Bonnie's Cafe El Paso Reviews
This place is good, I don't know why it's not popular. Burritos are enormous and the food is good.... also service is very good the only bad thing is that the place is hidden a little.
First time here and really liked it. Flour gorditas were full of flavor. Had the chile colorado and arriero and they were toped with just the proper amout of guisado. Flour tortilla was a bit burned on one, but not to the point of not being edible. Also had a avocado burger with fries and that was also very good. Will definitely be coming back for more tasty food in the near future.
Best burritos on the east side
Food was so good!
Great customer service, good atmosphere and delicious food!! The perfect combo!! 😊
Amazing burrito wraps. My fav is the..... Well actually they're all amazing. I do order the bean and cheese alot. Super good even the tortas are good too. Need to try the plate options I've heard they are also great tasting
Had the ranchero eggs breakfast plate, Large Menudo and Torta de Milanesa combo with fries and drink added beans to my torta and extra drink everything was amazingly delicious and for a good price to
This place just takes you back to a traditional dinner, brings back memories and not to mention the food. Food is fresh, tasteful, just wonderful. Highly recommended!!
I love stopping here on my drive to Austin. Get a burrito cut in half and you have food for your drive. I like the relleno, deshebrada, and chicken mole.
Small place, but BIG burritos! Fast and friendly staff. The food is great, and the salsa is better. At a great price too.
Love the "oldies" look they got going inside! Food is great and friendly staff. You have to try their monster burritos. Excellent!
Really cool little diner that’s like a blast from simpler times with simple authentic food that can be eaten on the go or inside so you can enjoy the atmosphere !
Best burrito I've had in a while. The cashier is so nice makes u feel like u family..great food 😊
Ordered chile relleno and brisket burrito it was delicious 😋 love the background music
The rajas con queso was superb. You should get the super burrito, because you'll love it. Refried beans are superb!! I even enjoyed the Spanish rice which usually I don't like but Bonny surprised me. Big plus is that Pepsi is served fountain style and Coke Cola in cans for people who have a taste for it. Myself, I'm a Pepsiholic. Hey, if you're on the way Eastside stop by Bonny's Cafe on Gateway E. just before the Circle K on Zaragosa. You will become a repeat customer once you try Bonny's.
Best red Chile! Reminds me of my mom's. The owner is awesome as well. The place is nicely decorated and has music that goes along with the decor.
In town for business real good authentic Mexican food , I got the tamales they were really tasty.
Never knew this place existed when I lived in El Paso. The amount you spend and the food proportions is such a good trade-off. The environment is very laid back with the 1950s diner theme. We will be stopping by again when we are back in town.
The service is amazing all the staff is friendly and the food is so good ! I had went to the other Bonny’s and honestly I didn’t really like it i definitely think this location is the better one !
im in colorado now and omg there no comparison. The food at Bonnies and in el paso texas in general is way better than whats here in denver.
Best atmosphere in a cafe great music!! Great service! Best price for the amount of food received. Best breakfast I have had in a while.
Been coming here as a little girl with my dad then on my own as a teen at lunch and now as a adult buying the best damn burrito in elpaso. Great service and delicious food love it here always have and I always will.
Best Huevos Rancheros in El Paso Texas by far, also their Super-burritos are awesome as well
Very good food. Prices not bad customer service excellent from Paulina n Carla. Great music not loud. Small place but very clean all I can say great experience here.
Fantastic ! Service was phenomenal and the food by far the best in El Paso . We love the environment - it’s clean , cozy and the vintage vibe is awesome . Bonnie’s cafe is our new place to go . Support local ! We had huevos rancheros - burritos and the coffee at diner delicious . Pancakes and enchiladas to go . Authentic . Great prices for the quality .
Friendly employees, cool 50s theme heavy on the Marilyn Monroe, along with delicious food at a great price. Extra points for the barbacoa being made with savory cachete. I'm from Texas and I love my greasy cheek meat! Would highly recommend! If I come back to El Paso I will be trying out their lunch or dinner option.
