What Customers Say About Broadway Comedy Club
Broadway Comedy Club is a mixed bag. Many enjoy the comedy and strong, reasonably priced drinks, especially after Broadway shows. However, some find it crowded, a tourist trap due to street ticket sales, and complain about the two-drink minimum and pushy vendors.

Broadway Comedy Club Broadway Reviews
My wife and I love going to comedy clubs, but this was the first time we’d been to BCC. We went on a Thursday night in August, we found a useful discount on the BroadwayTix app. It was a smallish crowd, but the comics were saw were all pretty good and some really stood out. The host was the very funny Troy Bond (it just sounds like a fake name, he said). Standard two-drink minimum... The kitchen was under inspection the night we visited, so no snacks for sale. My one complaint about all comedy clubs (where we are exposed to 6-7 comics in two hours) is that they make no effort for us to remember (or even hear properly) the names of the performers. The Voice of God says the host’s name too fast; the host says each comic’s name too fast; the comics say their names at the end too fast. I only know the host’s name because is asked him by shouting from the seats. Some of us would love to follow some of these folks on social, hear about their careers, find YouTube clips, search for comedy albums, etc. NO SUCH LUCK! Please work on this, comedy clubs! Otherwise, a fun night for both of us.
Gentle, engaging comedians made for a lovely evening. Most of the performers were rookies honing their craft - glad to see them given opportunities. The show was good value and recommended
Family oriented show - Mostly parents and children. Wonderfully done with a little comedy and lots of audience participation. Magic tricks were straightforward and done in a minimalist setting - no loud music, or smoke and mirrors- My 8 year old companion and I both thoroughly enjoyed the one hour respite from the midtown chaos. The magicians both remained for photos with the kids afterwards. Highly recommended if you’re a family looking for a live show for everybody at a reasonable cost
Super fun improvisation show. Played to audience so can go anywhere. Bottomless Bunch: Wit n Wild Improv Comedy - comedians were super funny - I don't know why it is a bottomless brunch because I do not know what was bottomless and the food was very very simple like microwave pizza or white castle. The drinks were really good. All was reasonably priced for what it was so not disappointed.
Lowkey drinks were expensive but it's a comedy club. Comedians were super funny last night, audience has 0 energy. They made the best of it though
I’m visiting NYC for the first time and this was one of my stops! I purchased tickets from Samanthia in Times Square. First off she was amazing and things were just as she stated. We stopped in earlier then our showtime and met a comedian who provided free seats to us. The drinks were great!!! I’ll definitely visit again
We bought tickets from Tony in Times Square, we were a little skeptical at first but we did it anyway. We got to the club about 30 minutes early and were sat right up front, everyone was absolutely hilarious and we especially loved the MC, whose name I unfortunately don’t remember, Audrey Moore, and Crenshaw. We will definitely be visiting next time we come to the city. It was the perfect end to our trip!
Great show, we had a great time. Bought the tickets from a street vendor, who was very informative and gave great recommendations. Even ended up changing my reservation for an early show and that also went very smoothly. As for the 2 drink minimum, I was expecting $20 per drink, I was wrong. The drinks only cost $11 and they were not watered down. Best Value in town for a night on the town. I highly recommend the Broadway Comedy Club.
Great comedy show for a Saturday night. We had a great compere and some serious funny comics.. Nice intimate setting, but with great views throughout the venue. The cocktails pack a punch. Would really recommend this place if you are visiting NYC (you may be offered tickets on Times Square so keep an eye out for that!)
Put this on your list anytime you come to NYC! $25 entry with two drink minimum. Long Island Ice Teas are only ~$10!!! Downstairs venue is dark and brutalist design - very cool. A little tight but still comfortable. MC and other acts were great and constantly involved the audience. I could not stop laughing! (I would come back even to just watch the MC that dude is 10/10 funny!)
We had a great time don’t let any of the other reviews tell you otherwise. Yes drinks are somewhat expensive but this is midtown manhattan, what else do you expect. They gotta make money somehow. Included tip tho is not great. 5/7 comedians were really good. Try to negotiate the price if you get it from a promoter we got two for 40 instead of 60. It was a good night.
An Unforgettable Night Full of Laughs! I had the BEST time at Broadway Comedy Club! From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and kept everything running smoothly. The lineup of comedians was hilarious — each act brought their own unique energy, and the crowd was loving it the entire night. I laughed so hard I cried! The venue had a great vibe, intimate but lively, and the drinks were reasonably priced for a NYC spot. It’s the perfect place for date night, a birthday celebration, or just a spontaneous night out with friends. If you’re in the city and looking for a fun, feel-good night, this is the place to be. Can’t wait to come back!
This is a fun club with two show rooms running shows. The upstairs room is a more intimate experience and the down stairs room is big and fun! The comics are great.
