Harefield Road Brooklyn Reviews
East Williamsburg local bar with awesome food options. Perfect for your Sunday brunch with the whippersnappers!
Great place for brunch! Very reasonable price and the food is delicious.
Goat talk, rank 1 brunch in bk. espn 30 for 30 presents, an actual well priced brunch with god mode food
Amazing brunch. Nice homey vibe with great service. Felt like being back in Ireland!
Great atmosphere and drinks. Their brunch on the weekends is a great deal.
A great dive bar where you can get a proper pour of Guinness, good selection of whiskey. The grilled cheese sandwiches are also KILLER
This is THE bar. Look no further. Drinks and space are perfect but it’s the wonderful bartenders who make Harefield what it is.
Chill vibe, good drink selection that's easy on you're wallet, and a super sweet devilishly handsome bartender. Whats not to love?
One of the only quiet and cozy bars around with a nice backyard. No TV or loud music here. Also it's pretty dark inside and outside (sometimes too dark)
The best brunch in NY state. Great food, amazing staff, even have a patio for summer days.
The best bar in bk!! Friendly staff, great Guinness pours!
Met a couple of girlfriends for a cocktail to discuss an upcoming wedding for one of the girls! Service and cocktails we're fantastic
Great brunch! $14 for a meal, mimosa/bloody mary/ orange juice, and coffee/tea! Good service too even if the tables are tiny.
I only go there for the weekend brunch. They serve brunch for $13 bucks on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-4 I believe. Food is great!Service is great and you can’t beat the price!
Best bunch deal in the area. Cash only and you'll only be seated once your whole party has arrived. The owner is frequently there and runs a great operation. Bar is a lot of fun, too
My favorite bar ever!
The BEST laid back, no frills bar/brunch spot. The owner is so friendly, the staff is great, the vibe is wonderful. I’m over the moon happy that they are back in action after the pandemic!
I go here often for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Nice atmosphere and very good food. Staff is friendly and attentive.
One of my favorites. This is one of my places to meet up with friends. They have a sweet little out door space and brunch there is delicious. Always have a good time there.
This place is the jam. $12 brunch on the weekends including coffee and a mimosa or Bloody Mary with food. The breakfast burrito is like putting a little piece of heaven into your belly.
Great portions for brunch. It is very popular so there is always a line but it usually goes fast. The food is great also so come hungry.
One of the best brunch in NYC. The only downside but not really, that is cash only so come with cash, other then that it’s great..... recommend!!!
this is a very good bar to go to with your friends, plenty of big group seating areas and lots of room to hang out. and they always keep the music at an appropriate volume so you can actually talk to each other which is hard to find at williamsburg bars these days. i love it here and the drinks are so good and they really make em strong. this is a go to local spot i love it. i love their cosmos.
Lovely brunch spot. The staff are warm and friendly, food is delicious with generous portions, and their bloody mary is perfectly spiced. Update: this is a neighborhood favorite, can't recommend it enough!
Stopped in for a quick brunch, and it was great! $14 for one main, one brunch drink, and one caffeinated drink. A lot of the options looked good, but I eventually settled on the Cajun chicken sandwich. The bread, chicken, melted cheese, and caramelized onions came together beautifully and made for a great sandwich. Can't wait to come back and try some of the other things on the menu.
Was there for brunch on a Sunday morning. Were seated immediately, although 30 minutes later the place was packed. Staff was very attentive and very nice. Food arrived soon after ordered, the plates were loaded. Food was fabulous. Lots of families with young children made the place even more enjoyable. We will definitely return to Harefield Road!
Great weekend brunch place! Only $13 for mimosa or bellini, free refill of coffee or tea, and brunch entree. Had the Harefied Eggs Benedict - had a bit of a kick to it. They don't take reservations, and sometimes have a wait, but worth it!
