Cozy Diner Chico Reviews
Went here for breakfast. Take my advise and order the ham breakfast. I guarantee you will take half of it home. We also ordered cinnamon french toast. They don't sprinkle cinnamon on bread. They make thick cinnamon bread. It was so good, no need for syrup. Probably the best breakfast I've had in a long time. 10 stars out of 5.
I've always enjoyed the food. Just down home cooking! Wait staff is great. My husband is in a wheelchair and we've never had a problem being seated
Cozy has been out go-to restaurant since 1989. We have not been disappointed one time. The food and service is consistent - always excellent! You're made to feel like family with every dining experience.
Great down to Earth diner in a central location in Chico. Food was delicious and serving sizes huge. This is definitely someplace I will come again to and take my family to. Even though they were extremely busy, the waiter was attentive and the food quickly served. Quality was good for the quantity and the price. Biscuits and gravy were some of the best I've had in the Chico area and my wife's omelette was tasty.
Great atmosphere, good food, great service, decent price. I had the club sandwich and onion rings. Perfect club, turkey, ham and bacon, with lettuce, tomato and mayo on three slices of white toast. Rings were crispy and hot! Nice meal...
We had the best 4 piece chicken dinner today. Juicy meat crispy outside. Our waitress Jesse was wonderful. She was patient, attentive and friendly. Definitely a great place to eat
I just realized I forgot to add a review! My granddaughter picked Cozy for my Mother's Day lunch. She had a cheeseburger with fries, I had a club sandwich with fries. Then we shared some vanilla ice cream. The waitpeople are always great, and the food was good. A Chico tradition
Been dining here for ten years, always a wonderful experience. The food is exceptional and the service is always personable. In spite of the city imposing a no dine-in restriction, Cozy Diner elected to stand up for themselves and refuse to close doors. They remain open to this day, and I couldn't be more behind them. I would and will proudly continue to bring friends and family here.
Our family enjoyed the homey and cozy atmosphere of this classic American diner. They have a senior and a kids menu so all ages were happy. The place was quite busy and the tables were a bit crowded, but we didn't have to wait long. The food was as expected and hit that comfort spot. I appreciated the friendly and straight to the point waitress. Anything fried was well made and the ranch dressing was yummy.
Love this place. Relaxing home type atmosphere. Always kind waitresses, friendly and efficient. You can always count on the food being delicious and the pies are the bomb. Best known for their broasted chicken which is the best I've ever had. A popular place for seniors because the food is good, the portions are right, and the cost is fair.
They have really good fried chicken 😀
I was in the Cozy Diner yesterday and I had the best customer service I have had from a restaurant for quite some time. Our waitress Gani let us know that she would be with us shortly while she was on her way to deliver an order for another table and she was. She was very pleasant when she took our order. The one thing that really stood out about her customer service was she never once rushed us through our meal. She gets a 5 star custom service rating from me. I ordered the Rib Eye surf and turf and it was the best steak dinner. It was pretty tender and the shrimp was great. The feel of the restaurant is a very comfortable place to dine in at. The customers seemed very satisfied with there meals and service also. I had a very awesome meal and customer service at the Cozy Diner. 5 ⭐'s
My husband and in laws ate there last night. The food tasted great and the service was awesome. Unfortunately I never got my waitresses name but she had Halloween devil horns on and lipstick. We ate around 5-6pm. Just wanted to give her a shoutout since she was awesome!!
I and my daughter have been waiting for them to open.we were the first paying customer that morning at 6am. Their personal service and attention was so friendly. I felt at home. They have a large menu. Big portions and tastes so good. Our waitress Tracy treated us like family. She's very friendly and we have had very good conversations with her. The owner Albert is so friendly and also treats you like family. You will feel very welcome here.
Breakfast all day food was served quick and great service..... Will definitely be back
Great food, service and good atmosphere. They always take great care of us. There were 7 of us and everything went smoothly.
