Taco Bueno Watauga Reviews
There has been a big improvement at this Taco Bueno. I ordered online (they need an app), It was ready for me, It was correct , the service was great. So much better that the last time I picked up my order last time. Great Improvement Guys!
The food was good and employees were friendly.
I always enjoy talking to the ladies who work there.
100% the best drive through customer service in the area.
This is my favorite Taco Bueno. The food is always fresh. they give you enough when you order. If you Buy extra sauce or meat on something you know you are getting what you paid for. The window people are usually really friendly. I just wish the one lady wouldn't make people feel bad for asking for military or senior discounts. We understand she don't want to ask for it but our family does.
Good food, but unclear promotional specials. It looked like maybe we were getting two tacos instead of just one. Changing my review from for stars to 5. Great dollar forty nine value of menu. Spectacular service.
There was no wait in the drive-thru. Food was very reasonably priced and beat my expectations. They had my order to me in a reasonable amount of time.
This is such a pretty restaurant! It's got a small dining area but seems adequate for the number of people eating inside. The service was pretty quick and the food was hot. This will be the location I will always be going to when I want quick mexican food.
Checking out the new Bueno in Watauga. I was surprised to see them use an old Krispy location. But it works. The interior looks a lot better then the normal Buenos. And has a nice modern look. Staff was friendly and greeted me fairly quick. It was interesting to see the kitchen so open..one of the guys was making beans. I ordered a #1 combo. Everything tasted fresh rhe pita bread for the Muchaco was perfect. I've had some in the past that feel a little tough especially on the ends. However this one was nice and soft. Beans tasted fresh. Not completely mixed all the way but I prefer that. Taco was packed with meat. I will definitely be back to this location for more.
Guilty pleasure snack on the go is the chicken fajita roll up. Staff was very polite
Yummy. My taco salad was super. I add beans to it and have them make it upside down..I'm an odd ball.

Went for dollar party tacos last Tuesday, and they said it's going to be dollar party tacos every Tuesday now. Buy a few of these dollar tacos, and trick them out with items from the salsa bar and it's a pretty good meal.
The staff went over and above. My radiator line busted that day. The staff checked on me filled my bottles for me. Thank you guys. I will come by when I'm back in the area.
The food was fresh and amazing. The food was Well organized on the tray and the workers were very friendly, helpful, and eager to take our order. It's a lot better when you walk in and there is no one to take your order than when everyone is ready.
Atmosphere when we got there was quiet but was very "Christmas" feeling. Manager was super nice and greeted us with a smile as we walked in and when the food was ready. We always seem to stop in to grab something fast and of course don't forget to get your cheesecake chimi's, they are the best!

In terms of fast food, its fast food. However the service is fast and friendly, and the lobby and bathrooms are nice and clean.
Food was good. On the costly side for fast food but still good. Feel like I got cheated on my guacamole and sour cream. That just means they might need some quality control

The food was fair and the restaurant was clean. The bathroom smelled SO BAD like sewer. I thought I was gonna puke from the smell. The service was S-L-O-W. There was ground meat mixed in the beans, like it was stuck to the utensil or had been dropped into the service container which nearly sent my texture sensitive eater over the edge. There are so few of these restaurants anymore I hate to leave an actual truthful review.

Not quite 4 stars. The size and portions of food like the meat in quesadillas or the size of the chicken potato burritos are definitely smaller than they used to be due to shrink-flation. They also sometimes forget salsa even if they ask at the menu and again at the window. Definitely room for improvement.
I am really disappointed in the quality of food and the prices. They changed their salsa recipe, which was SO MUCH BETTER before . I’ve been a customer all my life but there are too many other better options out there. I don’t know if I’ll go back.

The food was ok but the woman at the window was rude and the order was incorrect. And the incorrect ordering happens often. Order a beef (meat) burrito get a bean. Ask for extra sauce get none. And they were put off because we were there 30in prior to closing
We were looking forward to going to Taco Bueno since the one in Keller had closed. The excitement is over. The chips were old, the rice under cooked, the beans had been sitting a while, and the nacho cheese dip was so thick that it would not pour out of the container. I will give them 2 stars in hopes that things come together for the new location.
I will apologize for the length as I am very irritated and I should add the 2 starts are for the people who helped me, NOT FOR THE FOOD! Okay, my wife and I have been lifetime fans of Taco Bueno and were sad when we left the state for a few years. We were then really excited when we returned so we could choose from places like Whataburger and Taco Bueno. Sadly, we have now experienced the “final straw” and Taco Bueno will not be missed around our home any longer. The last 3 times we have been, twice we went to Alliance, which we decided was a huge mistake as it was nasty, this time my wife said we need to give them one more chance as she was craving the MaxiDips and chips, so I drove to the Watagua store. The people were very friendly but the food has stepped on the final straw. The tacos were oblong and distorted and we wondered how anyone would allow that taco shell to be used and they chose to use. Teaspoon measuring the amount of meat and ingredients barely filling the lower, less than half inch of the taco itself. I’ve had better tacos at Taco Bell and that is saying something. The distribution of the ingredients is a joke as you will see in our Combo Burrito that we added sour cream to. It looks like they just rolled the burrito and squirted the sour cream in after the fact. I’ve never understood how someone couldn’t take a literal half second and spread the ingredients equally so every bite will taste as close to the same as possible. I’ve posted pictures below and obviously you can judge for yourself. Godspeed to them, as I’ve seen a multitude of Bueno closing and this may be the reason. Rodney

