Came here bc they're open 24/7, but I'll definitely be backk 🤤 I don't usually get cinnamon buns at donut places BUT I happened to see a tray of freshly glazed cinnamon buns in the kitchen that looked insanely appetizing. This was especially impressive bc I got there at 12:05 am It was a bit pricey at $4.25, but I'm so glad I trusted my gut--these are the BEST cinnamon buns I've ever had. They were a tad oily, but I LOVED the crunch on the outside and the soft, fluffy bread 😍 they also weren't too sweet, which was perfect!! They were also still warm when I got them 😮‍💨 If you ever happen to crave donuts late at night, I totally recommend this place!

We originally planned to go to Krispy Kreme for National Donut Day but ended up stopping by Donut Star in Irvine and we were so glad we did. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised with this quick little stop after dinner. Even late at night, they had way more options than we expected, especially since it was Donut Day. We were hoping they wouldn't be sold out of everything, and thankfully they still had a great selection. We picked up some donut holes, both sugar and cinnamon sugar, and they were perfectly fluffy and warm with way more cinnamon sugar than usual which made them even better. My wife went for her favorites, the classic glazed and a custard filled one since she is obsessed with custard. Let’s just say those were gone before we even made it home. I grabbed a few of my usuals including the classic sprinkle, cinnamon sugar, and strawberry. Every one of them hit the spot and of course I had to pair them with a cold chocolate milk. The staff was very sweet and patient while we took our time deciding what to get. Highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area or just in the mood for some solid donuts late at night.

What a fabulous experience and delicious donuts!! Tim the owner is an amazing person to work with. He did such a excellent job making sure we got what we wanted with our special order. We got the happy bday done on our donuts along with a name and it turned out amazing. The donuts are fresh not to sweet or sugary just right! The maple is the best tasting maple. Thx Tim n crew!

This has been our go-to donut place for decades! Our kids are 13 & 17 and I remember ever since they were little we bike here for a little treat. The donuts are fresh- no old oil flavor. Just true good donuts! We love Donut Star! We also buy 20-30 dozens for our swim team concessions each summer - they are gone within 1 hour! The best apple fritter and old fashioned glaze!

Everything you can want in a donut! Coming from a donutholic, these donuts were amazing! Really delicious doughnuts served up in a classy but modern small coffee bar style environment in the heart of Irvine. The texture was soft and chewy, and there was a good amount of filling in the center, which is extremely important! The Fruity Pebbles doughnut was really delicious but the maple glazed old fashioned was great if a little bit too sweet for my tastes. Reasonably priced doughnuts in a counter serve joint with friendly staff. My sweet tooth is going to be back for old fashion donuts not cake donuts.

Best donuts in the area by a long shot! This place is my favorite Saturday morning stop for not only a delicious donut but also their breakfast sandwiches and large selection of boba (and other) drinks! It’s pretty cheap too which is always a plus. I would strongly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area

I hate giving out my secrets, but Donut Star always makes a fresh batch at around 1 a.m. every day (by the same guy for the past 10+ years.) They even got those spicy jalapeno croissants they sell at Seaside, minus the drunk people and the long wait. Plus, it's one of the very few spots that is open 24hrs which is rare in Irvine. Shout out to my dude working the late-night shift; always delivering the goods! 🙏🍩☕

Nothing better than eat something sweet after a soccer game. We are visiting Irvine for a national soccer tournament and we really enjoyed try new places to eat and in this occasion was the turn of Donut Star. They have a lot of options not just in donuts but in drinks, bagels, paninis and croissants. There is enough space inside to eat in and a lot outside along of the plaza. I don't want to let pass that my husband ate a banana nut muffin and he gives it 5 of 5 stars.

There are no Gluten Free food options that I could find so I had tea. They had lots of flavors of quality hot tea. I enjoyed the Moroccan mint teA in a tall cup. My husband thought the maple bar and custard donut were tasty and fresh. The bagel sandwich was hot and good and there are Free coffee refills. There were only 2 people ahead of us on line. We sat outside. It's a strip mall by a parking lot, so convenience is the priority here,not the ambiance. Very Suburban vibes. Prices seemed fair and there were a variety of donuts and bagel sandwiches offered.

My review is strictly based on the donut hole only. Their price is reasonable. That’s a plus! The donut is okay for me. The texture is not crispy. The inside is soft and has moisture. If you like light donuts, you might like it.

This evening we were craving some donuts w my kids. Going through the Retail Therapy app that has great deals for restaurants and food places , we ran into Donut Star that was offering $2 off on dozen donuts and opened late . We went there ordered 12 regular donuts (not premium). When I tried using my (2off) discount as shown in the app. the lady “Sam” said that she would then have to charge me for individual donut price to get the discount. What got me upset was that their dozen donut price is about $20.95 or something close to that. She was ringing ea donut individually giving a total of 23.90something , giving me a $2 off discount to $21 and some change. How does that make sense? That’s not a discount! What lie if that’s the case! This were not premium donuts and you agreed upon $2off from dozen donuts price which should total to $18 and some change. Listen, is not about the money! Is about the morale! A lot People use this app for deals on food , hair salon, nails expecting it to be honored as showing in the app. If this is not something you will be doing please do the right thing on taking this off or talking to your employees about the discounts you have online. The lady Sam was explaining that is how you guys charge and I know is not bc my sister had bought from u before and u guys have honored the discount. Not sure what happened but is fare to let the Retail Therapy know of the experience as you should not have anything no their site if you will not apply it accordingly. Very bad taste, most places have honored their discounts. This helps promote business and keep people coming back . This was a bad business experience.