This place is the model of efficiency, it's actually awe inspiring. The food is typical diner fare, good for the price and quantity. I don't think I've ever walked out of this place without an overly stuffed stomach! Service is always incredible!
Food is great. Portion are more huge.
It's all in the name, Cozy Diner. I got the French Toast with crispy hashbrowns and poached eggs! They always do a wonderful job with the food and service. Amazing value for all that you receive.
Party of 11. They set the table where we could all talk and hear each other. Food was really good. Their broiled and fried chicken is amazingly moist and tender. Good selections even on the senior menu which we had a few. Prompt, friendly service. We were all very happy there.
My husband and I came to Chico for the weekend. We were looking for a place to eat and saw this place and turned around and came here. We were seated right away by a very friendly young man. We asked for coffee and flavored creamer and got it within about 2 minutes or less. They kept up with serving us coffee and creamer. I ordered the sampler with a blueberry muffin that was delicious and my husband got a ham and egg omelette. Our food was out so fast and was amazing. The service was always prompt and everyone was super friendly. Definitely will make this a place we visit each time we come back.
I usually don’t leave reviews of restaurants, but I have to. I haven’t even finished my food yet and I’m so impressed. I’m from the south and it’s impossible to find good hash browns with cheese here. Except for this place! Absolutely all the food was SO good, hash browns with American cheese cooked to crispy but soft perfection. Great service too. Fast, and they were so friendly!
I got the breakfast combo platter my family got Santa Barbara Burger and Burrito meal with rice and beans everything was amazing an love the cozy atmosphere
My favorite restaurants in chico friendly service great food me and my family really enjoyed highly recommend
We had a great breakfast at Cozy Diner. Staff was friendly, service was fast.
Great breakfast prices and excellent food. The service was spot on.
Great food. Excellent service. Good atmosphere.
Good breakfast food and good service. Every time I go to chico overnight I stop in for breakfast before I leave
Cozy Diner means a lot to me. The first time I came here was in 2018 while helping deliver aid and food to people affected by the Camp Fire. I brought my crew of volunteers here and we all loved it. The food was great, the service was warm, and it gave us a much needed break during a tough time. Since then, I’ve moved to Chico and Cozy Diner has become one of my favorite spots to bring friends and family. Their freshly squeezed orange juice is always a hit. The Broasted chicken is definitely something you need to try. The plates come out packed and the burgers are always juicy. The staff here are friendly, welcoming, and really go the extra mile. They treat you like family. You just don’t get that kind of personal care at chain restaurants. Cozy Diner gets it right every time.
Had an amazing breakfast with my family for my birthday. The food was delicious and the service was great.
Still a great place to eat. After all these years (at least 25) we were passing through Chico and stopped in for lunch. It was delicious. My wife had never been, and she enjoyed the food and the patio as well. We'll be back. Thank you.
Cozy Diner is my go to place for down home comfort food, and the best cream pies I've ever eaten. Try the lemon, it's nirvana. The portions are generous enough most times we need to go containers. My faves are the Hamburger Steak and mashed taties dinner off the senior menu, the gravy with sautéed mushrooms divine, the French dip, Eggs Benedict, and Patty Melt. It's very clean, the staff helpful and friendly. You know a place is good when the parking lot is always full. We keep their menus in our Air B&B and our guests thank us for the referral often eating multiple meals there. Bon Appetite.
The Cozy Dinner is the BOMB! I have lived in Butte County (Chico+Oroville) since 1996 and during all that time The Cozy Dinner has never disappointed! The service and food are always excellent. They serve generous portions and the prices are modestly reasonable. I like to go on weekends to enjoy a hearty breakfast/ brunch. I recommend ordering one of their country omelet specials and definitely choose their locally made specialty sausage. I also like their most excellent country style chicken fried steak. And finally, on the way out, take home one of their awesome home style PIES! So many yummy flavors to choose from !
