I moved next door to Russ 1981 and my Aunt lived in his building on the 2nd fl from 1981-90's I moved out in 1989 to queens. Went to PS 34 with his daughter. Sal the cook was in his 20's in the early 80's, My Grandfather (Sembhoo) worked in the kitchen for many years. Best pizza comes from a really nice family can't ask for anything else. I moved to FL and still think about this place please support.Oh by the way a slice would be .75 cents lol.

I was working across the street. And I went over there on a limb. Got a margherita slice and potato croquettes. I walked to my car to eat it. I honestly pass by whenever I'm in the neighborhood for their dough balls, absolutely delicious and they heat them up just right. Their pizza is always great, with plenty of topping options, but I think they get the credit for best dough balls with a bit of powdered sugar

This pizza is just great! Owner is straight from Sicily. Every time I go in he's always there making a pie. His artichoke pie is a special he makes for me and it's out of this world. I would recommend this Pizza joint to anyone living in Greenpoint NY.

BEST Ameri-Italian pizza joint in the neighborhood, and very reasonably priced. Got me hooked on the chicken and eggplant parmigiano (and sometimes I tell them to just pick one for me because I can't decide.). There's a community vibe here that is 100% Brooklyn. And from all times I've hung out and chatted while waiting for my grub, I can attest that the food is made with good spirits and love.

This is the best pizza in green point! I grew up on this sub since I was a little girl and the same man still owns it after all these years. You can't find a better slice of pizza in Brooklyn no less New York!

When I lived in Brooklyn as a child my mom would take me here all the time for the broccoli pizza, almost 12 years later they're still here and the pizza and garlic knots I ordered were so good I almost cried. The pizza still tastes like it did all those years ago, the staff here is so friendly and I'm so glad that such a big part of my childhood is still here and hasn't changed. To everyone working there, keep up the good work!

Russ pizza, has been in the community for several decades now. I use to bring my kid there when they where young. The service has been always great and the food always fresh & delicious. Living next door to this establishment was a privilege. Their slices are made with great care, and you can’t go wrong with a plain cheese…but we’d encourage you to check out the fried eggplant slice as well. With new shops like Upside popping up, don’t forget that Russ Pizza has been serving excellence for decades.

My favorite place for a simple unfussy but delicious pie or slice. No brick ovens here or fancy toppings but they are quick, cheap and delicious if you’re just looking for a straightforward New York pizza.

Good service and good tasting good. Had a slice pizza and a grandpa and they were great. I haven't been here for over 10 years and happy to see they are still open with the great taste I remember. Staff is alert and friendly, not rude or uptight so I definitely give them 5 stars.

Good pizza for me has to meet a standard. The Pizza here meets that ‘standard criteria’ with rating I suggested. This was a first time visit for me. I’ll usually stick with a plain slice when exploring … However, I was a little hungrier on this visit, so I ordered a meat slice (pepperoni and sausage). When I ordered, I introduced myself as a first time visitor and I could not have received a warmer welcome. The slice needed to be heated and that brought it to fresh out of oven. I sat down at the smallest table and enjoyed every bite. The genuine and gracious farewell when leaving and ‘come back again’ from the two servers at counter made me note shop in ‘my favorites’ on google maps. I’m an hour drive north … but I hope to get back for another visit one day. The Pizza here is very good and the staff is friendly.

This is my ONLY go to spot for a perfect slice of pizza. I've tried a few in the area and there just seems to be too much of something or too little of something. I've been in this neighborhood for years and I can always count on Russ Pizza to deliver greatness. The pizza isn't too greasy or oily (which I appreciate not having to soak up oil with a napkin), the right amount of sauce and of course the perfect amount of cheese. I came in to eat a few weeks ago and THEY HAVE PAPER STRAWS! Thank you for caring about the environment and being the best pizza shop in the neighborhood!!

I go to lunch here all the time. The food is great! They don't just sell pizzas. They make chicken parmesan heroes, pepperoni pinwheels, chicken wraps, and more. The service here is fast. Come through if you want to experience great New York City pizza shop cuisine.

A true neighborhood classic. Their pizza has that old-school NYC taste that’s getting harder and harder to find these days. My go-to is the Hawaiian pie — always perfectly balanced, with that crisp crust and just the right amount of cheese. I love that traditional flavor they’ve kept all these years. This was old Russ pizza. Russ was old owner back in high he 80s. He gave to guy Sal to run then Sal gave it to hector and now hector and Freddy run it together. Hector used to work for Sal. Glad to see that he’s running it. My wife and I stop by once a month for a quick bite. She gets chicken Parmesan hero and I usually get a slice. They have restroom and plenty of tables. Best of luck guys!

If you're a fan of chicken Parmesan, I highly recommend visiting Russ pizzeria. Their chicken Parmesan is simply amazing! The chicken is cooked to perfection, the sauce is delicious and the cheese is melted and gooey. It's definitely the best chicken Parmesan I've ever had. Revised from 2015. Russ Pizza has been at this location for years now. I'm being honest by writing that there pizza has very good flavor. They serve up many different flavors, ingredients and a lot of choices as well like beef patties, kanish, chicken and sausage rolls and ect... I've been coming here for over 8 years now and anytime I happen to be in the neighborhood, I make a stop and get myself some pizza slices or items. Some of my favorites are the Chicken Cesar Salad, Buffalo Chicken and the pepperoni chip's. They even had a nice make over in decor inside. I need to update new pictures as well.

