My family and I tried Five for the first time a few weeks ago. It was a wonderful experience! Everyone was so nice and the food was AMAZING! My husband said the calzone was the best one he's ever had. I really enjoyed mine too. Prices are reasonable and the environment is great. I highly recommend trying it out!

Tonight we took my daughter out to celebrate her birthday. The service and food was fantastic but what made our night was after our entrees, my daughter and I were discussing sharing a dessert. She really wanted the bananas foster and I wanted the creme brulee. The thought of my daughter letting me down because we didn't want the same dessert had a look of disappointment on her face. The manager walked by at this very moment, and just snapped into action. She complimented my daughter, turned her frown upside down, and treated her above and beyond with so much kindness. I will eat her again soon and you should too because you just don't get treatment like this nowadays. You will not be disappointed. If I could give 10 stars I would!

Though I was disappointed with my last visit, today's meal was delicious. The magic is back in the food and the service was excellent. I am a big fan again.

Love this place!!! We went on the Saturday, it was busy had to wait for 20 min but got a bar seat (recommend having a reservation). The expresso martini is great. Tried the lobster ravioli and the margarita pizza which was very good. The staff us very friendly and responsive. Place has a great wife. Definitely will go again. One of the best restaurant in Fresno.

Great food and great service. We were there last Friday and basically I asked for something with Alfredo sauce and the waiter said they can make anything I want . Truly was delicious. Will be back soon !

We had the crab cake appetizer and special Chilean sea bass for dinner. It was amazing! The mango salsa and the Parmesan risotto was so good. Our service was top notch too.

I arrived as a walked in. And was seated in 15 mins. On a very busy Friday night. I ordered a glass of very delicious Caymus and the special of the night. The food was fast. I was seated on the Patio (cold, 52 degrees on a winter night). The outdoor ambience was warm and delightful, with plenty of heaters. A reminder it was truly busy. But at the same time quiet enough to just enjoy myself. 😉 The waitress was warm and kind and attentive. The price for a close to 5 star experience was affordable. And a delight. When you go enjoy. And the creme Brule was fantastic. 👏

The Chilean Seabass was great. My hubby wasn't fond of the butternut squash risotto, but my daughter and I thought it was very good. The lobster ravioli was rich and delicious. The filet mignon was so tender. The mashed potatoes were a hit and miss. I thought they were pretty good, though. The coconut shrimp appetizer was also very good, especially with the honey butter sauce. The spinach salad was okay. The chocolate bread pudding and the banana foster were both good, but we thought they were better together. Overall, it was a very pleasant evening with great food.

First impressions: The food and atmosphere were excellent. The service was great. The only downside was I did feel a little rushed, my dessert was snatched off the table and I was not completely done with it yet. Also, after we paid we got up to use the restroom and when we came back our table was cleaned off and our boxed to go leftovers had been thrown away.

Great place to have a nice dinner. The atmosphere is very nice but not too upscale. Service was wonderful, very attentive to you. They don't try and rush you out at all. If anything, they try to get you to take your time. Lastly, the food is great. Beautifuly plated and best of all taste amazing.

Great place to try! Really great customer service! We best the rush hour before 5 pm. When leaving, there was a line out the door, people just waiting to be seated. My boys loved the pizza! Me and my wife haven't had a date dinner in a while, and it was a great choice. Would recommend to everyone to try

The atmosphere was not “Italian” but it was friendly. Our waitress “Lulu” did an excellent job. Food was good. I’ve eaten at Italian restaurants and that “family oriented/homie” feelings was lacking there, but they still had great service.

Was brought here for the first time by friends, and was so impressed! The food, service, atmosphere—everything was impeccable. I ordered the short rib pasta special, and tried some of my husband’s tomato bisque—both dishes I’ve tried elsewhere but 5 elevated them to new standards. My only regret that night was not ordering a tomato bisque for myself. Will definitely be back to try more dishes!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this five-star restaurant, and the experience exceeded all expectations. The owner's passion for culinary excellence is evident in every aspect, from the meticulously crafted menu to the warm ambiance. The owner Marina and her staff's impeccable service elevated the evening, ensuring every moment was memorable. I was served by Nikki and Trinity who provided me with a superb dinner. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the chef's skill and dedication to quality ingredients. It's not just a meal; it's a culinary journey orchestrated by a fantastic team. If you're seeking an extraordinary dining experience, this restaurant is a must-visit in Fresno.

