My favorite place in turlock. I have yet to have a bad meal here. I can't say that for any other Mexican restaurant in town... Except silvas Taco Truck. Some places are bland, some places have bad service but good food... This place has always been enjoyable for me and my wife. 27 years of Mexican food from around Turlock, this place has yet to be disappointing.

Everything our family ordered was fantastic. The hostess was very pleasant. The rest of the staff did a great job maki g sure we were taken care of even tho the restaurant was very busy.

We have always had a good experience here. The food is always good. The employees are always friendly. Good service every time. I definitely recommend this restaurant. You have to try the molcajete here!

Yes we drive over an hour to eat here!!! This place is like no other and the only Mexican restaurant to offer the famous Molcajetes in the lava bowl! It's truly a treat my Wife and I have made a tradition to continue the drive to eat here. Food is always excellent, service is great.

We had a company dinner with 35 people on a Friday night. Our waiter Humberto was AWESOME!!! He kept up with all the drinks and got everyone's food order correct. I cannot say enough good about the job he did. And of course the food was amazing...as always. The other wait staff also did amazing. Highly recommend Mi Casa for a delicious meal.

The place is cute, a lot of natural light, real succulents on the tables, but not much else noticeable. The service was great. We had a large party and they had the perfect table. they had indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good, some things were great! Drinks were good too. for 10 people (two of them were kids) we paid about 230$.

We were here for an event in their event room. There were maybe 50 of us. For the event, we had quesadillas, salad, half tray of rice, half tray of refried beans, full tray of chicken fajitas, full tray of carnitas, and a full tray of chile verde. It came with flour and corn tortillas. They served chips and salsa. My favorite was the carnitas. They were so tender. The chile verde was also very good, also very tender, but it had more lime than I'm used to. Maybe it was just me though. I heard the quesadillas were delicious. Afterwards we also got fries. It was overall delicious. The staff was very nice as well. I would come here again.

The Mi Casa molcajete was more like a volcano, oozing of melting cheese, a citrusy-salsa sauce, with a heaping portion of tender steak and shrimp cooked to perfection. The bubbling dish stays HOT (temperature wise) for your entire meal. It's almost as beautiful of a dish to eat with your eyes as it is your stomach. Get the molcajete or you'll be wishing you did when everyone else around you orders one.

This place looks small from the outside and the parking lot doesn’t help argue that statement, but the moment you walk in the place is huge with plenty of room. There is plenty of seating available as well as a banquet room for private parties and even a bar if you prefer to have a couple of drinks with your meal. I came here because my friend rants and raves about this place not only because he used to work here, but because this is the place he measures all mexican restaurants too. Trust me I’ almost just a picky. Your greeted once you walk in and we both went straight to the bar! I ordered a michelada with Modelo beer. It didn’t come in anything extravagant like some other places, very simple. But the flavor of it was perfect, the beer and michelada mix were just the right amounts with neither over powering the other. (these come in double versions as well) For a appetizer we had the mussels “estilo de ajo” (cooked with garlic cloves). I love garlic, but anyone that knows me knows I usually try to avoid it because I tend to be very sensitive so I don’t have it too often. It had a amazing flavor and spicy as hell just like I like it. If your sensitive to spice I may try and avoid it otherwise go nuts as much as I did. (plus side the garlic didn’t make me sick) Now onto our entree, ,we both shared a “Molcajete” made with chicken, it came out sizzling with juices and lots of melted cheese and green onions in a pumice stone bowl. There are many places in the valley or California that make these, but till today none are as good as Mi Casa’s version! Mouth watering strips of juicy chicken in their special sauce that I ate heaping portions of with my flour tortillas and housemade beans. My experience was pretty amazing after a long morning of driving and the staff along with the great food made it a super experience. I know most of the reviews complain about wait time, I didn’t wait long maybe because I was seated at the bar, but trust me the food is way worth the wait. So yes expect a decent amount of time for your food, you won’t regret it. When you come in don’t forget to say “Hi” to Jenny or Henry, tell them Pedro from Visalia sent ya!

