Coffee Mob Brooklyn Reviews
Everything you want in a coffee shop—friendly baristas, delicious coffee, not pretentious, and a clear love of the local community. Stopped in while traveling through Brooklyn and will definitely visit again on my next trip.
THE Ditmas Park coffee shop. Sourced and roasted by the owner, Buck, this is a great independent shop. In the winter the turmeric latte featuring their own special twist is something that is a cure all. Enjoy.
Excellent local shop. Our group got cold brew, pour overs, and a latte. All were delicious.
These guys got it right. While they are not by any means the MOB of the JaVa. They make some amazing drinks and their pastry is really good as well. Not your average StarMoney or DinkyDonuts but a REAL deal!
A great place and great coffee. Once you taste thier coffee, you cannot buy coffee anywhere else. The owner is a great guy.
This is a gem of a place. The owner is committed to bringing music and events to the neighborhood. Great drink selection and fantastic food.
Wine selection is great
Love this place. The outside seating is so nice, the staff is very friendly, and the drinks are great quality.
Great place for coffee n chilling. Coffee or wine dates as well.
The young man at the bar is lovely.
Great customer service. Really good looking Baristas. The coffee is Stupendous! Highly recommend!
Love this place. They have really good coffee, delicious bagels and baked goods and the staff is always nice.
They order their deserts so you can't really hold them accountable if they aren't as amazing as their coffee.. Which as aforementioned Is amazing!
Delicious iced coffee and pastries within Ditmus. Such a great stop while walking through the neighborhood!
Best coffee in the neighborhood and it’s not even close. And Buck is a gem. Highest recommendation.
Strong, flavorful cold brew! And the barista was nice to my young son. Good spot.
Best coffee shop in the area. The owner really knows what he’s doing, actually travels to the regions he sources his coffee from!
Amazing coffee which they roast directly there, great vibes, and top notch music music. My new fav place in the neighbourhood.
Coffee mob had excellent coffee. I've been here several times as it's the only decent coffee shop in the area. Wonderful oatmilk latte and they're always friendly to me. There's only one or two tables, but they always crank out good tunes.
A big draw for me is that Coffee Mob roasts their beans in Brooklyn themselves. Buck stocks new roasts on Tuesdays. He was keen on talking about my coffee "journey," interests, and tastes. I was able to taste a blend of same origin processed by two methods, washed and natural. (Am learning more about cultivars, origins, processing methods.) I don't like paper cups, so glad to have a saucer and spoon. Enjoyed a lemon "financier" alongside my cortado done right. (I am fussy; this was dialed in!) I only wish they could be open later hours, but understand why not. Post script: Since now additionally open as music venue, food, bar open later hours AND can get espresso drinks then too.
I love this coffee shop! I’m a coffee snob and I don’t care about anything else except coffee in coffee shops and coffee is amazing here. I visit this place a few times a week!
Coffee Mob is a great local spot to get a cup of coffee and breakfast! The staff is friendly and they actually care about the preparation of each drink. I left NYC a while back, but have been continuing to buy my coffee from them online. If you're in the area or reading this online give them a try!!!
I love Coffee Mob. It’s cool, it has flair, and it’s cozy all at once. The fish bowl fish (hopefully there post-pandemic) are cute, the bathroom is always clean, and the baristas are nice but not in your face or also not stand-offish. This has been one of my weekly pandemic-walk places.
Been going here for awhile. A good quality coffee - one within a miles radius. However, the taste of your latte would depend on your barista - some of them know how to use the espresso machine and the others just burn milk. Warmed up Ham & Cheese Croissant is to die for.
Sitting here now. Just had the most delicious jerk chicken dinner with unbelievably good home made hot sauce on the side. Really enjoying the atmosphere and the music. Will definitely come back!
Great coffee, delicious pastries/bagels, Van Leeuwen ice cream, and great customer service. The bathroom is clean, the WiFi works well, and the seating is creative for a rather small space. Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful and they have good taste in music.
