Usually use drive thru. But nice people and have only messed up a couple of times, Usually really accurate.
I just love it, I was there with my little grandson and it was this guy working there and believe me he was helping everyone thet was getting onto McDonald, I was very sorprice, I forgot to get his name but he is like 50 years old person, very attended with any person getting inside the restaurant, and this old lady cleaning tables and staring conversation with the people and helping everyone who finished eating to take their garbage away to the garbage can. I felt good to be there getting attention from them. Good place to take your kids and eat there once in a while.
The employees who work at the McDonald's on 1st Street, close to Nob Hill are very friendly and helpful. My favorite time is in the morning for a coffee and sausage and egg biscuit.

Running late to airport, I hesitantly made my way to this location's drive through. The egg McMuffin I ordered was perfect. The muffin was precisely toasted, and the egg was a perfect over medium. The diet coke was on point, and service was timely and polite.
Yeah, I know... fast food joint... But I will always have a soft spot for McDonalds and this location is a pretty good one in terms of giving you what you order in the drive thru and when I ask for my food made to order "fresh", they almost always get it right.
The 1st Location is clean and installed the electronic ordering system...Get used to it, this is the way of our future. Besides it removes your ability to point fingers about your order being incorrect. LOLOLOLOL
Last night I went thru the drive thru and two cars in front of me , their car died. It would not start and then I noticed the employees come outside to assist this person. I was totally, impresessed. The car finally moved and the staff went back to serving the rest if us. Good job ! Btw, quarter pounder was good too, lol)
I was going to meet an associate for a meeting at Starbucks last year but found it crowded. We decided to go to McDonald's across the parking lot instead. We had good coffee and breakfast for a fraction of the cost and got to have our meeting in the corner booth.
I stopped in the drive through to get my God daughter a happy meal. The service was prompt and the flow of cars were good. This is a busy McDonald's.
this McDonald's is always clean and well taken care of but the drive-thru is kind of stressful and has a strange merging area. The inside is okay, but usually extremely busy because it is the only McDonald's on the main stretch of highway going towards hecker pass.
It was recently renovated and it is in a nice plaza. However, depending on the time of day dining in might be a hassle, especially if it is busy. This is one of 4 McDonald's in Gilroy and it definitely better service than most. Quick service and polite employees.

I'm giving 3 Stars only because the lady that took our order in the drive-thru was very rude. Other than that our order was quick, hot and correct and the young man that gave us our order was very nice.
The drive thru is hit or miss regarding wait time, and it's arbitrary. You never know when it's going to "hit". The food is as expected, fresh and hot, but you never know how long it will take to get it.
I had to wait for 20 minutes in the special.parking area. All the food was cold and I dont know why we had to wait so long there wasn't anything special we ordered?? The guy that came out said they were short handed... but in my eyes I was still disappointed because there is nothing worse than soggy and cold fries. 🥶
Have some good B- french fries if you add lots of salt. Just found out the fries aren't vegan and I've been eating them aaaarghh! Coffee may be weak but it's only a dollar! Guess that was my last trip there!
Didn't have enough people on a Sunday. Soooo, they were closed except for the drive thru. Took 20 plus minutes. Don't know what it is about this corner of First St., but I try to avoid both Starbucks and this place. Granddaughters visiting being the exception...

Took 4x as long using kiosk to order. And I still had to fill my own large Coke in one of those I deplore 30 choice dispensers! Next several customers to come in were served at register.

It's fine, but no longer offers egg McMuffins later than breakfast like it used to. Also, either somebody there has no idea how to make mochas or the machine is broken because I constantly have to get mine remade because it comes out gross and watery.
It's fast food. I did like the ability to use a kiosk to place the order. I received my order promptly. And I guess they have teamed up with another company so you can order your food and have it delivered.
Got Uber delivery. Driver was perfect. Fries, ordered large and paid extra, were undercooked and cold. No napkins. No straw for my drink. Luckily I was at home and have those things. Threw away almost all of the cold fries. Prob won’t want a delivery to the worksite.
Recent upgrades are a nice touch to the dining area and restrooms. However the smaller dining room over the new kiosks could have been executed better. So I used the kiosk and expected to have my food brought to me as the kiosk stated. No such luck! We also had to insist the staff clean all the empty table as they were a mess. I assumed they’d pick up trash and food from the floor as well but that was just wishful thinking. I’m guessing they may be understaffed but a resourceful manager should have done much better.

