Ippudo on Broadway: Ramen, Buns, and a Buzz Worth Braving

If you've ever walked past Ippudo on Broadway, you know the scene. Even when it’s absolutely freezing outside, with a storm brewing, this spot is packed. My friend and I experienced it firsthand on a Friday evening around 6 PM – the place was already buzzing. Expect a wait, maybe half an hour or so, but trust me, it’s part of the authentic experience and well worth it.

Everyone raves about the ramen here, and for good reason. It’s consistently delicious, and the portions are wonderfully generous, making it a truly satisfying meal. But don't make the mistake of thinking Ippudo is a one-trick pony. Their appetizers are stellar. The takoyaki, edamame, and especially those aioli chips? Honestly amazing. They’re perfect for kicking things off and sharing with friends.

Speaking of sharing, you absolutely have to try their buns. I’m a big fan of the chicken bun – it’s just fantastic. While I personally found the Manhattan Bridge sushi good, I did find myself wishing I'd gone for the spicy shrimp tempura instead; it just sounded like it packed more of a punch. But that’s the beauty of the menu; there's always something new to try and discover.

The staff at Ippudo consistently gets high marks for being incredibly nice and attentive, which always makes a difference, especially when a place is as busy as this one often is. It’s the kind of service that makes you feel welcome even amidst the lively chaos.
