Jey Diner Brooklyn Reviews
From the moment we walked in the hospitality was amazing then the food came out amazing also. French toast is on point love the turkey bacon here. Will come again.
Very tasty. Fast and accurate service. Prices are reasonable.
A wide menu of amazing food options with very sweet and attentive wait staff.
very authentic, fresh. wonderful owners. 100% will be coming back!
nicest ppl around, reasonable prices, crazy large menu, fries are very well seasoned
Very nice service. They have the best lentil soup that I ever had. Veggie burger was good. I liked the thick bun.
Really good, especially for the price. Food was well seasoned and fresh. Service was attentive but discrete. Space is small but cozy.
Most definitely the best place you can order from Amazing employees ever. customer service is amazing wait time is just as they stated the presentation is everything and lastly it’s not over priced and has great flavor ❤️
The food is really good. We had différent platz (french fries, burritos, lasagna, faritas, spaghetti, etc). The price is good as well. We recommend at 100%. You can take away also and command by phone.
Every weekend that I come to NY this is my MUST go to breakfast stop. EVERYTHING is made with love!!! If you have never been or are looking for a great breakfast/lunch/dinner this is the place.
Unassuming facade from the outside but this little diner turned out to be QUITE the hidden gem. Everything from the spinach eggs benedict to french toast to the home fries came out perfect with a touch of love. Staff is great, prices are great! Give it a try.
Had breakfast here and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Had the French toast with fruit which was presented very well and tasted great. Also had the breakfast burrito which was incredible!! Service was brilliant as well, the lady serving was really friendly. Would recommend!!
Such a kind & lovely business. Definitely hits the most random cravings perfectly.
Such a pleasure finding this little gem. I had a great time eating delicious food at Jey Diner, the waffles were amazing. Everyone is super nice and friendlt and provide great service. The menu gives you such variety and can't wait to try it all.
Solid service and food, great mix of breakfast and lunch. Plenty of drink varieties. If you're visiting NYC looking for a small place that has food at awesome prices, come here. Nothing over the top and no gimmicks, straightforward and worth every penny.
Today was the second time I ordered from here I ordered burgers and let me tell you they are delicious and they have fries I haven't tried before but they're very good as well and the lady in the front is always in a good mood and she's very nice and friendly will definitely keep coming and maybe try other things on the menu 🙂 I usually order pick up since it's not far from where I live you won't regret coming here 😊
Even if the decor is nothing special the food is spectacular, It's a local gem i dare ya try the Benedict poached eggs on Polenta. You will have your mind blown away.
Delicious breakfast burrito & omelette, great service! We will be back!
Low key spot! Breakfast was really good and Eddie the waiter cares about the customers. You should definitely give this diner a try. Eddie is very professional and makes you feel welcomed. 👍🏻👍🏻
Had lunch with four others and we were all very happy with the service and the food. I had an omelette with cheese, pepper and onion. The food put many other places to shame, especially those back home in the UK.
The divine nature of our world is brought to the mouths of us humans through the food offered at Jey Diner. Get the chicken po boy and put all the sauces on
i was going to a gallery next block and ate burger there. very delicious, family owned lovely place! 5+
Best burger I’ve had in a year. These people are wonderful. I’m so glad my son lives next door so I get to eat here often!
This little gem of a place is great. You're greeted with a friendly hello, have a seat, I'll be right with you. A warm welcoming feel. The food was Amazing! I had chicken and waffles, the waffles were the best I've ever had. Would definitely visit them again!
This place is much more than you're expecting. I ordered my regular diner slip: two eggs soft, homes fries, toast, bacon soft. Everything came out VERY delish. The eggs were fluffy and rich and fresh. The bacon was exactly as I like it. The home fries had a medley of wonderful veggies within (huge bonus)... on top of that, the owner was there being particularly friendly and brought out ketchup and their two specialty home sauces, a Chipotle mayo and a honey mustard, both fantastic, had a great coffee which they made exactly as I asked. Highly recommend for a true hometown experience. Support local business, come here.
Food was amazing, thick juicy tasty burger. Everyone else's meal was also delicious. People were also super friendly.