Quaint hole in the wall on the East side. Their breakfast is delicious. We love their chorizo con huevos! Will be back and try their lunch menu.
We were there for breakfast for the 1st time and the very 1st thing that amused us was the 50's themed colors, booths, and checkered floors and awesome 50's swing music playing .. the food was excellent and the prices were fair, we did not miss village inn at all 😂 the man that greeted us maybe he was the owner or the cook or both ! He was nice but the cashier lady maybe was his daughter she was not friendly at all and didn't even say hi ! , the server/waitress young lady was great as well so in general we would totally recommend this place and will definitely be back 👍🏼
Always go here for a quick bite to eat and have soo many good options! Staff is always nice and friendly and the atmosphere is always uplifting! They also always play oldie music, which is a plus also! Highly recommend! 👍🏾
They don’t normally sell their tortillas but since we came in from Arizona they sold us a dozen to take back home! We love their tortillas.
My husband and I were thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious, and the portion for the price was incredible! The service was very attentive and responsive. We will definitely be going back
Its been years since I was last here and today brought back memories. Food is still amazing
This place is always on point with their food and the ladies are always super nice. Prices are great as compared to other places that serve the same type of food.
Good consistency on the food being good
Oh how I missed eating here as you see 👀 pictures of Merlyn Monroe, James Dean, Elvis Presley and listen to the oldies but goodies. The super burros are still delicious and the employees are very nice and professional. Thank you for completing my day.
Great cooked to order "Super" burritos. When they say super they mean it. Bring an appetite when you come here. Also tortillas are freshly made making the burritos that much more authentic. Highly recommend
easily 5 stars all around, good food, nice atmosphere and fair pricing. staff was super friendly and attentive too. just wish y'all had a west side location!
Love the huge burritos with a hand made flour tortillas, and chile rellenos was so delicious;Highly recommended.
Hidden gem. Stop by and enjoy their menu. You will not be disappointed! I don't even care that much for Mexican food but really liked it. We had different dishes and everything was very good.
We stopped by for breakfast, our order was served promptly. The inside is decorated like a 50s diner. The burritos are huge and at a very good price. I had the chile colorado burrito. The red chile had very good flavor. We tried the enchiladas rojas and verdes and some green chilaquiles. The green chile was delicious too. The chilaquiles were made with freshly fried tortillas with the perfect amount of crunchyness, not too hard and they didn't go soggy. The enchiladas come a pancake on the side. After eating the savory enchilada plate the pancake tasted glorious, it hit the spot.
What a fun, funky place! Who ever heard of a 50's dinner that serves authentic Mexican food?!? We loved it and prices are super low.
I had the rajas con queso and it was devine. Really really good. Enjoyed it immensely. If you're on the far east side near Gateway E. and Zaragosa definitely stop at Bonny's Cafe just west of the Circle K on Gateway E. You'll become a regular. They specialize in red chile. This is home style cooking at its best.
This place has ONE waitress, ahí os lado the cashier, and Sunday mornings are at full capacity and yet she manages to give EXCELLENT customer service. My husband loves the carnitas wrap and I love their breakfast and coffee. Their 50's theme and music makes it the perfect place for a morning date.
The cashiers are always friendly. The giant burritos hit the spot for a big lunch. Love the chicharrón.
All the food is delicious specially the burritos 😋😋😋😋
Excellent food, service, and price...please don't get greedy and increase prices drastically. The breakfast is when I go....overall good food ,good people ...only thing the chilaquiles need to be a lil more portion.... but they arw delicious
Good food amazing tortillas. The big burrito was too much for me. But worth the price.
The enviroment is welcoming. Very nice and helpful staff. We got a half of breakfast burrito. My wife ordered a red tamale. The tamale was spicy filled with lots of meat and not alot of masa. The burrito was filled with egg, tots, beans and bacon. Very delicious. The theme is 1950's decor with 1950's rock music playing. Goid spot.