I really enjoyed having a breakfast brunch here. Not too expensive and you get enough food to eat. Service people were very attentitive and cheerful. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the pie selection. Lol
We just discovered this wonderful place! They have the best burgers 🍔 😋 and the service cannot be beat. My son and I always like to grab a slice of their delicious pie as well!
Great family diner, great food at good prices. They always have daily specials going on and I appreciate how the whole staff works as a unit to provide the best service. No one there is to proud to step in and help with other staff members jobs. I love seeing that type of team work. And if you walk in hungry your food doesn't take long to come out. This place just rocks.
Our family of 13 came down for a vacation boating trip. We stopped by to get some brunch when got there on a Thursday they were absolutely fantastic. Their service was amazing the food was delicious. It was so good, we concluded our trip with one more stop at the Cozy Diner! I Would recommend this stop to anyone!
Great prices, quality of food is great as well. We entered the restaurant with over 15 people and it didn't stop our server from taking care of us, and doing it with a smile, at least I assume she is smiling under the face mask. The chaos of our family is always something of a stress point for any server, and our server was on top of her game. I would recommend the French toast no matter what, it was a cinnamon roll bread!! All I can say is YUM! The special where you get country fried steak, eggs, sausage link, bacon, hash browns, and option of toast, Belgian waffle, pancake, french toast, or my favorite a biscuit and gravy. Gravy is not super salty so I added some cause I'm a salty fella. All of that breakfast for $13.99!!!! Recommend this place for sure, if you have large parties they have a spot in the back fao you can be open to speaking with family without worrying about loudness.
Decades of delivering excellent comfort food in a comfortable atmosphere. Excellent service and delicious food. Just what I was expecting.

Great service. Love the senior deals. Great service and yummy food. Great portions. Love the breakfast
The best diner in Chico. Always fast service. Definitely has the coziest atmosphere for a diner. All the breakfast food and beyond is delicious.
Good service with reasonably priced food. Locally owned diner with a variety of options.

The claim chowder was awesome. I had the turkey dinner. It was good except I don't think the gravy was right for me. The cornbread was very moist and cake like. I liked the mashed potatoes real deal there 😋. Service is good, worth leaving a tip for.
Edit: it’s been about a week since I have been there and I do believe that I have a new allergy to eggs. So I do not think it was the restaurant that got me sick and want to give them their fair review. I will try that place again just not eat eggs. Got sick. I ordered the French toast combo plate and a water with lemon. The lemon was extremely soft and squishy but I used it anyways not knowing any better (a quick google search informed me that it means it’s gone bad) I am not sure what bothered me exactly but my throat got so itchy and before we left my stomach was hurting, by the time I made it home I threw up. My stomach hurts so bad. The food tasted okay and our server was nice. But yea, I’m completely positive something in the food bothered me. Perhaps even an allergic reaction, tho I don’t have any known allergy to any of the items I ingested today. I will update if I continue to be sick or if any of my family members get sick as well.
Solid favorites for daily consumption. Not fancy. Just down home meals.
This was a great experience. We really enjoyed our food. Large selection of all kinds of food. Service was great. Awesome atmosphere. The only DOWN side. There is a little sign as you walk in the front door that says that you're charged a processing fee to use your credit card or debit card. I totally understand this. I just wish the waitress would have mentioned it before she ran my card or a sign at the credit card machine would been great. Other than that definitely recommend. Check it out if you're ever in the area.
Great all you can eat fish & chips on Fridays! Excellent service. Other specials!
We were promptly greeted and seated. The host took our drink orders. Are food was delivered in a timely manner. The service was fantastic and she was very attentive to our needs i.e. ketchup, ranch, straws for drinks.
