Maison Cafe + Market Dana Point Reviews
Kudos to all dishes. Good food and ingredients were fresh and varieties of choices.! It was being while I had this beautiful cuisine. Perfect match of French & Italian cuisine. Good choices of cocktails to
Perfect spot for a brunch after a morning hike in the headlands. The space is adorned with charming paintings and feels both vibrant and cozy. The Dutch Baby was the best I’ve ever had: fluffy, almost cake-like but moist. The Chèvre tartine was wonderfully delicious too. Will definitely come back and try other items on the menu!
Excellent staff, the sweet smell of bake bread and hot breakfast of your choice under the umbrella enjoying the sunny weather, great food. Every bit was so good.. try the blueberry jam !!
Sorry to just have discovered this AMAZING restaurant.....GET HERE BEFORE THEY CLOSE on 12/24/2025❣️❣️ I'll be back several times before then, thanks Daniel, you rock. GREAT FLAVORS; delicious ingredients combined with attentive service, atmosphere, and you have a memorable experience 🥘🍽️✨💕
I loved this place. I recommend steak and egg. Its great price and taste. Other two dishes were also awesome.
If I had to describe my experience at this café in one word, it would be amazing! From the moment I walked in, I felt a warm and cozy atmosphere. The interior design was inviting, and the soft background music made the space even more pleasant. The coffee I ordered was exceptional! It had a perfectly balanced taste, a delightful aroma, and you could tell it was made with great skill and care. Every sip was enjoyable, delivering the true essence of a high-quality coffee. Moreover, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They greeted me with warm smiles and even helped me choose the best coffee for my taste. Their kindness and professionalism made my visit even better. Overall, I highly recommend this café! Whether you’re looking for a top-notch coffee or a cozy place to relax, this is the perfect spot. I’ll definitely be coming back! ☕✨
Really fun little breakfast spot in Dana Point. Everything was really good, karina our server, the menu and the food. It was so good that I came back again two days later. Much better than I expected!
Had an amazing and delightful brunch here while visiting the area. Such a nice atmosphere and you can really taste the freshness of the ingredients. Highly recommend the morning bun pastry, and the two tartines we had were delicious. Will absolutely be back!
Easily the best experience I’ve had when looking for somewhere that has incredible quality and taste. The chocolate croissant was absolutely delicious, and the steak and eggs there with smashed potatoes has to be the best possible way to start the morning. The service is prompt and they definitely know what they’re doing and how to treat people. The fresh made hot sauce is also a favorite of ours!
Madison Cafe + Market is a delightful spot for a scrumptious breakfast or brunch in excellent company. The service is exceptional, and their dishes are not only visually appealing but also incredibly tasty. Their "Cured Salmon" Plate stands out as the perfect morning choice. The salmon is expertly seasoned, bursting with flavor, and pairs beautifully with crispy toast and creamy labneh. The "Duck Hash" Bowl is another standout option; it offers a generous portion of flavorful duck meat accompanied by a delightful salad. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this restaurant – it's truly a gem!
Gorgeous cafe located on a beautifully renovated little corner of Dana Point. So many varieties of avocado toasts and mix of European and American style menu for all tastes. We had Avocado toast with arugula and Dutch Boy, they were both fabulous. All the staff that were serving us were super friendly and they looked genuinely happy to be there. One of my new favorite for weekend brunch.
We enjoyed this French cafe-themed sister resto of Giana's (Italian-themed), and are sad to hear (rumoured?) that it will be closing soon. Pictured: the Garden Hash breakfast bowl
Really great service, delicious and filling portions with great options at reasonable prices. Lovely at brunch although the patio on the west side gets a little hot midday due to a lack of breeze coming through. Their “Paris Tea” is an interesting rooty blend that tastes great but isn’t very sweet. They make a dutch baby with the perfect amount of cream and berries in place of pancakes and it’s very popular and incredibly tasty. I had the duck hash plate which was very flavorful and was portioned smaller than some of the other plates my friends had. Overall everything I tasted was excellent and our server was super sweet, would definitely come back any time I‘m in the area.
My favorite brunch spot in Dana Point and one of the best in all of OC. Really fresh and tasty food, great ambiance and excellent service. Loved the Dutch baby. The asparagus was so good. Love the tartines. Must come back soon.