Great value! Delicious food! Go eat be happy.
Missy was our server, she immediately greeted us warmly. Great service. Our food was to die for! I got the chicken fried steak, a staple favorite & would highly recommend. Everything was cooked perfectly! The gravy was the bomb! My wife got a hefty burger & it was juicy & perfect. Will definitely be a regular here.
Found Bonny's Cafe using Google Maps, and the raters did not disappoint. This is a quaint, 50's themed restaurant off the access road off IH 10. It has 6 booths and 3 tables. When we walked in the restaurant was full and we know why, the food is excellent! The potions are generous, and the staff was accommodating and friendly. The burrito tortillas are HUGE. The crispy tacos are awesome. We were driving through El Paso and will make Bonny's Cafe a regular stop.
The chile colorado and chile verde burritos were absolutely delicious at the Gateway Blvd East location. Unfortunately, our experience at the newer Pebble Hills location was very different, both the chile colorado and chile verde lacked flavor, and the meat was slightly burnt. If you’re craving a truly good chile colorado, the Gateway Blvd East location is definitely the one to go to.
I was surprised to walk inside and see the whole place decked out retro mid-century! I love it! The servers are a delight and the food came out in a whip. I am absolutely coming back again for more Super Burritos! I’m on a diet but I nearly ate the whole thing! I got the Deshebrada. Light, filling, and so full of flavor! My boyfriend got the Chile Colorado and loved it.
This place was awesome! The burrito is huge! The food was really good! I got the picadillo and it tasted amazing. I would definitely go here again. You got to try it out! The restaurant was nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. They explain things when I had questions and were always willing to help.
The burritos we ordered were great tasting . The girl who took our order was very knowledgeable of the menu with great customer service. Didn't leave with an empty stomach
I always love getting food from Bonny's. The food is so good and it's at such a good price, you'll find it can be cheaper than a lot of other fast food places. The quality of the food never disappoints and the staff is always very friendly. Will always recommend Bonny's!
It's not phenomenal, but it's solid. The super burritos you can split amongst 3 people. Quesadillas are huge. It's a good place.
Tried this place a year after the rest of the state had stopped masking and they wouldn't serve me, but I decided to give them another chance. 4.5 stars overall. Very pleasantly surprised. Great food, great prices, great service. Small but not cozy. Wish it was a little roomier because I think they could swing it. I will definitely return.
Very clean and very good delicious food. The only problem when I was there is that the AC was not working and it was kind of uncomfortable dining in but will recommend the food
Food is really good as always, my only complaint would be that burritos are now more expensive, and you get way less meat. I don't mind paying more, but I expect it to be the same quantity. You do get a massive flour tortilla though😅 gets you full. Other than that, we keep going back because of the service and flavor. The decor is fabulous, you always find something new, it's like playing Waldo. Like the retro aspect of it.
Delicious wrap in a huge freshly made tortilla. I've been eating at this place since I was a teenager at various locations (come back to the west/central!) and it's my favorite picadillo and chile relleno in town. The tortas are huge, too, and the brisket is delicious and tender. It sells out, so get here early. Unlike Rafa's which stuffs the burrito with filling, it's a little more tortilla and a little less filling balance but that's okay with me. The wrap is a good 18 inches or longer, and the filling is tasty and well cooked. The atmosphere here is an old school diner, checker floors and movie star posters on the wall. Very inviting and warm. Great place for a quick lunch or to pick up a hearty meal to go!
I liked my super burrito. The coffee wasn't that great. Their pancakes are pretty good. Prices are amazing for portions. I left with a huge half burrito because I couldn't complete it. I wish the potatoes in the burrito had been a little softer. But besides that, totally going back for more!