Love this place!! The food is always amazing and so is the service!! I got the French dip and it was delicious. I love that they use nice thick pieces of tender meat instead of super thin rubbery slices like most other places!! My daughter got the Kids Funny Face meal she loved it! (Instead of making the ears 2 separate round pancakes they made it have connected pointy ears which was super cool and we've never had that anywhere before!! It was amazing, they did a smiley face with whip cream but she wanted it to be sad face because "its sad im about to eat its face" lmao so I rearranged the whip cream to a frown lol. Highly recommend....
Good burger. Nice service. Always a favorite for pie and coffee dates! It feels too crowded and loud as soon as you walk in the door! As a long time patron, I really do miss the tall booths that were there before. People are always nice
It was really cool lots of people knew each other as well as the staff the service was fast it was our first time and they were friendly let us know what deals they had going on. All in all great food and service will be returning.
It's a diner - large portions, reasonable prices, and the French toast is delicious. My only complaint is mistakes on multiple orders, of which there have been maybe a dozen in 2 years, which seems a little high to me. It's been my go-to for breakfast take out. Never dined in, but looks like a fairly average diner with the same crowd you'd expect to find at 7am in a diner. They're generally very accommodating to special requests.
Edit 12/27/25: went back, ordered the ultimate breakfast burrito and was incredible! Tons of food but cooked to perfection. Best breakfast burrito this side of the golden Gate. Eggs Benedict with country potatoes. Eggs were runny. Sauce was ok, ham tasted OK. Potatoes were seasoned less garbage. I gotta say though. The orange juice is out of this world. The menu is absolutely huge. Which could be a detriment to keeping overall food standards high. I've seen the same comment from other people. The food isn't terrible. But it isn't great either. Which, wouldnt be a problem if it were not for the increased food prices everywhere lately. I'm not against trying it again, but it for sure doesn't compete with other diners in the city. Certainly never ordering the Benedict.
Came here for breakfast and it was a good time. The food was tasty and the prices were reasonable, plus free refills for your drink. I loved the menu and all the options.
Took kids and grandkids to dinner, food was good! Bill was reasonable for 7 of us (under $150 including tip) and we ordered dessert, too
Best food and Service for the Value. A really great go to family dinner night. I highly recommend Cozy for a great meal.
I only came for the Broaster Chicken, but I can definitely see returning to try their other offerings! We were quoted 20 minutes for the chicken, but it seemed to take much less time than that. The staff was VERY kind, polite and welcoming! They have a great selection of pies in a case that comprises the front counter. The decor includes lots of photos of old and classic cars which I enjoyed viewing. There is a small, free parking lot.
Our experience at this diner location was a positive one. The biggest positive surprise was the fact that they serve Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice, which made it the first of several breakfast and restaurant places in Chico. My companion been asking for it for quite some time, and Cozy Diner had gone the extra mile and purchased the machine in plain sight. Not many patrons at 2 PM, but we were treated cordially and service was efficient at the able hands of our server, Imelda? Food requested: Veggie Crepes, $13.39? Three crepes with in store made potatoes. One of the ingredients was Spinach, which was the lesser amount, with the most broccoli and tomatoes, etc. Turns out, after conversing with Charles, one of the managers, that is permissible to request more of the spinach, per say, and problem solved! Good looking plate with fresh avocado 🥑 4 Stars. Ham, 3 over medium eggs, and hash browns, almost $14? Including a very nice and thick Rye Bread lightly toasted. Must right here and now say that our server was not joking when she said the ham was a big one, because it is. All items accounted for, and for ham enthusiasts it certainly delivered, at the very least on size. Sizable dish and filling. 