IHOP Los Angeles Reviews
Great place for seafood! Everything was so fresh and the portions are large. I shared a plate with my mom and we still had to take some to go. The Mardi Gras cheesecake was delish! My son and my mom loved it. The seafood gumbo cup was just the right size and very tasty and spicy. I will definitely be coming back here, although I'll avoid the lunch rush. It gets pretty busy but once our server, Joni caught up, service was exceptional. I will be coming with my husband next time for date night.
Great service. One of my friends has a food allergy and told the server about it. The restaurant mgr stopped by to discuss options to prepare the food and to make sure my friend is comfortable with how the food was going to be prepared. She was very thorough and we really appreciated the follow up.
I had an absolute blast with my brother from another mother, Craig, my nephew, Cody, and my future sister-in-law, Lisa. The night before, we had planned on going to Pappasitos but we ended going to my old stomping grounds, Pappas Seafood which is still located across I-45 from my old office. Pappas hadn't lost its touch for outstanding customer satisfaction and our server, Jonae, was amazing, sensing that I was a bit famished and ready to order. A Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay was ordered immediately to relieve my parched throat along with a Pappas House Salad mixed greens with croutons, baby tomatoes, red onion, Applewood bacon, aged cheddar with blue cheese dressing. For my main course, the Ginger Salmon sounded most inviting, grilled salmon fillet, ginger butter & roasted Shallot roasted Shallot Green Beans. Cody ordered the Seafood Cobb Shrimp salad that had two halves of a avocado which he was about to discard so I rescued the avocado that paired better than those mundane green beans. I'm not going to wait another 20 years to revisit Pappas Seafood, see y'all soon!
I can’t say how much I was impressed eating here. The service was amazing. The servers greet you with smiles and came by every few minutes to see if we needed anything. They explained the menu, since it being the first time we visited. The server also offered suggestions that were spot on. The food was first class seafood. I was surprised that they have lunch specials daily, even on the weekends, making the meal affordable. I’m sad they do not have locations in the Dallas area so I can enjoy it back home. However, we will definitely be stopping here again when we are in Houston.
Food was phenomenal, service just as good. A little pricey but TOTALLY worth it. I had the Alexander which was grilled salmon topped with scallops and shrimp and a sauce that was out of this world served with some of the best green beans I've ever had. My husband had a swordfish talked with lump crab meat (Also FANTASTIC). The portions on our plates were huge neither of us finished our meal. We also shared a crab cake; SO GOOD. He enjoyed the raw oysters and I ate the whole bowl (appetizer) of shrimp and crawfish fondue by myself 😁 Brooklyn was our waitress and she was very knowledgeable about the drinks and menu entrees and made excellent recommendations before taking care of us throughout our meal. Thank you all for and enjoyable experience!
Great food. Neil was a great waiter. Will definitely go back.
We visited for an early light dinner. We had the shrimp and crawfish fondue, Greek salad for two, and shrimp Gumbo. All the food was wonderful. The service was great; attentive without being annoying. Pappas restaurants are always good. Can't go wrong.
Today the experience with Ms. Nani was above and beyond. From the atmosphere, the selection and service was a trip well deserved. My family and enjoyed everything that the restaurant has to offer. I must return to this establishment again and recommended to my friends.
We love this place. Always great food. Friendly people. Never too crowded.
Griffin was awesome. She was on top of her menu knowledge and what she was unsure of she went to the kitchen to get a definitive answer. That's the sign of a great server. She made our night out go from great to outstanding. Thank you!
It's been awhile. Today drove by saw billboard fried shrimp $ 16.95. my 95 yr old mom just had a b- day. & Myself. Parked Monday 8/11/2025 @ 11:00am. Recognize Roosevelt our last waiter it's been awhile. We loved it. Service with Roosevelt was spot on. Memorable trip @ Pappas We will be back.