My go-to spot for coffee. Their oat milk lattes and cold brew are delicious, as well as their lemonade in the summer. A little pricey but the staff and music make it worth it.
Awesome coffee shop in Brooklyn. The owner, Buck, is extremely passionate about coffee. He loves to source amazing beans from many places around the world and personally roasts them to near perfection.
cool aesthetics, knowledgeable folks, solid argument for best cuppa drip in the city. here can be found coffee bliss, you can chat up the roaster which is always a delight. tunes and shop culture are also 10/10.
A rare treasure of a coffee shop tucked away in one of the last remaining "real Brooklyn" parts of the borough. Like many of Brooklyn's hidden treasures, Coffee Mob will be off the beaten path for most who are savvy enough to persue/appreciate the 3rd wave coffee experience. This locally owned and operated establishment is a product of passion. Owner/operator simply loves coffee and loves sharing his knowledge and passion with the community. I recommend asking him to make you a Chemex while talking about his coffees; you will NOT be disappointed.
Staff and owner are super friendly. Coffee Mob's a great little coffee/espresso/tea joint with bagels and more to nosh on while enjoying hip trax at just the right volume to chill.
The recent one star review is ridiculous. The owner and people who work here are lovely people. It is impossible The reviewer is telling the truth. The food is great and the coffee is amazing. The owner, Buck, has his own roaster machine. There is even a dinner menu. The prices are quite reasonable. A friend suggested ee meet here a few weeks ago. Although I have almost never patronized coffee shops in the past, Coffee Mob has become my home away from home.
They roast their own beans here! Ask for a flat white.
Smart, funny baristas make this a fun neighborhood spot to hang out. Great coffee is a given. The pastries and snacks are also tops. Get the cold brew instead of iced coffee if you want to get extra wired. Order off menu, the "Gringo Bagel" - toasted with cream cheese, capers, red onions, and a drizzle of olive oil.
Great coffee! They make the most perfect lattes, and their signature brown sugar syrup is delicious. Nice, chill atmosphere and kind staff.
Great coffee. Really nice and patient service. If you come late in the afternoon they will be running out of breakfast stuff. That's good, tells me everything is fresh. Great atmosphere, easy to talk, music is not too loud. Beautiful ambiance and decor.
My home away from home for 12 years now. Roasting is done on site! If you're looking for the best tasting coffee in Brooklyn sourced and roasted by knowledgeable staff and ownership ( and Ive tried most), look no further. Care in every cup!
it's nice that in our time there are actors of a coffee shop with such an atmosphere and a pleasant owner, who is also a professional, who roasts coffee himself and his foam on coffee is magnificent))) and the price is not important, thank you and many years of work to you
Coffee Mob is a hipster-hangout coffee place, and I mean that in the best way! Their coffee is excellent. They have really interesting and tasty pastries, and a menu of small but scrumptious empanadas. They have a giant pet goldfish, who keeps outgrowing his tank. They have doggie treats available on shelves at dog height. The service is at the counter, but generally very good. So nice to have a non-Starbucks place in the neighborhood! The atmosphere is chill, and people often work from their tables.
Good coffee in the area and Brittany Batista is very sweet. Lots of space to work in the cafe too. Never crowded!
Love the staff, the coffee, and the vibes. Always great music, and friendly service. For sure a gem in Flatbush.
I can't express enough how much i adore this cafe! The staff if so friendly and knowledgeable, and I love how interactive the owner is! They have their own roasting facility IN HOUSE! I've become completely addicted to the smell on their roasting days. Today, I used my punch card for a free drink! The espresso is creamy, nutty, with a mildly sweet finish 😋 the shop has such a rustic charm...and apparently! There is live music on the weekends! Definitely worth stopping in for a sip or two!