Honestly, I would walk past this diner on my way home from work, usually after dinner hours, and I was always curious how the food was, but judged the restaurant by it’s simple, unassuming decor / ambiance. Cut to a week ago: we read plenty of positive reviews and decided it’s always best to support the neighborhood, and WOW, does the food and service deliver above and beyond the ambiance. We were served with kindness and the food was tasty and beautifully presented. We’ll be back!
Great food and very nice services there really recommend to eat there
Amazing food and customer service, I'm so glad this business opened next to my job. The neighborhood needed a good diner and this spot delivers! Prices are affordable and the portion sizes are quite big. I recommend trying their Eggs Benedict, Po'boys (especially the cod), and fried calamari! 😋
Quality fresh prepared food. I had the burger and my lunch partner had the salmon. Crispy fries and perfect gourmet burger cooked to order. Higher end on price but worth the money. My friend raved about his salmon. Both of us will definitely return independently or meet up for lunch again.
I had the steak and eggs. It was delicious! Service was incredible. This will be my regular spot going forward.
I read the negative reviews and they seem to be from very entitled people. We really enjoyed our meal here. I had the Eggs Benedict which I recommend. Portions are big and filling, service was great.
OMG, OMG, OMG, words won't do the food here any justice you have to just go try it. I am sure it's the best tasting breakfast food you will ever find in Brooklyn or probably New York State. I had the spinach/mushroom/onion omelet served with home fries and toast. Believe me when I tell you the flavor was 100%. I would believe them if they said that they just picked the mushroom, cut the spinach, pulled the onions and moved the hen to the left to get the eggs..... lol. Its just that good. Let me also talk about the home fries, again it's 100%. Flavor and texture is out of this world. I might have been transported to Krypton or somewhere other than here. Then there was the chocolate chip pancakes. Trust me on this one, there are no words. All you can say is OH MY GOD, it's like an orgasm.... of flavor. Don't wait. Go get some. Now!
I love everything about Joey's Diner! We ate everything and it was so amazing! Food tasted so good and you can tell the chef make this dish with care. The lady who serviced us was super nice and sweet. The salad is a must get!
Really tasty fajitas. We found this place on Google maps near our hotel and are glad we dropped in. Very friendly but unobtrusive service.
Oh my god the cheese burgers medium rare is to die for I highly recommend this place..Chef's kiss 💋
This place is so unassuming and then hits you with DELICIOUS food presented beautifully. Had a really great breakfast here today. My omelet was wonderful and the home fries were exactly what I want in a breakfast potato. The staff were lovely as well. I wish I wasn't just visiting the area because I'd definitely be back if I lived nearby!
absolutely sweet woman at the counter, she was very nice to us. food was delicious as well
Excellent lunch! I ordered the salmon burger with fries and a homemade lemonade. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious; not your regular patty, rather interesting choice of capers in the mix.The whole leaf lettuce was so crispy and fresh Spicy French fries with 4 different sauces to choose from. Friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. $23 well spent.
I was driving by saw this diner came in. The food was absolutely delicious. I had a salad with grilled chicken, the flavor was amazing. Mu mom had a cheeseburger, the flavor too was amazing. My boyfriend ate waffles, it had such a delicious cinnamon flavor. I definitely recommend this place and come back. So peaceful as well, soft music in the background.
Food was hot fresh and quick. Great little spot with a nice local vibe.
Food was delicious! Would highly recommend! The hanger steak and tacos were awesome!! Lovely and quaint neighborhood eatery. Super staff! Have a huge menu to choose from. Does not disappoint.
My friends and I came in for a quick brunch and were very happy we did! The server was super friendly and efficient, and the food was so much better than expected. The menu items we got were simple, classic breakfast items, but between the eggs all being cooked perfectly and the wonderful surprise of the cinnamon Belgian waffles, it was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. It's very no-frills good food.
What an amazing find!!! The quality hiding in this restaurant deserves praise. The food deserves recognition. There's a nice energy here, with tidiness and simple style elements. The team balanced promptness, efficiency, kindness and protocol. This place delivers consistently.
Jey Diner is a unexpected and wonderful treat new to the Sunset Park (or Greenwood Heights) community. I walked in for a burger and walked out with a full stomach of delicious East Indian inspired cuisine. I was surprised at how inexpensive it was because the quantity and quality rivaled higher end restaurants in NYC. YUMMY!
