My husband & friends went here for taco Tuesday and they wouldn’t shut up about how good they were (pork belly, Korean bbq beef, shrimp tempura & seared Ahi tacos) He said the atmosphere was pumping, margs were bomb and everyone kept ordering more tacos because they were THAT good! Personally I’m excited about the shrimp tempura tacos…..now I just have to wait a whole 5 days for TT to come around again! Can’t wait!!

We are newer to town and wanted to try a new brunch spot to replace our go to spot in our old town. Everyone from the hostess to the waitress/ manager(Gina) and even the chef(Mike) were extremely friendly and accommodating( I have food allergies) . The atmosphere was beautiful as well. We will definitely go again and try their dinner menu, as well as check out their other restaurants in town.

My husband and I recently had dinner and drinks for a date night and everything was amazing. The live music was lively, service at the bar was prompt, and the food was great. I had the smash burger and it is my new favorite. 10/10!

We had family in town and brought them to the shack for an amazing dinner last night. The food was beyond amazing! I had the special, which was a seafood risotto, and it was fantastic. All the dishes looked as great as they tasted and the chef was super nice and accommodating. Oh and the Brussel sprouts, cooked to perfection, highly recommend!!!

WE finally got to try this place out! Ordered the salmon and the filet... OMG both were so good. It is hard to cook salmon perfectly and I am very picky but I ate the whole thing... the portions were spot on as well. I didn't leave hungry but I wish we had saved room for dessert. We also ordered some drinks and the bartender was extremely friendly and funny, plus he made bomb drinks. I definitely want to have a membership here and I am excited to see what they have in the works for summer on the patio!

Had a last minute stay in Redding and found this gem. Wonderful service (thank you Ginger and the bartender whose name I forgot already) and great food! They were so accommodating and sweet. We loved our whole experience. Great job!

Had the best pulled pork sandwich in Redding here and my wife enjoyed one of the best, surprisingly rare, Bahama Momma drinks.

EDIT: What a response... 5 STARS will be back for more! The bartender makes a pretty good old fashioned. Only thing it's missing is the large ice cube. That's the key.. it sounds simple but it makes a big difference in presentation and flavor. Also makes a drink that tastes like cheesecake... Dunno how but it's good. I'd get hammered on them quickly.

I heard of the Shack online and made a trip the next day to give it a try. My wife had the Prime Dip & I had the Ribeye open face d sandwich with fries. The service & food was amazing! The BEST food I’ve had in a LONG time! Went here for a date night and had the chicken parm with a side of fried mushrooms. SO AMAZING!! Also, the Bloody Mary I had was perfect! Chef Bobby is ON POINT!! We are already planning on going back!!

The breakfast was amazing. I ordered the Shack special and my over medium eggs were cooked perfectly! The country potatoes were great too. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and it was the best he has ever had. The chicken was tender and fried to perfection. We will be back! Excited to try lunch and dinner there. Also looking forward to live bands on the patio this spring. I can’t believe it took us this long to give the Shack a try.

Visited The Shack for the first time this week and fell in love with the Bacon Mac & Cheese. I took my daughter there last night so she could try it and we had such an amazing experience, I had to write a review. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and having the owner come out and interact with my daughter and dance around and be silly with her made our entire night. We had no idea it was not just another customer having a great evening. He offered my little girl a drink of her choice and respectfully asked my permission first. It was a wholesome, family friendly, full of laughs experience for just picking up to-go food. Thank you for making our night! We will absolutely be back to support.

I've been to this place multiple times for the amazing bacon mac and cheese, and every time we are greeted with a new act of kindness 🥹 I wish I had caught her name, but the sweet little brunette girl at the front that took our to-go order made our entire week. Last time it was the owner himself. Good customer service alone is hard to find these days, but those that go the extra mile to make each customer smile and feel special is something I have not seen anywhere else! Thank you for your awesome food and staff!!!

This was a fun vibe with friendly staff and patrons. My son ordered the special, which was a grilled chicken sandwich. He said it was better than some of the other nearby food venues. I ordered a small plate of fettuccine alfredo and house salad. It was delicious and couldn't beat the price! We will definitely be back!