So glad to have Coffee Mob! A treasure to have a roaster, great coffee, espresso, variety of teas and quality food too! Family run, music events, and as a coffee ‘snob’ I come back for the espresso:)
I’ve been away for 4 years and it’s still the best cup of coffee south of prospect park! The new location is lovely too, it’s airy, green, and spacious, with excellent art and a nice bathroom too. The owner is an expert and takes his craft seriously- this isn’t just a business, it’s a passion. Worth paying 20% more than nearby options.
I visited this authentic coffee shop five years ago and returned again to enjoy the excellent coffee. The cappuccino is, as always, magical. Please note that the address has changed. The coffee shop is located next to the C Town store. (I have attached a photo) You can also enjoy coffee outdoors, where there are tables and green bushes that create a pleasant atmosphere.
☕ A great coffee shop for true coffee lovers! 🌿🎶 The coffee here is rich, aromatic, and perfectly brewed – just what you need for a refreshing morning or a cozy break. 💯🔥 🎵 Great music creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere. 🚇 Convenient location – just a few steps from the subway, making it perfect for a quick stop or a leisurely coffee break. Highly recommend for anyone who loves quality coffee and stylish spots! 💛
Friendly staff and I loved the selection of vegan pastries. A little pricier than comparable coffee shops that I’ve been to (never been charged $4.50 for an iced americano before)
Coffee is REALLLY good. Prices are pretty high in comparison of most places. Not many people seem to go. Ambience and vibe could be worked on
I love this selection it doesn't take long to get what you order and most of the time your orders actually right believe it or not that like some places where your order comes really really fast and then they forget most of exactly everything you said more than one
Only tried the coffee. Definitely a bit on the expensive side. One of the better coffee spots in the area.
Coffee amazing, pastries delicious. Coffee Snob has moved across the street. The crowd was friendly, the light great. I could see myself hanging out…as long as I could mobile order.
I came here with my date after we spent two hours walking around in the freezing cold looking for somewhere to have lunch. We figured we would stop here to check the GPS and have some hot chocolate to warm our spirit and bodies up. The hot chocolate was delicious but they didn't have whipped cream! But the barista was nice enough to give me loads of marshmallows instead to make up for it. The hot chocolate wasn't very sweet but it was tasty. We also got a chocolate chip cookie and a brownie. The brownie was a bit dry but the crispy chocolate chip cookie was delicious. I would have licked the plate clean if I wasn't on a date. The shop itself is very small with limited seating [they do have a bathroom though!]; but the seats are sort of cool. They are built into the wall but they don't offer back support. On a side note, be sure to bring cash as they don't accept cards and the menu is on a chalkboard to the left of you when you come in.
Cool, unassuming hipster coffee venue with genuinely delicious coffee. Great workspace. Cozy. They were playing some great trip-hop when I visited - nice trip down 1990s memory lane.
small batch goodness! love a lowkey joint n crafters that can talk to you about their practices > "we're indebted to the world by breakfast" most esp if ya drink coffee! 10 oz of water and a shot that won't burn my tongue, my stomach, or my conscience, yes please 4 bc they wouldn't let me steal their plants 🤷🏾♀️🧡
I went in for a coffee, because I have passed the place a few times and had high hopes. Firstly let me say that was the most delish danish I have had in a while, but the iced coffee I had was incredibly sour, no amount of milk or sugar could mask it, and so I told the gentlemen there and asked for a drip coffee instead, but even that was sour, and also I have never had coffee that was orange, maybe a tint of orange, but this with half and half was actually orange. A waste of money, sadly. I wouldn't recommend someone go in for a nice cup of joe, stick to the bodegas or head to starbucks. Me ill just stick to my bustelo and french press at home.
the staff and atmosphere were great , only had the matcha and it was a little too milky. Food menu online isn’t current is another small downfall. They only have empanadas and some baked goods. Bonus: there was a fish in a tank
The old location used to be my favorite coffee spot, and it was worth the price because it was genuinely delicious and made well! The cold brew I got recently tasted way off and I had to toss it. When I sat at a table to drink my coffee and do some work on a random afternoon, they suddenly started blasting music and wiping the floor around me, and it felt like they were trying to get me to leave. Not sure what's going on or why they would expand into a bigger venue if they don't want people to spend time in there, but I genuinely wish they would figure it out! I miss the old coffee mob. For the price of the coffee I dont think it's too much to ask for it to taste good, or for the atmosphere to be more welcoming.