Enjoyed a pleasant peaceful lunch amidst the busy I-45 north and beltway interchange. Kesha, our server, took great care of my group from ordering drinks and making sure our food was correct. The food was fabulous. I enjoyed eating the special of the day, halibut with lump crab and carrots sprinkled with pistachios. One person had the crawfish etouffee with blackened catfish and another person had the Atlantic Salmon. The atmosphere is still a little New Orleans vibe meets yacht club. There's wide spacing between tables and booths available.
Went to this location twice and both times the service was great and food fresh. Would definitely recommend this location for seafood!
While on vacation visiting Houston, we wanted some seafood but didn't want anything fried. When searching online for restaurants, we chose Pappas Seafood House, and I'm so glad we did. I made a reservation online, so we were seated immediately when we arrived. The server was nice and accommodating when we asked to be moved from our original table due to it being cold because there was an air vent blowing directly over us. The food came out quickly, and the portion was huge. My husband and I both ordered the Rainbow trout, with shrimp & crabmeat and a lemon butter sauce. I had green beans while he had sautéed spinach. The food was so delicious as it was cooked just right, seasoned well and nice and hot (temperature wise). The portions were huge. A basket of bread with butter was served before the meal, which was good as well. I highly recommend Pappas Seafood House! Wish I could have given them more stars because the price was affordable and the food was so delicious.
Great lunch service. I had a lunch special, the gumbo cup and shrimp po-boy. I expected a small po-boy but it was almost a full sandwich. I recommend it@
Ended up eating at Papa's twice in about a month, since we were driving through. Best Seafood place. Leticia was my server both times. She is awesome, she even remembered me and my drink the second time. Food was amazing and the portions sizes are huge it is a tat pricey but worth every cent. The bread is lovely and the whipped butter what is served with it just makes it delicious! Everyone is super friendly just really enjoy dining at this location.
Great service from Nicholas L., who made wonderful recommendations around our food as well as a place that we could go out after dining! We tried both oysters on offer, seafood gumbo, crab cakes, and the appetiser trio. For two people this was more than enough to share and offered very tasty variety. Highly recommend!
“This is our go-to seafood spot! We love the atmosphere and the service is always great. I usually get the grouper with buttered potatoes, and my husband goes for the chicken strips since he’s not big on seafood. Both dishes are delicious!”
November 2024 Pappas restaurants never disappoint. We were so excited to stop by Pappas Seafood House on our way to Houston. Furthermore, we enjoyed the daily lunch menu. I always craved for the crawfish étouffée. The fresh bread was serve warm and crispy. Shrimp cocktail is a fresh and delicious. Chicken tender is perfect dipping in homemade honey mustard. Pappas does a great job upholding their reputation and setting a gold standard for restaurants. Even though the hostess was going through the motions but our server James was attentive. Highly recommend Pappas and will definitely return if we are in HTown.
I always have a great experience at this location and my visit there today was no different. The staff were very nice and cordial and informative about the menu. I decided to get the seafood Cobb salad and was not disappointed! It was absolutely amazing, and I definitely will be back soon.
We had not been to a Pappas seafood restaurant in many years. I had one drink and then my husband and I shared the grilled oysters which were very good. We then shared the salmon and scallop. And I do mean scallop. There was ONE, about the size of a quarter. When I asked the waiter, he said that was correct. Not happy, for the price. For one drink (for me), and a shared appetizer and entree, tax and tip the bill was close to $100. Eating out prices keeps getting worse.
Today is my me and my wife 7th year wedding anniversary. Our waitress was very nice super helpful. One of the management staff even came to our table to wish us happy anniversary, which in my eye was very nice. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. And for the manager to give us a key lime pie was very sweet. My wife and I will definitely be back....
My family was out for the whole day and decided to stop at this location. This place is amazing & I loved everything from the waiter and the food! If you really just want to enjoy yourself or have a romantic occasion, this is the spot for you.
The food and price were good. Food came out fast. I enjoyed the crawfish very much, better than I expected. The server kept forgetting to bring bread and water. It was very loud inside. I had a wonderful time.
We had to wait until most of the party was there prior to being seated but once were, Pappas was enjoyable. Our waiter was very attentive and recommended great options. He was timely and thorough. The food was absolutely delicious.