10/8/24 10:45a Placed an order to pick up later. Heard a female employee inside YELLING and complaining to another employee about me “sitting in the parking lot ‘every day’” placing an order and then driving around the drive thru to pick it up. Exactly what is wrong with that? I’m filing a complaint. She was SO loud.
Who ever is cooking, their using too much salt. Food is very salty. This information is for corporate . Ive been there twice. Food is great in texture but way too salty. Customer service is always great but food is too salty. Try eating your own food. I really feel bad for this business. The workers are so nice but the food is so salty. If you do not follow through with this information you will lose big time. Please just listen to me. I'm not trying to hurt your business. I want you to prosper. Please take my advice. Who ever is putting all that salt in the food has no cooking skills.
I was excited to see Taco Bueno come to this area because I love Taco Bueno. I have been to this location 8 times so far and they've gotten my order correct two times. Service is very slow, and inaccurate, workers are unfriendly and borderline on rude. Door Dash orders take priority over dine in orders, so plan on a long wait for your order to be taken and to be prepared. Food on a good day is mediocre. Beans at this location are always dry, rice is undercooked, nacho cheese is old. Don't bother doing the survey to complain, as you will get no response from them. Don't bother with this location, drive to the Rufe Snow location instead.
While I was there today got street 🌮 taco While it was not street taco so STOP SELLING TO TO THE CUSTOMERS!! it was not fajitas chicken it was chucks of chicken that was hard !! The Guacamole had to much salt in it I don't want high blood pressure!! The bean tostada has old beans on them STOP serving this to customers!!! I WASTED ALL OF MY MONEY TODAY IM ON A FIXED INCOME THAT WAS MY DINNER FOR TODAY !!!!!
We have been waiting in the drive thru for over 30 minutes. It’s late on a Sunday night! We have watched employees go to their cars and inside just sweeping. Update: It took us 44 minutes to get our food with only 8 cars ahead of us. They handed us a sack with party size tacos and burritos when we ordered full size. A few seconds later, they handed us our correct sack. We got it home and could not eat it. It was terrible, so terrible. The beans were hard and burnt. The shells were burnt tasting. Horrible experience, that's too bad.
Slow service every time. Only have 2 people working on the night crew.
Arrived before 9, they close at 10. All exterior lights and dining room were off. It was so dark I almost passed the building. They were open. It took a while to order and get food even with only one car in front of me but that was fine, seamed they only had 2 employees working. When I got home I had everything I had ordered however the food was super skimpy. Almost no filling in any of the tacos or the $4 big freakin' burrito. Also, the tortilla used for the burrito is super old and hard. I can't even keep the burrito closed it just keeps flapping back open. It's really sad, I don't even want to try and take it back at this point since I drove a little farther than my closest Bueno to check out this new one thinking the food would be better. No Bueno. (Now to go get more food elsewhere since I threw my burrito away and everyone else is still hungry)
This location has the worst customer service. Autumn, if you don't like your job, find a new one. I pulled up to the window, paid for my order, and requested extra salsa. I ordered a mexi dips and chips. Who doesn't want salsa with chips?! She told me it was in the bag, and walked off. Well, it was not in the bag. I waited a few minutes for her to come back, and asked again. To which she told me I only got two items. I said, I will pay for the extra hot sauce if that is what was necessary, but I still wanted it none the less. She told me to lose the attitude. Instead of giving attitude, I asked for her name so I could include it in my review. She rolled her eyes and told me to have a good day. I asked again, and she asked if I wanted to speak to her manager. I welcomed the opportunity. When the manager came over, I repeated that I wanted her name to include in my review. I had no idea a small container of salsa was such a big deal! If a customer wants salsa for their order, and there is a limit -SAY THAT. Tell the customer there is an extra charge. Do not tell me I only got two items and therefore the small container is sufficient. Ridiculous!
Got in the drive through at 9:52pm and there was a car waiting to be helped. After waiting a few minutes, they didn’t help him and the front door was locked. They aren’t supposed to close until 10. Wish we hadn’t wasted our gas driving there. They never did help either of us; not sure what time that other guy got there.
I payed $43 for a family of 3. Many items had very little meat. One taco had none. Literally lettuce and cheese on a tortilla. They are cutting too many corners and skimping too much on product. Not worth the $$$. I am no longer a customer. I won't go back.
I have been there 3 times. Opening day they got my order right. My second visit I ordered two big freaking burritos. I had to tell the girl who was taking my order 3 times what I wanted. I couldn't understand her and she definitely couldn't understand me cuz I ended with bean burritos. I didn't find out till I got home. The burrito wrapping were saturated with grease and the beans were hard and crusty. My third visit I ordered the same thing along with two soft tacos. I got two bean crusty burritos and the soft tacos had almost no meat in them. Sat in the drive thru for 30 and 40 minutes. Owner needs to have a talk with the employees or get new ones. This store will not be open long. Taco Casa in Keller is your best bet.
Worst customer service. Rude and cold skimpy food. I ordered 2 taco plates and asked for more than a sprinkle of cheese. The guy smirked and started talking to the other two. I asked for hot sauce and he told me I could make my own over there. I got home and all the ingredients were not in the tacos and very little of that. I was very upset. I went back and the young man smirked again and the girl said are you sure it’s not how you drove. Unbelievable. I said if you got home with a order like this you would be upset too. She said no because I’m not that picky. Unbelievable I will report to corporate office tomorrow and they will know who was working by my receipt. I recommend anyone with a bad experience to report to corporate if you would like to see changes made at this location. Reading other reviews I see I’m not the only one treated this way.
Online hours are incorrect. It shows 10 p.m. I was there at 9:05 p.m.
The taco shell were stale and we ordered a combo didn't want to give us our drinks for some reason. Sour cream in taco salad was spoiled. Terrible place to eat save your money go to another fast food.
The beans tasted sour, I couldn't hear the person in the drive thru, didn't ask if I wanted salsa, did not give me a fork even though I ordered a nacho salad, and I only got 2 napkins. I love taco bueno so this makes me sad. I don't think I'll be going back to this location.
Well another Bueno that will probably close down soon. Twice we tried to order food from DoorDash and they never respond so we had to cancel. If you try to call them the phone always says they are on the phone. It's like the employees are lazy teenagers that don't want to work so they run customers off. RIP my favorite fast food restaurant. Bueno is done for us.
My wife and I were pretty excited to have a new bueno in the area being the one on Rufe Snow is atrocious (Rude employees and terrible food). So we went in excited, but when we got home that dissipated rather quickly when we were missing half our food... and then the quality... new bueno same old food. Hard beans in the burrito, weird taste of meat and gross sauce on the whole lotta platta. I really love having two of the same place local that compete in careless cooking
No bueno - worst Taco Bueno, hands down. Beans and rice dry, overcooked, made everything they touched inedible. Beef burrito was awesome, however. Staff needs to pay more attention to detail :(
The lady at the window was frustrated with what we ordered and had the audacity to question us on why we ordered 10 chicken roll ups . Like what’s it to her , she gets paid to take orders and that’s it . She had a very bad attitude and it shouldn’t be like that when I go out to get food , I hope management can handle that employee and do the right thing . Very unprofessional
Seriously this is the most repulsive looking food I’ve ever seen in my life. The beans are dripping oil producing more oil as I sit and look at it, and the oil was covered all over my chips. The guacamole was just thrown in there, and then they gave me just random little pieces of chips.
I almost swallowed a piece of metal from the taco.i want a refund for my purchase.
slimy lettuce, WET taco shells (greasy meat?), and RED UNCOOKED portions of meat mixed into cooked meat. Disgusting 🤮 i’ll NEVER be back. i wish the photos showed how slimy the lettuce was.

