Mikey was our server and was a total rockstar! The Legendary BBQ Honey Chicken SuperMelt was actually legendary, and the timing and service was unlike any other experience i ever had at a Friendlys before! keep up the great work!!

We had a really fun time at Friendlys for the first time in almost 20 years! We brought our 3 year old daughter and everything is exactly as we remembered! The food is just as it was, the legendary honey bbq sandwich brought back high school nostalgia! Jules our waitress was a sweetheart and a hard worker! I was happy to see the restaurant was lively on a Friday night! Will definitely be back!

I haven't been to friendlys in years so my Aunt and I stopped in for lunch. I had a burger which was very good and for $13.99 it came with fries and a happy ending Sundae, can't beat that! The waitress was very kind and attentive and it was clean. I'll definitely come again!

Can’t complain pretty consent with the food.

I've been here many times before or after a movie at the nearby Lowe's and it's always been satisfying - that was back when I was a carefree graduate student. I just returned home after a great evening there with my wife and 8 year old child. The food was very good - I had the honey BBQ bacon chicken SuperMelt, my wife the Philly Cheese SuperMelt, and my son the Smashed burger. We all enjoyed our food including the Moz sticks appetizer and New England clam chowder. The server, Michael P, was cheerfully bright, impeccably polite, and could establish a warm connection with just about anyone! He need the photo of the Hudson River on our credit card and inquired about our hiking experiences, and suggested a nice place next time we went. He reminded me of someone from the 1950s in his polite manners yet he was likely no more than 20 years old! As I wrote earlier, I've eaten here before and haven't felt a need to write a review. After tonight's experience, I felt compelled to call him out as he was a key part of our very positive experience.

Mike was hands down the BEST waiter I have ever had! He was attentive, polite and I can’t thank him enough for a good experience. I don’t get a lot of alone time with my daughter so coming here and having such a good experience made our time together that much more special! It’s not about what you do, but how you make people feel that really goes a long way!

Came in on a Friday night after, a terrible day at the hospital ordered the new dorito cool ranch cheese burger everything was delicious down from the appetizer , entree to the dessert , even the drinks made our day soo much better. The service was phenomenal always kept checking on us making sure the food was good despite being busy and not only us but everyone he served. Doesn't compare to any other Friendly's I've ever been too (coram, shirley) makes sense their closing and not this one. Dear corporate don't close this Friendly's this one is a gem.

I get takeout ice cream a lot and tonight Brianna helped me I got the lava hunka chunk of lava ice cream and it was awesome she made it so perfect and it was just delicious. No not only Brianna but everybody there is great when I go to the takeout window for ice cream.

In response to H’s review of the stony Brook friendly’s, I heard the whole exchange, her group was told they had to wait for their party to arrive before being seated. The two people that were seated before them is because H’s whole party was not there yet. Once their party was all there they had to wait due to only having 2 servers and had a party of 20 that they were waiting on and cooking for. The manager in question was doing what she was supposed to do. She was extremely busy cooking for the party of 20. H was extremely rude the entire time while the employees were just doing their job and not rude in the slightest. We frequent the restaurant and have never had an issue dining in or take out. Never had an issue with having to wait.

Still lookin for value? Look no further, family of 4 2 adults 2 kids, we all had a meal and dessert with a generous fifteen dollar tip for under 80 bucks! Food was decent and ice cream and service was great!

This was one of the best ever experiences I've had ever at a Friendly's!!! The staff at this location were extremely nice & accommodating, since we were there with a very spunky 2 year old. Had a great experience at friendlys for take out here in stony Brook, I ordered a Turkey club melt sandwich and a strawberry fribble, it was delicious, people have mentioned the staff being rude at the counter, but I don’t think people realize how tough a job like that can be at times, I try to be more understanding, the girl there wasn’t rude to me at all but I could tell she wasn’t happy, so I commend the young girl at the desk for doing the best she can, will be back soon

I frequently go to one of the last Friendly's which is located in Stony Brook NY. I used the app to place my order and I arrived at time specified and everything was ready, fresh and delicious. We bought some hot food and of course sundaes. Everything was perfectly prepared and the take out/pick up staff is always very nice. I've never tried delivery but they offer that as well. Please go visit our last Friendly's location because it's a great place for comfort food and of course ice cream. I'm hoping this location never closes.

