Flavors Nigerian Restaurant Orlando Reviews
Came from all the way Europe and brought a friend from Nigeria with me. Loved the food and it was beyond amazing. Especially plantain. So sweet and ripe! We didnt know about this place, so we just randomly found it and couldn’t be more happy. Better than any of the other fast food in the neighbourhood!
The food was delicious! The asun was as I expected, spicy, flavorful, and delicious. It didn’t even make it on my trip back to Jacksonville! I also tried the white rice and stew, stew was not spicy (so if you are worried about spice level, it was perfect).
Great taste of home in Orlando! The food was very authentic and flavorful — exactly what I was craving. Jollof rice was well seasoned, the egusi was rich and delicious, and the portions were generous. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the vibe felt like true Nigerian home cooking. If you’re looking for real Naija food in Orlando, this spot definitely delivers. I’ll be back!
My husband and I were a little nervous to try this place because of some of the reviews, but we really wanted to try African food. We were so surprised. It ended up being one of the best meals we have ever had, and the portions were pretty big. I actually got full halfway through my plate. If you are new to African food, definitely try the egusi with chicken. It’s a great gateway. As Mexicans, we thought it was similar to Mexican food but with different presentations. We will definitely come back. Don’t let the bad reviews discourage you. They are probably from picky eaters expecting foods they’re used to. The woman working the front was very kind and helpful, and the restaurant was clean. There was a bit of a strange smell, but that usually comes with the combination of spices and meats used. It did not bother us, so don’t let it put you off. ❤️
The first sign that this was a good place to eat was the flood of Nigerians coming and going to pick up food items from the restaurant. The menu items were explained to us by a kid (the owner's child), but his recommendations and explanations were great. The food was fantastic. This unassuming restaurant was a must try place, go back for more.
I had a great time at Flavors Nigerian Kitchen in Orlando. I ordered white rice with stew and it was delicious. The stew was full of bold Nigerian flavor. I also had fried plantains—they were sweet and crispy. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant felt warm and homey. If you want real Nigerian food in Orlando, try this place. I’ll definitely go back again!
Wonderful Joyce served us and explained every dish! Wonderful Delicious Réal African food for the whole family!
It was a great experience, the food was very flavourful, decent portion size expect the sauce was too small for the size of Amala and Pounded yam served.
I haven’t eaten Nigerian food in a long time cause there are no african food where I live but trust me, this is the best african food you will eat in America. The taste of the food was amazing. The staffs were amazing.Definitely a recommendation .

Went there for the first time this week, And the food was really good. I wanted to try the Egusi soup with Fufu, It was spicy and delicious at the same time. It was a little pricey for the amount of soup, But I really enjoyed it.
I tried the egusi with beef 10/10 it was so good! The meat was tender the fufu was a little different than I expected but I’ll definitely be back! I want to try the jollof rice next.

I came specifically for the fufu and egusi soup, it has been something I've been wanting to try! It was amazing! So flavorful and everything I hoped it would be. Yes it is cooked with peppers, but it's not spicy without flavor! I'll be coming back soon to try the other soups
This Nigerian restaurant did not disappoint me and my family. We came to FL for vacation and my wife is a very good so if we have to eat out it has to be on par. Well Joyce our host/server did an excellent job in taking care of us at this restaurant. She gave us options for what to get for the kids and she was very hopitable and professional. The food came out on time, hot and fresh. I rate it a 4/5 for like I said it will be really hard for any restaurant to top my wife's delicious cooking. I will highly recommend for anyone that wants a good taste of delicious Nigerian food. And an atmosphere where you feel like you in Nigeria with the loud voices of other Nigerian guest around. That's just how we roll!!!
I grew up eating Nigerian food because of my sister's family and when I moved here, I lost the chance and have had any in a long time. I saw this place a few years back and always wanted to try it and finally got the opportunity today! I ordered the egusi soup with goat meat , jollof rice, and plantains. I typically have eaten the egusi soup with dry fish and snails ( unwillingly 😭) so it was a first time trying it with goat. The goat meat was full of meat but was a little dry but still tasty. The egusi soup was very good. It almost reminded me of my sister's family. I really liked the fact it was not too spicy but still had a kick. I do wish the portion was a little bigger because I enjoyed it so much. The fufu was definitely great texture and good enough to get the flavor of the soup. The jollof had a burnt taste to it but despite that it was well seasoned and well portioned. I like that it had a little kick to it as well. I also enjoyed it with the plaintains . The price was $33 for everything with no drink. Overall, would come back for more :)
This is my first time trying Nigerian food and it didn’t disappoint. Egusi soup with goat meat was packed with flavors. I’m definitely coming back for more!