Easily the best food and service I’ve had in Shasta county in a long time. No matter the situation they’ve always taken care of any request we’ve had. We love it, the kids love it, and it’s a fantastic place for get togethers with loved ones.

Met some friends here last weekend for dinner. Met up in the bar. The bartender made one of the best drinks I ever had. I just told her what I liked and she mixed something up. Moved out on the patio for dinner. There was a band playing. We had a cute little blonde waitress, that actually look like she was the only one working on the patio and it was completely full. Still got wonderful service. Impressed 😁 Great atmosphere. Well definitely be coming back

I enjoyed the atmosphere. The waiter was awesome. The burger and fries were the best, especially the fries!!!, and so were the broasted loaded potato appetizer w/ the sour cream sauce. The Shack is back with a great menu and great food. Everything we had at our table was delicious! This included the Lemon Chicken Penne, Homemade Bacon Mac & Cheese, Ribeye Sandwich, and Broaster Chicken. Our waitress said this is still their soft opening and the will be expanding their menu. Their current menu is attached with their hours. This will be a regular go-to when I come to Redding to visit family.

They specialize in a members only cigar patio and fine dining experience which for 99-249 a month you can sit in the private dining room or the smoking patio. The bar is open for dining and drinks to the public. All staff are very helpful and happy to be there. The menu is classed up bar food for now. Excited for when full course dinners happen. Try it but be patient during busy times. ;)

This place is known for its 5star food and customer service with a fully stocked bar and also many different wines to choose from not to forget to mention but the food is some of the best in Redding california I definitely rank this restaurant Top 1 0 in Redding ca.

We always enjoy eating here. The service is always great, the food is always good and just how we order it. The atmosphere is cozy, usually a little cold for my liking but I just where a sweater. Their Chef is always sure to get fresh ingredients and isn't afraid to try new things.

Pretty good spot. Great ambiance, kinda reminded me of a steakhouse or pub. Food was pretty good and service was pretty good. A little wait time but we did come at an odd time.

Everyone was happy with the food they ordered and the waitress was friendly. The bar area was very loud which definitely carried over into the back of the restaurant. Would still eat here again.

The server/bartender/hostess was great, very attentive and clearly knew how to multitask without making us feel rushed or ignored. They were out of a lot of items, which is a sign of our current world situation, along with holiday parties. They did offer alternatives which were not on the menu which we really enjoyed. My one takeaway is be open minded and enjoy the experience. We would like to come back to try brunch and the patio. There was someone we think was helping but not dressed to work (colorful yoga pants and a sweatshirt with a saying on it) help is help, but threw us off for the price point of the menu.

Let me start with saying we had a gift card which encouraged us to have a meal there so an early Mother’s Day dinner. The bar had a few people at the bar and a couple at the table. We were taken to the dining room and we were the only people there. We were given menus and ordered in a few minutes of being seated. Our food came out before our drinks! I was a bit disappointed and only had the one. We had water, but nothing else. Our food was hot and tasty my fiancé had a patty melt and I had a bacon cheeseburger. Both meals were made to order and came out fresh and hot. I may sit in the bar area next time so my drinks are not forgotten.

Can't comment on the food yet but the ambiance was great. The outside patio looked super cool and my drink was delicious.

The wings were so good, I woke up the next day craving them. Cocktails were mid. Bartender didn't know how to shake an egg white into a whiskey sour, which is kinda embarrassing when you are marketing your place as a classy cigar lounge. Bartender wouldn't respond to friendly banter either, more interested in talking over me to hold a conversation with the regulars at the end of the bar.

Nice place. Our bartender was fantastic! If it wasn't for her and the food I would have gotten ven a worse review. I can't remember her name but she has a tattoo of a skull on her hand and she rocked. They seemed under staffed at the bar area so she was hustling. At one point I think I heard her ask for help from the wait staff and she didn't get it. Once we sat at out table for dinner it took awhile for our server to come over, they only had a few tables few at time so I wasn't sure why it took so long. Once she should up, she took our drink and food order. It took some time to mine and my wifes drinks but our friends drinks were served faster. They brought out our friends plates and ten minutes went by before our server tells us our order was never placed and if we would like something off the bar menu. We told her no and to have to hurry are order. I mean I had a med rare steak and my wife had scallops, how long does that really take.... The food was very good but they do have some work to in the service area. For what they charge, service should be much better than it is. Hope they iron out those bugs.