I ordered a large Diet Coke from the drive thru. It came to something like $1.68. When I pulled up to pay I dropped a dime on the floor of my car. Couldn't open the door to try to get it and being a senior with back problems, I couldn't bend forward to look for the dime. Told the cashier what happened. I had to drive around the front of McDonald's in order to open the door to get the dime. I assume McDonald's is doing pretty bad to not let me bring the dime in the next day.

Went through the drive through. Modern with what looks like modern black garage door openings via a bifurcating lane that kinda zipped us through. Lots of through in this review - my apologies. Service was quick - happy meal and a burger. Burger like cardboard in Styrofoam. Happy meal in the back seat- no audible complaints or praise. Mostly found uneaten at the end of the trip. Toy found broken and crammed down a seat bolster.
This place used to be the spot to go to and not have to worry about any issues but lately there has been nothing but consistent problems with even as well as trying to submit an order through the app either, it’s the McDonald’s system or the workers inside of the location, but it seems every time I put an order it gets canceled And yet there’s no one ever in the lines when I’m doing so.

Waited a long time to get are food. They didn't even call are #, they placed food on counter and walked away. I asked several times if it was my order and I was ignored. As the manager passed by I tried getting her attention, they looked at me and continued walking. So disrespectful who has people like this working for them. The manager had horrible customer service towards my sister inlaw. There is no communication between the staff. The gentleman that was taking people's orders didn't know that the fish fryer was out of service and my sister inlaw ordered the fish fillet. Nobody came to our table or called our number to let us know they aren't making fish fillets. We waited over 30mins for our food to the point m sister inlaw went to the manager about it and that's when we found out about fish fryer. The manager said to my sister that she could order something different and my sister told her that she is vegetarian. The manager ended up telling her that she can either order something different (and not giving my sister any ideas vegetarian food options) or she could get a refund. I know they were busy but they need to communicate a lot better. Otherwise the rest of the food we got was good.
One of the slowest drive thru's I have ever been in. It just barely crawls along, on a Tuesday afternoon.. Seriously not happy and won't be coming back here again.
As a dasher it makes no sence for me to be waiting dont even do a mobile order its the same story not started untill you arrive theres no point in mobile ordering. At least if u dash it your not having to wait its the dasher standing there. Dire through is always packed here.
The store has changed a lot since I was inside last. There are computer screens to place your orders but you still have to stand on line if you want to pay cash. They were very slow for dinner time. Not a fast trip. Not happy with new system and not looking forward to going back.
The drive-through can get pretty busy at certain times of the day. Before driving away with food for my family, I make it a point to check that everything I purchased is there because I have frequently been shorted a sandwich here and there. Another pet peeve with this location: they charge 25 cents for extra tubs of sauce beyond the 1 or 2 that come with a normal order of chicken nuggets.
Last night I waited over forty five minutes for my order when I got it home I was shorted one sandwich not only shorted my order was obviously and deliberately incorrect because they tried to get off giving me a value meal chicken sandwich for a big Mac which not only comes in a box but Carry's a 5.29 price because of the time and discrepicy in the cost of my food which my friend payed for I went back I was disputed on the fact in which took another thirty minutes or so before agreement to give me the sandwich I paid for they did not put the sauce on it theses girls wre rude offensive and racially bias to me I have never and I mean never been treated so bad in my life it is to bad because it use to be a great spot to eat how ever now they are not following virus regs because in the time I was stuck there I observed three different people going in and out unmasked one of which left stating he was not an employee he walked inside unmasked and came out with two bags of food and basically laughed at me for still standing there as well as gave icecream cone to another unmasked person again ahead of me getting my sandwich enough is enough it was to rip me off for the food or the company for the money which is in either case wrong if you have had this experience please please report it to the OWNER not the manager!!! OR take your business to macds on tenth St you can trust CARMAN!!!! this experience us night shift however they rotate hours so your chance to get one of these dishonest people handling your food and stealing from their boss who is a very dedicated t o his franchise he deserves our feed back even if not more so it being on the negitive he will want to make them serve us proper !
If you order bacon, best make sure it's actually on the sandwich or burger. Third time I ordered and paid for bacon and there was of course none. Only reason I have two stars is because they refunded my money after I called. This place is still garbage. It's like they can't read the computer screen. They never get an order right. I mean it was a mobile order. How hard is that?

