food offerings, but if you're here then you're here to drink.

It was dark but cozy, about what you would expect from a dive bar. You can go to shoot pool and throw darts. Or just sit with the bros and drink at the bar. Or even a table! Or if you're more like me, sit in the corner near the fireplace and sip a beer and read. Lots of beer selections! Bartender was super cool.

This is my go-to place when I'm visiting Buffalo. I can't imagine it would be for everybody. I've always been able to drink great beers and have a great time whenever I visit.

My first time stopping into this joint. They had a decent beer/mead selection. I tried a couple meads based on the bartenders suggestion. They were both delightful. I was told the place is in between owners (or Management) and that the kitchen was not operating. The bartender was great. I don't live in close proximity to this bar but if I did it would be a regular watering hole for me. I'll definitely check it out again once food is being served.

Dive bar and restaurant¸ Patrons are mixed age and just depends on who shows up that night. Its a low key casual dress code place that has lots of space, darts, pool and cheap drinks. The con list is that it far drive for most and small parking lot.

Taps galore! They have tons of microbrews! Huge selection on tap. The bar staff is very knowledgeable and can help you decide what beer you are looking for. They also have bottled beers, liquor, mixed drinks, and wine. There are dart boards, a pool table, juke box and friendly atmosphere! Highly recommend this place.

Great place to grab cheap drinks with friends. However, really rude female bartenders. I was patient at first while waiting a good 15 minutes to get a drink because they were swamped, however a group of guys walk in and they serve them right away TWO rounds before coming to me and my friends. Wouldn't close out my tab when I asked until I had one of those guys ask for me. Unacceptable service.

Was trying to play pool with a few friends from Maryland but was denied entry because we had out-of-state IDs. The bouncer was very rude.

Bouncer was very rude and just because we were from Maryland he said that it was NY policy not to accept out of state Identification and did not let us in.

I am not sure if it is standard practice of the employees here to fraudulently charge credit cards. I ordered a drink for myself and my friend...totaling two drinks and ended up with a $53 charge on my credit card from this establishment. Will never step foot in this place again. Most expensive well vodka and soda drinks we ever had.

There for 15 mins stand at the bar with my husband couldn’t get a bar tender to even look at us much less serve us. Will never come back! Absolutely the rudest experience because they weren’t even that busy.

I was with a couple friends looking to play pool and they didn’t let us in because we had out of state IDs. Such a bad experience. They said that it was a state policy from NY not to accept out of state IDs.

Dont waste your time or money for a bar that doesnt appreciate diversity. If your not from around there or look like it or 45+ might as well go back home. Friends and I tried to give it a go but got denied entrance for out of state IDs our trip was going good untill we looked for this mess. We had already talked to another guy and he confirmed it was okay to use our out of state IDs.

Staff is very rude and narcissistic. I was told that many times before I got their but i like to be my own judge. Got up to use the restroom, when i came back, the local drunk took my seat and refused to get up, the male hostess that sat me at my seat prior, he wouldnt even look at me, refused to do or say anything. Could not own up to his mistake (it hard to find an incompetent hostess but somehow the did). Not even a refund my drink (non-alcoholic ) and the staff wouldnt even discuss it. I've been to many bars but none like this. Their fad will run out soon and the doors will shut permanently in the near future and the owner will remember this review. It's not covid hurting you business, it's your staff and food. We've all seen this type of dive bar before and they all end up broke, and I personally hope that happens, you ripped me off, they will rip you off too. Double check your bill and take your chair with you to the bathroom so you can sit when you're get back, your seat may permanently disappear and nobody's helping you and I'm not a fighter. When they do close, I hope they see this review up here. You showed no respect, I give you no respect. My opinion, dont waste your time. Time is all we got. Theirs alot nicer places with professional bartenders, servers, staff and food that wasnt frozen. Rude and unfriendly. They dont even look at you when they talk you. Only time I wanted a tip cause I sure wasn't leaving one. Me and my friends and family find this dive unacceptable and will never be back. Usually dive bars survive on good service. That's not the case here.

The host was beyond rude. I was immediately died entry because I was not “from NY.” I was a little thrown off and walked out as soon as I was denied entry. When I was in my car looking for another restaurant on my phone, the host kept walking outside to see if we were still there. I’m not sure why we were denied entry and especially why the host was treating us as though we were a threat? but overall it was a very uncomfortable experience and would NEVER come back here.

Stopped in to Crabapples while in Buffalo on 7/11/2021. Sat down at the bar, the bartender was talking to regulars for at least 10 minutes never acknowledging me. After 10 minutes another regular came in and sat at the bar and the bartender waited on him, still not even greeting me. I left the bar thirsty. Driving out I stopped at the Speakeasy right up the road to try again. I was greeted immediately, and served in less than 2 minutes. Great service. Needless to say Crabapples only had about 6-7 patrons and the speakeasy had at least 30-40 patrons.

Nearly empty building. Smelled like a slaughterhouse for questionable meat. Waited 15 minutes with no sign of a staff member. Opted to skip any further exposure to the microscopic flora no doubt infesting every surface and left without ever being served. Plenty of better locations with craft beers galore.

Everything was fine until they heard me speaking in another language with my friends, first the guy told me that everything was fine, but when they heard me speaking in another lenguaje everything change, the guy looked at me and he told me that we couldn't be there, he said that this place is only for local people knowing that I was from another state because he check my ID himself. I feel that for a business this type they should have better standards and not discriminate against no one because no one drinks or eats for free when they come to visit this state.
