The food was pretty good. It wasn't cold or dried out. The service was rather pleasant. My only complaint would be the wait time. I stopped in for a late lunch and the restaurant wasn't busy. I still had to wait over 10 minutes for my order. I'd still go back.

The lady at the drive thru is very nice, the indoor staff however seems half clueless and half brain dead. They tend to be out of a lot of things, gravy, mayo, pickles, they even ran out of mashed potatoes yesterday! I highly suggest doing better inventory so that you can keep items in constant stock! Otherwise, food is still better than Popeyes.

KFC chicken is always good but the staff is super ghetto. Sorry but there's no other way to describe them. They have zero customer service skills, barely speaking, just pointing. F bomb dropped between employees loud enough for entire restaurant to hear, at least twice while I stood at counter. I hate going there but drive thru isn't much better and they're the closest one around.

KFC on Main Street Poughkeepsie...Yeah, not exactly a beautiful location, however the service at the drive-thru window was friendly and helpful! Unfortunately the chicken, half original, half extra crispy wasn't cooked enough, soggy, and disappointing! The biscuits were by far the worst I've ever had, flattened, bad tasting..."YUCK"!!!

The food was good as always. I love their french fries but it appears that i unknowingly ordered on a day where they were rationing fries. No joke there was like 10 fries in my order which was really upsetting because, as i stated previously i LOVE their french fries. Im still going to order from here again but it was just disappointing :\

Great fast food fried chicken, terrible service. If they ask you to park at the drive thru, don't do it, they WILL forget you exist. Just waited 15 minutes before having to go in and ask for the fries I was asked to wait 3 minutes for. I'm 5 for 5 on being completely forgotten if asked to park and wait, I even requested not to pull forward because they were likely to forget, and they still did.

The cashier barely spoke any legible English, and she was trying to take my order and that of a drive through customer. I orders an 8 piece extra crispy chicken meal. It is obviously prepackaged frozen, was greasy and too salty. They were out of fries so I had to order the instant mashed potatoes. While waiting I got 2 Nashville chicken littles. That was microwaved, and the buns are patty were hard and pretty gross.

Everytime i go to the drive through they always say come in when im sitting im my car food is good but im not going in or sitting in the car for 15 minutes for food and for the past 2 months they have been saying come in

Ordered the sandwich box and 4pc meal. Food was cold and awful. I received carbonated water instead of soda. I called the restaurant to let them know and maybe correct the mistake. To my surprise the person on the phone said she can give me a number to call to get a refund. Now Its not my fault why should i be making a bunch of calls. Now why are they delivering carbonated water to customers for Sierra mist. This is the worst service in a long time that I have received.

Service was slow and poor. The food was tasty and hot. They only had extra crispy chicken, kinda weird, but not a deal-breaker. I ordered their summertime special: BBQ chicken sandwich. It comes with bacon, cheese, fried onions, and pickles. I wanted spicy chicken, but the cashier could not and would not substitute the BBQ sauce for spicy mayo. Very frustrating. She just wouldn't put the order in for me. I asked for her to switch the sauces: NO, I can't do that. I asked for the spicy mayo on the side: NO, I can't do that. No effort. I'm sorry, but it's a simple request. I won't be coming back because of this.

This is the second time I've attempted to get food here and had to leave. They have a drive thru but any time you attempt to order on it, they tell you to come inside and order. So now I wait on line, just for them to tell me they don't have the thing I wanted in the first place! Very frustrating experience, done with this location.

Why is this place here? It should be called KFNC (Kentucky fried no chicken). 9 times out of 10 you'll have to go inside because there is an issue with taking the order at the drive thru. They don't take coupons at the drive-thru, as if they could not punch in the codes if the customer had stayed in the car. They are always out of something… usually chicken and customer service. They have manager selected business hours. They close at 10 but they should change that to 7. Okay maybe 8. No I will say 8:30. I want to be nice… Anytime after that you'd be lucky if they even pretend to know you are at the drive thru. You will then be told to come inside, they aren't dropping anymore chicken, they are out of this and that, they cant hear you, Its an absolute mess. God forbid you get there at 9:50pm. You would be admitted into a psych ward for talking to yourself. If you are lucky enough to catch them before their hourly break, I can promise you the food will be hand tossed into the box, over heated, and a half side (a regular side split into 2). I hate that my family loves chicken because this kfnc is for the birds (no pun). Popeyes down the block isn't any better. Both places you're going to pay $50 plus to feed a family of 4. Don't waste your time or your money. I found another KFC. Its a bit of a drive but for fresh food, good service, and i can use my coupon… I will take the 23 minutes drive to and from.

The chicken and fries were overcooked. The chicken was hard, dry and discolored. The over cooking made the chicken very salty.