Very loud. The acoustics in the bar are terrible. Good service. The bartender was efficient and friendly. We enjoyed our food except for the green bean and kidney bean in the side salad.

Food is good. Service, once you’ve let them know (was in patio area) you exist they’re relatively attentive. I know I’m old but no one who bartended seems to know what a neat drink is. Couple of times I asked for whiskey neat & it cane with ice.

Oh gosh, it had NOTHING to do with the 10% off. Our waitress was wonderful, kind, and patient. My buddy had the old fashion (AMAZING, would recommend), drinks took a minute, which i understand with the bar tender making them and then personally delivering them. It was the cold fries, super oly mac & cheese. The elote covered in sauce but no cob holders and having to use a knife but giving up and using your hands and the strange formaldehyde smell. Anyone who is interested in going, I would recommend enjoying the bar with the large drink selection and the wonderful company of the wait staff, but maybe eat beforehand.

Rachel was the only one that paid attention to us if you're not setting at the bar. Then your non existence. Rachel was always on the spot. Unfortunately, she started at 4 o'clock. The parking lot is extremely dark and the entry door is hard to find and also very dark. The decor is heavy and dark. I guess they're going for "moody," but it just felt sad. The side salad was inedible frozen brown lettuce. The pasta primavera was barely warm and had a few small pieces of vegetables with penne and a sauce that I really think came out of a jar with no extra seasoning. We also had fried mushrooms and they were very good. The waitress seemed very inexperienced and not knowledgeable about the menu.

The food was okay. The server was great (I honestly felt bad for her), but the food took 2 hours to get. My mashed potatoes were cold and didn't taste very garlicky when I did finally get them. They forgot to do my husband's order, so they had to make it after everyone was already eating and got it when we were all done eating. They forgot to add some elements to his meal that were supposed to be on it (according to the menu), but because we waited so long, we weren't about to complain about it. Overall, it was not the greatest experience. Their patio is nice, but waiting that long for food that was just "okay" and cold or wrong is a waste. We had places to be.

Our waiter was super friendly, but everything else felt off. A women (I assume she owns the restaurant) knelt down by our table, and got uncomfortably close to us and kept asking us how the food was and if we were enjoying our time there. I mean, normally that's fine, but she wouldn't leave, and it felt very intrusive, especially with long pauses. We obviously weren't enjoying the conversation and yet she lingered. Then came time to order. If you drink, there are tons of alcohol choices. I don't drink much, so I inquired about a blended non alcoholic drink. They informed me they don't serve any blended drinks. Then the dinner menu only has 3 items to order. I understand nicer restaurants usually have smaller menus, but three choices seemed like very little option. The food was okay, but not spectacular as the lady kneeling at the table told me it was. Anyway, goof wait staff saves this experience for me, but I won't be back. If you enjoy a trendy bar, this is the place for you.

Patio nice atmosphere Cody the DJ was there he was great greated you said hi. Drinks arrived on time . Dinner came just about right after enjoying patio and drinks. Had water to help your self on patio very nice as I like plenty of water. I thought odd you cannot get a baked potato with prime rib. So ordered garlic mashed which were cold when arrived meat was ok broccoli was great. Overall for price wasn't impressed with meal. Not much parking at location have to park across street.

As much as I wanted to like this Redding staple, I could not. The burger was lackluster and the fried zucchini order was incredibly small for the price. And weirdly, my iced tea glass was super small, too. The ranch was good, though

Drinks were good but the food was terrible. Salad came out after all of us were done with our food so one of my friends didn’t even eat at the restaurant. Most of our dishes were cold and one was not even edible. The wait staff was very embarrassed with the food and visibly frustrated with the cook.