Atmosphere is pleasant and quiet, plenty of seating when we got there. The menu is extensive to the point that we couldn't decide what to order. My wife got a Combo Plate of Chicken tamal, chicken flauta and chile releno with refried beans and rice. I ordered Nachos De La Casa, it had refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream and al pastor meat. Plenty of parking and the prices were competitive with the area.

I love to visit Mi Casa for special occasions, so far most of their dishes have been really good, I personally love their molcajete mix with steak and chicken, but have also gotten other dishes without disappointment. If I remember right they close one day of the week, Mondays. I don't drink but people at the bar seem to always be having a good time, so they must have a really good bartender. As far as space goes, for holidays and special occasions they decorated accordingly, they have tables for one or couple, and they also have an area partitioned for larger groups plus outdoor seating. Waiters seem attentive most of the time. Prices are reasonable for a good quality restaurant.

Outdoor and indoor dining area. The waiting area outside is accompanied with the peaceful sound of the beautiful fountain they have. Surrounded by lovely greenery. A perfect little oasis. Easy access parking lot. The staff is kind and thoughtful. My husband and I were picking up food and one of the staff offered us some water because it was hot outside. He came back with two large to go cups of ice water. Super thoughtful. Thank you.

the food was good we were there to celebrate a birthday party and the atmosphere was great. We were able to sit in the side Room and the restaurant was able to accommodate us. I had a salsa verde burrito with green sauce over it. A couple of my friends had the molcajete. They said it that was delicious. Their tortillas are freshly handmade from corn.

The food was really good! The service was amazing as well! The only thing was that the hot salsas where missing but other than that no complaints.

I've been going here for years. The food has been great every time and the drinks as well. It is a small seating area and it can get crowded during dinner. The tables are quite close to each other which can be unpleasant if you have more than 4 people in your party. They have an extra room usually reserved for parties which is nice its separated from the rest the noise and kid friendly.

The food was great! We ordered a Mojcajete. This was served with rice, beans, and tortillas as well. Rice and beans were great, I tend to judge a place heavily on the rice, but it was really good. If I had to make a complaint at all, it would be the guacamole. I personally like a chunkier quac with tomatoes, onions and chiles, and they served a liquefied version. It was flavorful but just more of an avocado sauce instead of a guacamole. But all in all, the food was good and service was good too.

We were able to get a table quickly, but took forever to have our order taken as well as for the food to arrive after that. The molcajete Is what made me give them 4 stars anyway. Exceeded my expectations!

I had been here once before and liked it, didn't remember how much went this past weekend loved the food! I had the carne asada enchiladas. They were actually pieces of steak not hamburger meat! Delicious. Staff was super friendly and quick!

This restaurant is always clean and the service is great. Chips and salsa are put on your table right away. After ordering your food you won't have to wait long before your food arrives. The food always has wonderful flavor. Some of my personal favorites here are chicken burritos, enchiladas, chiles rellenos, root beer, beans and rice. They serve beer. The sodas are Pepsi products! The only negative thing I can think of is sometimes it's loud. This is not the employees fault, but some customers talk and laugh and the sound seems to stay among the tables, maybe it has something to do with the building, ceiling, or ventilation, I'm not sure.

I feel like this place never stood out to until recently. They specialize in seafood but have chicken and steak. Their service is fast and friendly and food comes out a reasonable time. I enjoyed a $20 chicken plate. Forgot the name but it had sauce on it and had a special kick to it.

My husband and I came for dinner on a Tuesday. It was not crowded and we were seated quickly. They do have a good variety of seafood dishes. I got a combo plate with a green sauce chicken enchilada and a carnitas sope. Husband got the Tampiquena. The enchilada was okay, but the Carnitas!! I would go just for that. My husband's dish was good as well. Service was fairly good, my husband's took a bit longer, but overall it was a good visit. Would go again.

Salsa was just ok. Pico de gallo had good flavor but no spice. Tamale was dry and Chile relleno was nothing special. I expected better traditional food. Service was decent and friendly.