The food here is excellent! Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. I got the cod po boy and subbed the fries for the beet salad. Couldn’t have asked for a better post-Greenwood meal. 10/10.
I stopped by Jey Dinner with my family last night to check it out, the food was great. Everything from the fried calamari, burger and the ribeye steak were made to perfection. They are using high quality and fresh ingredients at a very low price, you can’t go wrong with that. I highly recommend everyone to try it out. Best of luck to the family running this amazing place.
What a great authentic place! We had a late breakfast here and were positively surprised. Everything was well seasoned and the service was incredibly nice 😊 if we come back to this area we would be back to try their pancakes!
Stopped by in the afternoon—food was great! Had the pork chops with rice and beans, really tasty. Service was friendly too. Definitely a good spot to grab a meal.
We live in the neighborhood, but somehow have never managed to try it. But today we had our dog with us and needed to find a place to go while we waited for work in our apartment to get done so we headed over. We ordered the fries, which were amazing, crispy, and seasoned along with four delicious sauces. We also had chocolate chip pancakes and huevos rancheros. All so tasty. And even beautifully plated. I actually can't name another diner that puts so much effort into plating. The service was warm, friendly and efficient. Don't let the small size and unassuming storefront fool you - this is a great diner. We will be coming back for sure!
The place seemed really small to have such a diverse menu. We both landed on pasta. It was really good, but the bread was the star. The staff were friendly and we felt welcome. The thing I really liked was the steady parade of neighborhood regulars who came to eat or get take out while we were there. They clearly had what it took to back up all those choices, and it shows the quality when people keep coming back.
Incredibly delicious ribeye medium rare steak with mashed potatoes. I still don’t understand why there isn’t a line out the door at this place. Highly, highly, highly recommend it!
We were staying at a hotel down the street and decided to try Jey based on their reviews. We were pleasantly surprised that the reviews matched our experience. We had dinner there one night and breakfast a couple of days later. Jey Diner is an example of a family run restaurant that values quality and service. The food is fresh and well prepared with a good eye for presentation. The omelet was moist, filled with veggies and the roasted potatoes were flavorful. The salad was crisp, with a tasty light dressing. The value is exceptional.
The food was absolutely delicious.. I had a FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH and it was absolutely amazing. My girl ordered FRENCH TOAST and it was absolutely amazing. The ONION RINGS were delicious as well. Even the basic coffees we ordered were very good. Eddie who works the front, is a great host and his energy is high. I'll definitely be back. Support this place, it's GREAT!!!
Fresh and delicious food, giant portions, reasonably priced! Honestly one of the best omelettes I've had in a long time, and my husband's French Toast was cinnamony and crispy. They may have been understaffed on the day we got breakfast here because it took a while for the food to come out but it was super worth the wait!
I came here with my friend after a lovely day in Greenwood Cemetery. The staff there were warm, inviting and professional. The staff here also spoke English and Spanish, which is a plus in my book. The restaurant was very clean and so it was a great place to cool our heels after our walk. We both ordered waffles, drinks, and a flan. All of which tasted great and was also plated very nicely! A very lovely dining experience and a great find, in this part of Brooklyn.
This place is just perfectly valued. The taste to price was justified. Portions are large, very very delicious. I tried some other dishes too. First time i am impressed by all the dishes. At worst, they are all good dishes. The guy serving us at the time was very nice and friendly. I seriously think this is a cafe you should consider if you are walking by and want a "safe" option for dining.
Women serving the food was very kind and sweet. Food tasted great
1st Time for me in an authentic Brooklyn diner for a quick dessert in the afternoon. I had a hot blueberry muffin and a natural juice « Jey refreshener » made with cucumber, kale, celery, lemon, ginger and parsley.. I was very pleased to discover this local diner.
My husband said the fried chicken seasoning was great. It was very moist. My spinach eggs benedict was very good too. Very friendly and reasonable prices. It is not a fancy place, but the food is good
Lovely diner with a mix of classic American and Mexican dishes, prepared by extremely friendly welcoming staff. Great value in terms of food quality, portions, flavor/presentation.. I had the eggs Benedict with bacon and my wife had the huevos rancheros, but I only remembered to take a photo of the great watermelon salad we shared... we'll be back!
