Ritz Cafe Northport Reviews
Great ambiance, delicious food and friendly staff
Very good , great service, excellent homemade desserts
Great lunch specials. The food is really good.
Always fun & Great food. Love the lettuce wraps.
We kind of stumbled on this place on a spur of the moment drove to Northport. It's a cute place with a great view. Food was tasty and the cocktails are strong and flavorful
Nice place ! Good food . I had the Pasta with broccoli and sausage . A very well done bistro with a water view.
Amazing cuisine at reasonable prices. I highly recommend the skirt steak, which was recommended to me by the waitress and she really knew what she was talking about.
Great food. Great Bartender affordable nice clientele atmosphere kitchen staff always smiling Ever.and Nancy so nice
Wonderful food, great staff, and best of all - - there was no loud music. We could actually have conversations!!
Great food from the roasted garlic with bread to the entree wonderful, our server was right on quick and efficient a really nice night
Their food is to die for!! Do not miss the opportunity to come here. Robin is so friendly, funny and kind!
The food is always amazing the bar tenders are great so are the servers and the chef as well
Delicious, great menu, love the service at the bar, fun vibe!!
Very classy! Great place to visit in Naples. Drinks on the deck at sunset are spectacular.
Love everything. Great people, outstanding atmosphere
Great place. Food and drinks very good. Entertainment was on point. Definitely would go back.
Their lunch portions are huge and also quite tasty! The mussels fra diablo were greata

Really friendly restaurant Food was great. Worth a visit.
Friendly staff and owner , good atmosphere and delicious food. Solid spot in the village.
Very good time . Staff was incredible. Parking the biggest problem.
Delicious food...always great new specials...friendly staff...love it !!!!
Excellent. Food delicious, service quick and friendly, ambiance comfortable
Delicious food, good waiters and always kept my water full
Excellent food and service. Love this place! New england clam chowder, meatball app, chicken Parm, shrimp & broccoli angel hair, 2 drinks each, dessert and coffee. Everything was delish! And our waitress was Amazing!
This is by far the best restaurant & bar I have been to on long island. The food is delicious, the staff is awesome, it's has great atmosphere and the band is fantastic. My girlfriend and I have been coming here for 2 years now and I can honestly say that I have never had a better time at a restaurant & bar I have ever been to.
Once I asked the bartender to have someone tale our order, the dining experience was very good. The waitress that took our drink order must have left for the night as we waited 45 minutes to place our order and only after I asked the bartender to have someone take it. The portions were large. I had one of the "sunset specials" and it came with a salad and desert for $20
It's called the Ritz, but it's honestly not nearly as expensive as I feared because of the name. The mozzarella appetizer is a little pricy but delicious and absolutely worth it. My lobster crab bisque was excellent, and despite being one of the least expensive items it had generous amounts of shellfish meat. The wait staff wasn't immediately bubbly (which other reviewers may be describing when they call them "rude") but I found them to be helpful, and if you are cheerful and talkative to them, they will reciprocate.
Food and service at Ritz is always top notch. Lunch specials are very good and reasonably priced. There is never much of a wait, even when it is busy. We always have a good experience here and it is one of our favorite spots in Northport. In the summer time you can step out the door to Wolfies for dessert without even going outside. 5 stars for sure!
It is now called Duke's Bowls. The food is made with aloha. The view is beautiful. And they will cater your party!
Great atmosphere Great food
Talk about a well kept village secret! I have lived here all my life and I one of the absolute greatest things is having the Ritz so close by. The food is phenomenal, it truly is. When I have friends in from out of town and someone suggests dinner, I always say, "I've got the spot". Then I make them get a few mandatory items: Baked Clams, French Onion Soup, Tuna Tartare and then the Filet Mignon with Gorgonzola in a bacon/balsamic reduction. Jesus!! You should go here, that's probably the best thing to say...
Food and Service was good. Indide was one of the noisiest restaurants I've ever been in.
Top restaurant in downtown Northport! The steak tidbits, swordfish and Caesar salad are my favorites.
The food was pretty good at a reasonable price. My only complaint would be our waitress. She was rude, unprofessional, and just seems like she hates her job.
Food was delicious. We stopped in for a glass of wine and had some appetizers that were awesome. Service was excellent.
Excellent service and great food reservations are a must due to small space.....our party of 8 ate well and was very happy with everything all said they would be returning!
Please take my advice and stop in for a meal here. Robin took care of us and she was the best! The food was amazing and I will definitely be back.
A pleasant surprise, when we couldn't get a reservation at a popular alternative restaurant. Pleasant ambience, friendly staff, and an extensive menu . . . all of our choices were above our expectations!