Great food with friendly service. Prices seem to have gone up according to some family members..Didn’t stop us, the complimentary bread was extremely fresh! Very delicious & filling.
We brought our clients to Papa’s Seafood House in Houston for a 50th birthday celebration, and the entire experience was excellent. The staff was friendly and professional, the fresh Gulf Coast seafood was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for a special occasion. As a Houston limo service, we love recommending restaurants that deliver great hospitality and consistency, and Papa’s Seafood House continues to be one of the best seafood restaurants in Houston for celebrations, group dining, and family events. Thank you to the team for helping make our clients’ 50th birthday unforgettable. — Business Limo Houston
Victoria was our waitress. She was very kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. I had a cup of shrimp gumbo as an appetizer, the trout and shrimp with crab and sweet carrots. Then we had the three layered chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert! Yummy!
I had such an amazing experience at Pappas! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, but what really made my visit stand out was the service. Braevion was absolutely outstanding professional, friendly, and very attentive the entire time. He made sure everything was just right and went above and beyond to make the experience memorable.
Had to be in Houston for a business trip and was recommended Papas Seafood House for dinner—and it exceeded all expectations! This is easily the best seafood I’ve had outside of Louisiana. I tried the Papas Deluxe Platter—plenty of food, and everything was fantastic. I’ll definitely go back if I’m ever in the area again.
Food was great! It was well seasoned and a good portion. Service was okay. Nothing stood out about it. Location was nice and we were seated right away. Our waiter did leave mid shift without saying anything and the new waiter didn’t introduce himself, but that seemed to be just a minor issue. Other than that, no problems. Would definitely recommend.
On a visit to Texas to see my sister we went to papas. We had many more dishes however I only photographed these two. We also had the Brie and jumbo lump crab spinach dip. I suggest that you make reservations, the place is a nice size but they are very busy at dinner time. There is also a bar area which actually didn’t seem as busy as the dining room.
Unassuming deliciousness. A very quaint atmosphere with stellar service. Chris was top notch. Price was excellent based upon quality AND quantity. The fresh baked bread is a cut above. I had the trout, shrimp, and crab. The shrimp gumbo cup had no fewer than 5 full size juicy shrimp. Perfect spice. You will not go wrong here. Make sure to get a Karbach Crawford Bock. Ask for Chris and you will feel like you are being served at an exclusive club.
Nice romantic 🥰 and cozy atmosphere at the same time, our waitor Rob 🤩was delightful. Very professional, giving us all the information we requested about dishes we had interested in. Down to earth to tell us just how good 😊 each one was in his opinion. Food was delish and I’m a big fan of seafood. 🦞 🍤. We absolutely 💯 had an awesome visit and will definitely come back again. 10/10 👍🏾 I ordered the Mississippi Catfish Opelousas, my husband ordered the Mississippi Catfish and Shrimp Ettouffee, desserts were Strawberry Cheesecake we shared there ,Sweet potatoe pecan pie was out to go . Meal was awesome
Very nice atmosphere and cute cozy booth. Had lunch with my partner's parents after a week in town from Virginia. There was a raw Oyster special and we had two dozen between the four of us. Service was good. Our server may have been a bit new, she had to come back to the table a few too many times. We were worried about the time and getting to the airport. I mentioned shellfish allergy and they were very attentive to make sure my dish was prepared safely. I loved the mozzarella cubes. I had the seafood Cobb salad with the shrimp substituted for sea scallops. It was huge, full of big fresh toppings and their house lemon vinaigrette. Everyone was very happy with their meal and we were on our way in a timely manor. Thank you so much! The locals raved about the Pappas local chain and it did not disappoint. I'm looking forward to your burgers and steakhouse on the next visit.
Passing by and saw the parking lot bussing at the seams. I see why. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was beautiful. The manager made us feel like we were the only people there. He came to verify if my shrimp allergy was from consumption or touching. I really appreciated that. Thank you for the beautiful experience.
