My experience at the plattsburgh applebees was exquisite, an amazing team of staff members that help bring out the food effectively and efficiently having you left satisfied the entire night. Th new buffalo chicken queso is a definite must when ordering not too spicy and delicious.

I have been in multiple restaurants in NY in the past few days as a tourist, the attitude of people working here are brilliant, from James who welcomed us at the door to Courtney who has smart and nice answers to your questions. I have read multiple other reviews and found that I am not the only one impressed by the attitude of people working here. I believe a manager with a similar mindset can bring these people under one roof. I highly recommend this place. Bravo.

Stopped by for a quick lunch while in Plattsburgh and we were seated immediately (it was a weekday). We had the garlic sirloin skillet along with boneless wings & everything was tasty. Our waitress was also great. Would definitely come back!

Awesome bartender!! But caution they have a maximum drink policy even if you have a ride or you are within walking distance to your hotel. Safety first right! The bartender was very apologetic. I just thought it was a great experience with her and enjoyed my stay even though it was limited. I would have stayed longer and limited my 2 beers over a longer period of time..just because of the service. It was awesome including the pecan cake with ice-cream.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant, creating an enjoyable dining environment. I do wish that the quantities of mashed potatoes and chicken would have been more. However, the service was slower than expected, especially given how quiet it was at that time of day. Despite this minor issue, the overall experience was positive and satisfying.

I recently visited Applebee’s Grill & Bar and had an overall enjoyable experience. We ordered a variety of items, including drinks, appetizers, salad, chicken, and pasta. Havent been to an Applebees in a long long time, and maybe my expectations was set too high. Regardless, the food was very tasty, service and reception was good, atmosphere and ambience was also good. There was a bit of a waiting list, but worth the wait.

Came here on a day when I overheard they were short on staff in the kitchen and only had 1 cook on the floor. As such, took a bit before we got a table (as they were trying not to overfill the dining room) but once we did, the rest was seamless afterwards; service was excellent, food was great and didn't take too long to arrive. The portions were huge and the prices were reasonable. There was a lot of chicken in the mixed entree. We split between 2 people and there was no need to order more. The fountain drinks were not very good. I would prefer a can or bottle over the musty tasting 7up and ginger ale. They gave no hassle over the issue. This place is best for large groups if you want to get past an entree and try an actual meal. But I can't complain about the tasty chicken that was well seasoned and covered with a nice but not too heavy coating of sauce.

Good service, nice and quiet at one of the only resturaunts that are open on a Monday. We came back from an appointment in Vermont and needed to eat real dinner, cuz fast food doesn't do well with me before bed. But this place had fast service, good food, and when my daughter didnt like what she ordered it was quickly replaced. Id rather go here for an emergency dinner any day. Or 99's we like that place too. Haha 😄

I had a plat of ribs, there were good. All was good until I had to go to the bathroom...omg! Not very pleasant 😕. The smell of sewage was very strong. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

It is a cozy family restaurant with sports on television. Service and personal are wonderful and helpful. Various menus give multiple options for all but the most difficult eaters. Good selection of drinks and Beers🍻. Multiple eating sections

As far as chain restaurants and bars go, this isn't so bad! We had a very friendly waitress who despite being totally swamped with the amount of customers she had so late in the evening was consistently cheerful and attentive ( I wish I could remember her name!) We came for happy hour margs and apps and had a great time!

Was pretty crowded on a Monday night. I had a long stop during my bus journey and this happened to be the only place nearby. Food was tasty, generous portion of chips but I thought I’d get a larger portion of buffalo chicken dip. I feel like my dish was more like grilled chicken with queso than an actual thick and creamy buffalo dip, but it tasty. Chips were fresh and crunchy. I had the Dracula drink with the extra shot. Total came out to 18 dollars which is a great value, the Dracula drink was on the 6 dollars which special. Service was fine from the hostess and bartender. The guy who actually delivered my food was very friendly. If I have another long stop here coming down from Montreal, I’d visit again. Only had about 40 minutes so I was glad everything came out pretty quick which was great considering how crowded it was.