$7.50 for a small iced latte (whole milk) then of course I’m going to tip so $8.50 for a small dairy iced latte… a bit much … if it was less I’d be getting one every day on my way to work. Coffee is roasted there so I guess it’s specialised which I appreciate (although i think drinkable well extracted shots should be the standard anyway) but still just too expensive to justify
Pretty disappointing since they moved across the street. There's no coffee menu displayed anywhere (odd choice for a coffee shop) and food menu items are listed on individual scraps of paper at the counter. Coffee is good but overpriced. Front space has a nice atmosphere and a lot of seating, but that's rather spoiled by the very messy open kitchen area on full display behind the counter.
Remodeling? Closing?? No one cleaned in a few weeks??? Not sure which one but at 2 in the afternoon it was very uninviting on the inside, to the point I had to ask if they were actually open for business. No music, lights, food on display, atmosphere, nothing..
No food, no croissants Poor service They don’t let you inside You can get only drink, I’ve got a coffee Small late for 6.26$ !? I didn’t know the price guy took my credit card and walked inside I didn’t get a receipt Checked the price in my credit card history There are a different coffee shop few blocks away Take a walk to it
The prices are wildly obnoxious. A large latte is $9.25! I refused to spend that much on coffee and got a small (tiny & obviously way overpriced as well), which was scalding hot and tasted burnt. Cafe Madeline on Courtelyou charges $5.50 for a large latte that actually tastes good. I'm trying hard to understand why there would be an almost $4 difference and why the owner thinks this price is acceptable in this neighborhood.
Very small place. Definitely not for people who would like to spend some time in a coffee shop. On their website, it is said that they open till 7 pm. But it is not. They close at 6:30 pm. I also tried some vegan cake and it was too too too sweet. Will never go again.
This is a cute place but the coffee is so sour! I can only get espresso based drinks. However friendly staff and they do a very good americano! I just don’t like there coffee.
The new space is depressing and very antiseptic. I liked the little corner space across the street a lot more. The coffee is fine.
Place blows, guy working had his earphones in on another conversation and was too cool to open his mouth to speak to me. Very crunchy granola vibe, however coffee is $26 a bag. My mocha latte tasted like c rap. Similar to the music
Usually very good coffee, but the new barmsta makes the coffee quality worse than starbucks
Literally toilet water yuck. DD few doors down for a quarter of the price and better, if not 100X better. Go to Dunkin please.
Coffee is overpriced given that there’s no charging outlets, which is annoying and inconvenient. Large coffee is 9.50 for reference.
Mediocre hot coffee for 4 dollars, which is the cost of a handcrafted espresso drink. On the other hand, the location is small and cozy.
Found out that the staff here were charging me double or triple price for a small 6oz coffee. Haven't been back since.
Yea. So I stepped inside cause it’s raining outside and I didn’t want to get soaked while waiting for my appointment next door. Came inside to 5 people and 20 open seat. (Not busy or crowded) One of the workers come to me (pretty respectful) hey do you want to something I’m like nah I just came in cause the rain. He says “yea we might need this seat” Lolololololol. For Who?? No one is here
This place is overly expensive and the owner is greedy. I understand it's coffee from Cuba or wherever, but they charge for the smallest things like ice --I kid you not I once ordered an iced latte and my total was about $10 and the owner said, "Oh wait, I forgot to charge you for the ice" and my total was now $12. Don't you just love being charged for solid water? ...another incident, I ordered a small coffee, and my total was $2.75, and later when I checked my bank account, I was charged $3.75. They took tip from me without my permission! And a whole $1 too! I don't go here often and the only rare time I will go here is when I'm running late and don't have time to stop anywhere else, because this place is very close to where I live. Just another inconvenience of gentrification. Avoid this place and support other local coffee shops around here, may I suggest Coffee Z?