The kids that work here are fun and enthusiastic. Great ice'cream. The black raspberry has never changed its recipe. Absolutely love it!

Stopped in for some lunch with the Mrs, Joanne served us with excellent hospitality, saved some money off the senior citizens menu . Arrived with a group of 10 - including 6 young, hyped-up children (and 4 exhausted Moms)- and everything went great! There was no wait, in fact they even seated us before the whole party arrived instead of making us wait. Our host and server were super "friendly" 😉 and on top of all our needs. Everything was clean and organized. We didn't have to wait to order, all the food came out quickly and everything was correct and tasted good. I especially love the waffle fries. The Ice cream was delicious of course (and was included in most of our meals too.) The kids got fun themed kids sundaes (3 choices) with cotton candy ice cream and lots of toppings. The best part was that somehow we even left with still 6 happy kids, AND the reasonable check meant Happy grown-ups. The whole team at Friendly's was great and I'd definitely come back here again!

Every dish is tasty! Portion size is right to the price. Kids friendly and it’s a good deal with the dessert included. Atmosphere is quite relaxed, the bench supports look a bit greasy and wish the serving speed could be a bit faster. Will probably visit again.

I went for the brisket grilled cheese I saw on the website but was told they didn't have that, the very nice waitress advised me to get the short rib grilled cheese instead, it was delicious but as we laughed about the tater thing not being a potato as I thought, but probably a better idea then the whole tot smashed on the bread, but like I said it was still delicious & I took my sundae home, which did not disappoint. I believe the waitress will be a great nurse, good luck!😉I hope you get the grilled cheese brisket in soon

A few hours later, I got a call and the employee Tina explained to me what happened~. She made a refund. Days later I went to the place and I was very well attended, the food was great! ~~~~ Worst experience ever! I ordered online and filled with the right address but when they sent me the doordash tracking link I found out that the address was wrong. I called the store to warn them, but the guy said he couldn't do anything and I needed to call the dasher, who asked me to call doordash. While I was trying to solve the problem with the doordash attendant, they CANCELED my order and said that I asked to cancel it. They charged me for something I never got.

Like the half price appetizers during the time I went, Sunday around 940pm. Very quick service. Was seated with no wait. Table was clean so were utensils. Raspberry iced tea tasted more like regular sweetened ice tea. Food was cooked well. Been here several times and I haven't had any issues. Expected as a good chain restaurant.

It's Friendly's. You don't go for the ambience, you go for a sundae, which is what we did. Thrilled that it was open until midnight. The sundaes were classic and tasty and served in metal dishes the way we love them -- we had Strawberry Shortcake and Hot Fudge. Just right. The best part was our waitress, Joanne, who was utterly delightful and perfect.

Love their share platter with 2 mini burgers, waffle fries & sour cream, and cheese mozzarella sticks. Menu display and items change recently, same as the prices. So make sure you take a look at the menu before going. Place should be remodel, not just this one’s but maybe all the Friendly’s. The indoor dining area it’s pretty old, dark and gives you sad vibes. Even though, the waiters put a huge smile on them to attend and serve you.

There’s no need to follow up with anyone, no compensation will change the fact that this store needs help. Figure it out. Poor customer service but good food. Please remember to include everything that people order on Doordash. If it’s supposed to come with dipping sauces in restaurant then send it in the Doordash order- that is what we are paying for.