While traveling from Manchester, Vermont to Montreal, I realized—mid-drive—that I had left a day early. Normally, not a big deal, but because it was a Sunday, my bank was closed, and I hadn’t warned them I’d be crossing the border. That meant my card wouldn’t work in Canada until I could call the next morning. So I figured I should fuel up—car and stomach—before crossing over. Anyone who’s driven through northern Vermont or upstate New York knows that spots of true civilization are few and far between, so I was honestly relieved when I reached Plattsburgh, NY, about an hour from the border. I stopped at Applebee’s, a chain I’ve visited many times, and while this one wasn’t drastically different, it was exactly what I needed in the moment. The restaurant wasn’t packed, I was seated promptly at the bar, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered the Cajun pasta, a New Orleans-inspired dish, and they had no issue removing the raw onions for me (a personal dietary must). The meal came out quickly, was warm and flavorful, and hit the spot. Nothing extravagant, but sometimes comfort food and familiarity are the perfect combination, especially when you’re in between countries with limited access to your funds. Now, having had that experience, I might just make this my go-to pit stop on future trips to Montreal. Dependable, friendly, and just what I needed.

I was pleasantly surprised. We just stopped in for a quick lunch while passing through. My husband had a bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup that was spicy and loaded with chicken and sliced tortillas. Good food, good people, is the slogan and pretty much fits the experience. After a 20-minute wait , we were taken to our table. The waitress was friendly and visually tired, which was understandable as it was a very busy day due to it being platsburghs graduation weekend. The food was pretty good, though there was a debate on the steak being 6oz or 8oz sirloin. You can decide via the pictures taken, and the service was as good as the staff was very attentive. All in all, it's worthy of another visit.

As many others have mentioned they have a problem with staffing. That can't be helped. But their response is a bit nonsensical. We arrived, like many others, to an empty restaurant. There were 8 tables seated and 2 servers. We were told a 20-30 minute wait as other servers were enroute or we could sit at the bar. We sat at the bar, but they continued to load the bar and not fill tables. Servers do not have to make all the drinks so loading up the bartender makes no sense. I saw the sheets standing around chatting while the bartender, who was amazing, didn't stop to take a breath. I just didn't get it. Also, why have people start at noon? Every restaurant I ever worked at, servers came in before the rush. If review after review is saying the same thing you really need to take a look at your scheduling.

First time trying Applebee’s Amazing service But the taste of the food was bland

It’s still Applebee’s, only the food is much, much worse. We came in to watch the playoff games, service was fine! She did a great job. Drinks were extremely weak in alcohol content considering what we paid, and the food was just horrendous. Both salads were made with the whitest, most translucent lettuce you’ve ever seen. My girlfriend’s salad was completely drenched in dressing on one side, no dressing at all on the other. Chicken and shrimp were both sadly undercooked, almost grey in color, and seasoned badly. My chicken tenders were room temperature, lifeless, not a whiff of steam coming off them, like they’d sat in a heater waiting to be served for no less than 15 minutes, bland, and just not worth paying for. Fries were also clearly sitting out for a long time before I got them. Riblets were about 80% bone, 10% inedible bits and fat, and 10% meat that was just okay. Applebees is gonna be on a long cooldown period for me after this one.

Bourbon burger was so sloppy I couldn't eat it . Got tired of trying to keep the juices from running down my arm and on my clothes. No one seemed to notice I only ate three bites of my burger. Disappointed

Made us wait 15 minutes and there were open tables and booths all over. The waitress should get a different job she had no clue what she was doing. I had to repeat 3 times what I wanted and she still screwed it up. I ordered med rare steak I got well done. We have been there in the before and it was good. Not this time.