It was ok. It could have been better. Our waiter Andres never came to check on us after we got our food. And then he forgot our baked potatoes when he bought our food so we had to wait a few minutes and that's when someone else bought us our baked potato because he thought they were for his customers when they weren't. Asked Andres for a steak knife, he said they were all dirty????? Like WTH. SO HERE'S A PICTURE OF MY PLATE WITHOUT BAKED POTATO
Every dish that came to our table looked fantastic. Sadly, I could only eat one of the dishes...portion sizes are Texas sized. And it would be rude to eat my friends food. Excellent seafood menu. Try it!
Went for a business lunch. It was pretty busy, but a booth was available by the bar. I got a shrimp poboy from the lunch menu. It was pretty good. It was huge! I wound up taking half with me. Overall, it was a really nice place. One if the others with me got the Mahi and said it was excellent as well. Will be back!
My Sister-in-law and my Brother came to see me, they were here for a Church conference. I was surprised, my niece was also with them. They wanted seafood 🦞 So I looked up a near by restaurant, there was two and my sister-in-law chose Pappas Seafood House. Off we went, it was not far and parking was quick but it was packed, wall to wall the hostess said “30 minutes”, we waited our table was ready in 15 minutes. I was being treated, so they did ask my opinion on the appetizer and we ordered the spinach and cheese dip w/ garlic loaf toast. It was good, my brother didn’t like it, we girls did. Everyone ordered a seafood platter of some sort and they ordered gumbo but didn’t like it. The platters were filling and very good. My niece also got some fruit, pineapple 🍍 🍒 and 🍨 ice cream for dessert my sister-in-law had a special drink 🍹 I had ☕️ tea, soda 🥤 for the rest, and water 💧 but we had a really great time. It took the food a while to come but it was worth it.
It’s been almost a year since I’ve been back and of course, food is still great! One of my favorite places for a lobster feast. Just can’t get enough. Whenever I’m in need of a good seafood feast, this hits the spot! Literally ordered everything! 3.5 lb lobster - had these steamed. it’s supposed to come with 2 sides (salad & baked potato) but our waitress forgot them until the very end of our meal.. and we never got the ranch for our dressing until I had asked for a box to go... hmm. however, lobster was really tasty. Cooked really well. The meat was really tender and extra juicy! Especially dipped in the melted butt! Crab cakes - these were not my favorite this time. It was overwhelmingly tart. But I like the fact that it was loaded with crab meats. Crawfish & shrimp fondue - how can you go wrong with seafood loaded with cheese?! you can’t! These were really tasty. Extra gooey and delish. However, I only ate the shrimp and whatever else. Skipped out on the crawfish bc it was off in color. Super dark! Didn’t know if it was fresh or not. Gulf oysters - these were good. Oysters looked really fresh and clean. They tasted fine to me but wasn’t juicy. Like there wasn’t any of it’s natural juices. Kind of a dried oyster. Haha I don’t know if that made sense.. yeah but it was not moist. Food is still good and I’ll always come back. Service this time can improve but overall a great lunch! Overly stuffed and can’t breathe. Nap time! haha
The food was great, and so was the service. I had the grouper with shrimp and lump crab. It was delicious. They have a large menu, and I am looking forward to going again and trying another dish. I gave three stars for the atmosphere because it is extremely loud in the restaurant and you can hardly hear the people sitting right next to you.
Waitress was Melissa manager was Francis service started out iffy and we waited 35 minutes for drinks and appetizers, but after we spoke to manager service completely 180 everything quick food was worth every minute of the wait will definitely be back
Nicely greeted by restaurant hosts Our server Will was on point Floor manager kindly checked on my food because of my pork allergy Scrumptious meal Nicely greeted again on the way out - that is always nice; doesn't happen at many restaurants started with Brie & Jumbo Lump Crab Spinach Dip; followed with Wild-caught Grouper & Jumbo Crab loved that very cold sweet iced tea
Tried this location for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. I ordered the fried crawfish along with the crawfish étouffée, and both dishes were decent. The fried crawfish had a nice crisp to it without being overdone, and the étouffée was tasty. I've never had étouffée before so I have nothing to compare it to. The service truly stood out. Our waiter, Jeffery, was exceptional from start to finish. He was knowledgeable about the menu, took the time to explain options, and checked in at just the right moments without being overbearing. His professionalism and friendly attitude really elevated the overall dining experience. They offer complimentary bread and butter at the table, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot for a laid-back lunch. Overall, everything was on point, and I would definitely return to try more items on the menu.