Really great breakfast food here! The eggs Benedict is always one of my favorites!

Fantastic service! The food and coffee were both great and ready quickly. My husband and I both had waffles; he got eggs and bacon on the side and I chose fruit. I especially loved the juice which I'm guessing they make themselves. They have lots of little things that add to the experience. The menu is also quite extensive; I look forward to trying the strawberry salad next time!
My son and I happened to be in the area and decided to stop in for breakfast. Was greeted with a smile and pleasant good morning, how are you guys doing. Clean, cozy and friendly service. A nice variety to choose from. Food ( breakfast) was delicious, original and a good portion. I enjoy going to these little establishments l, you get the best tasting food. Stop in and give it a try. Note: people need to stop with some of these comments, if you try the food and don't like it, that's ok. Even 5 star restaurants food may not taste to your liking.. ok. You have other options next time.

An unassuming little place that you may not even think to check out. But I’ve tried several dishes from there- everything from eggs benedict to burgers to mac n cheese- and somehow, they haven’t missed a beat yet. They are friendly and the food is delicious and ready quickly. I would lean more towards takeout than dine in as there generally isn’t much ambience, but that being said I’ve not had a bad experience once. I hope they stick around!
I visited just after the holidays and saw they were still serving STUFFING/DRESSING( personal holiday fav) It was delicious, but a little heavy on the salt(I have low BP so I tend to look for salt). The Salmon/Avocado toast was also tasty. Light, refreshing and usually my go to snack/bite. I enjoyed it.. Cozy and quiet. I would definitely go back.
The food is cooked with love 💕.. absolutely delicious 🤤 wit warming service and a relaxing atmosphere. Love 💕 their breakfast food.
Nice little diner near new hotel -Liberty View at 29th.. Great big tasty omelet & delicious red potatoes. Not had a good omelet in awhile & this one was perfect. Attentive & kind service. Huge drink selection of about every imaginable soda available. Really, every kind. Good coffee. Clean kitchen & dining area. Rather quickly cooked our breakfast. I also noticed they did delivery while we ate & they were very fast getting food to their customers. If in the area again, we would go back.
Small spot but very well put together! The quality of the food was shocking cause most diners upscale their prices while using cheap ingredients. Not here though! The fried chicken was crispy on the outside but soft and flavorful inside. I would recommend the kitchen staff to just practice on balancing textures when it comes to the meals. The omelette was soft but i would have preferred my home fries to be crunchy rather than soft. Felt like mush in my mouth. Other than that, you should give this diner a try 🤙🏽
Delicious huge sandwiches. Two of us ordered two sandwiches (cod, and eggplant parm We had lunch and dinner. Both were delicious. The service was excellent as well. The atmosphere was very sparse. It’s definitely a place to eat a good inexpensive meal, it’s not a place to go for ambiance. I definitely would recommend stopping by, but bring your appetite.
I stopped in this cute, unassuming little diner for the first time today for a quick breakfast after seeing a posting about this place on Instagram. I was greeted warmly by the waitstaff as soon as I entered. In spite of the place being as small as it is, they have a pretty large menu with a variety of different options, and the prices seem rather reasonable, in my opinion. The food is presented very well on fancy plastic plates, and I was surprised that they serve coffee in paper cups to go. I ordered the omelette with spinach, mushrooms, and onions, and I must say that this, along with the home fries served with the order, were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The tables and chairs might seem a bit mismatched and/or a bit worn, but the establishment is very clean. I was very happy with my first experience, and I will be sure to stop in again in the future.
I never post reviews but I used previous reviews to give this place a try. 4 stars! I’ve never had chicken and waffles so I decided to go for it. I was pleasantly surprised … excellent waffles had a hint of cinnamon and the batter texture was just right. The chicken was also good but it appeared to go from pan to plate and I think it needed to sit a minute and drain oil ( but I’m sure the cook can hear my mom complaining that it’s taking too long) Mom had eggs with potatoes and sausage… I tasted the potatoes 👍🏾. All in all nice experience good food and friendly staff. Will def go back !
Small diner experience, good service, relatively quick and food was delicious. The Bfast burrito was terrific. Street parking.