I would have give this place a 5 stars because the food was great, but the service wasn't. The waiter was rude and we had to ask more than three time for refills and napkins.

The food is great, the customer service is horrible they don't check your table frequently. Your constantly having to wave down your waitress.

Food is amazing!!! Hands down... My ONLY concern is that over at the bar are the customers and bartenders are way to loud! They act as if they're the only ones present and give no regards to the others trying to enjoy their family meals. I feel like their bar area needs to be taken outside so that those that don't want to hear that vulgar and drunk talk can eat in peace and those that wish to be rude and childish can stay outside. Just my opinion. Other than that the ace is nice.

I was invited to lunch for a family member birthday. I will have to say that I was not impressed with the food or the dinning area. The chips and salsa were OK but our long wait for our food was unacceptable. My party waited for almost two hours before we received our food. Once we received the food I truly was not impressed with the taste and quality of the shrimps or salsa. I asked for extra hot sauce but got mild hot sauce. I would never return again due to our bad experience.

Drinks were cool and food was ok but both a/c units were broke and it was 86 degrees in there and 102 outside. They owner came over to say he was sorry for the condition. I recommended he give the customers 2 for 1 drinks for the uncomfortable situation for customers and he just laughed. Pretty crazy in this time when businesses are struggling after Covid19. We were gonna take off cause we felt he didn't give a damn about the customers.

The wait time is long each time I've been there (for the food and sometimes to be seated). The servers are nice and helpful. Restaurant is a little pricey but serving size is decent although some foods like the salsa, guacamole, beans, rice is either salty or lacking salt. I would probably prefer to have drinks and an appetizer here. It does seat large crowds but I would call ahead for them to arrange a table. Fresh corn tortillas are a must.

I placed an order today they said it would take 30 min. We walked in to the restaurant, and no one even acknowledged us. And then finally some came up to us and asked for how many. we said we had placed and order on the phone 40 minutes ago. They said our food would be out soon. 15 more minutes when by. And all we saw was the waitress and a waiter fighting with the cooks. Unprofessional. We finally got our food an hour and 10 after we had ordered. Horrible customer service. They food was great definitely going to give a shot out to the cooks. This places Is just better if you eat there they will treat you better than if you call for take out. That's for sure....

Service slow. Good flavor mojajete. Added chorizo in my mocajete as I've done in the past. Today it was undercooked as I was eating it, I kinda thought something was wrong but as soon as I got home after here I paid the price. It seems like their cooks have changed and they raised their prices. Ordered a molcajete which had very little meat (chicken) for over $20.99 and the sauce wasn't as tasty nor spicy as before. Service was ok, they weren't that busy and our server took his time on getting things.. I won't be going back.

The food is delicious! The service is great. However, there are many hidden fees added on top of an automatic tip to your bill that drive up your cost a lot. I don't mind the auto tip especially to a group over 10. I just don't care for the additional $30+ added twice! Almost $70 added with no explanation!

I ordered off ubereats because the place became newly listed on there. The beef enchiladas I ordered, the beef was old-tasting/dry (not fresh). The red sauce was bland. The refried beans were bland. And also, I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant that puts unseasoned/bland white rice with the meal, but they do? I was expecting fried rice. Honestly the meal was very weird looking/tasting. Not appetizing at all. On the other hand my girlfriend ordered the shrimp tostadas and those were good!

Sorry to rate 1 star but I didn't even get to try the food. I was asked to sit at the bar but the seats were full. I went back to the front door and was ignored for 10 minutes. I took off and went down the street to another restaurant and got seated immediately. Maybe I'll try again but probably not.

The place has gone down hill, people have to wait one hour and a half to recieve their food that is not fully cooked or simply don't meet expectations. Overall my experience with my family here was bad, no one should wait so long for their food to be out especially when it's over priced.