Go regularly at night, tried brunch for the first time, AMAZING! Fantastic service, an unbeatable brunch deal, and very good food. Would highly recommend
This is one of my favorite brunch spots in NYC! A block away from the L train off Graham Ave makes it an easy access spot for friends from different boroughs to brunch at. Bring CASH as it's a CASH ONLY spot, but not to worry this bang-for-your-buck ($12) includes your meal, choice of tea or coffee AND a mimosa or bloody mary. With $20 you brunch, grab yourself another mimosa and still leave a decent tip! Happy Brunching!
The atmosphere there is friendly and warm. The cider there was pretty incredible. It was a white cider that had a spiced finish to it. I can't remember the name but that's maybe for the best so you can go and try it yourself!
Love this place. Weekend brunch is cheap, delicious, big portions and comes with coffee/tea and a mimosa/bloody Mary. The space is rustic and airy, staff are all really nice. NOTE: CASH ONLY.
Been here for brunch many times over the past year. A great little cheap brunch spot ($12 for food and a drink). Their challah french toast is amazing! Haven't had a bad thing on the menu.
Great food, GREAT PRICE, adorable.putdoor patio with shade, wonderful service. Cash only $15 for everything, was not any wait on a Sunday around 12 which was shocking since it's such a gem. Got crowded later on but the staff didnt rush you out. Tip well because they deserve it and you can probably afford to since it's so cheap!!
I've never had a corner bar to call my own in NY after 20 years of living here, so I was pretty surprised when HF became that bar. The staff is amazing, there's a great back patio, the crowd is diverse and friendly, and it's pretty much ruined beer selection for me - every time I go to a Manhattan bar now and there's no IPA on tap I curse HF for turning me in to a beer snob. Brunch is also great - and comes with a drink.
This is one of my favorite brunch spots! For $13 you get a cocktail, coffee, and a meal! Great atmosphere and staff! Can't beat it for the price.
Great little spot in the neighborhood with an awesome weekend brunch! We come here often and are always happy with the experience. 10/10 recommend!
Cheap brunch, free mimosa, huevos rancheros is usually hit or miss but this place does it right. Bonus points for the cute outdoor space. Looks like they have amazing happy hour pricing as well.
Love it, going there everytime I'm in town. Brunch is fantastic 20$ including a mimosa or bloody mary.
My favourite bar in this whole city. Great range of whiskys and bourbons at very fair prices. Throw into the mix very friendly staff in a cosy wooden atmosphere. This place has never disappointed.
Harefield Road is my go to - whether for a beer with the guys, date night with my wife, or holiday celebration. Cheers!
Ok always been obsessed with Harefield. Don’t get me started about the brunch….UNREAL! And now the dinner menu??? What are yall trying to do to me 😭?!!?! Can we please talk about the steak sandwich and curry fries? Just go ahead and go right now. Thank me later.
Absolutely delicious! Prices are great and it is a perfect brunch spot. Service was super nice and not pushy, which can happen in a lot of breakfast places. I had the avocado and the salmon toast, so good!
Fantastic brunch experience - went on a rainy day (8/22/21) and very few people there, lovely quiet meal with friends. The things I think of as 'brunch' were lovely and delicious - french toast, salmon toast, eggs, potatoes - and the turkey wrap a friend got was fine. Not bad, just not exciting like the other things. They were accommodating of me not being able to eat eggs, and substituted them out. To top it all off, amazing prices - $18 for brunch, including coffee and mimosa?? In Brooklyn??!? I was blown away. (Cash only though, so come prepared) Highly recommend.
This is my favorite go to bar. Brunch is awesome and consistent. Everything is delicious. The staff aren't the warmest but the service is great. Beer, wine, and whiskey selection is great. Nice bar with dive bar prices. Neighbor hood staple.
Absolutely beautiful bar great drinks awesome vibe
Awesome place! Attentive bartender and nice lighting!
