Coppola's New York Reviews
We walk fifteen minutes to come here for coffee. Past a LOT of other coffee shops because the staff is wonderful, it’s cozy and warm and one of those neighborhood places that truly feels like a slice of New York. The coffee is good. The sweets are incredible. The chai latte is my favorite sweet delight. Plus sometimes you’ll find these handsome guys there.
Look at that croissant. Do you see that thing? That’s one of the best croissants I’ve ever eaten. Flaky, soft, buttery. Better yet, the coffee is perfectly medium roast—exactly the way it should be for a cup of black coffee. Coppola Cafe is unpretentious in a way that most coffee shops in the neighborhood are not. It’s quaint, affordable and staffed by an Italian team that knows their stuff. Consistently delicious. I’m here at least 4-5 times a week and it hasn’t gotten old. The gold standard for NYC coffee shops: 10/10
The Coppola Cafe is a delightful escape from the city’s chaos. With its vintage decor, soft jazz music, and cozy seating, it feels like stepping into a European café. The cappuccino was creamy and rich, and the pistachio croissant was flaky and indulgent. The staff are warm and attentive, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit. It’s an ideal spot for slow mornings, casual catch-ups, or simply enjoying a good book with a better coffee. Everything from the ambiance to the service feels thoughtfully curated. Truly a hidden gem worth returning to.
Very cozy place with good service! I ordered an iced matcha with oat milk and 3 pumps of vanilla and it was so good! I had to order it 3 more times. Not only the amazing drinks, the service there was great. The employed made me feel welcomed and they helped me with so many thing. You have to be something else if you don't like think place
I love the chai so much it’s so good. 10/10. Not too spicy, not too sweet, perfect consistency and flavor. Holy cow.
My favorite café in all of Manhattan, with wonderful espressos, cappuccinos, and cream- or pistachio-filled croissants. The tomato focaccia is a classic Italian treat. Gabriele, Rezzi, and Iddi are incredibly friendly and, just like in Europe, happy to chat with and get to know their customers, creating a warm, familiar atmosphere—something quite rare in this city. Great background music, too. Sitting in front of my laptop with a good espresso has become my daily morning ritual.
One of my favorite cafes / coffee shops in the neighborhood. My wifi went out when working from home one day so I popped in here to finish the day. The staff was so friendly and the cold brew was delicious. I love the vibe inside and there’s plenty of places to sit. I later came to find out that they have the best paninis. My go to is the Mario. Highly recommend this spot!
Best cafe in our neighborhood. The owners and staff are super friendly and best place to grab authentic Sicilian pastries or an espresso or cappuccino. And their outside patio tables are prime people watching spot right in W 4th and they also have ample seating inside for getting work done or for reading a book. So much better than Starbucks and it’s always nice to support local.
FOOD: 1.) Parma ham sandwich = yummy, appreciate they toast the bread just right 2.) Roll chicken hot dog = had this last time and was really impressed. The bread was toasted and was so fresh flakey with each bite SERVICE: Wonderful. Excellent. Always nice. 👌 Appreciate they have a restroom as well. V important for a cafe. They also have free wifi. ATMOSPHERE: Very cozy, great bustling warm, with good number of small high tables, window seating, few outdoor seating as well. Always people here chatting, working, eating. On a very cozy small street of my fave the Village West/Greenwichch. Apparently, it has a direct view of the street Bob Dylan’s record album cover was photographed! No wonder they had the record album on display by the window 👌.
Wow. ...This was the best cappuccino I've had in America... I don't post a lot of reviews, but had to in at this spot. Even still, I got my cappuccino with almond milk, and it still was delicious! Incredible european coffee here. I can't recommend this little cafe enough!
So many delicious croissants. I went with apricot. Lovely in the early morning when it isn't packed.
I highly recommend this place for one of the best coffee ever. I only had a comparable one in Italy and Tokyo. It was a perfect balance between strength of the coffee and milky foam❣️❣️ My partner had chai latte matcha pumpkin spice and said it was gorgeous - one of the best. Hopefully this place survives and will keep bringing smile onto people's faces as it did onto mine 😍😍 It is a pleasant, very cozy spot for anyone who loves Italy and Italian atmosphere 🇮🇹
Amazing little coffee shop. Very good selection of pastries! Enjoy!
Thank you for great customer service friendly manner which I found so rare in NewYork Your coffee was delicious Thank you!
A cute Intimate spot with decent amount of seats offering coffee and other beverages, and pastries! I got a mocha and it was delicious!
Coppola is like family- the best chai latte in the city, the kindest baristas and locals. You can get a to-die-for prosciutto croissant sandwich, listen to jazz while you read, bring your dog in for some cuddles and ham, meet wonderful West Village OGs, or get life and love advice from the warm Italians who run the place. Wherever you’re coming from, it’ll feel like home.