Nice place, good vibes, great staff, best bartender Lauren! The owner John is such a gentleman, will always make you feel welcome and a part of the family Definitely recommend 🍸
We had family gathered for a birthday. Comfortable. Fabulous food and service. We all will definitely be back.
Amazing food in a cozy, somewhat upscale atmosphere. Definitely more of a place for local adults (kid friendly, but not common) and people looking to sit for a nice drink.
Excellent food and service great prices 👍
What a hidden gem!! From the moment we walked in Robin and Christine were quick to greet and take care of us! So happy we stumbled in! The food was AMAZING! Stuffed shrimp was exceptional! We will definitely be back!!! Thank you.
Great service, the restaurant was very busy and the servers were attentive, checking to make sure everything was right or if we wanted anything. Large menu, something for everyone. The food was great. First time here after the theater we will definitely be back!
A perfect combination of Cheers (everyone may not know your name, but you never feel like an outcast or stranger) and, because of the complexity and perfection of the food, your mother's kitchen on Sunday dinner. Yes, I do understand that that is an extremely weird combination! BUT .. I have Never seen anyone enter the Ritz that wasn't treated as if they hadn't been there 100 times before .. and as if they had been missed for every single day that they hadn't been in. For example: I met a new wait person tonight that made me feel as if I knew her for life, when we had only said "Hello" for the first time. Yeah .. like I said .. kinda weird. But seriously folks .. Even if you're not into the truly personal service of their staff, you MUST come here for the food !! I have been doing my best to work my way through the menu .. multiple friends have been dragged* along, in order to try and check off more options .. * and by dragged, I mean that if they've joined me once, they ask time and again when I'm coming back, so they can help me "evaluate" the food and drink options .. lol I'm afraid to tell you my favorites, because I may never find a seat, or my favorite food options available again .. In Other Words .. my heart was broken when I traveled here for their Escargot and they had sold out earlier that day .. mind you, it was a Monday night and the delivery was scheduled for the next day. .. so 24hrs later, I would have been able to indulge in a unique and exquisite variation of escargot on portobellos .. but on this night, I had to chose another option .. BUT AZ always .. and this is a BIG BUT!! .. I found out that their Chicken Pot Pie was just freshly made and added to the "Special" Menu and all I can say it that it was so perfect, that the trip was worth it!! You see, I'm not a 'local' .. so for me to stop by the Ritz, it takes some planning .. but Again, all I can say is that it's Definitely worth it! Their normal menu and their Special menu, offer a Bounty of options .. and 'we're still working our way through it and have Never had a bad meal ! As well as the fact that they have an extensive offering of beers, wines and perfectly made cocktails! Feeling indecisive (?), just let them know what you think you want, and they'll help you to your perfect evening or afternoon, all while sitting right across from the town's waterside park. I'm kinda hoping that no one reads this review, because I love the Ritz and all that it offers on a daily basis .. but I know that I can't be that selfish .. There are so few places that truly do 'it' right anymore .. and the Ritz is worth the trip, no matter where you're coming from or heading to.
We had a wonderful experience There and will return…. Very nice / service good / our waitress was great …. Wish I remembered her name …. Food good price was good too… I highly recommend it!
Northport on a lovely Memorial Monday afternoon we met the gracious and wonderful Rachel. She really made our dining experience as we enjoyed delicately seasoned broiled swordfish steak. She was timely and pleasant. She was also truthful as she advised us on our meal selections. Thank you Rachel for a five star experience.
The The service was excellent. The waitress, whose name I don't remember, but who has dark hair, was so nice and kind; she treated us like family. You should give her a raise; she deserves it. I highly recommend this place.
This was an exceptional place to eat, food service and ambiance was honestly unbeatable! Will definitely make a trip back to The Ritz Cafe! ❤️
Giving a restaurant you've never been to a try can be dangerous but sometimes rewarding. Well the ritz is one of those wonderful moments when you're glad you walked in. Doesn't have much atmosphere and a bit noisy but the food and service is excellent. Portions are enough to take home and so fresh and well made hats off to the chef. Great service by laurie. Prices are very reasonable and definitely make a reservation. Highly recommend.
Awesome little place in downtown Northport. The drinks and food and service were perfect. The restaurant is small and comfortable and seem like they were regular customers and the staff/owners who really took care of people. There was a nice acoustic guitar player who was an excellent entertainer, and the sound was also at the perfect level, not too loud.