This place was great. We made a reservation and you should probably make one too because there's definitely a lot of people waiting. The servers were really great. The food was really awesome. If you get the meatballs they're awesome but no that there are like five of them. It's not just one big meatball. I got some fish. My wife got some chicken and salad and she loved it. I thought it was great. I highly recommend this place

We have come for dinner 5 times now. Every time has been a fantastic experience. The daily specials are always well thought out and extremely tasty. The tiramisu is fantastic! The service has always been wonderful. This last time we brought our extended family which ended up being 12 people and we were well taken care of. At the beginning of the day they were communicating with us to verify our reservation. We were seated on time, and our server Justin was on it! This was the third time we have brought our newborn daughter and we have always been made to feel welcome. We had pizza, we had 3 lobster raviolis, the calamari, filet bites, a handful of specials, the Chilean sea bass and a 3 burgers, and everything was fantastic! The food was impeccable, the service top notch, and the owner stopped by and said hi. All in all a wonderful experience and a lovely night out. We will continue to keep coming back, don’t hesitate to try this place out!

I had an incredible dining experience at FIVE Restaurant in Fresno! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a special night out. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the filet mignon, and it was cooked to absolute perfection – tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The accompanying sides were equally delightful, adding to the overall satisfaction of the meal. The dessert menu was also a highlight, with the crème brûlée standing out as a must-try. FIVE Restaurant exceeded all my expectations, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Fresno.

This restaurant blew me away! Everything about it was amazing! I had the Chicken Rollatini. It was absolutely delicious! Since it was my first time there, the waiter gave us some free bruschetta which was also very delicious. The waiter gave us free Tiramisu for a special event. The atmosphere was very high end cozy and beautiful. As long as you know you'll be paying a little more here, you won't be disappointed. TIP: To save some money, buy the discounted gift card at Costco before going.

I recommend this place! We tried the Bruschetta and I got the Rigatoni Monterosa. The place is a little pricey but I feel like it was worth the price since it was good quality. The waiter was nice overall. He could’ve been friendlier but I think that was just his personality so it was all good.

Solid Italian restaurant with a great vibe and legit, flavorful food. The atmosphere was on point, and the menu had plenty of strong options. The female bartender wasn’t the friendliest, and service could’ve been tighter, but the quality of the food made up for it. Overall, I’d still recommend checking it out. Worth the visit.

I believe our server's name was Jenna, and she was FABULOUS! It was my birthday, and no sitters, so we had 4 children in the party and the staff was completely patient and friendly regardless. The food was perfect, as well... I can't wait to go back for lunch soon!

If I could give this place six stars, I would. This is our first time coming to five restaurant, We were given a complementary bruschetta as a first time visitor right as we we seated. We were seated right when we arrived for our reservation, which was easy to reserve. The restaurant was very nice and well kept, and all of the employees were very kind to us. The restaurant was very busy in a very upbeat fun way I felt like I was at a family reunion even though I didn’t know anybody else in the room. We had the wedge salad and then the chicken Parmesan, which was delicious as well as the lobster ravioli. Also amazing. For dessert, we had the lava cake which was to die for. We will definitely be coming back to eat here again.

Salmon was cooked to perfection, The watermelon salad and the sea food with pasta was so delicious too. The Cal was delicious too. Dinner was lovely. We had our anniversary splurge there and the food was fabulous. My wife had the Halibut special and I went with Blackened Salmon and both were excellent. Desserts were huge (we should have split it) but great. It would have been a bit nice to have more privacy, but not a big deal. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. All around nice evening.

Honestly, this was some of the best service I’ve ever received. From the moment we walked in, the team took great care of us and made us feel welcome. The food was excellent — some of the best pasta I’ve had in a long time. We brought our small children, and even though we were the only family there with little ones, the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at ease. It really meant a lot. Great food, amazing service, and a warm atmosphere. We can’t wait to come back!