The sign outside with the missing lettering should have been the sign to turn around. Decor with black covered chairs and a green lace was hideous. Worst horchata ever so much sugar the waiter said dont worry i can bring you a water. Really a water that stuff is nasty and its past a water fix. The shrimp molcajete was the worst ive ever had ever very salty and shrimp had a refrigerator flavor mixed with nasty cheese to mask flavor. I will never return and i do not recommend at all.

Reason why I am giving a one star is because due to this pandemic we are to be eating in the patio and is 104. I came with my husband and 2 kids (4 & 5) and we supposed to eat out side. Owner has favorites where there was people able to eat inside. We asked waiter why was going on and she said that “it’s because they are his friends/family” I didn’t find this fair at all. I have been a regular at Mi Casa for 12 years. Today, I called in the early afternoon to make a reservation for 12 and it was confirmed. When I arrived with my party, the hostess (later aged fake blond) said that she did not have me down. I told her I called at 12:36 pm, after referring to my phone, and she said she was not working at that time. This obviously has nothing to do with anything, somebody confirmed my reservation. The hostess said she would look into it, went to stand by the pick-up counter for about 5 min., came back and said there was nothing she could do and walked away. Did not try to correct the situation whatsoever, or even apologize to a loyal customer. The food is good at Mi Casa, which is why I have always tolerated having to wait over 45 min. to get food, even on a slow day. I have also tolerated having to ask for refills and routine incorrect billing. All that is done tonight. I will not return to Mi Casa. Common problems are worse with the new owner. After Mi Casa's incompetence tonight, I called El Rosal who accepted our last minute reservation, provided great service, and had our food out in about 20 minutes even with a significant amount of patrons. My dad appreciated it, considering he is barely able to make it out of the house at this time due to a medical condition (sacrificed to celebrate 2 birthdays with us). Thanks to the reliable restaurants out there.

The food just wasn't bay area food and just tasted poor went with the family and none of us finished our food getting home my girls...dogs didn't seem to mind the $80 meal carnitas torta,grilled chicken enchiladas and steak burrito should have walked right back out when the waitress said well the seafood is good when asked about the food 🤦‍♂️

The food was horrible.. We paid 60 dollars for 3 shrimp tacos that I could have made better at my house my partner got flautas as to have seemed to have been fried once and fried the second time to the point where they were very burnt. As a Hispanic I know how flautas are made and never in my life Have I seen them super burnt when server at a restaurant. The fries and chicken salad was the best thing. Well mines a while Ron of unnecessary mango chunks on my salad.. Better luck next time..

My wife was excited to try a new place since we are not from Turlock. We were deeply disappointed in the food it did not meet any of our expectations. The rice had way too much butter, the shrimp were not even spicy they had to which catch up. The chicken strips were way too oily the only good thing was the water and the chips and salsa.

Horrible service. Food is delicious but service takes forever. The server kept putting excuses on why they were taking so long. He never came to ask if we needed any more drinks. We had to keep asking for water and what else came with the food. We had to ask for silverware. Love the food but uhh, service!!!!

It was terrible we waited a 1/2 hour just for our drinks then my wife ordered a chicken chimichanga and it was just warm when she got it. We ordered it again and it came back just warm and it was beef We paid for our drinks and left What a dis appointment and waste of our time Not even a one

Went for lunch last week and received the worst service and food ever! Didn't get served our drinks until after food was served. We ordered the red chicken enchiladas, yich! It was like they dipped the corn tortilla in red sauce and stuffed it with dry chicken with no sauce or cheese. We will never dine there again!!

