If you're hungry, this is the place to eat! Great breakfast and the best fresh squeeze orange juice I've had. The service is quick yet very friendly. A huge shout out to Cathy (With a C) that greeted us, making sure our food was the way we wanted it. She even made my own thick cut Texas toast. If your in the area or driving through. Make an effort to stop in, order some food to go in their drive through or sit down to eat !

Shut up there to eat off the fly. Brought the kids and the mother. Play some nice atmosphere was good. Had electric train assembly running across the top. The food was good man you was good staff was good. Very helpful

Hubs and I stopped here for lunch. Both of us had the Junior Burger and a bowl of soup. The burgers were great - very flavorful and just the right size if you're not too hungry. Hubs thought his split pea soup was good. My vegetable soup was awful. Tasted like green bell peppers and tomatoes. Very acidic. I ate less than half. My stomach was miserable the rest of the afternoon- thank goodness for antacids.

Great food, service not so good. Had to ask the waitress several times for different items of the food we ordered because it didn't come on the plate/good like it should hv and we didn't even get out OJs that we paid for.

This quaint diner was the best train experience I've had in decades. A must visit for the train. The food was just average the service was warm, polite and efficient. Just as for the train to run.

I tried this place after a early morning shopping trip near by and wanted breakfast. I tried the fried chicken sandwich, wich was delicious (2 breaded and fried breast chicken tenders on a cibatta bun). I also had the 1/2 order of the biscuit and gravy wich were tasty and satisfied that craving i was looking for.

When I eat here I feel like I’m eating at my grandparents house as a kid. Awesome, tasty meals with large portions. As you might have seen in other review photos, there are collectible trains EVERYWHERE. Golden Ox seems like something between a regular sit down restaurant and a lunch diner. The outside design of the business doesn’t scream HEY STOP HERE, but it should. Since this is on Highway 12 (Kettleman) it’s a perfect stop if you’re traveling Highway 12 through Lodi. It’s family owned and a long time staple of the city. I will always say yes if someone wants to eat here. Don’t forget to ask the counter employees to activate the special model train that goes around the whole restaurant. 🚂

First time here yesterday, had a decent sized portion breakfast and a great service experience here. Everyone working the shift on Sunday were great. I wanna say even the owner/manager walked out in the dinning area to ask how everyone and their meal/service was. Now that’s hospitality. The food was good, pretty neat to view all of the antique model trains there and one of the going around the track above head while you are seated. They have a nice sized menu to choose from. Even for being a location that has been around for many of years, the location was clean EVEN the restroom. I know we will go back. It seemed like a well frequented location.

As soon as you enter, have 1 person sit down at a table to reserve it. Then proceed to the counter to order your food. The service is fast, the only thing I don't like is the fact that you habe to carry your Coffee to the table in a cup I accidentally burnt myself doing so. The food is a good amount to keep you content and not over bloated like other places. I had the waffles,sausage and eggs. The waffles were crispy and fluffy. The coffee is just right, not bitter or burnt at all. The pancakes were great, fluffy and buttery. The sausage is good too. The atmosphere is nice, trains, and military things. Small joint, so have someone sit right away at an open table. Will definitely come back here again. This is those place where you want to come in eta and go. Fast paced place. Really nice people.

So happy that I gave this place a try! I love the model trains and airplane decorations! The food was delicious! The staff was very pleasant as well. I highly recommend that if you want a relaxed environment with fresh, well prepared food, come here!

I usually get excited about the chicken but my last visit was disappointing. The chicken was warm. It didn't taste like it was under a heat lamp. Perhaps it was 30 minutes before closing and they rushed it but no Bueno. I will definitely return in the future.

First visit, Perfect Location, amble parking space . Quick and responsive staff, I went in really early , there were regulars that early which shows it’s popular around the area. The omelette was a bit too cooked and dry . The country potato was kind of blunt , the biscuits and gravy was ok, biscuit seems to be mass market ones. Hot chocolate was too sweet and watery. I will go again to try new items as this is my new neighborhood. Support local business

The customer service is bad and they dont know how to get your order right most of the time, they either forget/miss something or they dont like what you asked for and do it anyways. If i want something without an ingredient or plain its probably because Im allergic but they take it as a insult and put it there anyway. Nice place inside, not so nice people