I really appreciate that Five puts on the father and daughter dinner. My daughters and I love having a special night out together to make long lasting memories. The food has always delivered above expectations no matter what we have ordered. From the first time my wife and I had our first date night there, we've routinely returned because the food, staff, atmosphere, and ownership exceed expectations for what a dining experience should be. Corina is the BEST drink mixer, and we've been frequently greeted and thanked by the owner for coming into his restaurant. Highly recommended to visit and establish your own opinion, but have a feeling you won't be disappointed.

I was drawn to Five by the gorgeous photos posted by other reviewers, and I’m happy to say the food and atmosphere lived up to the hype. The menu is Italian, which made browsing through all the delicious options even more exciting. We started with the burrata, which was creamy and fresh—a perfect beginning. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which absolutely delighted me. It’s rare to find seafood-based pasta dishes, especially ones done this well. In Italy, “pasta con tonno” is such a staple, but not many places incorporate seafood this authentically—so I was genuinely thrilled to see it on the menu. My friend had the spaghetti and we shared the eggplant, and I paired my meal with a refreshing Aperol Spritz. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Even our server commented on our choices, saying we had picked some of the best dishes on the menu—which made us feel even better about our selections! We sat outside under the soft, dim lighting, chatting and soaking in the cozy, romantic, and elegantly designed ambiance. It was such a lovely evening. I even ordered a spicy pizza to go for my husband, and he said it was absolutely amazing—so Five was a hit all around. This spot is perfect for a relaxed date night or a special evening out. We’ll definitely be returning soon. If I had one suggestion, it would be to consider adding more seafood options like pasta with tuna or pizzas with tuna or salmon—those would be both delicious and very traditional. Cheers!

Five restaurant has a trendy, stylish atmosphere with a focus on innovative cuisine, a vibrant social scene, and a modern design aesthetic. On the patio where we sat there were elements like exposed brick, great romantic/warm lighting I chose to drink my calories from their curated cocktail menu and it did not disappoint! The bruschetta and filet minor bites were an appetizer hit!

This place was amazing. The food, the the employees. Especially the manager (Michelle i believe her name was) was wonderful and great. She came over to our table and entertained our daughter to keep her calm while my husband and I ate. She even gave her a tour of the restaurant. It was to cute. For our first time there, i can honestly say we will be going back more often.

This is our second time eating here. The first time was almost 3 years ago and I had completely forgotten about it. We've tried 4 different main dishes and all of them we flavorful and tasty, a solid 4 for each. The Calamari was a 6 out of 5, for sure. The drinks aren't cheap but their well made and well worth it. Ryan was our waiter and that guy doesn't get paid enough, whatever it is! The tables for 2 are too close together, so close you end up invested in their conversations as much as your own. The crown jewel here is the bread pudding. Best I've ever had! The tiramisu or whatever it's called was tasty as well

Fine dining experience. The food was exquisite. Outstanding drink options. The overall experience was luxurious. Immaculate restrooms. Beautiful up-to date decor. The staff was super professional and inviting. The owner was personally thanking guests for their presence. 5 is definitely a place I will frequent. Update: Hands down our favorite spot in Fresno. The owner is frequently there greeting each table. The manager and staff treat us like family. Great drink options. The food is out of this world. We have not had anything here that we didn’t devour. The place is beautifully decorated and always kept clean. The people that frequent here are all so sweet. Definitely and environment we enjoy.

Wow! Great food. From the salads to the entrees it was so tasty and perfectly cooked. I had the lamb shank special and it was good. The old fashioned that accompanied my meal was great as well. The others at my table enjoyed their meals as well as the wine they had ordered. Definitely a great spot for a nice meal.

I cannot say enough about the service! Absolutely top drawer. We have had our company Christmas party here several times. Food is good, I didn't rate atmosphere because we were in an outdoor banquet space. Plenty of heaters to keep us warm. Parking is a nightmare. But I still recommend Five.