We went twice this past week, around lunch time. The restaurant was not busy, but we were told there was a 25 minute wait. We could see that the restaurant was half empty, so we asked and were told that they only had two servers on. We decided to leave. Two days later, on the way back through, we tried again, this time a bit after lunch. Again, the restaurant was empty and we were told there was a 20-25 minute wait. This time we were offered to sit at the bar, which was okay, but not ideal with two young children. The waitress at the bar was very nice and efficient, but the bar got pretty busy, as tables were 'not available'. Sitting next to us was another family of 4, with young children, tourists from Europe. Aside from that, the food was decent.

First time in this place. The service was very good, the food just médium not wow! Actually the salmon and the chicken burger were just ok to eat but the zesty chicken with Spanish rice we did not not like it at all… rice very dry seems to be old and the chicken has a weird sauce on the top, could not eat it… might come back to try something else.

Andrea, our bartender, was amazing! Great and efficient service. The food, however, was 50/50. I expected macaroni in my 2-for-$32 Mac and Cheese but was met with penne (in hindsight, the menu image shows penne yet advertises macaroni in the dish name...) as well as a bland and lackluster 'four cheese' sauce. I enjoyed the chicken tenders, though, and the artichoke dip was nice. The strawberry lemonade was refreshing, too.

It's an Applebee's, open late which is nice. Pretty generic food, wings were good but cheesy broccoli was insanely salty. Ribs were ok, chicken tender mac and cheese pretty bad. Chicken burger average. It's all just average chain food, so what you would expect. Queso nachos ok, mozzarella sticks were good. Service is good, don't clear your table though, so if you order appetizers and drinks you need to start stacking plates to make room.

Your basic franchise dining experience, lots of TVs with variety of sportscasts. We both ordered a roast beef with au just dip which was terrible- both overly salty and over-spiced, and to add insult to injury, the beef was cooked to a leathery texture. The fault lay not in the front of the house, as wait staff and management graciously addressed our concerns. The kitchen, that's what needs attention as to product preparation.

Never will I ever eat there again! Except the guy at the front door who was lovely the rest was plain awful! These were without a doubt the worst french fries i ate in my entire life! Cold! Two waitresses confirmed that my birthday dessert Was FREE. When I got the check it was added in as a charge item. Waitress said I could wait for a roving manager to remove the item charge. I didn't. French fries not quite crisp enough. Coleslaw lacking dressing. Fish okay but a bit dry. It was food. Not too expensive and enough to leave filled.

Great server, food came out hot and exactly how I ordered but as I sat and tried to enjoy my dessert in an empty restaurant at 9pm, the waitress next to my seating area (not my waitress) decided to repeatedly spray cleaner all over the bar table and chairs directly next to me. I could taste it and it was ridiculously inconsiderate. I didn't even finish. I wrote this review instead and just left. On another note, the bartender was very helpful in finding me a seat I was comfortable with. Kudos to the considerate part of the team here.

The food is always great, it's a must destination while in the USA. Meanwhile the food is superb, it always feels understaffed. Saturday night and we had to wait 30 minutes to get a table and it wasn't full, lots of empty tables. At least seat us and offer drinks or something? Obviously, the people seated after us got a waiter first!? We needed to ask for a waitress once we saw this. I can't complain about anything else, just the lack of staff or bad management. I don’t even know where to start…. The waiter (Devon) his attitude, approach and service was horrid. He was rude, and too busy drinking wine at the bar instead of serving his customers. Waiting an hour at the table, never came back to check up on us to ask if we wanted another drink. He served 3 tables whom arrived after us. We didn’t even have our meal yet and they were already finished theirs. We even asked another waiter to get his attention and come back to our table, because a table of 6 is apparently invisible. Even when he was asked to come back, he decided to go back to the bar and played with straws. So unprofessional! Joseph, the manager was understanding and didn’t argue and covered the table, however we all left not having anything to eat. I understand the service industry is suffering, but this is completely unacceptable.