Timing is Everything I had the chance to try out this Pappa's location while in the Houston area. I was tasked to entertain a group of fellow foodies from Korea and they were looking to try some Cajun Style Seafood and fish. I had heard great things about Pappa's and this location was close to the airport, where we were all staying that night. Pappa's is an experience, and we were all impressed by the interior and the design as it has a very homey feel to it. We were seated and I helped my group choose some local craft beers. As I helped them with the menu as we were all catching up, we ordered some apps and a tray of assorted oysters. We got our apps which were calamari, crab cakes and a round of gumbos for my guests as it was their first gumbo. The apps were all prepared very well and the gumbos were delicious, everyone enjoyed them. We then ordered our mains most of my guests ordered fish, Red Fish, Branzino and Mahi as it was their first time trying these species of fish. We talked some more and nearly finished our apps and then out mains came out. We had just started to dig in when one of our guests noticed we didn't get our oysters. We waved our server over and we told them that we didn't get our oysters. Our server looked a little confused and left us for a few minutes when they came back to the table they said, they'll be right out. So we ate we talked and just we were starting to finish our mains, a food runner plopped the tray of oysters on the table and took off. Picture this, 4 people just experiencing their first cajun meal in America, and having a course missed and now having eaten on an extremely cluttered table. I mentioned we were on our mains, which as you can imagine are bigger plates. The oysters were big, juicy and fresh (I'm from the East Coast) so I know a thing or two about oysters, but there was little interest in them since the group was almost finished their meals. I tried 3 oysters but had no room for more. The group out of respect reluctantly had one or two just as not to waste them. So the moral of this review. Timing is everything, I know because it was drilled into me over my years as a server in fine dining in my younger years. The service should have gone like this 1. Oysters or apps first 2. Oysters or apps second 3. Pause 4. Mains served after the apps were cleared. What we got was apps served, oysters missed, and mains served while apps were still on the table. One of the key lessons I learned as a server, is that when you have a group, and they are not in any rush, fire the mains when the apps are roughly 3/4 done to give the diners a pause. You may be able to get another round of drinks in and that way they are not stuffed halfway through the main course. I observed that the restaurant and section weren't that busy. Now to my main course. I had the fried crawfish and crawfish etouffee on white rice. Now, this was a tasty meal, the crawfish were abundant and the coating on them was very flavourful. Even though they were fried the crawfish were surprisingly not greasy at all. The Etouffee was a hit as well, those juicy crawfish simmering in that tangy sauce were a joy to eat. We did order one dessert and shared it, and it was a hit as well as it was a warm chocolatey pecan cake of some kind and a nice finish to the meal. To conclude, we had no issues with the food and I will try Pappas again since I have to believe this situation was a one-off. The food here rocks but a star was lost due to improper timing of the foods' delivery.
So the server was super hard to hear which made the experience less than satisfying and refills were extremely slow. The Gumbo was outstanding, in the top 5 for sure that ive ever had at a restaurant. Wife got the cold dozen shrimp. I ordered the large shrimp platter. What I wasn't expecting was 8 medium fried shrimp for over $30 dollars!!!!! Nobody in their right mind would pay that knowing they are getting 8 shrimp with a giant pile of fries. Still having a hard time stomaching the bill over this one.
The quality of the food has gone slightly down and prices have increased. Been a customer for over 10 yrs. This place would always enter new items annually to the menu (appetizers and chef specialties). Since COVID, same old tired menu. Now, I go to Pappadeau's. They always add new items to their menu and quality is very good.