Brunch was great. I normally don't get steak and eggs, but for some reason I took a chance. I was not disappointed. The beef was cooked to perfection. They asked me how I wanted it done. This place is is one of the good ones.
ive always loved this place but my recent birthday experience compelled me to share that opinion online! john was so helpful, kind, and organized in last minute hosting my group when our first venue fell through, the vibes were cozy, welcoming (he kept checking in) and perfect for the holidays. i realized he’s always that way, even just for brunch - and i even brought a group there for bday brunch two years ago, you can’t beat the brunch deal and the quality! the space is great for cozy booths and fresh air moments with the courtyard too. the bartenders are also friendly and attentive. i love the cozy winter cocktails and candlelit atmosphere. this is one of the spots that has made me stay in the neighborhood for so long. 10/10 would recommend!
I’ve been going to Harefield Road since 2010 for brunch periodically. The huevos rancheros have not changed in 15 years and are incredible. Brunch is cash only but a good deal. Go early for no wait.
Cheap brunch that includes an entree, coffee and mimosa or bloody Mary for $25! Cash only during brunch but drinks are relatively on the lower end considering the area. Friendly wait staff and a new food menu. Fried chicken sandwich and steak sandwich are must tries.
One of our absolute favorite places in NYC. Fantastic brunch, great pints and drinks, and the best service. We had our family and friends for an event the day after our wedding and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Forever grateful and will keep coming back nearly every weekend.
Love this place! The owners and staff always make you feel welcomed. They’re super friendly and accommodating. Their brunch is an amazing deal especially for how delicious their food is The BEST turkey club that i cannot stop ordering. Its hand carved and so deliciously moist. Ive never had turkey like that before. Small menu and cash only (ATM on premises) but everything they make is delicious. Go for a warm inviting pub or enjoy their delicious brunch on the weekends.
Came back for the delicious brunch (previously came to watch soccer and drink) and I am so happy I made this choice. $18 brunch for delicious food, mimosa and coffee! Turkey Club sandwich was huge! Service was prompt and friendly. There was no pressure to get us out the door either like other brunch spots. It's a cash only restaurant, but there's an ATM in the premises. Great atmosphere, great food, great value, what more could you ask for? Definitely coming back soon
Very cute place, would have never known it was there if it wasn't for a local telling us about it! Food is great, definitely a must try place!
Fun bar. Heard they have a great brunch but wasn't able to partake.
Amazing brunch. Quick service. Great prices! Quality isn’t lost in casual dining experience.
Disappointed to learn when we got there that food wasn't served during the week. However, bartender was very friendly and the $5 Bloody Marys were pretty darn good!!!
Best deal for brunch in the neighborhood. The food is great and it's only $12 which includes a drink. They have outdoor seating in the back.
Super cheap brunch. For $13 you can get a bloody mary or mimosa, and your choice of an entree. The menu was decent sized and everything was good.
$6 taps and a great whiskey list. Cash only. Nice wooden bar with a friendly barkeep. What more do you need?
Good place to grab brunch off of the Graham L stop. The food isn't anything to write home about but the meals come with a coffee and a bloody/mimosa. The prices on their website don't reflect the current pricing. At the time of my last visit it was $15 for the brunch special. Great outdoor patio when it's nice out.
Went here for brunch on a Sunday. There was no wait which was great, considering brunch spots get packed quickly on Sundays. The food was good. I had the eggs benedict while my friend had the grilled chicken sandwich (which was actually pretty amazing). Ambience is typical and fitting for the Williamsburg scene. There's a decent amount of outdoor seating as well - good perk!
Harefield Road is a great place to have a a beer during night or have a brunch in the morning. Their 14 dollar brunch is great value and very tasty. I was disappointed once by their egg benedicts but they refreshed the menu and took them off recently! Staff is always friendly and the place is never too crowded.
Gets a bit crazy on weekend mornings for brunch, but it's an awesome place. Friendly staff, awesome beer selection. Very dark and intimate - it's like a cave even in the middle of the day.
It was nice and cozy. Brunch was tasty, and was a good deal for $13 that comes with a mimosa and coffee. A bit slow service, but I'd definitely recommend.
Can't speak to the food, but overall it's a nice bar with a good selection. Warm, inviting old wood interior. The back porch is pleasant, if a little stark. Occasionally the host live music which is a nice touch.