Every time I go to this McDonald's, they mess up something in my order. Literally every time. The food is fine, otherwise. It's McDonald's. There is rarely much deviation in the food's quality from restaurant to restaurant. It's the service that really garners my low rating for this particular franchise. Another small annoyance, but not the fault of the staff, is that this location gets extremely long lines around mealtime. Just be aware of that, and you should be fine. If you're in the mood for McDonald's food, this franchise will serve you just fine. Just be sure to check your bag before you leave, and ask for your receipt.
To begin with, they dont have toilet cover sheets in their restroom. Second, I placed my order to go on the self service kiosk and waited for almost 10 minutes after watching them fill orders AFTER mine was placed. I finally brought it to their attention and they quickly put it together for me.
Waited 10min.. For a a sausage mcmuffin.. That forgot the sausage. When I got my carmel macchiato hot coffee, it didn't taste like coffee. It tasted like hot milk like they forgot to put the coffee in there.... I'll give it another shot, but this day was not that day. They should try and do better
Couldn't sleep at 2 AM and decided to get something to eat, saw this place was 24 hours, drove all the way there and saw there were cones in front of the drive thru. Had to drive all the way to the other McDs on the other side of town because the the workers there were too lazy to actually work.
My grandma was ordering food at the drive thru, her English isn't great but you can still understand her the girl working at the window cut her off and told us the price and we werent even done with our order. RUDE! She needs to be more patient!!
Worse fast-food place I've ever been to. This location is always slow and the few time I've been there they have either gotten the order wrong or flat out not given me all my food. Never go there if you have a choice
I am a late night worker. As I get off work, I am often hungry and looking for somewhere to get food. McDonald's seems like the perfect place. Except every time I go there, I get (Most likely) no response, or a tired voice informing me that they only accept cash. 7/7 times now I have rolled through the drive through buying nothing. This is a horrible "24/7" establishment. I will never attempt to eat here again, and neither should you.

Shame on you McDonalds! Went to McDonalds in Gilroy, CA and waited at the register for 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged. A rude worker came by and said, "What are you doing we don't take orders when we're busy, you need to input your order on the kiosk!" Highly upset, I told him I'd prefer he take my order because I had special request for each of my kids burgers. He then reiterated to me that they are just too busy and that so many people were waiting before me. What made me really angry was that he just stared me down and then walked away leaving me and my kids hanging. My kids, myself and 4 other people walked out because of this ordeal. I sure hope they share my experience with everyone they know and post it on all of their social media websites. That behavior doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating!
There new automated ordering system is not very user friendly and the staff seems to be just as familiar with it as I was, (zero) knowledge. Customers still need to go to the counter to pay and confirm the order. WHERE IS THE TIME SAVED OR THE CONVENIENCE???
I ordered 2 plain cheeseburgers and a medium fry the fries were good but the PLAIN cheeseburgers except they were not plain this usually happens all the time only 3-4 time i ordered the cheeseburgers plain they came plan this year the rest were not which was about 10-15 times this year i was not by it the first couple time or the last but today i felt like thus McDonalds is awful and do not recommend0️⃣