4 Stars. Orange Juice Large, $4.95. What can one say about freshly squeezed orange juice, if only for the novelty of it, 5 Stars. This one beats the big D, in that is slightly better and priced. We also bought 2 bread puddings $2.75 each? Mondays 2 for 1 free range fried chicken with a couple of drinks. Fridays all one can eat Fried Fish (Swai?), which I am curious to find out if they make a good one. Overall nice experience, 4 Stars. Nice Clam Chowder on Fridays compared to several other establishments, better than most. 2 Bowls with warm cornbread, $12+ plus gratuity for a job well done. 5/24/2024 Today the fish, in fish and chips had declined in serious fashion. Salad with blue cheese a tremendous insipid no no. Service nice, which only proved the valid point that quality in the restaurant industry is truly elusive. Good one day, so so next, disappointing with zero warnings. 3 Stars. 4/4/2025 Charles excels at running the place. From the moment we arrived to departure he keeps moving about with determination, and very possibly a proud Marine? as he shows all the good traits the finest do. Food, yes, has its hiccups but never enough to condemn permanently. Service as of late, at least 6 months or more, borders on exemplary, above average. Considerate, well mannered, extremely pleasant personalities or we been lucky to be served by the best. Seniors score what is probably a very enticing set of choices under the Senior Menu. Let’s just say it delivers in general. Kids also benefit from value options. Patrons in general seemed satisfied in Cozy as attendance is not dismal, meaning no action, sad. I understand they been around since the 1960’s which attest to their well deserved place in the community of this great place called Chico. Grievances: Clam Chowder (Friday’s only) where are the clams? Are they still swimming in the ocean? Let’s leave it at that as the staff is polite and accommodating I’m sure. A great manager directs a place like a fine tuned orchestra, and here in Cozy, now displaying modern black outfits as seen in very nice places, Cozy seems to make its own kind of music. 4.5 Stars.
I have to start by saying the title cozy dinner fits perfect. I want to shout out our waitress Wendy she was awesome. I had the 8 oz. New York Strip(medium) with butterfly shrimp, popcorn shrimp and a loaded bake potato all for $16.99. The steak came out a medium as order and the meal was filling. It was good. My girlfriend ordered the waffles with strawberry topping. Looked delicious and by the she cleaned her plate it must have been. Next time I go I'll be sure to have some pie because it looked amazing and maybe some broasted chicken to go with it. The only thing wrong with my order was the bake potato was way overdone and the steak needed some seasoning.
Real good food, and open atmosphere like you were at home (compared to sitting in a cubicle), plus, wonderful smiley service!

Clean, friendly, prompt service. Great steak cooked perfectly. Baked potato not so great. Really good Chicken Fried Steak, but the mashed potatoes were either whipped to death or were box potatoes. The ice cream is AMAZING!!!
If you want food from here it's best to go in and sit down. After a long, busy day, I ordered food from here to-go. When I get there to pick up the staff were all smiles and polite until I said I was there to pick up my order. After that I got a gruff "pick up is at the back counter. Make sure you sign your order!" I go to the back and wait the last few minutes as this guy back there silently puts the last bit together, sets the order in front of me and walks off. I had to flag the gruff waitress to ask her where I sign so I could leave. My skillet was great, but the wife and daughter got strawberry waffles and said they were rubbery and practically inedible. I wonder if the attitude I got from staff was because they thought I was a Dasher and not the customer, but really they should be more friendly towards everyone. The place was only about a third full so it's not like they were super busy.
First time for early bird breakfast, great deal. We ordered the carrot cake to go. The most awesome carrot cake. It was not too sickly sweet like others I've had. It was moist and full of pecan nuts. We bought the homemade apple pie the next day and was very disappointed. The apple filling was tasteless and watery which made the bottom soggy. There was no spices in the filling. The crust was also tasteless. They need to upgrade the apple pie. I'm now hesitant to try the other pies.
I would say the service was wonderful. Drinks were consistently filled and the staff were polite. I’d say the most disappointing part was the chocolate cake. 5$ was absolutely outrageous for what you’re getting. The cake tasted old and like it was made out of a solid block of cheap frosting. The Veggie burger was good and I would recommend it. Onion rings were average. I wouldn’t say I’d come back.