Sign on the door as well as Google's time says open until 10pm. My family and i walked in at 8:15 and got sat at a table only to have our server rush us to order. Didn't say anything about closing time being sooner then 10 o clock when we were sat down, but continued to make our experience a bad one. I have never had such a bad experience as I did tonight. 0 stars if I could! Very rude because they straight ignore you for minutes at a time from the moment you walk into the door. No one greets you, just walks right past. Plus you practically walk right into a dining table when you first walk in, and they always seat a family at those 2 front tables. Only like a foot from the door at one table, and probably about 3 feet for the other table. Food isn't good either. Ordered and waited for my food at the restaurant and it was already cold when I ate in in my truck in their parking lot. Told me it would take 15 minutes for my 1 plate of veggies and beans, took 47 minutes. And cold?? Such a BS place. Taco trucks here are better

Uninviting, Dirty, Disgusting Restaurant My Uber dropped me off on the corner as walking by I noticed a door that was open and I thought it was the entrance when I walked in to my surprise it was the back door to the food prep area WOW how disgusting and unsanitary it made my stomach turn it smelled bad, the meat was left outside unrefrigerated, grease all over the floor garbage on the floor. An employee told me the entrance was in the other side. I couldn’t leave fast enough. I refuse to give my business to a establishment that doesn’t care.

We have visited Mi Casa restaurant on few occasions. Even though I felt it was little overpriced I continued to frequent here because I liked the environment. I can't say this is my favorite Mexican place, as I am Mexican and enjoy authentic hispanic foods on a regular basis. It wasn't until very recently that I was taken aback with the price and quality of the food. I had the nachos and one large Rumchata and my total was $66! I was infuriated. The waitress suggested I get the large drink as opposed to the smaller size. She told me I would be getting the three times as much for only double the price. However, the drink menus don't even include a price. When my tab came, I asked about the outrageous price of the drink and the same waitress told me she didn't know the price of any of the drinks! So it is safe to say, I will not be going back to Mi Casa restaurant and will definitely be warning all my friends and family about this place.

I came to have dinner with my husband to celebrate his birthday. The worst service ever , we waited 45 mimutes to get our food , the waitress was not wearing face covering and they are not complying with public health orders of seating their guest 6 feet apart. The female waitress was not polite at all. I ordered a Molcajete with chicken , shrimp and carne asada. The worst, no flavor at all. We got no tortillas , no utincils and no napkins . worst customer service ever. This place lost a prospective customer.

I will start off by saying their service is the absolute worst we've ever had. With that being said, their molcajetes are definitely the reason we keep coming back, well kept coming back. After our last visit we waited 27 minutes before I asked to speak to a manager because nobody had come to take our order. On two other occasions we paid with a card but tipped in cash and they added an extra tip to our card without our consent!!! Did they think we wouldn't notice? Obviously so, but I keep a close eye on my spending. So from then on we always knew to pay cash only. Just to actually get your check at the end if your meal is usually at least a 10 minute wait! It's beyond ridiculous!! I have never written a review and this place is so bad I just kept thinking about how so upsetting our last experience was that I had to rate it. It gets 1 star only because the molcajetes are good and you can't give them 0 stars. Never going back.

Place has definitely gone down hill. Could use a refresh on the interior. Extremely drunk people in the bar area early afternoon, so loud we couldn't even hear our family talking at the table, the waiter could hardly even hear us give the order. We made a comment to the waiter he laughed it off! Service was blah, we had to ask for simple things.. Idk just not a good experience this time & like most places portions got smaller for more $$.

If I could give a negative star I would. I walked in and I get it, it was busy but...they seated two parties that arrived after my party because they were waiting for a table to leave so that they can clean and seat us more comfortably. The family left and 15 minutes later no indication that they were going to seat us. If they did not want to serve me they could have just told me. I know everyone is short staffed but it was very obvious that they did not want my business. It's hard to support local businesses if this is the way they show appreciation to their potential customers. One of the worst experiences for me at a restaurant.

I used to be a regular here many years ago. This is one of the first restaurants to have molcajetes. I went last week and understand why it was so empty. The servings in the molcajete are significantly smaller. The interior is getting run down and dirty. I hope they make a turn around because it used to be great.

We visited Mi Casa tonight as part of a group. When everyone else in our party got their food except me. When I asked the waiter whether I wad going to get my food, he said he gave it to someone else. He took no responsibility for his mistake. It had been an hour since placing my order. 30 minutes later another server brought me some food, but it was not what I ordered. But I was hungry so I didnt say anything. This was probably the worst experience I have ever had. That the waiter would blame the other customer for accepting my dinner while taking no responsibility for his mistake was utterly unbelievable. A real train wreck of a restaurant.