On 4/29/18,I stopped at mc donalds on hwy 152 heading home from gilroy,was going to buy a coffee and use the restroom.when I went into the men's room,I was immediately hit with a strong urine stench,and after looking around while waiting for the facility to clear found that the floor was covered in urine and there was toilet seat covers all over the floor. I ordered my coffee,and informed the clerk on the counter about the mess was greeted with a who cares attitude.A restaurant I will never stop at again. Mc Donalds Corp and the local health department should check out the cleanliness of this restaraunt.
All the locations say open 24 hours but they all close at 12. And it’s advertised everywhere that they are open 24 hours. It’s just false advertising.
Bad Customer Service is the theme of this specic Macdonalds, I don't think they know what good customer service looks like. I had problems at the kiosk, I pushed the assistance call button, no one came. The manager and assistant both saw the light on, but ignored it. After several minutes, I left. More people behind the counter than customers, and I have to fend for myself.
This place is always packed. The drive thru is always clogged with cars. In the mornings they don't have enough people to run the restaurant so you could be wailing for 10-15 minutes before you get acknowledged in the drive thru or inside, no joke.
Disgusting! Ordered the new Grand Big Mac and it was just a regular Big Mac with bigger bread. Patties were not like in the picture and undercooked. Service was super slow and just because I don't speak spanish I was treated like I was an annoyance. Never eating here again!
Long wait to order food. Peoplo walking out because of wait time to order. Probably one of the slowest McDonald's I've ever been to. The staff talk like they're in high school. Half of the time they don't want to take your order and tell you to use the kios. Fries came a few times under cooked, Mcflurry never filled up, and they close the drive through early. Drive to 10st or to the outlets you'll save time even if it means driving across the town. Don't ever us the App for curbside pick up they'll forget about you and have you sitting in your car for 30 minutes. Update Now if you ask for ketchup they give it one packet for a whole meal. They updated the dinner area and removed the fountain drinks so you need to find a employee that will refill your drink that alone is a whole other issue. Always missing items. If this McDonald's wasn't next to my house I would never come here.
Yesterday I ordered 11 gift cards for $10 each total of $110 and the crew messed up and charged me twice. He went to the manager for help couple of times and was telling him what to do and did not even look what the problem was. So u can imagine how I hold the line bcz of this? Since the crew didn’t know what to do he accidentally cancelled my transaction and told me to swipe my card again, and right there in front of him I checked my bank acct and was charged twice.... He said it will be credited after few hours but until now I didnt see any credits and have to go back there and ask. 😡👎🏻The manager doesnt seem to care and she doesnt look happy to help her crews. So sad. Bad attitude, sooo rude. I want to tell her “why dont u stay for awhile to teach him what to do... “ bt i dont want the crew to be in trouble so i keep my mouth 🤐
the guy in the first window pretty much insulted us about our order saying “did we order a bazillion hashbrowns?” we ordered three. then we asked to add something to our order and he started speaking in a Russian accent, where we could barely understand him, also slightly offensive if i might add. definitely would not recommend this place customer service is trash. it’s too early to be dealing with this nonsense.
Location is DIRTY. Manager hates his life and ALWAYS MESSING UP ORDERS. I went only because my children got a gift card. Just called to complain how they forgoy apple slices in both Happy Meals and they left me on hold for over 10 minutes and now the phone is off the hook. I work for customer service as well!!! The service at this McDonald's us horrible. Employees see you standing in the front counter and do not even bother to greet you. I was waiting patiently to pick up my doordash order which it was ready and noone spoke to me until I peacefully said something
What a joke. Did an order at the counter because we chose not to use the self serve kiosk. Took 4 people to do a simple order of their special $5 dollar deal. The manager has to complete the order. The initial girl helping had attitude. These people make $20 an hour?? Not knocking the pay rate for those people that deserve it and work with a friendly demeanor.

Again. It's always something with this location. Bad attitude and poor service. I finally have to say something. This morning clearly stated I wanted sausage McMuffin no cheese with a hash brown. When I get my order no hash brown. I asked about it with the manager and told me since she didn't hear me say hash brown I would have to pay full price. WTH. Nope. They always talk down to it's customers and I'm done with this location. It's just the same as usual. At least they got the McMuffin correct. This time.
I DoorDashed and ordered two sausage egg McMuffins and they showed up without the egg. It really annoyed me how incompetent they were so I decided to drive over there and tell them and get the correct order. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant but the orders were coming out SLOWLY! Two people cut in line in front of me and the cashier, a big guy who I assumed to be the manager, said nothing to them. A third person tried to and I had to stop them myself. Welcome to Gilroy I guess. After about 15 minutes I finally made it to the counter and told a girl who walked up what happened. I showed her the receipt and told her they forgot the egg. Within a minute she brought me the correct items and said sorry. I pointed out that it says “egg” right on the receipt and asked her how could they possibly make a mistake like this with it being so obvious it needed the egg. I also explained how it was really inconvenient to have to drive over to correct the order after I paid a dasher fee. She said nothing so I looked over at the manager and he looked like he was pissed off I questioned them and just said they’re busy. Nice Answer! These people are incompetent, don’t make it up to customers when they screw up, which is often, and worst of all are rude. I’m mainly speaking of the big manager guy up front. He should be fired. It’s his responsibility to make sure the ladies in the back who’re making the food do it right and when they don’t, make sure the customers are happy when they leave. If not him, someone should. The place was very poorly run. Never again. That’s for sure!