I write this review regretfully because I really don't want too many people to find this place, we want to keep it for ourselves. I walked in this place for business, 20 or so years ago, and to date, I have not had a meal here, where I didn't lick my plate clean. The place is a hidden gem. Ever so slightly off the many drag in Northport Village, it is so worth the short walk from main street. Listen, Northport has lots of really good restaurants were you can eat a good meal at a good price, or a good meal at an absurd price, Ritz will give you such an amazing meal you won't give a damn about the price and then when you do see that price you'll say "really, that's it"? Are you sure I can't give you more? The portions are more than enough for some leftovers, but you probably won't have any because you aren't going to want to stop eating.
Went on New Year's Eve. We shared Coconut Shrimp for a appetizer, was fine. I had Chicken Franciase (photo, I like lots of pepper). It was very good. My wife had Seafood Fra Diavolo. She said it was good, could have been a little spicier. Had Key Lime Pie for dessert and that was excellent, nice and tart.
Just left The Ritz, and oh my goodness, the food was EXCEPTIONAL! Our waitress, Robin, was so peppy & friendly & the bartender, Jess, made the yummiest Sangria! We even got a visit from the chef, Fernando, who by far made the BEST KEY LIME PIE & FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE! Seriously the best we have ever had! What a treat! 🤗
Good service and food. Friends really enjoyed tuna sushi
The menu was extensive and fairly priced for the type of dishes available. The service was great, staff was friendly and attentive!
Friendly atmosphere. Popular with locals. Great drinks. Good food. Attentive wait staff.
Good food, but a bit pricey for outdoors in disposable dishes and cutlery. Beer from a paper cup might be okay in High School, not at a restaurant.
Nice lunch menu. Good portions, good food & service. Noisy, pleasant, accommodating.
I really like this restaurant. It was clean, the food was great and they were taking Covid seriously.
Great food and service. Didnt give it 5 stars as salmon was over cooked.
Reasonable local bar. Nice lunch menu. You can sit outside on nice days
Nice, confortable eatery. Staff great. Food was great; had a Chesapeake Benedict. Price a little high, but all good. Would go there again.
The Ritz Cafe has a diverse menu and always seems to hit on all of them. There are lots of places to eat in the village, but they do food well at The Ritz Cafe. They have a great view, friendly staff, the owner is always around to say hello and make sure everything is as it should be, and we've yet to get a bad meal here or have a bad experience.
Well located. Food very good. I was disappointed with a French toast brunch special. Family friendly.
Great atmosphere, and good customer service. The food wasn't hot enough; serving it hotter would make it great.
The menu is extensive with excellently prepared dishes. A home run. The escargot with mushrooms and the Tuna sashimi appetizer which we had last week was excellent along with the Blackened Swordfish and Flounder Florentine entrees. Drinks are mixed and served well. Service is attentive and friendly. Prices reasonable. We book the high top tables along the window with a view of the park and harbor. The other tables are low not offering any view. Many folks eat at the Bar which is active. The food and service make this a worthwhile restaurant with repeat visits.
Always a pleasure at The Ritz. It's been around long before me. It's like "Cheers" everyone knows everyone in this small town. I would have given 5 stars except that we came for a friends Birthday and the person whom we were celebratings dish was supposed to have salmon on the salad and it arrived with Chicken instead. I do not believe we were compensated for the error either.
We have dinner here more than a few times a year. Very good pub grub - drinks, wine, beers done well by bartender - prices reasonable. Big draw is reservations - good for prime time summer months when crowds fill up the town. Bar crowd tends to be on the subdued side - many older locals, not kids who get loud after a few rounds.
Good food...but ran out of a number of menu items and service was a bit slow...
We got there at 5:30 with a reservation. It wasn't busy, but drinks were slow. Food was okay
Service was very good..food was very good but prices were high
Food is spectacular! Bathroom is disgusting and can't help comparing it to kitchen. Table service...not bad or good. Bar seems to be where it is at.
Fun place, nice to eat outside. Food is average. Service is friendly, but when u sit outside they forget u exist. Crab bisque pretty good, calamari a little chewy. Wings are greasy and not crispy enough
Enjoy it for drinks, food is just ok. Needs improvement. Very over priced. Should offer some bar fare like chips and salsa or finger foods to order that aren't tiny little portions for ridiculous prices. This explains why its empty on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in July.
The server that served us was rude, she literally dropped the menu hard in front of me. When my husband requested for tea before she was about to walk away, she made this dirty expression as if we made her life difficult. I caught her red handed and she immediately pretended to be friendly again. It was not even busy the day we went there, lots of vacant tables. Not a right way to treat your customers. Definitely a one time thing, not going back there for sure. Not only that, the Turkey platter tasted like Ham! Although I have to say, their lobster bisque is quite nice.