Bonny's cafe is a no frills restaurant that offers quality food for average prices. They specialize in LARGE PORTIONED burritos, quesadillas, tortas, menudo, etc. The taste is good, but don't expect great cuisine. I ordered a Super Burrito of Machaca and my wife a large menudo. The burrito was pretty good. My wife said the menudo was average. If you're hungry and want HUGE portions, this might be a place for you. :-)
Bonny’s Cafe is a great place to stop for a quick breakfast! They’re known for their large burritos, and they definitely do not disappoint. The burritos are packed with egg and whatever other filling you like. We tried the chorizo and bacon burritos and left satisfied. The salsas are great too and all for a great price. The setup of the restaurant was a little confusing for us though as we were originally directed to sit down. After no one came to the table to collect our order, we realized we had to order at the front counter. The restaurant is 1950’s themed and is adorned with memorabilia throughout. Despite how good the burritos were though, I couldn’t help but be distracted by some of the food stains in booth we sat at. They’d definitely benefit from a deeper clean.
The atmosphere was cute and retro-styled. Some classic oldies were being played, and there was pictures of Marilyn Monroe on the walls. The burrito was hugeee - I loved the tortilla. It seemed home-made style and tasted great. I ordered the eggs, sausage, tater tot and cheese burrito 🌯 . My boyfriend loved his burrito too - we also got sides of pancakes 🥞 😋 Pricing wasn't too bad, but if you're in the mood for a big burrito - look no further than here.
Good food all around, you can tell the Chefs/cooks have pride in the food they make. Cool atmosphere, price of dishes are not bad. Huge Burritos, my kids and I love this place.
Keep trying! The tortilla was delicious but it was too much. Try spreading a thin layer of beans like sauce on a pizza then it will even it out. Good green and red chili sauces. A little on the pricey side for Chile Relleno Burrito.
I usually like this place (Gateway East location) cuz the food is good but this last time I went it wasn't that great. I ordered picadillo & chicken fajita, both with beans and I'm sorry to say but the way they were served was sub par. The amount of picadillo, I felt was too little, I felt like the tortilla was wrapped around too much & that's all I ate, tortilla. Then the chicken fajita failed too, all I got was chopped up chicken on top of the beans, there were no onions or bell peppers & the amount was lacking too. I was sorely disappointed.
Great food but the prices on their digital menu inside the restaurant are inaccurate and there is a smaller sign completely separate from the menu that says prices are subject to change. So be aware that they can pretty much charge you what they want. The food is always solid and burritos are huge. The chili cheese fries were kind of small for the price.
I was stopping in town for the first time in a few years and decided to stop by for one of the well known"Monster" burritos. The disappointment to learn that they had made them significantly smaller. It was still big but nothing like how it was. I can confidently say it's half the size.
The food was okay. None of the kitchen or front staff were wearing masks. The guy preparing the food was not wearing gloves. I watched the girl at the front restock the forks without washing her hands, touching every end of every fork. I question the cleanliness here. I don’t like writing bad reviews, but you guys need to reevaluate these things.
Went in person to order, had them correct it when they repeated the order back to me and one item was wrong. They still got it wrong! It was busy so I understood the wait time when they told me it would be 20 minutes, until people who arrived after me got their food first. I only order 4 burritos and 1 menudo, nothing was crazy out of the ordinary. No longer going to this location, the one on montwood is better.
I haven’t lived in El Paso for about 5 years so while in town for a wedding I decided to hit up an old favorite. Man have things changed. I ordered the machaca burrito. Cook tells the lady at the register he doesn’t have the right beef to which the lady replies just use brisket. All this goes down in Spanish and they assume I don’t understand them. I figure whatever close enough. Got the burrito and it was egg, beans, jalepenos. Almost no meat, very little onions and tomatoes. What a rip off. There’s signs saying no refills. The whole experience felt like I was being nickle and dimed. The red salsa was the best part of the meal, maybe jar that up and sell it since your restaurant is clearly cutting corners to save money.