Ok, bare with me. It's Friendly's, I didn't want to go in there to begin with. It's an old chain that never really progressed past the 90s, so why are we here?! Because Hubby loves milkshakes and he thought it would be cheaper. SMH 🙄. So first off, our waitress was nice, but the atmosphere was drab and drag. I felt like I was in a depressed version of a 90s sitcom in a restaurant. Crazy! Food, nothing really seemed appetizing, so I opted for tomato soup and grilled cheese with bacon. He ordered the same, I forgot what the kids ordered. Ironically enough, I was the only one ok with my food. When we asked my daughter how her meal was, she said the ketchup was good 🤷🏾‍♀️. All agreed their shakes were goof. We took the leftover food and gave it to the first homeless person we saw, not for bad reasons , that's just what we do with leftover food. Yeah so, if you haven't been in Friendly's in a long time don't go. But if you love nostalgic restaurants, enjoy!

Not very FRIENDLY if I do say so myself I dined in but only for the ice-cream sundaes. I apparently sat the wrong booth in the diner but no one had said anything or corrected so I assumed everything was just fine and was enjoying my time there. I was leaving and one of staff stopped me before I reached the door and was just really rude about where I had sat, but I would have been willing to move if she had told me earlier. I’ll just be taking my ice cream to go moving forward 😔

I had the BLT. Even that, is not the way it used to be. Friendly’s one of the last surviving eateries from my childhood. Was going to have the hot fudge sundae, but I didn’t want to be disappointed. Been trying to find all the places that have slowly disappeared. Next on the list, Jack-in-a-Box!!!

waitress was very rude and unprofessional. also, the ice cream was melted and the food was cold. unfair prices and the menu said free sundae with meal but we were charged 4.59 and the food took 45 minutes to come out with two other couples at the tables. Friendly's was anything but friendly. would not recommend ever.

2004 I found hair in the burger spoke with the manager Rebekah, who explained to me the cook has no hair, but yet it came out of the center of the burger and when I asked if there was anything they do, they said no so something‘s wrong and I wouldn’t recommend the establishment for food

I took my kids to friendly's when they were young, it was the place to good food and icecream. Today I took my Granddaughter and I was disgusted. The bathroom was disgusting, the table the floors were dirty. The server was very nice. I was very disappointed. I felt disgusting sitting there. I will never go back there. The board of health needs to make a trip there.

Some of the worst service me and my family have ever experienced. We spent $130 on dinner and one of the items was left out; we called and were told by one employee we’d get our missing item. On arrival we were met with a nasty attitude from the manager Rebecca, she argued with us about the missing item and showed no customer service skills at all. When speaking to the other manager John he argued with us as well and was rude and said we wouldn’t get our money back. It’s crazy that these two rude people are leading the employees at friendly’s. Poor customer service seems to be a common theme at this location. Definitely lost customers with us and won’t be coming back again. Had problems with employees being prejudice in the past and tried giving this place another chance but after this encounter with the horrible management we won’t be spending our money here. If this friendly’s location wants to stay in business they need to hire new management.

If there is an option for 0 star, I would rate 0. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered delivery and they forgot two items. I asked for a refund of the two items and they said they can only send coupons. So, I accepted the coupons and gave them my address. The coupons never came and I called again to check on the status. The first manager I spoke to said that they have no record of me calling in and requesting for coupons. Hence, they cannot do anything about it other than giving me one of the items for free. Then, the second manager I spoke to told me that "there's no way both would be missing... but okay," and then decided to send the coupon for the remaining item. Both of the managers I spoke to had a terrible attitude and showed no leadership with taking on responsibilities. They spoke to me as if I was in the wrong when it's their employees and poor training that has caused this incident. Very poor experience. Do not recommend.

I agree don’t recommend that place to anyone! Yesterday at 10pm when I ordered two scoops of Icecream on my cone! I wanted to change it to one scoop! He said you already paid for two scoops! He didn’t give part of my money back when he didn’t even start the order! He scammed me! It was the employee that had glasses and brown hair! He’s a scammer! He’s greedy and selfish! This happened on May 22nd at 10pm

I'm beginning to wonder how people breathe anymore. Put my food in a bag with some name on it, Brad, and had it crossed out with my name on it. Obviously some one here needs to get back to school learn to actually read, because this is getting crazy. The amount of time of missing items, toppings or sides is astounding and then they don't care in the slightest. They don't take responsibility or try to correct their mistake. Terrible way of doing business. I'm noticing this is a growing trend on the island, I don't know why, but just because I order through an app doesn't mean I shouldn't get the same attention. It takes 2 seconds to look at the receipt and look in a bag. I'm not understanding why restaurants are find this simple task so hard to do.