The food was ok the both pastas that my family ordered were under cooked and my mothers had a hair in it. my fathers pork chop had the same black hair in it as well. A common theam with the meat we were served was that they were tough. Both my father’s and brothers meals were tough but the rest of the dish was good. My meal was mostly good such as the fries and the onion, the burger was cooked past medium(what i asked) and was well done and tough. The servers were very nice and took care of the problems and always were around to fill up the waters and they held up the drink menu for my wheel chain bound mother. The price for each dish was a lot around $20 per and I expected a better meal for that price
Good great- adorable restaurant. The waitress- an older woman- nasty as can be. She really was very nasty. I understand there is a limit on how long patrons have a table but there is a better and more professional way to speak to a customer. There was a misunderstanding on the phone when I made the reservation. The young woman who I spoke to was awesome and so accommodating. Very professional. If she got in trouble by the old cranky waitress - then I am sorry. Please personally contact me and I will be happy to speak to your manager. The old waitress needs an attitude adjustment and a class on how to speak to customers. She’s lucky I left her a tip. She truly didn’t deserve one. Nasty to me and to my friend and her family who sat at a different table. I would return but I would make sure I didn’t get that waitress.
First and last time. Terrible. Ordered a drink-bartender didn’t know what was in it. Waitress had to tell her. Still got it wrong. Terrible. Ordered Gorgonzala Mussels-tasted like a seafood wedge salad soup. When we said we didn’t like them the waitress crossed it off the bill but apparently “the owner tried them in the kitchen said they were good.” The fact that you ate off my plate, is so disgusting. Then when he came out the kitchen didn’t approach us, but just stared at us wasted drinking with his buddies. Nice ownership. Tuna tartar was just a pile of tuna with sauce. The best thing was their frozen mozz sticks. We had this place recommended and honestly super disappointed.
My wife and I went to the Ritz Cafe for dinner tonight before seeing a show at the Northport theatre. I have to say, I was not pleased with the overall dining experience. The one positive I will say, is the young hostess was very sweet and she seemed to be the happiest person in the building. When I asked for a lower table instead of a high top, she did try to accommodate us, but we managed okay with the high top. i say to the young hostess keep up the good work. I am not pleased with the waitress and the overall attitude with the rest of the staff. First off, it took the waitress a long time to even approach us to take our order. Secondly, when she took our order, she had this attitude and look on her face that said, "Hurry up and order, so I can punch out and go home." Thirdly, my wife orders a diet coke and it took about 10 minutes to bring her the soda. Fourthly, the food was below average and it looked like frozen product out of a bag and the waitress just dumped the check on the table without even looking at us. I can handle the food not being outstanding, if the overall attitude and vibe of the restaurant was more positive. I never waited tables before and dealing with the public and their food is a very hard job. I understand if the waitress was busy and was upset about something else. In that regard, I look at management and question whether they are giving the wait staff the tools to be successful. Unless I hear that there has been a change in attitude and food quality, the next time I attend a show at the Northport theatre, I will not be returning to the Ritz Cafe.
So disappointing for my family and I use to love to go to the Ritz cafe but now it’s dirty overpriced and in desperate need of a makeover!!!!not getting my hard eared money anymore 👎🏻
This place needs major updating. The owner has never spent one cent on updating this place in 40 years or there abouts. What a shame.
Now I know why it’s been a while since I’ve been here. Worst service imaginable. And food is basic bar food. I think the reason most people come here is because they don’t know better or don’t care
Absolutely horrible. I booked a reservation on Open Table, and I arrived to the restaurant 10 minutes early. I was told by the hostess that they did not expect to have that many people and they did not have a table for me. A waitress then came over and told me to wait outside (in freezing weather) because I was crowding the entrance. The hostess did not even apologize for not holding my reservation. Needless to say I will never be going back to the Ritz. Not to mention it was small, stuffy, uncleanly, and had a musty aroma upon walking in the door. Such a shame with such a great location across the harbor in Northport.
Went there with friends for dinner. The steak was chewy. My friends pasta fell apart and was inedible. Sent it back and was credited a whopping $10 bucks on the price fixed menu. Oh and the instant mashed potatoes? Really! My steak was to be wrapped around a tower of potatoes. Instead it was thrown on top of a heap of Idoahan Instant. Been going here for almost 30 years since it opened. Loyal loyal loyal and have sent many many customers and this is how I’m treated? Not so nice guys and embarrassing since I brought three people with me. Not sure I’m returning.