The half chicken meal gave me food poisoning, one of the pieces was pink in the middle.. was told by what I assume to be the manager that it wasn’t but we did receive a refund for a bit off the meal at least. Our waiters were nice but that was about the only plus. Nonetheless the food made me very ill

I don't know how to state this, I've been staring at this screen for minutes now. I had no expectations coming here, I hadn't heard about it, just kept seeing it driving by and wanted to try a new place. The food was really bad, simple things too, like not changing the fryer oil, not seasoning the food with salt/pepp and serving soggy fries... the service was slightly better but unprofessional. I'd love to offer you my services, I'm a 3 time culinary grad. Owners feel free to contact me.

The food is solidly "meh." Ordered the Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon. It's basically slightly undercooked noodles with butter and bacon crumbles. Asked if it was possible to order a side of the garlic mashed potatoes. Apparently this was a very difficult thing to ask. Server seemed genuinely flummoxed. Pros: Drinks were good. Cons: Food is okay. Not great. Not good. Just okay. Service is...not good. (All the bartenders spend a considerable amount of time scanning the television channels to find something to watch, so that's something.) The place wasn't busy and it took forever to get extra drink orders in. Asked to order dessert and was told that churros were the only option. Okay, churros it is! (Order for churros wound up never actually being put in.) Might go back for drinks. But that's only because the hotel we stay at is literally next door. Skip it. There are other better places within walking distance.

Not great. Hair in my sandwich but I caught it before I bit into it. Asked for mushrooms on the side as my husband and I were sharing meals and he doesn't like them. They were all mixed in the sandwich. Asked for a side salad and received fries. So someone wasn't paying attention at all. The fryer was clearly not at the right temp as all the fries were limp, soggy, and filled with grease. It says A LOT about the owner that they only respond to good reviews.

Went there for a friend’s birthday lunch. My friend ordered a burger w/o cheese, it came with cheese. It took about 30 minutes later for it to get there. There was no lettuce, it was a plain burger. She had to ask for the lettuce. It took 45 minutes for my order to get there. I asked for my patty to be medium rare. It came dripping out blood, I don’t think it was a med. rare. It was so late I just brought it home and cooked it to medium rare. I don’t remember ever getting such lousy service and food. I DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE.

Went for Valentine’s Day lunch. 11:30. Was one of the worst lunches I have had and that’s bad. Husband had tri tip dip so tough and full of fat couldn’t eat it. Took it home to dog. Fry’s were from last night I am sure microwaved and soggy. Couldn’t eat those either. I ordered a bbq bacon burger can say was a good burger. Could not eat my fries. Husband had ice tea Was awful. I did have good Diet Coke. Left tip for the waitress not her fault. WE WILL NOT GO BACK. Nothing LIKE OLD SHACK. NOT EVEN CLOSE.

I didn’t want to give this horrible place a star but I had to do a review. The cook looked high and served us over cooked dried chicken. Part of our salad had moldy lettuce and cheese. Let’s not forget about how the bartender was tipsy. I will never eat here again.

We are staying in redding for the night and chose this place. BIG MISTAKE! We were told to seat ourselves a d we sat and no one tended bonus for 12 mins. The server was running to every table competently but totally ignored us. I will never set foot into that place again. Happened on 3/6/25

For Bar Owner: I had high expectations for this place. Food and drinks looked great online. Terrible and unwelcoming approach from your bartender, the older gentleman with the beard with grey hair. Very abrasive, combative, argumentative, confrontational and rude. Planned to come for dinner. Stayed for a water and left with a group of 10 people.

My Mac n cheese looked like soup. It was swimming in grease. The steak on it was full of fat! The steak sandwich was 1 piece of toast and a steak. That's it. The salad was shredded lettuce. The service was poor. We literally sat for 20 mins. before anyone even acknowledged us. There's no way I would ever go there again. What a waste of money and time.

the cocktails were great however they took an extremely long time to get to the table despite at least 5 staff members standing around in the vicinity. we also ordered the korean beef tacos and pork belly tacos, love the preperation and flavors but they were incredibly tough and dry, i could only eat one. i know they just opened so i hope they're able to get it together but for now i wouldnt waste your money.

Took 20min to get our drinks. Ordered the sliders and they legit came out on cold Hawaiian rolls and the meat was tough and over cooked. The avocado tater tots were served as a total of 5 and soggy! The ahi was poor quality and just doused in sauce. Very dissatisfied. Only saving grace was our kind waitress. Will not return.

