This tropical little gem is about to expand and if you go there you’ll know exactly why. The atmosphere is tranquil and inviting. The owners work hard to make you feel special, calling you by name, remembering your order even with the hundreds of people who come & go each week. The food is fresh and amazing. Presentation is beautiful. Service is always with a smile. Ícaro is a must visit for a coffee lover or chocolate lovers alike. Don’t miss the CHOCOLATE CROISSANT… get there early, they sell out!
Had breakfast here three days in a row. Beautiful little breakfast place with delicious food. Avocado toast is amazing and you have to try their pan de almendra which arrives every morning fresh from the bakery.
A hidden gem in Mazunte! Ícaro Café is the perfect spot for a peaceful brunch or a relaxing coffee break. The atmosphere is calm and charming, surrounded by nature and cozy seating areas like hammocks and hanging chairs. Their pastries are absolutely delicious – especially the chocolatín, which is as good as anything you’d find in Paris. The coffee is rich and flavorful, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It’s a must-visit if you’re in Mazunte – but get there early for the freshest selection
BEST COFFEE SHOP IN MAZUNTE!! I have been to literally every coffee shop in Mazunte and this is by far the best for the coffee, the atmosphere and the people. The vibes here unlike any coffee shop I've ever been to, they have the best sweet dirty chai I've ever had in my life, and the women who run this place are so amazing.
Very nice outdoor seating, off a quiet street close to the beach. Surprisingly some of the best French pastries I’ve tasted outside France. A bit more expensive than some of the other places around but also very good food/drinks. Friendly (domesticated) dog hanging around. Payment by PayPal is possible.
This place is a real gem — and the morning lineup goes to show it! We came by this morning and had a wonderfully rich mocha, as well as a flavourful espresso. The atmosphere is great: fun, warm, and vibrant. The service is terrific for those very same reasons! Plenty of books available to borrow/leave, which always brings a smile to my face :) They’re known for their pastries, which we didn’t get, but boy oh boy did the pain au chocolat look heavenly..
Amazing place with phenomenally great pastries and very good coffee and other drinks. Very lovely, laidback atmosphere — exactly what you need in the morning. Friendly and attentive staff. But you gotta be early to get any pastries — often sold out by 9:15.
Very cozy cafe located centrally in Mazunte with a nice vibe. The breakfast was delicious, they offer different types of toasties and granola fruit bowls as well as cakes/ pastries. Also the girls working there were very nice and helpful - would definitely recommend coming here when staying in and around Mazunte :)
What a perfect spot for breakfast pastries and coffee! This is hands down the best coffee I’ve had in Oaxaca (including the city and Porto Escondido areas) and the pastries are to die for, also the best I’ve had in Oaxaca by a long way! It takes a lot for me to say that being spoilt by fresh bakeries in London…the pain au choc I inhaled two days in a row and it was crispy pastry but melty choc. Get there soon after opening each morning or you’ll miss out on the amazing pastries bought freshly baked by their patisserie partner. Lovely chilled vibes, a little library of books and some artisanal clothing and jewellery add to the local vibes. Very friendly owner and servers. Very reasonably priced. You HAVE to visit x
LOVED the epic vibe at this adorable cafe. All the details are perfection. Great coffee and beautifully made local cacao, which all come in handmade ceramics shaped like hearts or faces. There’s colorful decor, incredible baked goods (they go quick so get in early!), and wonderful service in this tiny, hidden spot. What a gem 💎🙏
Very cosy place. Food is great! I came here couple of times for breakfasts and so far these are the best toasts I've tried. I only wish they added eggs on the toasts, too :) Coffee is one of the best in town (and I tried many places!)
Really lovely place with super friendly staff. It’s like an oasis hidden in the side streets. Had a pain au chocolat and an avocado toast for food. It was tasty! nothing special but a nice little treat for lunch. also had a dirty matcha which was delicious.
Wow this was such a cute chilled out spot! I loved this place and the ice mocha I tried was superb! I loved the decor here so much. The staff were really sweet and a special shout out to Izali (I think that's how you write her name) who gave me tips on how to enjoy Mazunte.
Hands down best pastries in Mazunte!! The chocolate croissant is a must and a surprise variety of additional treats every morning! Worth waking up early to get there before they’re all gone😋 And the wonderful staff are super friendly🌸 highly recommend✨

Very good pastries. Try the chocolatin. Small and cosy garden, relaxing athmosphere, also good for takeaway. Nice owners.
Nov 2024, pastries 🥐 are all around 50pesos each. The chocolate croissant was sold out at 9am. Got an almond one, its more like a morning bun than an European style crispy fluffy croissant. Was planing staying longer, but there’s no fans feeling hot even in the shades. Also, the baño is out of service.