Service was great. A bit overpriced for breakfast but its BROOKLYN. We were served with the wrapped plasticware and served with paper cups no silverware or ceramic cups. I ordered my meal with toast, she never asked me what type of bread. She just served me wheat bread (which I hate ) but I ate it anyways. I just think if you were to serve someone in your establishment you would serve decent diningware. But the service was great.
The food was decent the place was really clean the staff was really friendly I had Mexican steak with rice and beans . My friend has Buffalo Hot wings he said that it wasn't spicy enough and you look kind of dry my food was okay it was spicy but there beans and rice were awesome. I give it four stars if the food wasn't so spicy. But it was good.
I went to Jey’s diner with my daughter and her husband. The place is very small, but very clean, a very low and pleasant background music and a very courteous lady waiting on tables. After our order was taken and while we waited for our food I noticed a guy come in apparently from making a delivery. He went behind the counter and started working without washing his hands, the same guy went out again and returned a second time with another female both went in the back and started working without washing their hands. A third person came in from the streets, another male, he also was in the back and started working without washing his hands. While all this activity and lack of hygiene happened our food came out, very well presented, very fresh and delicious. The eggs Benedict cooked to perfection, the potatoes very tasty with a nice combination of crunchy and tender. I would recommend the food but they need to wash their hands.
I am not sure why they don't have a kids menu. A lot of people have children! Why should you have to pay for a full-size meal and drink at full price and the kids do not finish it. The chicken sandwich I had no seasoning, I wasn't happy with my meal, however this was my experience. This spot is a one and done for me!
I think they should ask if you if you want ice in a natural juice. Cup full of ice kind of kills it also Breakfast Burrito had no taste or seasoning at all. Try something else next time since my father raves about this place
The eggs were fine and the bacon was okay, but the pancakes were not what I expected. They had an overwhelming cinnamon and gingerbread flavor. I recommend they mention the ingredients somewhere, otherwise, you're disappointing your customers.
The BEC was solid but the rest was meh. Tried the Eggs Benedict, but it was so overwhelming with garlic I couldn’t finish it. The menu is chaotic and a challenge to decipher. The coffee is weak and you don’t add your own cream/sugar…strange. We were optimistic based on reviews but back to Little Purity we go!
Food is good, but for an establishment with a few dozen beverage options, it’s kind of an amazing accomplishment that every single drink option is trash. Sugary high-fructose corn syrup, only plastic (no glass bottles and no glass cups to drink from), no decaf… if I’m paying $15 to $20 for a brunch option, I want a freaking glass. Not a child’s plastic cuppy. It’s a shame, because the food is very good. But I won’t be returning to a place that doesn’t even have glassware I want to drink water out of — let alone anything I want to drink other than water. Oh well. There are hundreds of other diners in Brooklyn, and I will be patronizing them instead of Jey.
I don’t know how this place was highly rated, and I can only speak for myself. I was in the area early in the week. After a long day at work, and commuting back and forth to work from another boro, I was hungry. And tired and frustrated. I entered this diner. It was freezing outside and I wanted to sit in and eat. The people were friendly. I expected more welcoming, warm greeting and comfortable seating. I didn’t expect to stay seated by the front entrance. The two young girls at the front need to learn to be more professional. Appearance means a lot. To be a customer looking at them, they were socializing with each other and on their phones and whispering among themselves. When one of them decided to approach my table, they stood a distance as if I was contagious or something. Customer service skills need to be addressed. I wasn’t asked how I was. I wasn’t asked if I needed anything else. I wasn’t asked if I needed more water to drink. I’m not coming back to this restaurant.
Ordered a plate of eggs, potatoes, and bacon. The bacon was cold, the toast was unbuttered. The only water option they had was bottled and had to be purchased aside from the meal. Over priced. Miserable dining experience. The dude working was nice, albeit lacking any concept of food service etiquette as he asked us our order not 5 seconds after receiving the menu.
I stopped by for breakfast this morning being that this place had so many good reviews, unfortunately I was completely dissatisfied. I had the chicken fingers which were completely bland with no taste & it seemed as if they were frozen, fries were alright. I also had the French toast with fruit which was well presented but was absolutely disgusting, the French toast was thick and very moist it was literally falling apart, not sure if that’s the style or if it was undercooked. Hot chocolate wasn’t good either it tasted like hot milk. Staff was alright but I won’t be coming back :/