J
Juan Rocha

Great atmosphere, food and service. From the hostess to the servers the staff made you feel welcomed. The ambiance and service are exceptional. Kids enjoyed spaghetti with meatballs and lobster ravioli. The calamari appetizer is unique and delicious. Drinks bit pricey and lite on the alcohol. You must try the lava chocolate cake which in my opinion better than Flemmings lava cake. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

Made reservations and I'm so glad I did. The restaurant was overflowing with people when I arrived, something I definitely wasn't expecting. It was much louder than I anticipated for the kind of dining experience I expected. We were walked through the restaurant to an outdoor seating space in the back, the kitchen is visible on this walk, and if the restaurant were less packed I'd feel very mistreated, being taken to an outdoor seating area in the dead of summer. The seating area was comfortable, all things considered. Speakers played a varied playlist of tracks spanning from the 80s to more modern Harry Styles music, which was a bit surprising, more classic Italian music was more what we had expected. Our server quickly brought us some bread and olive tapenade, I love the stuff but my girlfriend and dining partner would have greatly appreciated some butter. It took some time before our server could come and take our drink, appetizer, and entree orders, perfectly understandable given the circumstances. She and I both ordered a cocktail, the timbale, and the lobster ravioli. Cocktails: the cocktails are reasonably priced, they're quite boozy but also loaded with flavor. The pomegranate martini in particular might do with some re-balancing, as it had a very prominent vodka burn. Appetizer: as previously stated, we had the timbale, the flavors weren't as strong as we had anticipated, but I found it quite enjoyable. The bread served alongside it was quite hard and crunchy, maybe slightly too crunchy. Entree: my girlfriend and I both ordered the lobster ravioli, it was very good, there is absolutely nothing to criticize about it, other than that we wish it came with a spoon to consume the excess sauce. It was delicious and absolutely loaded with seafood. It was mid-way through the entree section that I decided to ask for a non-alcoholic drink, as driving ourselves home was the intention, I couldn't further sample the cocktails. While not listed on the menu, the restaurant does offer Pepsi products. Dessert: dessert was surprising, in a few ways. We ordered the creme brulee and tiramisu. The creme brulee does not come in the traditional circular ramekin, but instead a curvy, river-like dish. The flavor was fantastic, not too sweet, and the fruits on top were lovely. The tiramisu could have done with a bit of added sweetness, but it was a welcome departure from the typically over-sweet flavors from most tiramisu. Service: Our server was overwhelmed and clearly dealing with negative experiences from other customers, but it's clear that he is great at his job, and he cares about guests' experiences. He did his best to ensure we were enjoying the food, made sure to check on us periodically to see if we needed drink refills or anything of that sort, and food was brought out in a timely manner. There was at most five minutes between our finishing the appetizer and receiving our entrees. When I went to use the restroom, and was uncertain to it's location, he didn't even need me to ask, he gave directions before I could begin to open my mouth. Facilities: given the packed nature of the restaurant, it is worth affording some leeway to the restaurant, it wasn't the cleanest bathroom I've ever used, but it was far better than the absolute nightmares I've witnessed at other places that were just as busy. TLDR: Cocktails are good, if a bit strong. Appetizer was slightly underwhelming. Entrees (namely the lobster ravioli) are amazing, desserts can be a bit hit or miss. The servers care and are fantastic people. Make reservations or you'll be waiting. A lot. And definitely try the creme brulee.

I had ordered the bone in rib-eye dinner this past Friday. Rib-eye was perfect, my only concern is for the potato side offered. The diced potatoes, felt like they were left over from breakfast. I was about to eat them with ketchup. If you want to serve a small potato side, please do but make a change to a better way of serving them for the price we are paying.

D
Danielle Cooley

The first steak my friend was served was overcooked and just a poor quality steak. But they were very attentive and brought him a new one that was great. The service was exceptional. Bad steak was just a fluke, I'm sure. The rest of the food was excellent, especially loved the bruschetta!

