La Barra is an excellent Mexican restaurant and bar right here in Dana Point. In the Albertsons shopping center. The food is fresh and full of flavor, and the service is always friendly and attentive. I've been coming here to get work done rather than being in my home office all day. Whether you’re coming in for dinner or just drinks, it’s a great spot to relax and enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine. Highly recommend!

We are pretty lucky here in SoCal next to our neighbor to the south thus have lots of decent places for tacos and such. And perhaps I don't get in trouble by saying this but when you see a place is mixed with everyone with lots of our southern neighbors customers you know the place is legit. We haven't order anything, food wise, here and didn't like it, tacos, burritos, bowl and yesterday some chips with carne asada and they were all great, portion is nice, price is good and tasty stuff is what you will get. Been drinking tequila for a while but lately switch over to mezcal and love it. The bartender gave me a warning about the smokiness but ordered a coconut margarita with half sweetened and it just good. The mezcal smokiness it's just right but can't say the same thing for whisky though, anyone out there have an explanation or just personal preference. Next time will try something a bit smokier and see if I like it.

Lupe's chain of Mexican eateries is a great place to stop by to have a quick bite. The food is prepared fresh and authentic. The Dana Point place was crowded when we reached, the crowd was however okay. The staff however was very nice and helpful. Everything we ordered was good but I have had better version of it. Be it spicy shrimp or Briaaa taco. Do not order combo, the rice and beans are just a couple of spoons each. The seating is of fast food and the prices are normal on the lower side. So looking for good fresh authentic Mexican food, go here. With kids and family, I won't recommend. BTW the quesadilla was a a surprise, the tortillas was very very close to Indian plain parantha

I had a fantastic experience on my first visit here. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The food arrived quickly and was delicious - flavorful and well-prepared. The restaurant was clean, from the tables to the restrooms, which I always appreciate. The atmosphere had a great cantina vibe, perfect for a casual outing. I found the prices to be very reasonable, both for the food and drinks, although I didn't have a drink this time. I'll definitely be returning to try the drinks next time. Highly recommend!

Our family would eat at La Barra weekly until they decided to take out all the tables and booths and only have high tops available. I guess they are going for more of the bar vibe. Really disappointing considering dana point is a family oriented area and groups of us would eat there after baseball, sports etc. They are losing a large amount of Customers.

Just be aware martinis are 3oz for $14

Bottom line.... there we three of us. 3 burritos, 2 margaritas and one beer: $80 plus tip. Blown away. Not going back.

Not worth the prices. The drinks are very expensive for what you get. There are far better options in Dana point. I’ve been coming here since they opened and the food has only gotten worse and more expensive since then.