Everyone who works at the Poughkeepsie store are as dumb as it gets. No one acts like they have a job to do. Food is typically cold and or constantly unavailable. They close at 10 but stop preparing food at 8/830 so if you want anything on the menu you better hope they still have it. This is definitely the worst kfc location I have ever been to.

I've been here twice and first time they messed up my order..also both times the young girl that takes the drive through orders with burgundy hair was extremely rude and nasty both times

Worst experience ever. Paid at 8:46pm 6/19/2020. Left with refund almost an hour later. Had to pull over because no crispy chicken. That's the norm at this location. After about 30 minutes went to the window. Guy says there's a lot of people waiting. Went back to car. Guy comes to car to look at receipt. He comes back later to say that there will be no more crispy chicken. Go to window to get refund. Manager/Supervisor informs me a bit matter of fact that they gave my order to someone else. They had no idea I was still there. Lovely system they have there, especially considering that almost everyone has to park and wait. This is almost at the hour mark. I had parked almost directly across from the drive thru window. Definitely don't recommend this place and will not be returning. 7/15/20 thank God Popeyes is back

The drive through is annoyingly slow. The wait is for ever.☹️☹️ Even staff see you through the take out window and ignores you. Very draggy and poor service. They need more smart and professional staff. Unfortunately that’s the only branch on Main Street, Poughkeepsie NY.

It’s rare that service is so bad I have to write a review. I placed a pick up order in advance so I could pick up food on my way home from NY to NJ. Every single employee working was rude and checked out and were acting like the customers’ orders were a nuisance. They also gave me the wrong order but I was in too much of a rush to get it fixed. Service is the absolute worst. Beyond slow and ridiculously filthy. Flies every where and sticky, slippery floors from all the spills. Looks like they never mop. I was just there. It is Saturday. They don't close for 2 more hours. The only chicken they had was thighs and wings...... I was told they are not making any more chicken tonight by the manager. Went to this KFC's drive-thru and ordered a 4 piece Original chicken meal with seltzer water. When I receive the order and check to see if everything is there, I only received two pieces of chicken. I tell the lady about the issue, she gives me the extra two that were missing, I drive home open the order to find that everything in the order was crispy, I hate crispy. The reason why I didn't notice that it was original was because it was dark out. I took a sip of my seltzer water, only to find out it was Sierra mist. Moral of the story, check your order before leaving.

Stopped by to pick up a $20 bucket and after I ordered one employee said they didn't take 50 or 100's because they got robbed once and another said its because someone passed a counterfeit bill. No signage stating this and they wanted me to go to the gas station next door to break it! Needless to say I left and got food elsewhere and will never go back!!!!!. I placed an order online to be delivered to my son's address for them. The order cost me over $70. They delivered an $8 order. I tried and tried to call (from work, mind you). Got hung up on twice. The employees were extremely rude and actually put the phone down while they were taking other orders. I was sitting there for over 10 min's on the phone and then hung up on again! I called back and the employee barked at me that they picked up the order. She wouldn't confirm the address to where it was going, but did say it was for two $30 buckets. Then slammed down the phone on me!!!! I will NEVER EVER order from them again. The last time I did order, awhile ago, I wound up right after getting an alert that I was charged a large amount for something else.

I’ve never been to such an unprofessional workplace let alone fast food restaurant. 45 minutes to mess up a $60 order. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The disgusting inside looks like it has not been cleaned in years and the staff is slow and rude. My next step will be filing a complaint with corporate and the Better Business Bureau for the horrible service.

My food was completely incorrect. Half of the stuff I ordered was missing and WE STILL PAID $34. There was no drinks, did not even give us the water we were supposed to get.

The woman taking my order asked if I wanted original Or crispy, assuming that was one of the options the meal came with, I said crispy. she then preceded to tell me there was no drinks, that was fine. I have never been to a fast food chain where each and every crew member was rude & extremely unprofessional...2 crew member where yelling at me thur the head phone while I was trying to order. The drive thur menu was lit up and it was dark and after 8pm had to ask them to put the light on and they had the nerve to get upset. Forgot to give me my soda so had to ask and again rude I was told I had to wait she only 1 person, yes this is true but I waited 2 -3 mins at the window before asking. No napkins the older lady at drive thur needs to retire she is very mean & rude 😒 these crew members need to learn how to speak to paying costumers.. I can honestly say I won't be going back there anytime soon I'll drive to Wappingers instead.