H
H M

We were a group of four. The salads were small and they charged for the bread. Two of our group really enjoyed the eggplant parmigian, one had the sea bass, but my rigatoni monterosa was undercooked with crunchy peas and scant prosciutto, even after sending it back it was marginal. Service was OK, atmosphere was nice.

C

We went for the first time on Christmas eve and it was very busy. I noticed a lot of regular customers just by how the employees interacted with them. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was friendly, polite, and answered all our questions. Drinks were very good and so was the food and service. Only downer on our visit was the Bruschetta salad, 3 (thin) slices of tomato with 3 (thin) slices of mozzarella cheese. I was a little disappointed with it. Everything else was great.

Ate there for the 1st time for a friend's birthday party over Thanksgiving weekend. Our server was amazing and so patient with our party, especially when 1 guest couldn't handle their alcohol. Great service--my waitress Gina was a 10! Food was yummy, but they need a more elevated menu overall and better specialty drink execution/recipes. I love lavender drinks and theirs tasted and smelled like dish soap (nope!). The only way it worked and didn't end up soapy sudsy was by not properly mixing the drink. Clearly something is off here. Anyway, I'll probably give it another try. My lobster ravioli was great!

The parking lot / parking situation is terrible. Absolutely awful. But the food is decent, the restaurant atmosphere is nice and the service I had was wonderful. I recommend making a reservation if you plan to go for dinner and arrive early so you have time to look for parking, you most likely will have to park far from the restaurant and walk. Our server was amazing, wonderful experience and everyone was very attentive. Drinks were always quickly refilled, empty / dirty dishes cleared away immediately. Their Caesar salad is delicious, the dressing was perfection, not too overpowering, very well balanced. The bruschetta is ok. Instead I would Highly recommend the calamari appetizer. The calamari paired wonderfully with the roasted peppers in the dish. The chicken parm was a very full plate and was delicious. The short rib dish was also delicious and very tender. The Chilean Seabass with risotto was also delicious. The seabass was cooked absolutely perfectly and the flavors were very well balanced. The risotto was not my favorite however it was also cooked perfectly and the flavor was not too overbearing paired with the seabass.

Food and service are excellent. The patio heaters were a great idea but they aren't adjustable. It's either cold or burning up. The staff turn them on and off for you but it's inconvenient.

J

The ribeye steak is cooked really well here, medium was a bit medium rare but still good, blue cheese on the side. Food over all was good, the lobster ravioli flavor wise was really balanced. You can actually taste the lobsters inside and the sauce goes really well with it. Over all very good other than the steak but I still killed it

We came here on a Wednesday evening (with an online reservation) and had a pleasant experience. The food was great, and so was the service. We picked the patio area seating and it's just OK. I definitely would choose the dining room option, as the patio wasn't as atmospheric as the dining room. Nevertheless, great food and service.

Ok, where do I start..Our server Dylan was great, too many tables though. Worked his butt off and we all appreciated his effort. He was rewarded just the same. My dish of shrimp, spaghetti with sun dried tomatoes was very good but lacked deep flavor such as garlic and basic salt component. The sea bass looked amazing, very similar to what I make at home, but again lacked salt. The rest of our guest liked their dishes very much and I have a few pics to show you. Apps were good, artichoke with lemon aoli was good. I would give a Solid 4.5 on the food, service. The table for ten could have better, too far from most of our party and couldn't have the conversation we wanted. I realize ten is hard to serve, wish there were other options. While the prices weren't crazy, I expected a little better for the money. While Dylan was great the introductory staff sucked and should be fired immediately. In this style of restaurant the hostess should be more attentive. They had a really cute young woman greeting us and she looked like she would rather be someplace else. A professional seasoned staff member, male or female should be greeting you and welcoming current and hopefully returning guests. Good evening, welcome to the Five! Not" How may I help you" while not even facing you and leaning on the counter. Come on....

The food was really good, but not the best in town. It was flavorful, but the black truffle tasted like it was out of season (it lacked flavor sadly). The service was amazing. Our waiter was very attentive, and was always checking up on us. The atmosphere was wonderful. However, we were sat outside by the windows, and it was so cold! That was my only complaint about the seating.