I gave my rating based off the encounter my party and I encountered. Trying to get our party member inside that was in a wheelchair. Not really, no ramp on the inside. You have to enter from a side entrance not really suitable for impared person. It was disappointing to know there wasn't a ramp or mechanical wheelchair lift. It was difficult to maneuver the wheel around tables. That should be updates done for better accessibility.
I got the fried crawfish and shrimp plate with French fries. Food was good. Way too expensive! I wanted a side salad, but it would be about $7 extra! We came here because we had gift cards to use up. Otherwise, I would not pay this price. Service was fair, we had to wait for our water to be refilled, the place was empty. We had a wonderful seat by a window that had a pretty blue and white canopy with beautiful flowers right outside, the sun wasn’t shining on us. That was the best part! We had gone to the veterans cemetery, so we were close by. I generally would not come to this location. There was an armed security guard outside, which made us feel safe.
On 8/9/25, I visited this location to grab a to go order. My family and I usually dine in at least once every 2 weeks but on Saturday, my daughter and I were working late so we decided to grab and go. The waiter (Hispanic Female) seemed to have a problem understanding my order. After repeating it to her several times, I thought she finally got it. I ordered the 3 piece crispy fried fish, substituted the fries for sautéed spinach and a baked potato which I knew I would have to pay extra for. Unfortunately, when my order was ready, there was no sautéed spinach. I questioned her and she wanted me to pay extra for the spinach. We had a brief disagreement, she went to speak with the manager on duty (Hallie) retuned to tell me what the manager said and I asked to speak with the manager directly. When Hallie appeared, she was vey combative as I attempted to explain what happened. Hallie eventually calmed emotions after I told her that I would prefer to have my money back and take my business somewhere else. Hallie offered that I keep the order, a refund and she would go and get “my little bit of spinach, Ms.Ma’am.” 👀 how absurd, the disrespect, I thought and who is she calling Ms. Ma’am? I am a 60+ senior citizen and I detest the way she spoke to me. I would appreciate if your establishment would train the managers to be mindful of professional management skills towards ALL customers, especially senior citizens, not to be rude, disrespectful, opinionated, bias and unethical as Hallie was towards me. Even though I received a refund, partially cooked spinach and an over cooked baked potato which I didn’t enjoy, the service, being called Ms. Ma’am and the comment about the little bit of spinach, was worse.
Manager on duty (Oak? Short with dark with bowl haircut) was the only negative. Food and service were excellent. The manager loudly reprimanded our waitress within a few feet from us as apparently a table walked out on the tab without paying. He told her she would be shorted the entire amount. The manager needs to be reprimanded for publicly shaming her. We had the same waitress and she was very attentive and service was great. Not challenging the policy but it seems extreme to dock her pay for what was probably well over $100.00. What we saw is that she was working extremely hard, having to sweep, fill salt shakers, etc., while still waiting on tables. Also, what is a waiter or waitress supposed to do if they see someone leaving without paying? Chase them down? That would be a safety issue. Later, the hostess was walking a few feet behind the manager and he turned and told her, "Don't walk so close to me!" Again, loud enough for my wife and I to hear him from at least 50 feet away. He didn't appear to be joking with her. It was a weird encounter to witness. After that, I saw the manager carrying a plastic disposable water bottle he found at a table. He carried it to our general area and showed it to the hostess and told her not to let customers in with these. He told her that if she had any trouble with the customers, to come get him and he would make sure they didn't. Really? During our one hour plus at the restaurant, during what appeared to be a relatively slow night, the same manager never acknowledged our presence, asked how the food or service was. He just seemed to be intent on constantly harassing his employees. Not sure of the management training program that Pappas provides, but either this manager missed it, or the basic 101 level of employee and customer satisfaction isn't important to him. From a short distance, he seemed to be a real jerk.
Felt sick and had stomach issues as soon as I took a few bites. I ordered stuff shrimp and sides to go. I threw the rest of the food away. I’ve had Pappas at other locations and never had this reaction.