We got there at 2 and there was an empty can of beer and a water. It wasn’t busy at all, we chose outdoor seating and there were plenty of empty tables. We didn’t get a waitress for a while, so my boyfriend had to go inside and get someone’s attention. Finally, the waitress arrived and gave us waters, then we waited about 15 more minutes before she came back to ask us what we wanted to eat. We waited almost an hour for a burger and a salad. When the food arrived, I didn’t get all 6 shrimp that the menu had said would be on there, and the waitress didn’t ask what dressing I wanted, and didn’t give my boyfriend any dips for his fries. We were pretty disappointed with our food and service, since we had waited a while to eat.

Had the Saint Patrick's day special which was the Shepard's pie and it turns out I spent $18 on the worst mashed potatoes I've ever had, the ratio to mash to meat and veggies was ridiculous and the servers didn't even care that I didn't eat it. Never going there again I swear, suggest others stay away as well!

Food was disgusting. Atmosphere was very dull. Service was horrible. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

Dark and dingy. I moved here earlier this year and read this place had been remodled and now open. * first clue remodled) after working years in hospitality / food & beverage most establishments that go through this are usually done because of poor restaurant maintenance. Not that thats exactly what happen its my assumption. But as always i wanted to give it a try. I had attempted to eat here a month or so back, but when i arrive the dark exterior and vacant parking lot made me change my mind. But, i googled brunch on Sunday and they popped up. Ok, this may be do-able. NOT, there is no brunch here it's basically a chicken, burger place. Upon entering there was a strong smell of fish and i dont mean fresh fish. Again the dark and digy is extended to the interior, and the smell , Yeesh! After looking around, because no one was there to greet or seat me. A bar is there as you enter. The bar is definitely the main focal point. The place was pretty vacant and out of no where a guy comes out and asks how many 😁, just 1. He seats me in a different room than the bar, As i open the menue i make a chicken dish selection. I sit as i wait for the guy to pop back up. He takes my order and off he goes. I think he may have either been the bartender or a kitchen staffer. Dude gets an A for effort. Now my food comes, side salad has all the ingredients finely chopped in different little piles. The mash potatoes looked as if the night before baked potatoes were saved reused to make garlic mash. They were molded in to this weird round blob the outside was dry and all very unappetizing. So i didn't mess with that. The chicken which is overly dark brown was the driest leg and thigh ive ever had . This as well appeared as if it was just reheated to a point of almost burnt. Again. This was in no way good or even acceptable. Then i sat around for dude to pop up again to get the check and run. After clearing my check. And tipping( regardless, tipping is part of their assumed pay, so i tip). As i exited i see a DJ and a crowd at the bar. This at best is a Dive Bar, ( which i am a fan of) but the food is horrible. It may have great drinks and all the stuff a great dive has but food is sub par. All this time i wanted to go there. And its a great disappointment. I wont go back

10.31.2025 The owners exibit abominable behavior to the cystomers by saying the restaurant is open for business. There is virtually no food in the kitchen to be prepped and servered while the owners insist that the customers owe them full price for scraps. A total of 3 substandard hamburger patties were available for the customers. No french fries. A ceasar salad without romaine or ceasar dressing or the optional chicken or shrimp. Mac and cheese with bacon but there is no mac or bacon. Absolutely bizarre conditions. Then owners should be castigated and shunned. They don't deserve a oermit to be in the food industry.

Poured wine into decanter, no wine glass while fighting with another person, then put order in incorrectly. Food was dismal. Was credited for it since I couldn't eat it which was appreciated. Never ever will return.

The waitress was pleasant enough but didn’t know what she was doing. The salad dressing was the worse tasting and we all tried 4 different types, ridiculous!!

The few times I’ve eaten here it was mediocre decided to try the steak on DoorDash at 8:30 (they close at 9 but accept DoorDash until 8:40) they confirmed the order I waited for 15 minutes the dasher got there sat in the lobby for a few minutes then as they were closing they said there system is closed and had to cancel the order after confirming the order on door dash and wasting the dasher and my time. Horrible service.