On 10/08 myself and my husband visited the restaurant for the first time. Dylan was our server. He did a great job. I had the short ribs and he had the 10oz. NY steak special. Food was good. However, we were full from having an appetizer and salad we had a couple of bites of our food and opted to have the rest boxed To-Go. We were distracted upen leaving and left the food on the table. Once we noticed, about 5 minutes into our drive, we called to inquire if the staff had set it to the side or thrown it away. We were told by the receptionist who answered that " the busser never saw our boxes on the table." Sadly, we basically had over $70 worth of food thrown away....and we were looking forward to having it later.

I was not blown away by this place but it was good. I did not like how close we had to sit by other couples. There was no privacy whatsoever ever. So if you’re looking for this to be a romantic spot for great conversation go somewhere else. The have many workers cleaning the tables like a revolving door. If my $20 coconut shrimp wasn’t burnt and if my asparagus didn’t taste burnt I would have given 5 stars for the food. I don’t think that I would ever go back unless it was on someone else’s dime. Just my honest opinion.

Went here because my father was in town visiting. The food was good but found it very tacky that the restaurant would allow the Patron Reps is booty shorts to ask each table if they wanted to sample their new tequila. Everyone at the table said no but the reps were very persistent and actually quite a nuisance. Do yourself a favor 5ive, if you want to to stay classy, keep the tackiness in the bar area not while my kids are sitting with me. Probably won't recommend or will be back again because of that. If I wanted to expose my children and family to that type of atmosphere, I'd take them to Bobby Salazar's on a Saturday night.

Food was good, but some of the portion sizes are VERY small. I got the lobster ravioli, and while it was pretty good, I feel the serving side was inadequate and it would be better off as an appetizer, at best.

The food was very okay. Definitely not worth the price point. The ambience was really nice, service was good but slow even with a reservation, there are a ton of wines to chose from but I probably wouldn’t go again.

A new trendy, new Italian restaurant has arrived in Fresno. Pros: lively atmosphere you can go to for food or drinks. Customers dress to impress. Portion sizes are solid. Presentation of food is good and service is prompt. Cons: I can't say I was impressed by the taste. There was a generous portion of mozzarella cheese with each entree but the food was plain yet oily. Eggplant Parm was decent. Chicken Rollatini and Lasagna were heavy.

Would I come back No.

We tried Five tonight for the first time. Our server, Gina, was friendly and brought us complimentary bruschetta, which was very nice. She never brought us new silverware after taking our used, which is the only reason she isn't getting 5 stars. I made a reservation for tonight. We were seated on the patio with air conditioners. They were loud and it was hard to hear. The noise and heat definitely affected the ambiance. The food was a mix. The bread and olive tapenade was good, as was the Italian Chopped Salad. My husband had the filet. It was tough. His mashed potatoes were watery and needed seasoning. I had a pasta dish (can't recall the name) that was good. The pasta was quite chewy, though, which I am not used to. For dessert, we shared the bananas foster. We usually expect some carmalization on the bananas when we order this dessert elsewhere. At Five, the bananas appeared sliced in the sauce vs caramelized. Apart from this, it was a good dessert.

So overall experience is 3 stars. The atmosphere is on the classier side, the tables are super small, selection of food is ok. The five Burger was juicy and flavorful. The short ribs were savory and tender. The coffee was also very good. The pictures I provided are not staged photos but were photographed by me. Now onto staff, the hostess was rude, squished us into a crowded space. And stated the booths were for reservations. So I would make a reservation if u want a booth. The entire time we were there no one sat in those booths and we took our time. So better seating is suggested if your going to charge the prices u do. Out of 10 I give 4/10 The server was very friendly And her service was excellent. I would avoid the hostess with long black hair about 4ft. Very snobby

Been here twice. The food is alright considering the price you're better off going to the Cheesecake Factory. This place is all about the flavor and it wasn't there for us this time, which made our experience mediocre. The hostess were really rude and snobby and I didn't appreciate getting dirty looks from them as I was being seated. It was really loud inside too and it wasn't pleasant. Then our waitress didn't even tell us the specials menu. My date was also disappointed with the lobster ravioli's. More than likely our last time eating here. There are nicer places to eat than this with better service.