We have been coming here for many years and been pleased with the food and service. Our last visit was a very negative one. We ordered from the senior menu. Apparently that meant zero service but the normally tasty food. No drink refills. The waitress stopped at the table across from us seven or eight times and kept her back to us. Raised hands for service were ignored. I finally went to the front counter and asked for a refill. When we were leaving I saw the reason. The man had ordered a takeout meal. The waitress was angling for a bigger tip. We did leave a small tip, but I am sorry we did.
It's ok. Food not great. Service worse.
My recent grubhub delivery order was missing a few items but was promptly replaced with an added pie upon second delivery. Satisfied.
My complaint is mainly with the website. It is NOT UPDATED. prices are from years ago. I haven't been in years, so I decided to look at the menu on the website before going there. I didn't realize …
There is a very fluctuating love affair in the culinary world. One day you go to a restaurant/place and every bite is delicious, sorry if it sounds too extreme. Let’s say a Carne Asada plate, Mexican…
Man, cozy diner...how you've fallen from grace. Food was not great, service was abysmal, pricing is just too dang expensive. At no point did a wait staff member offer my accompanied person a refill on their water. I rarely come here anymore due to how expensive they got, now I just have more reason not to come back again.
I grew up in Chico with Jacks and Cozy Dinner, and Koloa Kitchen. The food was a fair price and very good.. Local open here and that is something to be proud of. But today the manager had her 2 kids with her in the restaurant and carrying her baby around. Know I do understand that it's hard times and schedules and illnesses. But that not a good excuse to have your children there. The food was bad... and they mess up the whole order. Cozy dinner had a few regular there that are in there 80 and 90s. What if one of those kids have a cold. That could be very serious to the elderly.
First time coming to the Cozy Diner and I will say I’m really surprised by how well they were rated in comparison to the experience we had. On the plus side- EXCELLENT service, very quick and efficient and polite and couldn’t ask for better host and servers, even on Easter when they’re busy. Unfortunately the quality of the food just isn’t there. Chicken fried chicken sandwich- overcooked, one end had a gray pallor to it, and the sandwich comes dry which I wasn’t expecting (no Mayo or mustard served with it- just ketchup on table) Strawberry crepes- I was so so excited for this, and then so immediately disappointed when I realized it was canned strawberry pie filling. Couldn’t eat more than one bite. Combo: eggs with ham?, hashbrowns and sausage with French toast. Eggs were generic, the hashbrowns were pretty awful. Cooked on the outside but so thick the inside wasn’t cooked at all. Sausage was normal store bought stuff. Now let me just say, I’m pretty sure the French toast was a French toast bake like how people make monkey bread, and that was super delicious and rich and full of cinnamon goodness. If I could make a recommendation it would be to make icing to go with it like a cinnamon roll. Mimosa- no complaints! Overall, $50 later, I wouldn’t go back when there are many other great dining options in Chico, but I do very much appreciate how great the staff was.
The food is typical diner fare and not bad to eat. But don’t ever order through Grubhub or DoorDash because Cozy Diner has NEVER gotten our order correct. They blame us. They blame the driver. They never just apologize and own it. we’ve never had a problem with any other restaurant we order through delivery. We’ve given them many chances. Just not worth it. So when we want diner food we will just go somewhere else. Sorry Cozy. You lose.
Extremely grouchy waitress rolls her eyes seemed like she didn't want to be there. Didn't know about what wines she had looked irritated when she had to go ask. Food was average my taco salad shell was so stale and even chewey. My nephew quesadilla was so greasy it was on a puddle.of grease at the bottom needed 4 napkins just to get it edible.literally squeezing it in a napkin. Waitress disappeared so many times had to get up and ask others even had to go to the register to ask for the check. This place is not cheap 16 dollars for a taco salad half filled w meat and salad and beans. Cheep food in a shell so fill it up. ? Not a very clean place very old.
The dinner is really cozy, the food is not, bacon was not crispy felt like it was old, pancakes were ok also, syrup was not good also felt like old, orange juice is great. Service was not the best either, nobody came to refill water or even offer us water we had to ask for it.