I was totally disappointed! First off, it was empty, that was a red flag. The waitress was not very friendly (at Friendly's!!!) I wanted breakfast food and the waitress said they stopped serving breakfast ever since Covid. Ok, fine that wasn't her fault. So I ordered a cobb salad with extra chicken and extra boiled egg with balsamic vinaigrette. She brings it out and there was no salad dressing, she tells me that the dressing was tossed in and I had already dug thru it before asking, but I proceeded to dig thru the salad while she stood there telling me there should be dressing in there. I looked at her, shook my head "there is NONE, can I have some?" ..and she had a weird dry attitude and said she'd get me some "more" as if she didn't believe me. I regretted getting the extra chicken, it was so bland and dry!!! Absolutely dry, no taste!!!! My son's food seemed to be OK, it was chicken supermelt. I ate my salad bc I was hungry but felt very highly dissatisfied.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Walked in with my family explained to the lady at the counter we had a party of 6 but we were waiting for 2 people to arrive. She said we couldn’t be seated until the entire party arrived which was fine. Another party of 2 walked in after us and were seated immediately. When the rest of our party arrived a few minutes later I let the same lady know we were all here and she tells us to wait and goes to the back then comes back and tells us there will be at least a 10 minute wait and she has to put us on the wait list. Which was odd being that people came after us were seated immediately and half the restaurant was empty with many open tables. I questioned why we couldn’t just sit down instead of standing in front of the entrance and she said she was doing what she was told. I asked to speak with the person who instructed her to tell us we can not sit down and was told we have to wait eventually a person named Rebecca who said she was the manager came to speak to me she seemed like she couldn’t be bothered, had a standoffish attitude and never apologized for the inconvenience. Instead she told us we couldn’t be seated. I asked why that was since our entire party was here and we were told we couldn’t be seated until then and customers came in after us were seated and why would she rather us continue to stand at the front blocking the entrance she claimed they were busy (again half the restaurant was empty) and I even stated if there was a wait we don’t mind waiting as long as we could sit down at a table and she still refused to seat us. I explained at this point we were leaving and a young man came out and offered to seat us and her response to him was they’re not staying. I thanked the young man and he apologized I said it’s not your fault at all but thank you. I’m astounded she is the manager if this is how she handles dealing with customers.

It’s sad to change my review to one star, today I had really bad experience. It was my first time to go to eat in the dining area, I seated myself. I didn’t know that I have to wait the waiterness to seat me. Then after 10 minutes the waiterness show up, and she was made at me. And she said you seated yourself and you should have waited me to seat you. I said my apologies, It’s my first time here and I didn’t know. She said there is a big sign there, I said I didn’t see it. Please be nice to me, it’s not a thing. I always come here for to go Ice cream and I am familiar to most workers, they are usually kind. Then, she said usually when someone seat themselves I ignore them!!! I can’t understand why is this huge reaction?! I am her guest and in different cultures we seat ourselves, and it’s clear to them that I am not local person. So, why she was rude to me!! I had to cancel my order and leave to eat in Dinner where they treated me kindly.

Disgusting food. Order was wrong when we called the store to let them know the manager John yelled at us and ended up hanging up on us. That’s not how you serve customers maybe get some managers that have customer service skills. Girls making the ice cream had their hair down and the ice cream station looked disgusting. Probably the worst Friendly’s I’ve ever been to with rude workers and a disgusting restaurant.