If you put in a mobile order. They mark is as complete but they don't start it till your there. So poorly staffed. They tell drive threw customers they need to come inside. Right before Christmas, my wife and I ate from here, and my wife got soooooo sick! She had to call out of work, and she was sick on Christmas DAY!!! I am pretty sure it was the Norovirus. Never ever again will we eat from there! I saw a few comments back that the older black lady with the accent that worked there passes away. My condolences to her family and loved ones. She definitely kept that place running properly!!!!

i went there once there was no sauces no ice and the drinks didnt even taste good and there was barely any carbonation and the drinks didnt even was warm and the food was raw and the chicken sandwiches were just oily there was a lot of oil on the chicken it made my stomach hurt. The guys behind the counter look flustered and confused.remember why I stopped going to this location and drive 20 minutes away to fishkill which is organized and quick.

They used to have this African lady there, But she passed away some months ago. She kept everything going the way it’s supposed to go now Kentucky fried chicken place on Main Street in Poughkeepsie across from Wendy’s is going to hell, there was a young lady I came to pick up food for a customer. I asked her how long it would be. She told me I don’t know nasty. I waited for a little while and went and asked her again. Absolute crazy. I went through the drive through and was asked to pull forward they would bring my food right now. Ok, no problem. Food always tastes good however, the service is all over the place. Last two times I ordered I had to repeat my order to three different people, because they kept switching places and talking over each other thru the speaker. Most recent and last time Im coming to this location. I got switch around again between employees while ordering and then after giving my full order they told me “never mind you need to get out and come inside” like what?! What was the issue?! I had a newborn sleeping in the car. Completely unprofessional from the start.

I showed up to the drive-thru at 9:30pm on a Sunday. They're advertised to close at 11. The seating area was empty, and I was the only customer. They told me it would be a 30 minute wait for chicken. There have been other times where the service was either rude or just blunt, but at least I got my food so I never cared, but this finally verifies why I never see anybody else there when I went. I'm surprised they aren't closed. Go to the Popeyes half a mile up the street. The service is faster and nicer at the very least.

Everytime I come here the food takes way too long to come out. I waited 35 mins for a famous bowl. Wasted The entirety of my 30 mins lunch from work. The people that work here have no hustle or motivation or consideration for that matter.

My husband is handicapped muscular dystrophy drives with handbrakes he went through the drive-thru and was told that he had to come into the store he told them that he was handicapped he also has the handicap plaque in the window and he was told that he needed to come into the store he had to leave I am livid. I tried calling the store several times to speak to a manager and you cannot get through on the phone.

Cars were waiting a long time in the drive through until someone got out of their car and knocked on the window. An employee said they were not taking orders from the drive through, however there was no sign or any indication of this causing customers to wait an eternity just to not be able to place their orders. After this I still gave them a chance and walked inside to place my order. All the customers were sitting waiting for food. I waited to order 10+ minutes, with no one infront of me. I finally asked a worker if they were accepting orders. She responded with an attitude "you will have to give us a minute". I already gave them 30 minutes of my time. I just walked out and saw that there were still cars waiting at the drive though to not have their orders taken because there was still no indication it was closed. Save yourself the trouble and just go to Wendy's across the street. They took my order and made my food, in less than 5 minutes I was driving away. Horrible horrible location to go along with horrible employees.

The staff at this location is horrendous. I have tried to pick up food here multiple times as an Uber Eats driver. It is the restaurant’s job to update the app when they run out of an item, so a person cannot order it. One time I got there and the said they are out of chicken. I had two orders to pick up there the other day. I drove 20 minutes to get there and when I did they told me they don’t have any of the items so I have to cancel both orders. I wasted my time and gas money and the customer also did not receive what they ordered. This happens a lot within an hour of closing time which makes me think they have the food but just say this to avoid having to cook it. I will never accept a trip to there again on the app. The place is also filthy so I wouldn’t trust eating anything from here.

Let me start out this review by saying we actually haven’t ate here in over 8 months. Because the last time, it was horrible service and horrible food. Today we decided to give it another try it was already late. We went there around 8:30pm, they don’t close until 10:30pm. We asked for a family meal and the lady on the intercom comes back and says they only have 4 pieces of chicken. I said it’s only 8:30pm and she repeats herself, we only have 4 pieces of chicken left. No offer of making more. Nothing. So I thanked them and left. How this location is still open is surprising! You would think around the holidays they would want to make sure they had enough food. Especially for the late shoppers. Plus the cost of the food is astronomical! It would’ve been a $60 meal! Needless to say we won’t be going back here again!

I placed an order online for a breast and Wing combo. Ended up getting a leg and thigh combo which basically means I paid over $20 to eat a biscuit and mashed potatoes doordash only offered me a refund of $3.61 for an order that was completely wrong and when I called this restaurant no one picks up the phone and then asked me to put in a code. So basically I got screwed out of my money and didn't get the food that I ordered

I recently moved here, tried this kfc twice. Once an hour before closing, I placed an order through the app, it said it was ready for pick up, when I got there, the guy on the mic in the drive through said they’re sold out. They’re out of chicken and they closed. The 2nd time, I placed an order, the app said it was ready, I got there 10 minutes after it said it was ready, and I’m still waiting for it as I write this review… customer service here is awful, employees don’t seem to care at all about the customers or their own jobs for that matter.