Edit October 8, 2023: Management reached out to me a few days after the initial one star review to fix my experience. Today, I went to the Applebee's in Watertown and had a FANTASTIC experience! First time eating at an Applebee's and this is DEFINATELY the last time I eat at this location! My boyfriend and I arrived at 7:20pm for dinner. We were told it was a 30 minute wait. Half the restaurant was empty so we asked why such a long wait. Each server is in charge of four tables. Fair enough but there was A LOT of empty tables. We finally get a table and it's right by the bathroom. We ask to move one table over, and we were told OK. The table was super wobbly so we asked our server, Michelle B, if we can move again. And this is where it all went downhill.... Michelle started giving attitude saying we would have to go back to the front, ask the hostess to be seated in a different area. A booth across from us became available and Michelle said we could have it. My boyfriend and I were hungry and wanted to place our order. Michelle said "no. Drinks, drinks, drinks. No food." We said we were hungry and wanted to order. She repeated very rudely said, "just drinks." We placed our order and my boyfriend had questions about the size of beers and breadsticks. Michelle had ZERO patience and started talking in a condescending voice like he was five years old trying to understand the concept of breadsticks. The food took a long time considering half the restaurant was empty (70 minutes from the time we arrived.) Anytime we asked Michelle for anything (a glass, a refill, etc.. .) she talked to us through gritted teeth or a condensending voice and a fake smile. The food was excellent (I had the bourbon chicken and shrimp; my boyfriend had the chicken wings), but I didn't feel comfortable eating due to Michelle. My boyfriend was thinking of getting dessert and I told him I just want to leave. Michelle B. has got to be the WORST sever I have ever encountered!!! I worked retail for three years and had bad days, rude customers and customers with lots of questions. I was NEVER rude the way Michelle B. was!!! I'm giving one star because the food was excellent and zero stars is not an option. If only i could give negative stars to Michelle B.....

We are in town dropping our kid off for college and thought we’d try the Applebees here and placed an order for car side to go. Ordered at 5:30pm, the app stated it would be ready at 6:21, our food didn’t come out until 7:10. The biggest problem is they completely prioritize the door dash orders. Nonstop door dash drivers pull up, get their orders and leave. The staff is out frequently checking on them while there’s literally 7 cars waiting for food in the car side area, I didn’t even see an Applebees employee until I was parked for 20 minutes. We will never be coming to this location again. Another customer and I watched people literally walk in, sit down and eat and then leave with leftovers while we waited.

Every time I order Togo or take out they never do my orders right. I ask for ranch and they give me blue cheese 🤬 I ask for no dressing on my salad and they do it anyway. Get a salad and it comes with absolutely no toppings on it. I always get cold food. I don’t suggest ordering to go.

I clicked the call server button. However no one came to my table. I sat here for 15 minutes with no food. I didn’t even get an order in. Very upset, never coming back again.

The worst experience we have had at Applebees, over 20 minutes before the waitress even came to our table to take our order and the restaurant was not packed with people, secondly she never once refilled our drinks nor did she even bother to stop at our table to ask, then there was the issue with the long wait for the food, another staff walked by and it happened to be one of the managers, so I spoke up and asked what’s the hold up, she went on to say they are cooking us our 4 steak dinners like that’s is supposed to justify the long time, oh and the steaks were nearly burnt lol, we got there at 12:20, we never even got our appetizers till 1:40 around the same time as the main entrees, we did get a free appetizer but I was too mad to care lol, I normally tip the waitress but not this time nope

Service was very friendly and the atmosphere was inviting! However that was not enough to offset the HORRIBLE food. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar Salad and all I could stand to eat was the (slightly dry) chicken! The lettuce was soggy iceberg (instead of what’s supposed to be romaine), saturated in a runny, tasteless substance completely unrecognizable as Caesar dressing, without a hint of the traditional Parmesan cheese garnish. This was without a doubt the worst salad and meal I can remember being served. It is unfortunate that Applebees corporate leadership does not take more care to educate local staff on proper food prep for such a basic menu item. Despite the extremely friendly staff, I would not recommend this eatery to anyone…the kitchen is not well run. I will not visit here again and I fear it may be a long time before I visit any another Applebees since it seems as though corporate standards are slipping badly.