I stopped by to get just a drip coffee and waited a while just to be told that they had no drip because it was sitting too long...This is the third time this has occurred..also there was a dog that was freely walking behind the counter and everywhere in the store. That is a safety hazard. I don't know how how rules run there but very very unprofessional.
Don't bother. The coffee is nasty acidic and ovwepriced. So acidic that it breaks down half n half into flakes... "because of how we roast it"... Find a better way to roast it then?? Also 3.25 for a drip coffee in a size that's a small in any other world is pure robbery.
I was liking this place until the owner chased me out of his cafe -- after I paid $18 for two cups of cap and two pastries. He yelled up the street at me that I owed him money. Seriously dude. That's tacky particularly since I paid you.
Nice place to use the bathroom as they don't mind if you don't order anything
Nearly $10 for an iced mocha with oat milk. Never ever in my life have I paid so much for a coffee, even in the city - so the price alone is absurd, especially for a drink that isn’t made and mixed properly. The chocolate they use was stuck to the lid and bottom, and the drink tasted like watered down nesquik chocolate milk. If this was quality coffee, I would consider the price (maybe), but in this case you would be better off saving half your money and going to Dunkin instead..
Stopped by after a date to get some work done, but the experience was bizarre from start to finish. The place was nearly empty, yet the owner (?) was inexplicably hostile. After my girlfriend ordered an outrageously overpriced tea, I went to grab a glass of water and was met with an aggressive lecture about needing to "support small businesses"—despite the fact that we had literally just made a purchase. When I asked about the menu, the hostility escalated. The owner ranted about us "taking up too much space" (again, the place was nearly deserted) and seemed irritated that I even inquired about the offerings. When I finally got a look at the menu, it was an overpriced, uninspired selection. We left almost immediately. To top it off, the owner was loudly cursing someone out on the phone, adding to the uncomfortable atmosphere. Overall, a truly strange and unwelcoming experience. Won’t be back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
This place would have potential if they lowered the prices and upped the quality of their drinks. It's so transparent how hard they try to be a 'cool' 'hip' coffee place but it's kind've a flop. Their coffee is insanely overpriced, especially for the area. $5.00 for a medium drip coffee is wild lmao they don't even charge that in Williamsburg. It was lukewarm and there were coffee grinds in my cup. My friends Cold Brew tasted like water. Flatbush/Ditmas Park deserves better. I recommend Grizzly Coffee on Coney between Newkirk and Foster. Superior in every way.
I came for a morning experience and... I got one. Empty space with an unfriendly staff. Coffee was far from being nice, very acidic. I support businesses such as this one time to time, but I'll make an exception on that one.
Ok so I called ahead of time to ask if they were open and the man said until 11 p.m and they have a live band today (Wednesday) and I said is there going to be space for me to do work on my laptop and have some coffee, and he said not unless I sat outside. Once I get there, I find out there’s no coffee menu or tea menu and he proceeded to let me know that there’s no charging allowed. Horrible service and I then I just said what’s the reason for the no charging, he just said the owner said so but there’s no policy. Don’t recommend at all.
Whoever is the man that Work there in the morning today, February 11 always has an excuse as to why he cannot serve coffee. This is the third incident with him today he tells me that the store is opening later hours Meanwhile, the door was open at 7:30
Walked in and wanted to ask a question to the bartender on staff… bartender went directly on his phone. Left since the call was clearly more important than the customer. The old coffee mob barista was more accommodating in my past visits at their old location… First impressions are everything.