The expectations for this restaurant were set high because of recommendations from a fellow restaurant industry employee. Walking in the atmosphere was good. It wasn’t crowded like I’ve heard but it was later in the evening on a Thursday so that may affect things. The bar was lively with higher end clientele drinking and chatting very loudly so we asked for a table towards the back. It was very dark and cold in the room and felt as if we were sitting in a closed business. The service was on point with recommendations, memorized specials, and professionalism but it couldn’t make up for the quality of most of the food. The steaks and fish entrees are 5 stars but the rest of the menu has a from a package or box taste. I’m pretty disappointed in the experience considering the price for what you receive and the overall lack of flavors in dishes. If I do return, I will strictly order the steak or salmon. Maybe simplify the menu with what you do well and cut out what you don’t? You’re a family owned restaurant and I would love to see you guys flourish. Good luck to you

Reserved a table indoors and was taken to a table in the patio. When I said I want a table indoors which I reserved the woman gave us an attitude. Not my problem! I still got a table indoors. If you're considering to try the lobster ravioli you won't taste the lobster but you will smell it. The ravioli comes with alot of sauce ask for the house bread to dip in the sauce. The water here is top notch tho.

Its a nice looking place the dim lighting and atmosphere were a vibe. I had a reservation for 2 showed up maybe 10 min early. The wait was not long before I was seated. But, once I was seated it took a solid 40 min for a server to come for a drink order. During that time the table next to me had got drinks, their meal, and dessert. Their server came 4 times to check on that table before I had a glass of water. Once a server finally came over to us. She was apologetic, stating there was miscommunication between the servers as to who my table belonged to. At this point we put our drink orders and food order. After another 25 min our food came. The lasagna was nothing special. I would expect a place that expensive to offer some kind of side with the meal but no it was just the lasagna. Their small cocktail menu was a bit disappointing. They comped one desert item for the inconvenience. Not sure ill return for a while

I was in town celebrating a birthday, I made reservations for 8 and when we arrived- we spent 15 minutes waiting for the people up front to figure out who was going to take our table, they kept starring at us like “not me.” I noted it was a birthday and we were all ready to go and they still hadn’t came out with dessert or sung happy birthday yet- like they did for others when we walked in. This is a nice fancy restaurant and the food was not bad but for how expensive it is and how POOR the service we experienced was…save yourself the disappointment. We felt racially profiled since the moment we walked in so if you’re a person of color- honestly, just take your business elsewhere.

This was our second visit to Five. First time was good but this time was horrible. First we ordered the bread appetizer which we never got. Then my husband ordered their sea bass baby scallops and shrimp pasta dish. While eating his meal it appeared that the sea bass not only had 1 bone but several bones in it. Luckily my husband didn’t swallow any of them. This meal was $32 and bones on the fish should not have happened. We told the waitress who apologized and told the manager but apparently their management doesn’t seem to have the time to at least come and apologize. This will definitely be the last time we dine at Five.

Parmesan is not vegetarian. Chicken broth is not vegetarian. Five Restaurant is grossly misrepresenting vegetarian options on their menu. I don't dine here often as there are little to none vegan/vegetarian options, however my friend picked Five for a birthday dinner. I was pleased to see a mushroom risotto added to the menu, despite it being the most basic plant based dish at "fine" dining restaurants, and asked if it would be considered vegan if the parmesan was left out. Our waitress checked with the kitchen and stated that the kitchen told her that, yes it can be made sans Parmesan, however it is made with chicken broth, so would not be considered vegan. When I asked why it was listed under the vegetarian option when it is clearly not,, our waitress said she would have go over that with the kitchen. The birthday girl ordered the Rigatoni Monterosa and was only able to find a single sliver of prosciutto in her dish. Be very cautious if you have any dietary concerns or allergies as it appears their menu is not an honest representation of what comes out of their kitchen.

We were looking forward to dinner at Five with friends and family. Our salads had pieces of wilted lettuce with black around the edges and my margarita pizza was absolutely terrible. I was shocked! Poor quality control.