Father in law really wanted to go. We checked in and were told the wait was 20 to 25 min for a table. The restaurant was empty. Maybe 4 tables and the bar seated. We decided to go on the seating list. We were able to get into texas road house (25 min wait) order food and eat before Applebee's said a table was ready. I can only assume half the restaurant was probably still empty. Hopefully they figure it out or they'll be a thing of the past.

This place is either on the verge of going bankrupt or closing down. 30-40 min wait for a table when the restaurant is only at 30% capacity!! How does this make sense? Hostesses just walking around clueless basically telling customers to leave as they couldn’t seat them on empty tables, as I was waiting I was then told our wait time would be approx 1hr. How is this acceptable? Especially with 3 small kids!! As I was waiting the staff kept talking amongst themselves about how terrible their job is and jokingly stating the wait time so customers would just leave. Our waitress was friendly and apologized for the delay but did rush us to order since she said there was only 1 cook today as he leaves at 4. Food was mediocre at best. I think my boneless wings were still frozen cause they arrived really cold. Not acceptable for a place like this that used to be a community staple.

Waited about 30 minutes to just get in the restaurant, understandable since it was feb.15th. Poor service was an understatement on this one. Steak is always overcooked. Medium cooked steak has pink in the middle. Came out well done as usual. Waited 20 minutes for my second drink, whatever no big deal they're busy, understandable. I get onto the tablet thing they have there to order my girlfriend her second drink and was completely ignored. I've used the tablet for the other drinks that we ordered as well, so it's not like it wasn't working. The waiter comes to the table and asks us if we need anything else to go containers, bill, etcetera. I said to the waiter that I ordered a drink approximately 20 minutes prior that never came, and I asked to speak with the manager. The manager comes over must have already known what was going on because she took the drink off of our bill before she even arrived and proceeded to tell me the Applebee's has a strict two drink policy and that I would not be able to get said drink. The drink was for my girlfriend who only had 1 shark bowl #1, #2 Applebee's has a 3 drink max policy on their website, so the manager lied to try and make the situation better but continued to assume the drink was mine because someone told her it was mine without even asking us. The last time I checked, there was a big difference between a Long Island iced tea and a shark bowl. It was a very poor experience for us, especially since they used to be really good.

We are from Quebec and have eaten there before a while back and the food was good so on our way home from a trip we decided to stop and have dinner . There was 3 of us . My wife ordered the 6oz steak medium rare it came looking like cooked leather and tasted the same. I ordered the fish and chips. The plate arrived with the battered fish hanging over one side of the plate to hang over the other side. There was so much grease in the batter that I had to cut open the thick batter to get to the thin piece of white fish that did have a fair taste. I ate the fish and left the fried batter on the plate. The 3rd person had grilled salom that they did enjoy . I called the server over and complained and she responded ya I know. I asked for the bill payed and left. Never again .

Is not staffed properly. We were there at 5:30 on a Saturday night. There were about 20 free tables but we were told it would be a 45 min wait for 2. So we went across to 99 and got seated in 2 mins. You really need to learn to have enough serving staff on weekends.

Our server elena was the best and went out of her way to make our dining/drinking experience top notch.... the bartender though was very rude.

Well, after looking online with a 4.0 STAR review, We decided to give it a try Last weekend. Long waiting over 25 minutes but at least they had the text messages System telling you when u’re next! We sat on the table, order appetizers all good everything was fine! The chicken quesadillas were delicious! And then comes the main plate! What a disaster!! Pasta overcooked look like then been made yesterday and heated in the oven! Chicken no taste!! My sister InLaw ordered ribs and pasta! Well same thing for the pasta and the ribs…. What ribs what was that! Overall 100$ Waisted for 3 people!! NEVER AGAIN NEXT!

Took us 50 minutes just to get seated when no one was here. Everyone on break. Took us 2 hours for our appetizers then another hour for food. Just for my kid to be forgotten.