This location was disappointing. They had menu items pictured that weren’t even available .. the manager admitted they don’t carry the same ingredients and said the photos should’ve been removed. Service was slow, the layout was odd, and it wasn’t very clean. They even poured my second glass of wine into the same glass, which isn’t proper etiquette. I’ll stick to the other Pappas Seafood location.
I’ve always loved going to Pappas and have enjoyed both the food and atmosphere for a long time. However, last Wednesday I witnessed something very upsetting one of the waiters appeared to hit a woman. I’m not sure what their relationship was, but it was extremely disturbing to see. Because of that incident, I decided to take my business elsewhere. It’s very disappointing to experience something like that at a place I’ve always appreciated and supported.
Dear Pappas Seafood Management, I wanted to take a moment to share feedback regarding my husband’s and my recent visit to your restaurant on October 11th around 6:00 p.m. This letter is intended as an opportunity for improvement, as we have always enjoyed dining at your Humble location and expected a similar level of service and quality. Unfortunately, our experience at this location fell short in several ways. We were initially assigned one server who was later replaced by another, and we regret to say the service we received was disappointing and concerning. The server appeared to be under the influence of something—moving slowly, slurring words, and frequently forgetting our requests. She also responded with a snarky attitude at times, which made the experience uncomfortable. We ordered waters and bar drinks (a beer and a Blood Orange Mule), along with two Rainbow Trout dinners. Bread, which is usually served promptly, had to be requested. When I asked for a straw, the server left and did not return with one. Our meals were brought out by a different server, and when I requested mignonette, she seemed unfamiliar with it despite my explanation that it is typically available at your oyster bar. She never returned with it. At that point, we still had not received our bar drinks or straws. When our original server finally returned, she again seemed confused, looked down at her apron, and walked away. She eventually returned with a straw but informed me that they “didn’t have mignonette.” My Blood Orange Mule also arrived with black specks in it and without the signature dried blood orange garnish I’m accustomed to receiving at other Pappas locations. When I inquired, the server said she would check but never came back. I ultimately had to go to the bar myself, where another staff member later brought the garnish—after my drink was nearly finished. This visit was meant to be a special date night for us, and the entire experience—though we tried to remain patient—fell short of the standards we’ve come to expect from Pappas Restaurants. We only chose this location because of traffic delays near Humble, but unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed and frustrated. We wanted to share this feedback so that management can be aware and address the issues with training, service quality, and staff attentiveness at this location. We truly appreciate the consistent excellence we’ve experienced at your Humble restaurant and hope this feedback will help ensure that the same level of quality is maintained across all locations. Thank you for your time and attention.
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding an experience my family and I had at your restaurant located at 11301 I-45, Houston, TX 77037, on the evening of July 17th around 7:30 PM. After receiving our meals, my son had taken two bites of his swordfish when he discovered a long hair embedded beneath it. We politely asked for a replacement. The manager on duty came to our table and offered to either remove the fish from the bill or provide a gift card. We clearly stated that we were not looking for anything free, we simply wanted the swordfish remade. The manager then informed us that the kitchen was closing and they could only offer a soup or salad. This response was both unprofessional and disappointing, especially considering we had driven 40 minutes specifically so my son could enjoy this meal. After expressing our willingness to wait, the manager reluctantly agreed to remake the dish, stating it would take 30 minutes. We assured him we were fine with that. Our waiter, who was very kind and apologetic throughout, later offered to have the replacement boxed to go, which we agreed to. However, once we received it, I immediately noticed the portion was significantly smaller than the original. It became apparent that the original fish had simply been cut in half, likely to hide the pieces that had already been eaten. Upon cutting into it at home, the fish was extremely dry and fell apart — a clear sign it had just been reheated and not remade fresh. While we had already paid the bill, and no discount or gift card was given — which is acceptable since we didn’t ask for anything free — what’s most upsetting is how the situation was handled. The manager's dismissive attitude and the kitchen’s decision to re-serve altered food were unacceptable and reflect poorly on your establishment’s standards. Didn’t get the opportunity to fellowship with the new family members. We had reservations and everything