Not my favorite very bland and it cost 32 by the time I was time I was done. 1 meal 1 person. The service was nice kind.
Ate here a while ago with family, I have never been back. I don't plan on it either. We were dissatisfied with not only the service but the cleanliness and food were not up to par. It is what it is

I found this place on google and it had several stars so I figured I’d try it out. Never in my life have I experienced food that awful. I ordered the New York stake with a stuff potato and steamed veggies. The veggies legit looked like veggies out of a frozen winco bag. The meat was over cooked and the cheese they put on the potato was legit a slice of cheese. They advertise on the site that they are affordable and good food. 80 dollars for the worst food of my life. Highly recommend not going. Unless you are over 70 years old with no taste buds.
We purchased 2 meals last night, beer batter fish. It did not have any fish in it. It was total batter. We eat here a lot and have always been happy but last night was horrible.
We have been going here for awhile, more so recently with delivery. The quality of the food just keeps dropping. Tonight I ordered a chicken fried steak breakfast. Not only was everything cold, there was no chicken fried steak. This is a popular place and one review will not change that, but you guys have got to do better or individuals like me will continue to slowly leave.
Had heard great things. First time in for breakfast and my wife is sick from uncooked eggs(ordered over medium) undercooked and potatoes. Our waitress came back once to only say she was going on break and someone else would serve us, never saw her. The place was not busy yet. We had a full day planned in our new city. Now she’s sick in bed. Called and spoke with manager Oscar and all’s he would offer were new eggs and potatoes.other than that, tough… Never to grace their doors again👎🏼
Entirely too expensive to not receive all your food including syrup with all the waffles & pancakes. Sausage not done at all. Bacon's have done definitely bunch of items that will have you ill honestly not mad that everything didn't even come maybe better if you dine in I guess
i used to come here with my grandpa all the time but this place has gone down hill bad. came for breakfast within a minute of us sitting down she asked if we were ready to order we replied no, but didn’t even take our drink order, someone else had to. just dropped our drinks on the table and walked off couldn’t even ask for a straw. no one proceeded to come to our table, so i got up to ask for a straw and the girl just stared at me with a sour look on her face. our waitress only came to drop off our food and check…… i even said i was going to need a refill and most of my meal i had to eat without a drink. id rather wait longer for better service then be rushed out with terrible burnt food and no customer service. i was in shock more than eating.
Greasy spoon kind of place. The food made me ill and wasn't very good. Needs a thorough cleaning
The food was okay at best, the price did not match the quantity or quality of the food. The host didnt know the ounce amount of how much one would get if you ordered something like lemonade or milk, which I guess is fine? But maybe she shoulda showed the cups for reference cause I wouldn't have ordered them if I knew how little you were getting in reality. All around 2/5 service otherwise was pretty decent they were nice people
I ordered 1 pan of beans and 1 pan of rice for a dinner. I was quoted $150 for both. I sent my son to pick it up and pay with my card. I was charged $346.70 with a "customer fee" of $10.40. I went to the restaurant to get some answers. The Asst Mgr was little help although she said she noticed the price earlier and thought it strange. She started the run around on me. She said the real Mgr will be in the next morning. I went the next day and talked to the Mgr. He was no help and simply shrugged his shoulders. He said I should talk to the owner "Antonio". He should be in Monday. Well, I'm tired of wasting my gas so I'm reporting this restaurant to the Better Business Bureau. As stated by law, restaurants must list their menu prices. I was told by the Mgr they do not have to for special orders. This means they can charge whatever they want. I did a cost comparison of nearby Mexican food restaurants. Las Tapitias charges $31.99 per pan of beans and rice. The Aztlan charges $35 per pan of the same. This was based on to feed 40 people. Both restaurants were shocked that Cozy was charging so much. I was overcharged by $196.70. I'm a 70-year old disabled woman on a fixed income and I feel like I was taken advantaged of. As of today, no one from Cozy has called me to off some type of solution.