The food is great. Small al la cart items which are all amazing. For take out it’s great. The seating is really poor. You’ll be on a stool hunched over an ikea-esque coffee table or inside at one of three wood bench tables that could use some cushions.
Wasn’t my favorite place for brunch. Just standard fare. The free coffee speaks for itself— I wouldn’t pay for it ever. Very burnt and bitter and had tasted like it was just sitting out for a while. Portions and price are fair.
Nice place. Draft beers are a little pricey at $8-$10. Table service was very slow.
Harefield’s brunch used to be a great deal—$18 for coffee and a mimosa. It’s now $24, which is understandable with inflation, but the quality has slipped. i.e The home fries/potates have been bland and taste like they’ve been reheated or sitting under a heat lamp. It’s been the same the last few visits. Fingers crossed it’s just a kitchen hiccup, because I’d really like to keep supporting this local spot. Hoping to give it 4 stars on the next visit!
Cash only - not a legitimate bar. We got tied up in their accounting bureaucracy, having to close our tab and open a new one at 4pm because some person happened to be leaving.
I went here a few times with my cousin and it's a different issue everytime I go. She got wine that tasted disgusting and I got a cocktail that wasn't made properly. The same thing happened the other three times we went. I do not recommend this place at all.
Female bartender that pretends 25% tips just being RUDE! that is funny
The bartender working the brunch shift is very weird and kind of rude (MIA, overcharged for drinks, she flat out says no to a *basic* drink request that are on the menu and available). Really makes for a very uncomfortable experience. Can't say we'll be back. It's a shame because it is a cozy space.
Staff was incredibly rude and drinks were poorly made.
Bartender was incredibly rude, pressured me to buy more drinks/food or else get out even though the bar was hardly half full
Read the reviews and was super excited to try the Bloody Mary's and food. Got the eggs Benedict that came out without holendaze and served with French friend. The Bloody tasted like cheap watered down vodka. Didn't eat or drink my meal, paid and left.
Came inside this cozy bar, we had some drinks and after our second round we asked the bartender for water he said it was on some pitchers on the back area and those where emptie, went back to the bartender for water and he said we have no water anymore here. Really???? He seemed drunk and extremely rude.
Came here with a friend for food and drinks, walked in and we were not greeted or acknowledged whatsoever. Me and my friend grabbed a table and the bartender was more than aware that we were there and did not say a single word to us. There were people sitting at tables and a man at the entrance who bussed a table occasionally, and not a single employee acknowledged us. Think we made it pretty obvious that we were waiting for some sort of acknowledgement and after sitting there for over 15 minutes decided we did not want to give a business like this our money. I work in the restaurant industry as well, and my manager would rip me a new one had we treated any guest this way. 9:00pm on Saturday December 21st was time we were approximately there. To the manager of this place, please be aware of what’s going on. Not a very good look for any establishment and I truly feel offended as people who walked in after us were greeted
Rudest bartender I have ever encountered — I was at this bar last night, I ordered a gin & soda. I paid (tipped 20%) and then took a sip and realized she gave me tonic instead of soda. When I told her about the mistake, she took my drink, dumped out 70% of the drink filled it with soda and then threw it back to me. I asked for refund since she threw out most of the gin in my $12 drink and she completely ignored me. I had to go get the other bartender to resolve it, which he did. After this the female bartender was basically raging (she had been having an attitude since we arrived). She was throwing drinks and bottles across the bar, loudly banging things. I’ve never seen anything like it. I’ve also worked in service — I get that sometimes you have a bad night, but the way she treated me and the rest of my group was completely unacceptable
Was at the bar talking to a friend of mine who just ordered their lunch. I finished my beer and was still conversing. I was done drinking. While talking to my friend the bar tender told me I had to leave my stool if I wasn’t drinking or eating. I was not pleased at the fact I was told to vacate my stool as I was in the middle of a conversation with my friend. THERE WAS NOBODY IN THE STOOLS. I got up. 8 stools were wide open! Love this place if you want to get kicked out for no reason.
