Pho Mazing Placentia Reviews
Big portions and great prices! The pork noodles bowl with egg rolls looked so delicious that I forgot to take a pic! Definitely improved since the pandemic. I’ll try the pho and other dishes next time. Edit: RETURNED FOR MORE! Pro tip — ask for the fried egg on top of the combo. Worth it, fam. EDIT: The “Pho Mazing” pho dish is pretty good. It’s chewy though so if that’s not your jam, get the pho combo that doesn’t have the back ribs.
This place lives up to their name. Pho was tasty and the staff was friendly. The atmosphere was cozy. 10/10 would recommend.
The flavor lives up to its name. It truly is PhoMazing! I had the raw steak and brisket. The Jazmin tea was strong, but not bitter. I wish they would sell it by the gallon. We will definitely be back and try other items on their menu.
Very cozy restaurant. First time here, the food is good. Will come back again.
Probably one of the best pho I’ve had. Spring roll was the cherry on top. Our waitress was amazing, down to earth staff, great food. All in all loved it.
Great place to get pho! Friendly staff and clean environment. And of course, the pho is delicious!
The Food was Delicious! The Vibe and Music was Great! Definitely going back for more and something new.
Great Pho, hot broth all the way thru the meal. Service was great also..

Great authentic food! The Pho is glorious, the Bun is so tasty, spring rolls are delicious. Lemon grass chicken or tofu is awesome. Wonderful owners are always so kind.
One does not simply order Pho from any regular reataurant. During the chill of the winter months, one's pho must not only be hot enough to warm ones stomach, but the flavor must be equally satiating. Ladies and gentlemen, if you have been tired of subpar pho with equally poor service, I am glad to announce yo you all that your search for the best pho you've ever had is over. Not only is the broth steamy hot, but the specific flavoring this family restaurant utilizes is spectacular. You can tell that it is freshly made and that much effort has been expended to curate the best flavored broth I've EVER HAD. As a pho enjoyer, I can't believe I've never been here before. And if that is not enough, the lovely hostess/waitress, who is also part of the family that owns this business is the kindest and warmest soul I've ever had tend me at a Pho restaurant. The service is prompt, warm, and delivered with care. She's also very humorous and will engage with you in a little small talk! God bless this place. Do yourself a favor and warm yourself up with the most spectacular pho you've ever had.
Was able to try this place recently as I was trying to find a Pho restaurant closer to me. I am already in love with this place. Stepping in, I already felt at home. This restaurant is quite narrow, but makes up in space by being an awkwardly long restaurant. The decor and staff screams Mom and Pop and that's is where the best Pho is usually. I came in here craving Bun Bo Hue, and was determined to get it. My friends opted for the typical Pho because it is a Pho restaurant. First impressions was the broth from both the Pho and the Bun Bo Hue was that it was less saltier than most restaurant. This is excellent for those who want it less saltier than normal, and those who want is saltier can put extra Hoison sauce or Fish sauce. I was also able to try their Thai Tea because of a Yelp check-in offer. It was nice a sweet, but not too sweet.
Perfect little hole in the wall locals joint for a classic bowl of pho. I got the small P2 combo and it hit the spot. Major kudos for nailing the correct noodles-to-broth ratio!!! We've been here a few times over the past few weeks and they've proven to be consistently good. 👍 Excellent service and clean establishment as well. For reference, I've been eating pho my whole life and was born in Vietnam, so this place is legit!
Literally the best pho place in OC (I’ve tried lots of them). Their phomazing comes with a giant ox bone that you eat the meat off of and will make you drool. Husband gets the chicken chow mein that I end up eating half of. Rich authentic flavor tastes like it’s from Asia.
Food was Phocan amazing ! Katelyn was very nice, thank you . Will be coming back The Price was as good as the food !
My husband and I tried Pho Mazing yesterday. We had Pho with Beef Rib and Pho Combo. The flavor of the soup was excellent and the noodles were chewy. We did not get thirsty afterward unlike some other Pho restaurants. We also tried the crispy egg rolls which were very tasteful. The carrot and the lettuce condiments were crunchy and fresh. The staff was friendly and courteous.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food. The rice tasted like it had been cooked a long time ago — it was dry and even slightly crunchy. The spring rolls were also quite dry, and the dipping sauce had an unpleasant flavor. The only highlight of the meal was the Thai iced tea, which was delicious and refreshing.

I wish I could love it more. I love the sassy yelp mom and her comments about the food/what people say but it just wasn’t for me. My friend and I got the vermicelli now and the #1 and the food was.. okay. The pork belly vermicelli was good and had a lot of flavor. Some of the meat was just fat slices but some people dig that so we weren’t complaining. My pho was interesting. The meat was good but the broth had an bad smell to it that wasn’t too pleasant. I couldn’t drink the soup as it was too salty. I left most of the meal and only ate the back ribs. I won’t be returning but I did like the bowl.

I used to love this place—the pho is seriously amazing. I kept coming back just for that. But honestly, I’ve had enough of the attitude that comes with it. There’s one chunky girl working here who acts like being nice is physically painful. Every time we come in, she looks irritated, rolls her eyes when we choose to sit together, and storms off like we just ruined her day. Meanwhile, other people get VIP treatment—smiles, friendly service, the whole deal. It’s clearly not about being busy, it’s just about who she wants to be nice to. I don’t need a red carpet, but I also don’t need to be treated like a burden just because I want to eat good pho with my people. Food: 10/10 Service: Straight-up disrespectful I’m out. Plenty of other spots with great pho and decent human beings.
7th Time, Last Time It's often said that you can't truly judge a restaurant until you've been there multiple times. However, my recent experiences here, particularly my 7th visit, have made it clear that sometimes it's better to trust your instincts earlier. Unfortunately, this will be my last time dining at this establishment. Service The service has been consistently disappointing, and it's hard to ignore it any longer. The restaurant opens at 5:00 PM for its second shift, and for the last three visits, the host has greeted us with an unmistakably negative attitude. From eye-rolls to muttered "ugh"s under her breath, it's clear she isn't too thrilled to see us or to be working there. On a recent visit, we arrived at 6:00 PM, and the restaurant was empty. The host, however, proceeded to seat us at two of the least desirable tables in the place--awkwardly located and offering poor views. (She literally only gave us 2 option tables) I've always preferred sitting next to my significant other, and for the past five visits, we've consistently chosen a specific table. It's not an unreasonable request, especially when the restaurant is nearly empty, yet every time ! politely ask for that table, the host acts frustrated. What makes it even worse is her behavior when I point out the table we've always sat at. Instead of simply accommodating our request, she became visibly annoyed, complaining about an impending "rush hour" and the likelihood of a large party. Mind you, this was all happening in an empty restaurant, and we were the only ones there. It felt like we were being punished for asking for a small comfort--a simple request that should have been a non-issue. Overall Atmosphere Despite the charming ambiance of the restaurant, it's difficult to overlook the growing discomfort with the service. When the staff's attitude becomes so off-putting, it detracts from everything else. What should be a relaxing evening out for us has now turned into a frustrating experience. A warm greeting, a friendly attitude, and accommodating service go a long way in creating a memorable dining experience. Unfortunately, this place has lost that spark, and it's hard to justify returning for what is supposed to be an enjoyable night out. If you're looking for a place with good food and a pleasant experience, I would suggest looking elsewhere. The food, while tasty, isn't enough to make up for the consistently poor service. For me, after seven visits, it's clear that this restaurant just doesn't value its customers enough to make it worth coming back.