This place is terrible. The staff is terrible. I came here for my anniversary dinner. My husband made a dinner reservation, to sit INSIDE. When we arrived the apathetic and nonchalant hostess sat us outside. Mind you it was cold and raining outside, the wind was cutting right through you! When we spoke up to say the reservation was made for inside, we were told we should of made a reservation and that the inside was all booked up, the same girl who PULLED UP our reservation said this. Then she walks off. We asked the waitress to confirm we had a reservation and when she came back she said “yes you did make one, but we don’t have seating inside sorry.” We accepted the apology, and suffered through the cold dinner. Our food was low quality for the price, and the entire hour we were there the inside of the restaurant remained EMPTY. However, all the people who were seated outside with us, who were also freezing, also made reservations for INSIDE. What we all had in common was we were all people of color. I don’t want to say there was anything prejudice and racist going on, HOWEVER once we finished our meal 90 minutes later we finally saw the inside of the restaurant trickle in with people. People for the bar, not dinner reservations at tables. All white people. Beautiful couples and such but so nice that they all got to sit inside. The experience left me with a terrible feeling. Is it coincidence? The host to seat us outside, denied my reservation and all the people outside shared the same experience? None of us white? No apologies? The restaurant empty inside while the rest of us seated outside in the cold and rain? Disgusting. I Can never recommend this awful place.

When you search up fresnos’ top restaurants the Five is found there, I wish I could place it on top 5 worst rated restaurants. I had a lot of high hopes coming into this place, my fiance and I are not from the area and decided to take a one hour drive to finally get a taste of all the hype. We waited 25-30 mins to be seated despite having a reservation…we were asked if we wanted to sit in the patio instead. Although I understand the intent may have been right, It only felt like we were being pressured (not from the hostess specifically but, overall general management) to sit somewhere just to get us out of the way. When you come to a restaurant that markets itself of “caliber” you expect caliber service. In my time in the waiting area I noticed a lot of the workers on edge or even just pacing around, making it seem very disorganized. Upon being seated, we ordered our appetizers and drinks which were delivered at a normal rate and tasted well. My fiance ordered the chilean seabass, and I got the lobster ravioli, initially the flavor on the ravioli was absolutely remarkable. After receiving our main course and taking his first bite, something didn’t feel right. Soon after mine started to taste a little funky. I took a bite of my fiance seabass and noticed the rice was very grainy almost raw and the fish had absolutely no flavor. His dish was equivalent to the type of food we ate in high school, flavorless and uncooked. We continued to eat our food because we didn’t drive an hour just to starve or make a scene. After leaving, within 30 mins of our drive home, we have to pull over to the side of the road, both of us feeling insanely sick to our stomachs. We vomit a couple times on the long way home and even spend all night in our restrooms. Perhaps this was a 1 in 500 experience but, despite that, it happened to us and we will never return again. I sit here writing this from the toilet floor and i’m not trying to stop you from going but just wanted to share my insufferable experience.

First off the restaurant has great reviews so we wanted to try it. The parking lot is super small and crowded. We walked in and the host said,”how can we help you?” …. No welcome, no would you like a seat for two? No… then we were seated on their patio which is outside and super close to other guests and tables. The waiter was super awkward and we did not get bread or waters until 20 minutes later. The prices are outrageous… and it’s ITALIAN food which just consists of pastas, pizza, and salad. No protein in most of their dishes. Italian food in Italy is cheap by the way. The alcoholic drinks are not good as well. We got a pizza, the lobster ravioli, another pasta dish, a soda, and a tequila drink and the bill came out to $102…. My advice is go somewhere else like Olive Garden, Pismos, or yard house. The ravioli was just okay. The other pasta dish was hard noodles and not edible. The waiter saw we did not eat the pasta dish but did not ask if we liked it or if anything was wrong. These people just want your money for basic food. When we paid and wanted to leave the card we paid with did not come back until 20-30 minutes later… will not go back. Look elsewhere unless you like being around snobs and want to waste money and not even get full or enjoy a good drink.
