Chop House is a gem of a place in Wasilla. Stunning view of Lake Lucille, a fantastic bar area that's both modern, comfortable, and spacious. The staff have an attention for detail with a warm and inviting manner. But the food? Amazing! It's hard to believe that a crafted dining experience of this caliber exists in a Best Western in Wasilla (the hotel is also fantastic!) - who would have guessed? I spent a couple of nights here during a cold winter weekend and the meals were some of the highlights of my trip. Elevated craft cocktails, Wagyu ribeyes, lobster Mac n cheese, smoked Old Fashioned, wines, and a very dirty martini (with lots of olives) - you're getting the picture right? If you're looking for a break from the Anchorage restaurant crowd, plan a trip, spend the night, have an amazing meal and enjoy the gorgeous views. It makes for an amazing little trip.
Sunset by the frozen lake was beautiful. Cathy was our waitress. She was attentive but still have us our space. The food looked and tasted amazing. It was nothing short of perfect.
Make a reservation online otherwise you may have to wait a while for a seat. We had the bread service for appetizer and it was amazing. My wife got the Mac n cheese (amazing) and steak tips (wouldn’t get it again it was ok). I had the flat iron steak and it was fantastic. Their house made steak sauces are good. For dessert we had the cheescake and it’s probably the best cheesecake I’ve ever had and I’m a big cheesecake person. Most of your fancier food is expensive (+$40), but your burgers and sandwiches are all cheaper (around $20ish I think).
Great view, clean restaurant, delish options on the menu. Friendly staff and quick service. Overall a great place for a date! We enjoyed my birthday celebration and the complimentary crème brûlée.
I got to each lunch and dinner on the same day. The food is absolutely delicious. Good variety to choose from. They offer gluten-free options . The service in got was great. The VIEW spectacular.
I chose the ELK BURGER. The fries were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and the tallow frying made them an immediate thumbs up 👍. The burger was perfectly proportioned for the meat, and vegetables. The patties, I prefer a bigger patty, but the balance of Elk burger & Wagyu Beef blend was nicely done. And the seasoning was truly complimentary to the meat offerings. The brioche bun was perfectly toasted, and was not in the least soggy. Well worth the price. I definitely suggest and recommend the CHOP HOUSE AT LAKE LUCILLE BEST WESTERN. I will be a regular.
Warm inviting atmosphere overlooking Lake Lucille. My wife ordered the sirloin and enjoyed it I ordered the Braised Lamb was very impressed with flavor and added Polenta it was served on. We finished off the meal trying the peanut butter pie and carrot cake both were great.
Drinks and food were delicious. Food looked so good - you get a picture of it half eaten - because I dug in before I remembered I needed to take a photo! I had the scallop and shrimp linguini. Husband had the flat iron steak. He said it was one of the best steaks he has ever had! He had the 2023 Chop Fashioned and I had the Fire house for drinks. Both had great flavor and met the expectation. Our server Nicole was attentive and friendly. Restaurant was bus - yet she made sure to check in with us and ensure we didn’t need anything. Good delivery was fast. Waters kept full. Definitely a great experience. We will return.
Food was amazing! Steaks were seasoned and cooked perfectly! Mariah was a very attentive server and the restaurant had a great vibe! I had the signature Lucille Lemonade drink and it was phenomenal! 10/10
Absolutely amazing service from Mariah! 🌟 She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the entire experience feel welcoming from start to finish. Mariah went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, checking in at just the right times and handling everything with a positive attitude and a big smile. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and takes pride in what she does. She turned a great meal into an outstanding experience—definitely someone who makes you want to come back again. If you’re lucky enough to have Mariah as your server, you’re in great hands!
Great comfy but classic atmosphere. Food was delicious. Nicole was our server and did a great job navigating my food allergies with the kitchen. She provided great recommendations and was attentive and helpful. Highly recommend you check out this restaurant. Great service by all and delicious food. Thanks to kitchen and staff.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner. Heard great things about this place from fam and friends, and they weren’t lying! The steak bites, PHENOMENAL! Cathy, our server, was very kind, attentive and professional. Very nice atmosphere, got busy around 6:30, but not too loud or crowded. A bit pricey but it’s amazing food and presentation to match. Highly recommend!
Cathy was amazing! She was welcoming & knowledgeable. The food was fantastic- lots of flavor & the presentation was beautiful. We had the Chop Burger, Elk burger & the blueberry cobbler. We loved the atmosphere & even though it was full, we didn’t feel cramped. We will be back!

My husband and I came to the Chop House at Lake Lucille for our anniversary dinner. Everything about our experience was amazing. The service was great and our waitress was super amazing!! The food was so delicious and we even got free Crème Brûlée for dessert. Definitely a place we will come to again.
The Chop House was amazing! Some of my favorites were the Ahi Bites, Carpaccio, and Harissa Cauliflower, and every single one was unreal. All the food was packed with flavor, the cocktails were perfect, and that view… just wow! I left way too full but zero regrets. Can’t wait to go back!
We ate 2 times at the chop house. One time for appetizers and beer and one time for a full meal. Both experiences were awesome. The food was delicious 😋 and the staff was attentive and friendly. Great views plenty of free parking.
We went here for our anniversary. I have to say this has been one of our best meals in Wasilla. Our server Melanie was amazing! The food was great! We loved the view of the lake.
I cannot thank the manager " Mel", our waitress Kelsie and other friendly staff like Mariah for the generous hospitality allowing us to have a big booth with the best views so we could celebrate my Mom's 86th birthday and my son's 25th birthday the very next day. They were all so accommodating even though we had No reservation and was only 30 minutes to closing. It was one of the largest dinner bills I ever paid but well worth it for the excellent food including dessert and drinks!! I could go on and on but had to mention the highlights for our last meal in Alaska before a 5am departure made the experience extra special and memorable!!
Chop House in Wasilla absolutely blew us away. The view is stunning - Alaska at its finest, but the real highlight was the food and cocktails. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The service was fantastic, making the whole evening feel special. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
This place is FANTASTIC! My partner and I shared our 2-year anniversary here and were more than satisfied. The steak was tender and decadent while the pasta was was so savory. The mac and cheese was lacking flavor admittedly, but everything else was simply amazing. The creme brûlée was also the best I’ve ever had. Hayden was an amazing server and I can’t wait to be served by him again!
I rarely write reviews, but my service was so amazing I felt I had to share. Kathy was absolutely amazing. She gave great menu recommendations. We ordered specialty drinks, which came out quickly. We ordered wine with appetizers and wine for dinner and both came out at the correct time to pair with the food. And….it was busy while we were there so makes the great service that much more commendable.
My Au Poivre was ordered “medium-well” and my husbands was ordered “medium”. They were both very much overdone. However, the flavor was phenomenal! The veggies were steamed perfectly and not overcooked but did not have any seasoning. The Blueberry Cobbler was perfection!
Food presentation was beautiful and would say the food quality for price is good for Alaska. The menu is similar to a steakhouse, but you may be disappointed coming from a big city. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are staying in the area or live here due to the beautiful view of the lake and pretty good food. Pros: -one of the better restaurants in the Valley -beautiful lake views Cons: -Slow service for drinks and dessert -Not worth making the trek up from Anchorage since there are many more food options down there -desserts were pretty but soggy and lacked flavor
Went here for my anniversary dinner. For the price I would've expected a bit more. The steak was pretty plain along with the vegetables but the sauce it came with was decent. My husband got the lamb and it was amazing! Drinks were also good. Staff were very nice as well. I will say if you want steak go to Everetts