It doesn't matter if you order in store, drive thru, in their app or online through delivery apps, they always end up messing up your order from the smallest thing to big ones like your food missing our really under cooked or them just giving you whatever drinks they feel like giving you that day. Idk they just really need to pay attention to their orders & and quality of their food. Sadly doordash can't change the location for my orders.

One of the worst places I have been. People are not friendly if you can even get their attention. They do not want to take your order, they removed the menu signs and you have to use the kiosk. You can't even get a napkin without yelling to have someone come to the counter and hand you one.
Always long lines with employees that don't seem to care. No sense of urgency from anyone behind the counter. Waited 30 minutes to get a to go order. Got in the car and found they got the order wrong. I will never return to this location. The whole time we waited the lobby was full of customers complaining about the wait. People waited 15 minutes for a cup of coffee.
Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese is my favorite item, so whenever I order something from MacDownlads, I always make sure to add this item to my cart. Today, I placed my order at the "797 FIRST ST GILROY, CA 95020" store. However, I was completely disappointed this time. It seems they accidentally put the wrong burger patty in my order. Moreover, my entire order was disgusting. Both burger patties were excessively salty and burnt, and they had a completely different taste. I have never experienced this kind of issue before. Both my wife and I ended up with upset stomachs after eating it. I wanted to share my experience here to bring attention to it.
TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!! This place is ran by a bunch of uneducated individuals who have no idea what they are doing. No one can speak any English , even thought we are in U.S. Not even the manager can speak any English. VERY SAD AND CONCERNING. McDonald's do BETTER. Don't go here.

I have gone here over 5 times and they have the same issue every single time. I ask (and pay) for extra fudge on the sundae and they drizzle the lining of the cup to make it look like there’s a lot of fudge. Then I get home to find out there’s hardly any inside. I’ve learned to ask them to pour in extra while I’m still there and they have an attitude about it. Tried to go to another McDonald’s today but their machine was down so I had to come here and of course, without fail, NO EXTRA FUDGE. It’s almost like there’s less fudge than when I’ve asked for just a regular sundae. It is so annoying. And we’re paying for it!
Terrible management. They weren’t even busy but still sending every customer to the parking lot to wait for their food to the point where there was no more space to park, which may have been the reason they “forgot” my food when I was waiting outside for half an hour. I’ve never written a review in my life but this McDonalds has brought me nothing but wait times and bad food.
They seem to ALWAYS get the order incorrect. Missing items, having to go back inside or drive back to get the items. When items are customized, have to check and make sure they added the extra pickles or took out the onions & mustard, etc., when special orders are made. They cannot seem to even give the correct amount of sauces, even though it is clearly right on the screen, and matches the receipt that is like a sticker on the side of the bag. The environment is not really customer service oriented like it needs to be. Bad service, but only saving grace is the convenience of being so close by and making the grand kids happy.
Do you see a chocolate shake in this picture? To me it clearly looks like a strawberry shake. I always order a chocolate shake. But it seems that chocolate sounds like strawberry to them. And the shake I received was also a strawberry shake. It was written as a strawberry shake on the receipt, but when I told the staff "I ordered a chocolate shake, not a strawberry shake," they just said "Yes, that's a chocolate shake" and didn't take me seriously. We argued for about a minute, saying "This is strawberry, not chocolate," and "No, that's chocolate, not strawberry," but I gave up. I will never use this store again.
I ordered and paid for extra sides for my breakfast meal but never got it. Called the store to inform them, spoke to someone whose English I barely understood, who told me she would check but never bothered to wait for me to provide more info on the order, then rudely hung up on me. It wasn't the first time this happened, which compelled me to write this negative review.