Bathroom was not cleaned. And the food was so salty with Maggi and salt. Jollof was too smoky. Since today is my first trying Nigerian jollof and pounded yam with Egushi. We did not like it all. I came in for the Amala and Ewedu. But I was disappointed with it. I had to go for whatever was there. And it wasn’t even up to my expectations.
absolutely love the authentic flavors this establishment has to offer— but throughout the years, the prices just keep going up and somehow the portions have gotten smaller. paying almost $20 for a soup that’s 8 oz. in portion is a bit much. i really wish they could serve a bit more, it would make a huge difference. but until the portion and pricing make sense, i’ll have to hold off on indulging or until more comes along in Orlando. should’ve used my hand as reference for sizing in the picture. but the bowl fits perfectly in my hand and i have small hands. and the bowl is not even, half full of the soup itself. and the true problem is, the portion is the same even without protein.

I came into this restaurant yesterday evening around 5 o’clock, and I specifically told the lady at the register I did not want spicy foo foo for one. I didn’t get all my food and two. It was very little soup. Very big chunk of meat. I did not get all my meat I asked for I asked for beef, chicken and turkey. I only got turkey. I insisted numerous times I did not want spicy. I got home with my Fofo two hours later with food missing and spicy food, I could not eat it. I’m very disappointed with my first time trying food food. A place you want to try for our first time do not do it. We’ll never try this place again. and the jollof rice tasted scorch and burnt barely had any chicken in it. I was very disappointed and I spent almost $60.
We came to Orlando for a business meeting and decided to visit the local Nigerian restaurant. I did not like the food at all! I had the pepper soup, which was just ok, and the portion size was too small for the cost. My husband had Egusi soup, and it was terrible. It did not taste like Egusi at all, and it was brought to the table cold. He is kind and simply asks the lady to warm it. She still brought it back cold. My husband is not one to complain when it comes to food, but he says he will never come back there. This is a bad representation of Nigerian food, I'm sorry to say. I highly recommend the owner to work on food taste and hire people who can cook tasty food. Unfortunately, I will not be back.

I was very disappointed my egusi was very oily and my plantains tasted stale. I had just completed my glucose test for my pregnancy and hadn’t ate in 13hours so I was really hungry. I just moved to Florida from Nashville TN so it’s been difficult replacing the places I’d go to in my hometown. I was really excited but I guess everyone doesn’t cook there egusi the same. I’ve never had egusi that was really oily and plantains that tasted stale. Hopefully I find a place that aligns with me and my taste buds. I got pounded yam with egusi no meat and plantains.
Went here a while ago. As you can see from the way the owner acts towards negative feedback, the customer service is horrendous. We got small portions compared to other tables. Lady at the front was rude and kept rolling her eyes when we asked for extra plates. The egusi soup was straight up water and seeds and had a rotten stench to it. Fufu was sour. Food was not fresh at all. Dry beef, mostly just bones. Instead of fighting with paying customers in the comments section, the owner should try to improve so we dont have to leave out comments like this. By the worst restaurant in Orlando.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place. If I could give 0 stars I would. Came in today with my best friend. Lady did not greet us. I assume she was racist. She was stern and cold. When I asked questions about the menu she would roll her eyes, I asked for an extra plate & she rolled her eyes. I also noticed the rice they served us was so little compared to other people’s plates. Not to mention the food was terrible. We ordered the rice with beef and it was just bone. It was the texture of a broomstick and as dry as the Sahara desert. The egusi soup with beef was horrible as well. The fufu tasted sour and weird. It was all a horrible experience. The only good thing was the rice and even that - I would give a 3/10. I wouldn’t support a business like this even if the food was good. The customer service was awful.