Everything disgusting. Roaches living inside of the landline phone. They don’t delete anybody’s IDs or Social security cards off the computer that has NO password. It really smells like straight booboo if you walk in far enough. They smoke cigarettes barely out of the back door. Attitudes nasty, food nastier. May be the other way around tbh. Either way. I don’t understand how they’re still up and running tbh.

Place is a little dirty, and I can't count the number of times I would go in to get a breast or thigh and be told they have no more for (20? 30? 40?) minutes. BEFORE 8 pm. Despite that, I kept going back, hooked on Colonel's spices. What finally got me to give it up is that this store would automatically round up your bill to an even amount, and give that to the KFC charity without asking. This happened several times on drive through (a 9.15 bill got rounded up to $10, which was the first time this happened and I didn't notice until getting home), and the workers faked not knowing what happened. Then one time, I went inside, and the same thing happened, and the girl refused to give me back my money until I raised enough of a complaint (5+ minutes later) saying she couldn't go back in the drawer again, and why am I complaining about 50 cents? More like, why are you automatically charging me 50cents extra without asking me? I complained twice to national. The second time, I included my email and phone number, checked the part that said I would like to have someone contact me and included in the comments that I would like someone to get back to me. No one did, so I've stopped going to KFC, but especially this one. I've eaten before at the KFC on 376 in Hopewell, and it is much cleaner, friendlier, and didn't have the auto-roundup. But, thanks to the shady operations of Poughkeepsie KFC and lack of concern from national, I won't be going to any of them.

Arrived to the drive up around 7PM. Nobody else in line. Placed my 2 piece drum & a thigh please. Sorry, we have no legs. Ok, 2 thighs then. Does it come with a biscuit? Sorry, no biscuits for 12 minutes. Ok, I’ll pull aside & wait the 12 minutes. Watched the clock, gave them 13 minutes drove back to drive up. Sorry, you have to come inside. 😳 Save yourself some grief, there’s a Popeyes right around the corner & their chicken is great & service is respectable.

That was my first and last KFC I could not believe it. The oil was old and tasted bad . The chicken tasted horrible. I wasted over $40 on 16 pieces. However, customer service was excellent, and the service was great and quick. I am sorry to say it, I will never have KFC in my life.

An overstressed staff doing the best with what they have. My one star rating is because I just heard the manager tell someone their order would take 25 minutes and when the woman said she would wait another manager who was out back smoking weed yelled “!!!KCUF” about as loud as humanly possible. I also don’t like how on a Sunday they are open until 10pm but at 9pm they’re virtually clocked out and out back smoking with the door wide open out back for bugs to enter and exit as they wish. I type this as I wait for a very simple order which doesn’t even see them do anything other than grab a cup and fries yet it’s been 10 minutes so I decided to save the next person. I wish this place would fire its entire staff because these people don’t want to REALLY work, I mean the cross eyed manager has been there for a decade, bro should be in corporate yet he’s still here being average or less consistently. I want better for him and I don’t even know him other than his name is sincere or something to that effect? For a company who has fallen from grace the way KFC has this is inexcusable and the employees are easily frustrated and show it to customers by yelling and being rude. It seems like they purposely make you wait forever for your orders here to basically discourage people from coming. I don’t think the staff realizes most employees don’t want lazy employees but hey maybe if all else fails they can trade their jerseys in for a new one at McDonald’s on Main Street which is an equally garbage place food wise but the workers at least try to pretend to not be jerks. Another 5 minutes has elapsed & at this point I will make it my goal to reach out to someone in corporate because this place is a mess and embarrassing to the colonels legacy of decent fast food and I saw that as a tongue in cheek joke of sorts but NOT REALLY.

No words. I have gotten sick here more than 2 times and I see why. Thanks to a close friend they showed me why I kept getting sick. Just said. Every think twice before going there.

On 10/11/21 at approximately 8:00pm, I ordered their 6-piece Honey BBQ wings and waited 7 minutes for my food. The wings tasted like microwaved Tyson prison wings. It was old, soggy, and generally inedible. I was assured a refund when I called. When I drove 10 minutes back to KFC to return this order, the manager was rude! In a hostile demeanor, she asked what is wrong with my order. I explained how distasteful the wings were and in an accusatory tone, she told me this is as fresh as their wings get and theres no way it should taste stale. She then closed the window and prepared to process my refund. She was unapologetic and did not offer an accommodation. I would not recommend this location due to the food and manager being nasty!