Good pizza, the front near the counter is a little tight, but that's a minor thing. I liked their eco-friendly bathroom lights.

I will tell you this, if you feel like anyone was rude to you that is because you were probably an unmanageable customer to begin with. Stick to your hipster tofu pizzerias and stay out of real old Brooklyn pizza places. We don't need your business. We've been around for over 50 years. 😉

Really good pizza in an old fashioned pizza joint! Tried an entree (chicken parm/pasta) - also good. We live in Queens but shop on Manhattan Ave. Love stopping by, sometimes take out but usually eat in.

Ok pizza. Ordered half white and half Sonic's spinach with mushroom. Three crust was a little too thick for my taste. Hard to believe how much a pie cost nowadays in Brooklyn. I like the place down the street better because of thinner crust.

I tried their unique Stuffed Broccoli Riccota Garlic slice. At first they told me it would be $6, but then they quickly changed it to $7. It was decent, and it filled me up like two slices would, so I guess it was worth it.

Ordered a plain cheese pie 18” for delivery. Wish it was a little bigger but it tasted pretty good! Cost about $22 plus tip. Would order again.

The last time I went I would have rated it 4 stars but my hero's just didn't taste as good; particularly the eggplant parmesan. I also think they overcharged me $2. That said, it's a simple take out place that's been there forever. It has some seats to eat in as well. Prices are ok

A BBQ chicken slice costs $5 here and honestly its not that great. Like it tastes ok but the sauce feels sticky on your teeth. Also while i was sitting here, the manager/owner was talking to his employee about an incident and cursing. Definitely not professional.

I had the Sicilian pizza. The sauce was sooo chunky that it was falling out of the pizza it got so messy. There was a slab of cheese on top, when I took my first bite it all came off plus the sauce was falling so basically I ate the bread. Very messy. Didn’t enjoy it.

Have gone here many times over the past 40+years of living in Greenpoint and they just keep getting worse and worse.Pizza slices showed up late and ice cold. When I called prior to check up on it, the guy barked at me on the phone. Not the first time this has happened. They're not customer friendly. Pizza might have been good if it was fresh and even warm. This was the last time.

“Beware of the closing time pizza” I didn’t really pay attention to the time. I just booked my order through DoorDash. I have ordered from Russ quite a few times and I have considered them to be tied with Nonna’s pizzeria (As one and two best delivery pizzas in greenpoint) but not tonight. My pie appeared to be reheated because it was overcooked and after biting into the pizza , you could have easily confused the crust with the cardboard box it came in. I was very disappointed in my Friday night’s pizza. Perhaps, I will try again but much earlier in the evening next time.

Driver never came. Was told by the restaurant to call grub hub to cancel the order because they couldn’t locate the driver. Then was told to order from somewhere else. No offering of compensation (10% off next order, etc.) for inconvenience.

Be aware of any food served in the kitchen after eating I’ve went to the bathroom several times on other occasions I ordered chicken and it smelled like fish

This is TERRIBLE pizza. Do NOT, under any circumstances, go here to buy pizza. I got the eggplant and regular slice. The eggplant should have been fried instead of baked, and the entire slice was so dry with hardly any sauce. The same issue with the regular. It was like eating rubber. I would never go back here.

I am a loyal customer last week I ordered pizza my son was eating his mushroom slice and got a big piece of glass in his mouth from the pizza I called spoke to owner all he says I am sorry what if my child would of swolled the glass

Bland pizza 🍕 I ordered a large half cheese and half chicken and broccoli from this pizzeria because it had good reviews but after trying it I was so annoyed at that fact that it did not have no taste. Never ordering from here again...

They are extremely rude. After asking when my already late pizza would arrive, I was yelled at. So, when I asked for a refund, I was hung up on. I would never ever order from them EVER again.

My girlfriend and I both got food poisoning from this restaurant, to the point I almost had to go to the hospital. We called them to let them know to check their ingredients and they called us liars. We weren’t expecting anything in return but we were just giving them a heads up so other customers won’t get sick. Stay far away.

Placed and order for 2 pies 2hrs later no food. Called them back to hear he'll be there in 5 minutes waited a half an hour more still no pizza. After I canceled thats when the delivery guy shows up with the pizza after 2hrs of waiting. No i do not want cold pizza at 8 o'clock at night. You lost a long time customer. Thanks for nothing.

My wife called to have a pizza delivered and the delivery driver who speaks no English btw couldn’t understand my wife was very rude and nasty to her, when she paid he tried to walk away with all our money instead of giving her back her change. When she confronted him he kept walking and gave her an attitude, we won’t be ordering delivery again. Delivery used to be great. What happen Russ ?

Been coming here since I was 11 year's old food is great they need to hire better staff i ordered 2 chicken rolls and a slice they forgot my chicken roll i went back the one they wanted to give me was burnt they gave me a cold one and told me to warm it up at home they were not even busy this is definitely not the way to treat a very loyal customer

I brought my 4 year old daughter inside and they refused her to use the bathroom unless I bought something and I wouldn’t recommend giving them your business because they only care about money clearly. The food also looked VERY DRY and old.. do better.

Born and raised in greenpoint.... been to this place a lot over my lifetime... but boy, did this place go downhill.... 17 bucks for a 3 shrimp parm hero.... horrible!!! I was very shocked and highly disappointed in it. I wouldn't go back honestly l, and btw ordered a veal cutlet hero also, and it tasted horrible. The worse 35 bucks I spent on a dinner in a very long time