I mean, I love Friendly's for the nostalgia factor. It's comfort food for me since I've ate the food as a young child, before I was even old enough to speak. This location however, was unequivocally the worst Friendly's I have ever been to. The waitress wasn't attentive at all. She did not earn her keep. I had to ask another employee for more napkins and refills. A different, third employee brought the food out. I might have felt sorry even just a tad bit if the waitress was apologetic for her absentee existence and service. But nope, she was just coldly apathetic when she did bother to appear. As you would imagine, I don't recall the actual waitress' name. You can be damn sure that I am enough of a jerk to put her name on blast if I could remember it. Instead, I'm just advising that if you want Friendly's, go to another location.

Not sure how this place still has.A four star rating, it clearly has not been updated in quite some time. This particular location has consistently gone downhill at a rapid pace. The food has become disgusting and intolerable. After eating there the last time I swore I'd never return to a friendly's right restaurant ever again. We used to eat at this particular location.Almost weekly. The sign out front hardly even suggests that there is a friendly restaurant at the location, even though it's been there forever. the bathroom looks like something out of a nineteen sixty eight bawling alley and smells like a too. The entire dining area smells like urine and wet dog and has clearly not been updated in over 30 years, at least. None of the food is fresh. I usually order the honey barbecue chicken melt sandwich . The bread tastes like it was soaked in butter a week prior every single time, one does not resemble the same sandwich that I used to get several years ago there. Thankfully, recently I visited the Sayville location and it is a night and day experience. The restaurant is fresh and alive, super clean and the food was delicious. Whoever the owner is at Stony Brook needs to wake up, take a look at his fellow franchisees locations.

Update: Their Operations Manager Alicia was very nice and accommodating. Most Friendly's are great but unfortunately we had a bad experience with the staff at this particular restaurant. Hopefully it was just a one time thing. This particular Friendly's had the worst service. Tried to rip us off and then refused to give my mother a small sundae that came with her senior menu purchase. Ridiculous

I came here with my family and the waitress sat us in between tables where there was(10) teenage kids being out of control. We place our order and I was about to tell her to move us and got hit with a cell phone by one of the kids. We told the waitress and her response was so unprofessional and rude. We ended walking out and my husband talked to the manager and didn’t go no where with her too. Please stay away from this place if you want to have a Pleasant place to eat. Staff and manager ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Went to go get ice cream with my friends and as soon as we walked in the woman at the register was demanding our orders. While we were trying to quickly decide she was staring us down as if we were an inconvenience for needing 30 seconds to decide. The whole interaction made us seem as if we did something wrong. Just an awful experience overall and not how a customer should be treated. Never once was kind or welcoming.

I went in and ordered ice cream and it was NOT the ice cream I Ordered. They said that "Friendly's" had a new Ice cream and they have no control over that and refused to work with me for a refund. I am not eating the ice cream as it is not the one I ordered. The staff was very nice but the manager was rude. Absolutely abysmal. Go anywhere but here. Waited over an hour for two appitizers and an order of boneless chicken wings. And the kicker is they ran out of chocolate ice cream! I'll say it again an ice cream place ran out of chocolate ice cream. If you liked this place 20 years ago you're in luck cause the decor is the same and it doesnt look like it's been cleaned in that long. Stained booths the host got mad we didnt want to sit in. And if the health inspector saw the bathroom they'd close the place. Stay away. Go to coldstone for ice cream and the diner for food both across the street, both infinitly better. Awful food, awful service. 0/10 do not recommend.

I went here 2 nights ago with my boyfriend around 11:26 and the person that took our order was very friendly but the manager or shift leader was very rude, we didn’t know we couldn’t sit down in a area because we saw another family sitting down, her attitude was terrible and she ruined a date night for me. all i wanted was ice cream to end off a good night.

Highly upset , first time there and i asked for specifics only bcuz my kids have allergies and they put everything with allergies in their food so my kids did not eat it. highly upset.