they charged me almost $4 for plain soda water that came from the fountain lol. And my friends beer came with a clump in it
I have called everyday for the past three days and even put in a contact request on their website to resolve a billing issue with no word back. I am not from NY so I am unable to walk into the bar myself. I ordered drinks and fries on my tab and when i checked out, he had only rung up the fries. I did my best to list all the drinks I had, only to realize when I was sober the next day that my friend had paid for some of my rounds. I understand that mistakes happen, but expecting a drunk person to write up your bill for you feels unethical now that i know I overpaid by a good amount. If this happened again, I wouldn't be as kind to help the bartender out since i was there for fun not work, and ended up feeling scammed. I simply want to get those drinks removed from my bill and money returned but I have no idea how to get in contact with them. Very unorganized staff and the TVs were also in horrible placements to enjoy the game. Curry fries were also bland and soggy, I barely ate even a third of it.
Lady behind the bar needs a reality check, which she wont get when the other bartender is covering her attitude. We get it buddy, you dont have a dad! 0/5
Female bartender is extremely rude, unfriendly and TERRIBLE at pouring Guinness. I don’t usually leave negative reviews but this experience left me feeling really uncomfortable. I know this bar operates on a system where you flag down the bartender when you need something, which is totally fine and not the issue. What bothered me was what happened when we asked to close out. About five minutes later, another bartender, who I assume was just starting their shift, came by and asked if we needed anything. We said no, we were just waiting to close out. That bartender must have passed the message on because we then overheard our bartender say, “I know, they’ve asked me five times already.” That simply wasn’t true, and hearing that felt unnecessary and frankly a bit rude. When she came over to close us out, I politely explained that we hadn’t asked again—someone else had just checked in during a shift change. We weren’t trying to rush or pressure her. And we didn’t say anything about the terrible drinks she made. We came in with a good attitude and were respectful the entire time, so it was frustrating to be talked about like that. I really hope it was just a misunderstanding but it left a bad impression, which is a shame because we live just a few blocks away and this was a convenient spot to stop by after getting off the subway. That said, there are plenty of nearby places with great bartenders and good attitudes.
This place seemed really great and the drinks were fine, but the girl at the bar has a nasty attitude, especially last night.
After reading the reviews I realized it must have been the same bartender. I did manage to get her name Missy was super unpleasant truly made this place feel like a shitty place. She was super unfriendly yelling that they didn’t hold cards and when she realized she did have my card she proceeded to yell at me to just sign while over charging. She deserves to get fired I truly have never felt more pressured at a place where I should be just having a good time.
Came here twice— the first time, they served us Guinnesses but in non-Guinness glasses (despite being a Guinness bar and having tons of clean, unused Guinness glasses). Then, after we told them we wanted to close out, they didn’t give us a receipt / let us choose our tip selection on the POS machine). Weird. We came back later that evening and asked the bartender if their seasonal beers were on tap. No, she said. Instead, we ordered two bel-air sours, which were listed under the tap beers on the menu (picture attached). She confirms we want Bel-airs and then pulls out two bottles and pours them into pint glasses. Weird. Turns out she gave us the wrong beer (obviously)— we found a picture of the bottle, and she gave us Delirium Belgium ales. Not sure how that’s possible. Vibe seems nice, but I recommend being vigilant if you end up coming here. I’ve never felt like I needed to pay close attention to a bartender pour beers / close tabs, so this was definitely a first for me. Very frustrating.
We went there after a show at Brooklyn Steal and the female bartender there interrogated us like crazy. I was with 2 friends chatting having a good time at the bar, she first came over and asked us if we needed anything and when we said we were good she continued to berate us with question asking us why we were there and what we were doing multiple times. We explained we just came from a show and were just looking for a nightcap. She didn’t seem to like that answer and kept asking strange questions and starring at us. We were so uncomfortable and didn’t even finish our drinks, got up and left immediately. If you like an NYPD style interrogation come here for an extremely uncomfortable time.
