Chopstick Catskill Reviews
Outstanding. Chopstick is a gem. Their menu features all of the beloved Chinese-American classics + even more Asian fusion selections. We have standard favorites for takeout: egg rolls, scallion pancakes, dumplings, sweet & sour chicken, beef with broccoli, fried rice, and sesame chicken. It's clear each dish is made with high quality, fresh ingredients. We love Chopstick!
Very few sushi spots in the area, so I’m happy this one is here and with that, also a solid spot locally if you want some takeout.
Good place for quick eat in and terrific take out! Best sushi I’ve found in the area! Also, only decent vegan options in area…
We absolutely LOVE this restaurant!! We order take away at least 2 a month and it's ALWAYS DELICIOUS!! Scallion pancakes are a must!! Thank you Chopstick for tasty food!!
Hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Food is always clean and delicious, super accommodating of gluten free requests and the service is IMPECCABLE. The friendliest folks around. Love to eat in or take out.
Best Chinese around. Had General Tso’s chicken and chicken & broccoli- both were great. Good quality meat, no weird pieces. Will definitely be back.
I recently discovered this hidden gem of a restaurant and I must say, it is truly a great find. The sushi is exceptional, but what sets this place apart is their unique menu that goes beyond traditional Chinese and Japanese cuisine. The variety of offerings is impressive - we tried their homemade Crab Rangoon, which was hands down the best I've ever had. For our main course, we indulged in the Seafood Deluxe, which consisted of shrimp, scallops, lobster, and crab. It was an outstanding dish and priced at only $19, it's a steal. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
Came here on a Tuesday and I would love if more people come here and give it a try! Is such a cute little spot and it has achínese and Japanese food. Best of both worlds! I came with my husband during lunch specials hours and we can’t believe this amazing prices! You can eat a great meal for less than 10usd. I will also like to add that the place is super clean and the waiter really nice and attentive! We will be coming here way more often as I can say is now one of our To Go places to eat, and we are not close… but is worth it!
Amazing service - really comfortable ambiance and really nice staff. Food was exactly as we asked for with excellent hot oil that was very authentic. Good portions and lunch specials are a fantastic deal! Would come back again. We ordered pick up but ended up staying bc it was very welcoming and comfortable to dine in. Thanks so much 👍
My culinary tour of upstate New York continues—and today’s craving was unmistakably Chinese. After a quick search, I stumbled upon Chopstick in Catskill, NY. Pro tip: if you’re looking for it, don’t trust your GPS alone—just look for the towering 10-foot chopsticks out front. Blink and you’ll miss the building, but you won’t forget the food. This charming little red restaurant may look unassuming from the outside, but inside? It’s dishing out serious flavor with a side of small-town hospitality. I phoned in my order and was immediately greeted by a kind, courteous voice. They not only took my order, but repeated it back with the kind of accuracy that would make a court stenographer proud. A small gesture, but a big win when you’re particular about your dumplings (and trust me—I am). Let’s talk food. Pan-Fried Vegetable Dumplings: These were pan-fried to golden perfection. Each dumpling was generously packed with veggie filling, but the dough was a tad thick—nothing a good dunk in their perfectly balanced dumpling sauce couldn’t fix. Salty but not overpowering. A dumpling win. Sesame Chicken: Yes. Just… yes. Giant, tender chunks of actual chicken breast (not mystery meat), perfectly crisped and coated in a glossy, sweet sesame glaze. It comes with rice and enough leftovers for a midnight snack or a friend—if you’re feeling generous. I wasn’t. Kung Pao Chicken: A savory, satisfying mix of veggies and protein with just the right amount of heat. Flavorful, spicy, and honestly one of the better versions I’ve had—city or small town. Chicken Fried Rice: A mountain of rice generously peppered with chicken. It had good flavor but leaned slightly dry. That said, I’ve had worse at places with white tablecloths and inflated prices, so I’m not mad about it. All in all, Chopstick is a solid 4-star gem in the Catskill food scene. Friendly service, great value, and food that hits the spot when the craving for Chinese cuisine kicks in. I’ll be back—and next time, I might just bring friends. Or not. Depends on how I feel about sharing. Verdict: Come for the giant chopsticks. Stay for the sesame chicken. And don’t forget the dumpling sauce. “Food that feeds the soul, beauty that speaks volumes, and travel that tells a story always through the eyes of Italy Loves India.” — Alyson Savino
b.overly_delicious @chopstickcatskill Catskill, NY: I’ve heard good things about Chopstick, in Catskill, over the years but have never been. Went for lunch on a weekday and was surprised to see a few tables full. I ordered 5 different lunch specials all ranging between $8.99 and $9.99. They came with fried rice and an egg roll. Portions were definitely lunch size. Which is the proper amount to eat but less than I’m used to. I would say the preparations were just different. The boneless spareribs were completely different than I’ve ever had. Big slices of meat, like shown in the photo. Nothing was bad or great just different. Definitely worth a change up if you are getting sick of your normal spot. #catskill #chopstick #chinesefood #eggroll #greencountry #hveats #hvfoodies #eaterny #igfood #ulstereateriesunfiltered 📸 @above_weddings
Chopstick Asian Restaurant Bridge St, Catskill N.Y. If your palette craving Chinese food ,try this cute Cafe style. The spare ribs had nice texture and flavor, sauce was a little heavy. String beans with pork and tofu was delicious and house special fried rice was a little bland but extremely fresh, orange chicken with broccoli had nice delicate flavor with orange skin. Spicy salmon sushi roll and shrimp tempura was fresh but a bit bland. Overall the Chinese dishes was flavorful. If your ever in Catskill give Chopstick a try.
This place used to be really good but in my opinion has gone downhill. Yellow curry tastes mostly like water....if you're used to thai curry this isn't what it usually looks/tastes like. Not rich at all or much depth of flavor but spicy and with an odd assortment of veggies. Crab Rangoon wasn't great but edible. After reading other reviews about cleanliness issues I don't think I want to eat here again either.
Well this place is going down hill again portions getting smaller with the octopus salad cutting the octopus so small to the point where it's difficult to even eat it instead of leaving it whole like you use to you're trying to hide the fact that you're giving people less your not fooling me ill just drive to kingston no problem I can only imagine what it looks like if you don't pay for extra you're not the only sushi place
For way more money than any other similar cuisine in town, you can get way less food of poor quality. Their supposedly thai curry has instant Japanese curry roux cubes in it, and although they had a good selection of under seasoned veggies, the beef was chewy and somehow the sauce was too salty. Sesame chicken sauce tastes like it almost burnt then they dumped some water in to save it.