Haven't been here before but I have to say that Taco Bueno is no bueno! The beef taco was bland and the meat looked and tasted suspicious. Needless to say, I didn't finish it. I also had a beef burrito that had a little more flavor because they added a sauce but it was twice the cost of the taco without any more fillings. Again, the meat was suspicious looking. So, I won't be coming back.
Haven’t eaten at Taco Bueno for 20 years +. Traveled back to Texas and was excited to see it’s still around. Unfortunately the quality of the food is terrible and the first thing the employee said when walking in the door was “thank for coming in and wasting my time” ignored it and ordered anyway only to find out the food was atrocious. Stay away there’s much better restaurants in the area, Taco Bell is better and I won’t eat that.
This manager is an absolute nightmare. To be scolded for having the audacity to show up 15 minutes after they open to order food because she has to go to the bank was an absolute joke. Don't post your hours of operation if you cannot fulfill orders. She is always extremely rude and unpleasant. Will joyfully drive 25 extra minutes to find a better Bueno.
That was the saltiest crunchy tacos we've ever had. Not edible at all. 3/4/2026 7-30pm
Food was not good, my nacho chips were all broken. They did not give us the receipt, we ask for the $6 dollar deal and they told us they didn’t have so they make us buy the same 4 things for the regular price. One more thing the closing time is at 10pm and by 9:10 they have the dining room close and the order online close!