My mother in law ordered a 2 trays one of beans and one of rice enough for 40 people. Mind u not authentic taste like beans came from can and they used canned tomatoes or tomatoe sauce for rice. And was charged $364.74 yes $$$$ $364.74!!! Ridiculous when she was quoted $150...
I’ve been a loyal customer at Cozy Diner for over a decade, often eating here weekly. It used to have great food, excellent service, and a true hometown feel. Since the new owner took over, the quality has gone downhill—food is often cold, corners are clearly being cut, and many great staff members are gone. Today was the last straw. We ordered huevos rancheros and chicken fried steak and eggs. The food arrived in under five minutes. The huevos rancheros had hot eggs and sides, but the meat was lukewarm. The chicken fried steak was cold and raw inside, with hot gravy poured over it, and the bacon was rubbery and clearly reheated. The waitress agreed the food was raw and apologized, but when she spoke to the owner, he said to only take half off the bill and completely dismissed us. After 10+ years as a customer, that level of food quality and disrespect is unacceptable. There are many better places in now in Chico, and I won’t be returning.
yea I’m just here because I door dashed me steak and eggs this morning which I recommend no one ever does from this place.. for one your food will show up cold for two if you ask for medium rare they really don’t care and you will get what you get and then get told there is nothing they can do for me . The steak was beyond over cooked..if you can’t and or don’t know how to cook a steak medium rare then you probably shouldn’t have a job as a cook.. I’d say there are atleast 10 better breakfast places in Chico ca ..1/10 .terrible place and the food is basic
Me and my cousin came here one morning for breakfast. We ordered our food and our food came, and while we were in the middle of eating, our food cockroaches started walking down the barstool so We stopped eating we told a Male waitress that worked there that we seen bugs and he grabbed his towel and tried to kill the bugs right in front of us.
ROACHES! ROACHES! ROACHES! My cousin was in town so I thought I would take her out to breakfast. We walk it. We get sat at the very first booth next to the front door. Staff was initially friendly. We received our food. As we started to eat my cousin looked at me and pointed to a roach that was on the back of the bench crawling towards my shoulder. I jump up. Look down and there are several more. They seemed to be coming from a tear in the seat cushion. Staff came by I stated there way roaches. One gentleman used a towel to wipe away the initial roaches walking around on the bench. Then more came out of the whole so he ended up sticking the towel in the whole to prevent more from coming out. The waitress came up and said she didn’t see anything. The guy who wiped away the first couple said “it’s fine.” We didn’t eat our food and wanted to leave. We were presented a bill. I paid the bill and left. I won’t ever eat here again. Stay clear of this place.
Spent $48 on "dry aged choice rib eye" and shrimp. Chewy, mealy, grisely, thin peice of not rib eye with no seasoning and reheated shrimp. The staff was great but go to Denny's down the street. Better quality and better price for dinner style.
Will not eat here again! Poor service and can't get your order correct, twice in a row , then the food comes cold too. I ordered a Breakfast Burrito and asked for no eggs on it and to add tater tots. My burrito came with eggs on it, so I politely asked to have it remade without eggs; especially because food prices have gone up and I'm tired of ordering food and paying a lot of money for it to only be incorrect. If I don't say anything then they'll just keep making food incorrectly and I'll be paying for something I didn't order. My burrito came out the 2nd time with them using the same tortilla from my 1st burrito with cheese on top that was cold, they didn't put the egg inside like I asked them not too so they got that correct but then they put the tater tots on the side not in the burrito like I asked and then they put new cheese inside the burrito that wasn't melted and a ton of sausage. All in all, I didn't get what I paid for and my burrito came incorrect and cold the 2nd time. Will not be back, won't even mention the other items I order that we're just as bad. Truly sad!