Burritos are good but the menudo was very disappointing, it had barely any meat, way less than a regular menudo everywhere else, even though I paid extra for extra meat. Never again :(
We used to love coming here for their super wraps. I went in and ordered 1 chili relleno, 1 Picadillo, 1 Brisket and 1 Bean and cheese. The Brisket and Picadillo tasted like a salt shaker, the Relleno was so hot that it was inedible. The bean and cheese was the only one that tasted decent and thank God that they didn't screw up the cheese fries. So disappointed in Bonny's. Will not be going here again.
Called to ask a question because I'm ordering from uber. Was put on hold for 10 min so I hung up. I try to buy local but it seems like 80% of these places don't have it together.
After my first review broke a record of thousands of views; I messaged the place, showing the placing on the map, for the place. I asked, if I could get a free burrito. Of course, I dont need free food, for reviews!!! I got a cold, dead end answer: "We dont give free food". My tip is worth more than a free burrito. And the girl earned it. But the people answering the messaging are rude and non-appreciating the advertising.
I finally thought I had found a delicious place close to home for burritos/ mexican food. Today I ordered a Carnitas burrito a chile rojo a torta and desebrada. The rojo burrito was for my husband he said it was flavorless/ and his torta Valio you know what! My carnitas burrito was horrible the meat was hard , some parts were extra chewy as if I was eating rubber. I felt as if I was broke and in my kitchen eating leftovers from 2 wks ago. I probably was eating left overs from wks ago, but only difference was that I had to pay for this horrible food. Lesson learned never again. It was my first time and last. Total disappointment. Total waste of money.
Where's the minus 5 star. A one star is way to much for this place , 20 dlls for two burritos?!? My first and last time there. I've had way better burritos in the north east for 5 dlls. I DO NOT recommend this place , unless you enjoy eating "thick tortillas"....
Usually have the best customer service and the food is amazing. Only giving one star because I called my order into the wrong location and was refused to put an order in here. Long time customer lost for a $8 burrito
It's been a year since I reviewed this restaurant. But I had to update this one because employees changed and now service is noticably altered. I guess the only way to get an order in is to be there in person. I called to place an order. Was put on hold and was forgotten about. Ten minutes later on hold I hung up. Called was apologized too and put on hold again. Tried to wait for a manager but I didn't want to wait another ten minutes. Don't call in orders just show. They don't have a good system in play or crew at the time.
Bad service didn't take my order had 2 wait about 20 more minutes 4 my food food 2 greasy and atmosphere kind of loud wouldn't recommend.
The most horrible experience happened . It smelled so bad today like if they slaughter a cow and were cleaning the intestines. The nice cashier mentioned that they had burned the brisket . The food was not delicious nor tasty
I ordered a big burrito. Honestly it’s just tortilla. It has no flavor at all. It was brisket. The brisket tasted like If it’s sat For a while, 90% of this burrito was just tortilla. It’s not good at all. Do not recommend it. You’ve been worn not worth the price.
There are better restaurants close by. Food was luke warm. Pancakes, bacon, tortillas all seemed to be frozen items just warmed up. Guisado didn’t taste good. Coffee was too strong that I got a headache. Edible food. Will not recommend or go back.
I have always enjoyed this place but today I do not know if they have new people new cooks or what but it was not good, the cashier has a tell me what you want and leave attitude, the food was not good at all, the colita the pavo was mostly fat not much meat, the carnitas burrito was not so bad but bearly had avocado and picode gallo. To be honest I dont think i would even come back after this.
Come here all the time. The breakfast burritos are awesome. This time idk what happened... it was slow l, got my order, got egg and ham super burrito. And an egg, potato, and chorizo. Verry disappointed. My egg and ham burrito was sprinkled with eggshells... I threw half of my burrito because all I took a bite was egg shells. My lady got egg potato and chorizo.. they didnt include the chorizo... also I got upgraded for some cheese fries which I never ordered. And when i got home my fries upgraded was missing.. I did get my ketchup.... total useless. Train, train train....smh.