They were completely stumped by a request for a Bulleit old fashioned, first spending upwards of 15 minutes searching for their elusive bottle of Bulleit, then giving me an attitude (and telling me they were also struggling to find an orange) when I walked to the bar and asked to change my drink order. Food was also mediocre and, overall, it's obvious that this place has become complacent and needs to be replaced by an ambitious restaurant that actually appreciates its extremely fortunate location and affluent clientele. These guys are completely 'mailing it in' at this point...
Definitely never going back food was absolutely horrible.
The waitress seemed hungover. She gave us terrible service. My Tilapia piccata was mushy and they put it on top of mashed potatoes which to me was strange and it made the fish even mushier. Didn’t eat it and she didn’t give a hoot that I didn’t enjoy it.The restaurant also charges a surcharge if you pay with a debit or credit card.
Came today. To order breakfast to go. Waited over 40 min, the manager Lorie was the rudest person ever, scream at me when I asked her if she was going to bring me coffee. Worst service EVER!!! Never coming back
AVOID THIS PLACE.....Spend 1 hour 15 minutes to get my food.. the waitress not friendly at all...
The first and last time ever going. The worse waitress of all time!! She maybe said 2 or 3 words placed the daily special easel on top table of our table so she won't speak. The place is so filthy caught a glimpse of the kitchen going to the restroom now that's another story. The appetizers were very good but we had to clean our plates and make room for the main course that was disgusting the 2 steaks were cold the steak tidbit sandwich was half cold have hot the scallops were rubbery the older waitress did not come to our table once to ask how the food was or if we needed anything the poor young waitress was so embarrassed kept apologizing for her. She dropped the bill on table silently picked it up they charged me an extra 13 dollars on a 370$ check . First time I contemplated not tipping but couldn't go through with it left her double the tax 60$ tip and will never step foot there again....
Very disappointed. made a reservation on Sat at 5 o'clock and were told must be done by 6:30. We agreed, parked the car and walked in 4 minutes later. Our table was given to two women who walked in the same time as us. We were told we could sit at the bar and eat. We thought that very unfair and not appropriate with our young daughter with us. Our protest fell on deaf ears, the women working there could care less and should probably find another career, restaurant hospitality is beyond her skill set. Don't ever visit this restaurant if you are relying on a reservation, it means nothing here. If this restaurant goes out they will blame it on Covid but it will really be due to unprofessional lousy ownership and employees.
Disappointed . We arrived at 7for our res hostess said it would be a 1/2 hr or so wait they’re really busy. I say we have a res for 7 her reply while laughing we can’t do that. We don’t have that table for you I said OK I understood it was restaurant week we stood in doorway waiting. 35 sat at table 15 minutes later waitress shows up not very pleasant got our food around 8.20 Food was OK but I was hungry so ate it. check my phone there an email from OpenTable about me being a no-show for my reservation. The hostess was nearby and I asked why she said I was a no show she said who cares and was very dismissive and when I explained that it goes against me, she came up with a Story about the tables being split, and open table doesn’t allow you to split tables. the waitress asked was everything OK and I said I tried to find out why your staff member said I didn’t show up for my reservation. I tried explaining that it goes against you when you’re no call no shows on OpenTable. The person sitting next to me had overheard the conversation and chimed in saying it happened to her I was a no call no show and I was banned off OpenTable so really you should have your staff member correct that.she did say she would talk to the hostess about it. I got my dessert. My husband did not get his dessert. We got the special Bill was placed on the side of the table. I was told she had to spend 20 minutes on the phone with OpenTable trying to sort this out with a lot of attitude at no point did a manager come over and apologize did they make any compensation for their complete mess up and how they treated us.I usually don’t write reviews negatively because I understand that there could be a lot of things going on a lot of times I just forget to write reviews, but I do go to a different restaurant every week so I have a ton of eating out experience.spent 1am to 6 am throwing up
We had a reservation tonight and we still waited 30 minutes but sure no problem it was a nice night so we waited outside. When we sat we waited another 20 minutes for a server. I asked where our server was and then she appeared but with no apology. We then ordered drinks! Server was Not friendly at all. Drinks came and we ordered a soup to start and our entrees. Soup never came out so we asked when it will come out and yes again it appeared it’s like they forgot until we asked. Food also took a long time to come out. We were never asked how our dinner was and if everything was ok. Nope . We had to ask for our check. Not asking if we wanted dessert. She was working on a larger table so obviously she was more attentive to them . Food was ok but won’t be back. Restaurant is small with a few tables outside curbside. Not appealing at all. Plenty of other places in northport to eat!
We had to wait 30 minutes for our table. The pasta, which was supposed to be in red sauce, was just boiled with raw tomatoes and lacked any flavour or proper preparation. There was hair in the water, and the chicken patty was undercooked and raw. Please look into the food quality and hygiene.