We ate lunch at Applebees in Plattsburgh, NY. Up until now, I always enjoyed eating the Oriental Chicken Salad. Today, I ordered the same salad. The vegetables were old and wilted. I got the end piece from the lettuce and the inside was black. My salad looked unappetizing; it was like someone took a bunch of old salad makings and threw them on the plate. There was nothing appetizing or tasty about it. Very disappointed. My granddaughter ordered a pasta dish with three cheeses and chicken. The food looked so bad that I offered to take her to another restaurant where we could actually eat the food. We left without eating much of the food on our plate and went to another restaurant. This was an expensive day for eating out. Never again!

Took forever for the waitress to come to us. When I got my food it was dry, barely had any sauce on it. There was a different sauce spot on my plate.. figured it got bumped by another plate or something... let that go. Then was charged for 2 extra sauces when she asked me if I wanted more. Then when my boyfriend put the rest of my food in a to go dish..(which I left there.. the bottom of my plate was covered with a red sauce. Mine was white. The manager was the only Good one out of it. He didnt charge me for my food and gave us a discount on my boyfriend's meal. His meal was fine by the way. We've been there a ton of times. It's always been a hit or miss as far as good or bad goes. Needless to say we won't be going back for quite some time if at all. I feel bad for this review because the manager was good. He had checked in on us earlier. I did tell him about how dry my food was then...

Well it was apparently thr 1st day of the so there were lots of tables, no servers. I said we would wait at the bar until some came in. But only 2 chairs a u are allowed to stand at the bar (policy). I said have done your best makes you did not get our business. We went down the street to 99 diner, lots of staff, great service, great food and prices. If you want that go to 99ers.

EMPTY RESTAURANT AND 15 MINUTES WAITING. Never going back this happens ALL the time!!! The manager of this place should be fired right on the spot!!! They have no place in any restaurant, horrible!!! Texas Roadhouse didn’t have a wait and the place was busy.

Honestly if i can give this place zero stars i will. Im a New York City Resident on vacation in this area. I walked in and was told to wait 20 minutes. I waited about 30-35 because i guess it was a change of shift. okay. Them i got seated, My waiter was Named Briana. First mistake was she brought our entrees out without even taking the appetizer plates away. Next mistake was that she messed up my Dads order by bringing him mashed potatoes instead of baked potato which he asked for and she repeated the order for. I then learned from another waiter that they were out of baked potatoes. So why didn’t Briana let him know that. Why did she assume that he would want mashed potato.. That was one flaw, she then came & after and asked if he was missing baked potato and if he wanted baked potato but then again never told us they were out of it. After that my moms food had never arrived. She ordered bourbon steak. We asked briana where her food was & she acted really surprised like she never put it in. She went to the computer and then to the kitchen but never came back to update us or apologize to us for that. I then asked another waitress for a manager and they said “sure”. Briana came & asked “what do you need from them?” i said “We’re still waiting for my moms steak” & she said “Oh” & stood to stare at us for 30 seconds and then walked away. No manager ever came. Briana ended up taking the steak off the check and as i was still eating she came and saw me still eating and asked if she can bring the check. not even picking plates up yet. just trying to get paid. 20 minutes later i got up to ask the HOST for a manager. The manager came and told me they were never informed that i needed them. The manager apologized and gave me the check. Overall this was a bad experience with bad service from all employees including the way the manager handled it. This location needs orderly structure to keep running.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They never brought our order out when it was done just left it on the counter until it got cold, got a burger and waffle fries and only got 5 waffle fries and a cold dry burger, burger was halfway off the bun just falling apart, wife got a medium rare burger and that came dry as well. Placed the order an hour ahead of time for 6pm and the food still wasn't done until 630. Definitely got some really poor inexperienced cooks back there if you can't cook a decent burger let alone fry a decent amount of fries this order alone isn't worth 15 bucks I can pay 10 bucks and get more at a McDonald's and still be just as satisfied.