I usually read the reviews but this time I didn’t. We have passed this place a lot & my husband wanted to try it for lunch today. It wasn’t packed at all. Upon walking up to the front door there were two guys walking behind us, there was a little bald hispanic male that opened the door with a big oh smile & said “Hello! Welcome in, sit wherever you want.” We walked to the back where the bar area was & sat at the tall table with the high chairs by the window. The other two guys sat at another table next to us about 5 ft away. At this point the little bald Hispanic guy notices we are not with the other two guys & sitting at a different table. These guys were his regulars as you can tell by their conversations. He then proceeded to give these guys a menu, ask what drinks they wanted , came back & gave them silverware, chips & salsa. Then almost immediately gave them their drinks. We sat there patiently waiting. No one came to us at all for about almost 10 minutes. Meanwhile this little guy was standing next to the table talking to these two guys having another conversation & ignoring us but letting us know he sees us but continues to ignore us. Finally the waitress comes over to us, she was very nice by the way , & asks us what we would like to order, we looked at her & said we don’t have no menu…… she glances at the table & realizes we don’t have ANYTHING on the table. She looks almost paranoid & says oh you don’t have any menus?! She then goes really fast by the computers about 8 ft away , grabs 1 menu & puts it on the table. (there are 2 of us) then the little guy decides to now stop his conversation with the 2 guys & turn to our table & ask what we would like to drink. Seriously?! The waitress then returns with chips & salsa. A little while after the little guy brings out our drinks & walks away to sit at the bar talking to some lady. The waitress then brings our plates & says is there anything else I can get you? I looked at her & said yes, some silverware please. Again, she has that paranoid look on her face & rushes to get us silverware. So we start to eat & just stay quiet even though I’m upset because I know we are being treated wrong. The food was ok but nothing to get too excited over. As we are eating, the little guy is walking around to the few customers that are there & checking on them , asking if everything was ok then proceeds to look our way & kept walking away from us. We were almost done with our food & the waitress comes & asks if everything is ok, we just said yes. She went to get the bill. I had been drinking my drink & not really looking too much at my cup. I was almost done & realized there was white stuff on my cup. I thought it was on the outside but then I put my finger on inside of the plastic cup , swiped & it came off. I was like what is that?! I don’t know if it was from soap or what but that little guy had to of seen the cup that way when he was putting ice & then the drink because it was very visible when the liquid was out of the cup. I seriously don’t know how someone like that can still run an establishment. This place has very poor customer service unless you are one of his regulars. Definitely will not be back!

Terrible service!!! I normally come here with my family a lot and have done so for almost 15 years or so. Today, of course, I just so happened to be coming in from Fresno and my dad asked me to stop by and get take out from here. So that's what I did. I tried to call, but nobody would answer the phone at the restaurant. So I decided to take my chances and swing by and order the food there in person...I can't even begin to tell you how disrespectful the staff were to me as soon as I entered the building. They not only gave me facial expressions of disapproval and disgust, but they kept whispering in their native language to each other and then kept looking at me and then looking away and then rinse and repeat with dirty looks...then outta nowhere they rushed me to the back by the bar just to order my takeout with a younger female who was even seemingly more rude and kept rushing me while I was trying to order. They told me it would take 10 minutes (which I knew was a false timeframe for the amount of food I had ordered)...30 minutes went by with no communication and then the food finally came out...and to top it all off, they tried to rush me out...here's what I have to say on my behalf...if this is how you're going to treat me and my family as loyal customers...you may want to think twice before doing so....that's how and why customers end up not coming back again. This isn't acceptable at all. Something's gotta change...

The food and service used to be great before the new owners took over, the bartender I believe her name is Jennifer, she serves drinks but you can tell she has her favorites which is the men while the women are there waiting for drinks but either way I would rate it a 1 in everything there always short staff take long for the food and mix drinks are ok not great.
