ISAMU Beacon Reviews
Stopped in on Valentine’s Day for an unplanned dinner and had a great meal! The service was super fast and the food was really fresh. We both ordered miso soup, and shared a seaweed salad and steamed vegetable dumplings to start. I got the cucumber avocado rolls for my meal and he got the shrimp tempura roll, salmon avocado rolls, and sweet potato roll. Everything came out of the kitchen incredibly fast! We’ll definitely be returning soon.
My husband and I eat here regularly. Their sushi and sashimi is fresh, and served authentically, i.e. the white tuna is accompanied by shiso leaf. We’ve brought NYC friends here, who eat sushi regularly, and have commented how good the food is here. My husband who does not eat sushi but is happy with the menu’s Chinese dishes.
Foodvwas delicious..service perfect. We were together with friends we hadn't seen in a long time and were able to catch up without feeling rushed
Really good quality sashimi. We got the sushi for 2 (Small Boat), which came with miso soup and salad. Also had to order my go to shrimp shumai. Update: tried Chinese for Lunar New Year's Eve. Favorites: homemade dumplings, udon stir fry, chicken w/ broccoli. Garlic green beans also noteworthy! FYI Shrimp chow mein does not have noodles.
We were seated immediately. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. She was kind but funny. We laughed with her several times. She told us the deal for beers today. And the inside is beautiful. Also reasonably priced for sushi. Only downside was our appetizer came out after our entrees.
So impressed by the quality and quantity of food here. Particularly appreciated the udon soup having the broth in a separate container so it wasn’t soggy when we ate it later. The unagi was especially delicious! I meant to ask for an eco-friendly option. Didn’t need so much packaging (would have been fine with like items being combined) and certainly didn’t need silverware or napkins. Will ask next time, can’t wait to go back!
Update: first time I had it, the Tokyo Rose roll - with its unusual use of shiso - kind of blew me and others away. Second visit several months later, all agreed it was less impressive. So the two-visit average is 4 stars, based on a 5-star first visit and a 3-star second one. Original review: Got New Year’s Day takeout for our visiting group of friends. We were expecting typical “pretty good” sushi and dumplings from what looked to be a better-than-average small town sushi fusion place. The food across the board was better than that - sushi, dumplings and fried rice were all very tasty - but that Tokyo Rose roll was phenomenal. A very unusual use of shiso - just a great dish. Stopped by the next day on our way out of town for three rolls we ate in our car. No regrets.
Food is pretty good, Other than the stuff they put on the white rice..They call it crunch, but we don't like the flavor of it. We ask every time to leave it off and they put it on anyway. Either stupid or stubborn but if you want real, plain, sushi rice, go somewhere else. The rest of the food is good, other than the crap they put on the sushi rice, the rolls are good as is the sashimi..
I loved the atmosphere; however, the rice was not fully cooked and the chicken had a weird taste. I had to leave my food the way it was & felt like staff could have been a little more friendly.
Got charged 24.50 after calling various times to speak to them for an egg drop soup which should have been shrimp noodle soup even and an egg roll which should have been a shrimp roll. Called to ask why they sent this was advised to contact door dash. So no one could refund me my money? Worst business ever