We go here frequently. This sharp and sophisticated French inspired café is popular with locals and visitors alike. Food is always delicious. Service is friendly and attentive. Also, the owner runs the cheese and wine shop next door as well as Giana Italian restaurant 1/10th of a mile away. All very good options.
We visited this highly-rated brunch spot in Dana Point before heading to LAX. With a 4.7 rating and nearly 1,300 reviews, we had high expectations. The restaurant doesn’t take online reservations, but we later learned you can call ahead to reserve a table. The service was warm, and the menu had a unique French-inspired touch. We ordered three coffees, Duck Hash, Avocado Toast, and Warmed Olives as a starter. The Warmed Olives were delicious—warm olive oil, Marcona almonds, and olives on crispy bread made for a great bite. The Avocado Toast was fresh, creamy, and simple but satisfying. However, the Duck Hash was disappointing—lacking flavor, even with added salt. Surprisingly, a fellow diner nearby said he loved it, so tastes do vary! Service was slow, with a 30+ minute wait for food, and they forgot our utensils. Overall, it was a mixed experience—some dishes were great, others underwhelming, and service could be improved.
We had a great experience overall, the food was absolutely delicious. I tried the chèvre and my wife had the tomate, and both dishes were full of flavor and beautifully prepared. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and very helpful throughout the meal. However, the host at the front door could use some training in hospitality. She seemed disinterested and unwelcoming, which wasn’t a great first impression. Thankfully, the quality of the food and the excellent service once we were seated made up for it. Would definitely come back, but hope for a warmer welcome next time.

Even though my partner and I were rushing to a wedding, we had to stop by and pay homage to Chef Danielle's Maison Cafe. The staff was very accommodating and we enjoyed our food. The food was beautifully presented, and the attention to detail is going to be truly missed... it's becoming more rare. And the beet cured salmon that gave it the perfect hue, very beautiful. There was one incident with the tapenade where I bit into an olive pit. It was that hard where my tooth felt like it cracked. I told our server and the manager who came by to explain it was an uncooked farro, then gave us a sticky toffee bun-like pastry. Wasn't required of her, but appreciated her anyways for the gesture. The tapenade was really pretty though and unique being made from Castelvetrano olives. Good luck to Chef Danielle on whatever she decides to do. Maison & Doheny are iconic and you've touched & inspired many. We wish you the best!

The food was AMAZING BUT the service or lack there of we could have done without. We were excited to try this restaurant as the menu sounded scrumptious and boy did it deliver. Everything was fresh, flavorful and mouthwatering. Unfortunately our experience was tainted by the really poor service we received from beginning to end from “Server S” (according to the receipt). The host was able to seat us almost immediately. We sat there reviewing the menu selected the items we wanted to try but we continued to sit there and sit there looking around trying to get the attention of any server. We finally flagged down the same host who sat us as she was seating another table. We asked her who our server was. She stated she would let her know and she came back with a carafe of water and glasses. We figured our server would soon be there and yet we still waited some more. From the time we were seated to the time the server finally acknowledged and came to our table, almost 15 minutes had past. Other tables who had been seated after us in the patio area that we had clear view of and indoors, received their drinks and their orders taken. Some even started to get their food. The worse part of it, is the server didn’t even acknowledge nor apologize that she delayed coming to our table. Her first sentence was asking us if we had “any questions on the menu.” So of course I had to respond with a little bit of push back with, “No we don’t have any questions but we did want a server.” She took our food order and because some of us had our blood sugar dropping, we also ordered some pastries. Those delivered quite quickly and we were able to regain some composure to the horrible start of the meal but she continued to ignore us and everything took extra long to get to us. If it wasn’t for the amazing food, I would have only left 1 star for “Server S”. As someone who has worked in food service for 10+ years, this server needs a lot customer care training. I understand what it’s like to be slammed or have a complicated table but you don’t take it out on other tables so that they have suffer your wrath. It didn’t even look like she was super busy but who knows what may have occurred prior to us getting there. Maybe she just didn’t want to wait on our table. Whatever the reason was, we didn’t deserve to be treated like that.
The food was good. Nothing amazing, but good. We didn’t get served for a very long time and it was hard to get anyone’s attention, although other tables didn’t seem to have that problem.

This is a nice cafe with a nice selection of bowls, salads, and plate du jour.
Such a beautiful place, but the food was unremarkable. The service was nice. The atmosphere was lovely, but none of us were impressed with the weekend brunch even though the prices were great! We ordered the Dutch Baby which was super flat and not fluffy like a traditional Dutch Baby. And the middle was still raw. The crème on top was the star of the dish, but there was very little. The Duck Hash could have been great, but it was super sweet and then there was a pocket of salt like it hadn’t been mixed well. But the duck was cooked well. The Two Egg breakfast was bland. There was no seasoning. Not even salt. I noticed the next table asked for salt and pepper and they self-seasoned their food. It came on a bed of just dry arugula. The berries were fresh, but all in all just not great food. I probably wouldn’t come back to eat, but the atmosphere was nice.