Good coffee, nice people, strong wifi and cozy seating. Taking the seat at the window gives you the best spot to people watch and get the vibes of the neighboorhood with enough foot traffic but not too busy.
My Favorite Italian Cafe in Greenwich Village . Friendly Staff . Great Owners I go several times a week Before work for Breakfast. Highly Recommend
It is very great environment to sit and study and have fun with you super delicious coffee and desserts. The people are also very nice .
Coffee tasted great and had the best prosciutto sandwich 🤤 will definitely come back for more.
The ambiance is everything you need in a coffee shop! The decor and inviting space is everything 😍
I could not say more positive things about Coppola Cafe! I truly love it here. The coffee is incredible, the pastries are fresh and scrumptious (my favorite is the pistachio croissant!), and the ambiance is reminiscent of a coffee shop in Europe. The owner and team are warm, kind, quick, and familial; the exact type of people you want to grab a coffee from in the morning! Could not recommend Coppola Cafe enough. Perfect place to start your day in NYC.
best cappuccino in new york! the espresso is smooth but strong, if you love coffee, this is the place. the owner is so nice, the atmosphere she has created is fantastic. the pastries are all also very good. the prices are super reasonable, i love to sit here and read for a while or watch the comings and goings on the street.
I absolutely adore this spot! The matcha was delicious, and the croissant was equally delightful. The ambiance is wonderful, making it a fantastic place for studying, working, or socializing with friends. I highly recommend this café! The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly.
I loved this place. The flatbread was really good and the staff were so nice. The man behind the counter forgot my coffee and apologized, it wasn't a big deal but I appreciated how quick he got my coffee to me. Space is a little small and it can get kind of crowded and loud, honestly it didn't bother me personally but I know for some people it might be a lot.
This is a very cozy shop. The croissants were delicious, especially the apricot. As was the golden latte.
Best lemon cake and best coffee I had in NY for sure. I love the atmosphere there and the way the employees communicate with each other. Feels like home :) keep it like this please
Excellent coffe, the Italian way, super friendly and welcoming staff, highly recommended!
Love this cafe! It's my go to place when I'm missing home (Rome). The paninis are A+, desserts are beyond delicious (and not too sweet!!), and the staff are very friendly.
I am Italian-American and Coppola Cafe is one of my favorite locations in the best part of Manhattan, Greenwich Village. The espresso is divine and atmosphere is very sweet. Also the sweets are fresh, and service is excellent. I highly recommend as your spot to grab a morning coffee!
An Italian cafe with around 20 seats. Wifi available. Cafe quality is good but the price feels like bit higher than the competitors around.
I liked this place! The iced coffee was good!
That hot chocolate save me from being freeze, small space but nice. Great service and price. Thanks
This is a nice small coffee place, Italian friendly owners. We were sitting outside and had a nice cup of coffee and sandwich on the street.
My crema croissant was good but hardly filled with custard unfortunately. Matcha latte was way too sweet and I was not warned that they use sweetener or sweetened plant milk. I probably should have asked, and overall should not hope to find a good matcha in an Italian coffee place. The ambiance is minimalistic with high top tables inside and 4 metallic tables outside, mine was super wobbly. Overall not too cute or cosy which would want me to come back. The service was nice and welcoming though, I appreciated they brought a glass of water with my matcha, it helped to wash off the sweetness.
Just a really bad iced mocha. Espresso tastes too strong and weird like dirt, then gross generic sugary Monin syrup that doesn’t taste chocolatey. Disappointed. They were very nice though.
Got an iced matcha latte, it was very watery with hardly any hint of matcha. The staff and vibes are nice, but the latte was really suboptimal.
Coffee was ok, ordered a Cappuccino. atmosphere not great, but average. What was really surprising was the bad/weird service, not friendly and helpful at all when I asked for support. I asked to help for a simple call to a public escape room (as I could not to do that with my German phone). The call was for free and they are not obliged to help people out here, but of course is still part of my service experience when you ask for a small, simple support like this. Its no revenge review (as commented) but the service reaction still ruined it. Still wish you all the best and hope other people have better experience here.
We stop by for a coffee with my 3 y/o who was quiet and cute . And the Barista was very mean and unkind. But not just with us. He made everyone to feel unwelcome!
I purchased a bottle of water here and asked to use the bathroom and the owner was very upset and told me I have to buy more to use the bathroom. The cafe was empty so I’m not sure if he was just frustrated that his business isn’t doing well or if this was a real policy. The owner should write that on a sign because it is NOT common practice for NYC, perhaps it is standard practice in Italy but not here
Low quality matcha tastes fishy, and not mixed well. Expected better for almost $7 cup. Pretty bad I had to throw it away