I visited with my family two days ago, and unfortunately the service was extremely disappointing. We arrived around 4:30 in the evening and were the only customers there. As soon as we walked in, two employees immediately went into the kitchen, leaving their nail polish out on one of the tables. A host came out a couple minutes later and seated us. We ended up switching tables because the first one didn’t have enough space for everyone to sit comfortably. While we were moving, the server stood in the kitchen doorway just staring at us. We tried to explain why we were changing tables, but he didn’t respond at all—just a blank stare. After we sat down, we waited about 10 minutes for service. The server remained in the kitchen the entire time, still doing his nails and chatting with someone instead of coming to greet us or even acknowledge us. When we finally decided to leave, he walked out to our table with his POS system in hand, but still didn’t say a single word. We were the only customers in the restaurant, and the lack of professionalism and basic service was shocking. This place used to be one of my favorites growing up, and I was excited for my son to experience it too. Instead, we left disappointed, and honestly I’m still upset about it even two days later.

Showed up to Friendly’s to grab my pickup order last night 11/28 with my 5-pound chihuahua in my arms silent, calm, bothering no one. Before I could even speak, this woman jumps down my throat saying “no dogs” like she’s been waiting all day to yell at somebody. No greeting, no basic manners, nothing. Just straight attitude in an empty restaurant. I tell another kind employee I’m just picking up my order, and this woman interrupts to bark at her employee “doesn’t matter, the dog can’t be in the building,” as if she cant tell me herself talking about me like im not 2 feet away. Then when I try to say I just need to look at the ice-cream flavors quick for my mom, she tells me my friend can order… as if my friend magically knows what my mom likes? Like im suppose to order from outside? Her energy was rude, condescending, and completely unnecessary. I UNDERSTAND policies. What I don’t understand is someone acting like a security guard at the Pentagon over a toy-sized dog. I got rushed out so fast I left with a sad plain vanilla instead of an actual birthday order for my mom. If she spoke to people like a normal human being, this review wouldn’t exist. I would have nicely put my puppy back in the car, but she chose attitude over professionalism, and it shows. Honestly, I feel bad for the coworkers who have to deal with her every shift. No one that miserable should be the first point of contact. No wonder she’s the only one hiding behind a mask with her nasty attitude.

We've ordered from the Stony Brook families a lot over the last couple of years. Tonight we ordered take out and were really disappointed. We spent over $65 on two sandwiches, mozzarella sticks, a fribble, and a Friend-Z. The Friend-Z was less than half full, it looked like someone had eaten half if it. The fries with my girlfriend's sandwich had some type of fuzz or dust on top of a few of them. I used to work in the service industry so I always give workers the benefit of the doubt, but the worker who gave me the food was rude and dropped my bags, never said "you're all set" or "have a good night" She just turned her back after putting the food down and walked to the back. I honestly can't say I'd be in a rush to order food from this Friendlys again.

I placed an order online and I was wanted to make a modification to my order that wasn’t available online unfortunately. I offered to still pay for what I wanted to modify, that wasn’t an issue I just couldn’t do it online. The first young lady that answered the phone was nice and said she would have to charge me for my modification which was fine I grabbed my card and was ready and then all of a sudden she said she needed to ask her manager. Then one of the managers got on the phone and said she wasn’t allowed to charge me for it and gave me 2 different reasons and was being very rude about it. I replied that I’ve done it before and that I’ve paid for it over the phone before at this location and other locations and she was just arguing with me and being very disrespectful about it saying that “my employees would never do that” accusing me of lying when I have the receipts and charges to prove it. She said her name was “Rebecca” and when I asked if that was her real name or a fake name she said, “I guess we’ll find out tomorrow” because I said I wanted to speak with her General Manager. I mentioned I was a Manager at another large chain and she tried to make fun of my company as well which was very rude. No member of management should ever treat a customer like that, especially in the service industry. It was completely uncalled for and unnecessary. She might’ve had a bad night or bad day, but you don’t take it out on your customers. Very unprofessional and appalling. I truly hope something gets done about this, especially since I just recently moved to this area and I was really excited to try this location and this is how I get treated for simply asking for a modification.