I love and enjoy this Comedy club. Every Comedians was good. My hat off to them all!! Some reviews I read before going kind of turned me off. But my experience with my friends was awesome & Fantastic The service was great even though they have 2 drinks policy. I recommend the club to anyone who looking for a good laugh and night out to chill. Ps Here is me with my friends and 3 of the Comedians 💕
Great sets of performers and a nice variety of seasoned veterans and new talent. Drinks were very affordable and well made
Great club and very affordable for both tickets and beverages or snacks. 2 drink minimum like most places, and I couldn't get confirmation if a bottle of water counts. Regardless, I had 2 long islands, so I was in the zone and ready to giggle. This club is comprised of long group tables, so be ready to sit and laugh with strangers. Very excited to add BCC and that family into my wife and i's club rotation. This is in hells kitchen, so there are a lot of great restaurants in the area as well to get food and drink before or after to keep the fun times flowing
As a last minute decision, my boyfriend and I went to this comedy club. We called and they said they take walk ins, which they do. But, I would arrive 30 minutes before the start time as it becomes packed super quick. 4/5 of the comedians were super funny. I had a good time. They have a rule where you have to buy two drinks minimum per person, but the drinks were cheaper around 6-10$ compared to nyc usual 15$ drinks so I didn’t mind. My boyfriend said the drinks were super strong too and we both had a great time. The seats were super close together to everyone though which is one negative since I got accidentally kicked a few times so just be spacially aware of your seats. They also had this viral TikTok guy which was cool to see in person. I would definitely come again!
Had my first NYC comedy experience here. We failed to come early but staff didn't give us grief for it fortunately. Just quickly got us seated and served. There was a 2 drink min as part of admission I believe, which I was cool with. Comedians were of high quality. One of the best comedy nights I've attended ever, I'd expect no less from NYC!
I had a great time at the venue! Ordering food and drinks were pretty seamless as well. Great customer service. And the performing comedian was so personable!
This is actually one of my favorite comedy clubs that I’ve been to. I’ve been to it three times and they always have such a diverse lineup of comics, Some returning and some that I’ve seen for the first time, and the vibes are always really great. They even have the comics doubling up on responsibilities such as being check-in clerks or servers, which is a nice little surprise once you see the person who served you your drink run up on the stage to tell a joke.
I saw Armando Anto here, a highly talented comic. Even with the two drink minimum, the ticket prices were so reasonable for such a talent. Will definitely check out their lineup more often.
Walking through time square we were stopped by a guy holding a comedy central sign, and decided to buy 4 tickets costing 100$ total, we were told there was a 2 drink minimum per person and told a few names of people performing (don't think they were, dosnt matter who as long as whoevers was is making us laugh) once back to the hotel I was reading some review we started to feel stressed we may not love the experience. We went to the 11pm show on a Wed, myself, my husband, and our children 17 and 14. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The comedians were absolutely hilarious!! The host was also a hilarious, super fun, friendly environment. I felt safe walking to the area. The daiquiris and mojitos were fabulous. I wish they had a list of the comedians' info to copy on your way out so we can give them a follow! Highly recommend adding this to your things to do in NYC!
Ok so we were super skeptical with all the reviews however, we decided to go! The comedians were so funny. The drink minimum is 2 and prices ranging from $6 for non alcoholic beverages up to $13 for the most expensive drink. The comedian lasted almost two hours. We would go back. It was a fun night out!
What a cool place. We would not have known about it if our hotel didn't have tickets for us. I wish it was little longer though. But still worth it.
Based off the reviews i thought it was gonna be junky but i actually loved it! The location wasn’t at all dingy (see pictures) and was decorated so nicely! The performers were so sweet and funny (they were the ones that were advertised to us). So if you’re like me and you’re debating whether or not you should attend you definitely should!
Walking down Times Square, we were asked if we fancied seeing some comedy that night, so on a bit of a whim we bought tickets. We headed over to the Broadway Comedy Club and went downstairs for the 11pm show — and I’ve got to say, the comedy we watched was incredible. There were two Australian comedians, one hosting and one performing, and both were so, so funny. Sharp, confident, and had the whole room laughing throughout. The atmosphere was brilliant and it felt like a proper New York comedy club experience. I would definitely recommend anyone coming to America to go and watch these fantastic comedians — an absolute highlight of the trip.
Although the venue is definitely on the sardine side and everyone ends up pretty packed together, I honestly don’t have many complaints. The food menu was small, but everything we tried hit the spot and the prices were super reasonable. The drinks were also way cheaper and way stronger than expected, so you really get your money’s worth. If you want a good view, I highly recommend getting there early; otherwise, you might end up squeezed into a back corner like I did. But overall, I was really happy with my experience and would absolutely go back!
Broadway Comedy Club New York City Comedy Club, located near Times Square and the Broadway Theater District. Easy access by public transportation or car. Shows nightly. Purchased tickets from Times Square it was a good series and level of comedy acts. Check it out if in the Broadway District.
It was awesome! We were nervous and weren't really feeling up for it after a 10 hours trip into New york. We got sat in the very front and we weren't super thrilled to be possibly involved in the show. But they were so funny, and interactive with the crowd. They really helped us relax. We even had a heckler that whole show and each performer did a wonderful job handling them in there own way. Best part was they were laughing at there own jokes! The host was so funny himself and full of life! 10/10 worthwhile experience! We will be going back!
Incredible acts, great drinks. 2 drink minimum and 25% gratuity automatically is a little steep, but definitely worth the price of admission
We had a great time. Tickets were 30$ each which we bought from a guy named Scott in Times Square. When you buy the ticket, you can use it for any time they have shows, which are clearly labelled on the ticket. It’s also made very clear that you have to buy at least two drinks during the show. They have both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available on the menu. I got the frozen margaritas, which I would recommend on a hot summer day. We went on a Monday night. There was 6 different comics, all very different styles, personalities, and jokes. Some did very well and had the crowd engaged, and some not so well as it was quiet and their sets were cut short. I guess this is how it goes as it was clear some comics were trying out different material to see what works and what doesn’t. It’s all part of the experience in my books. Don’t forget to follow Brian Scott McFadden on instagram, his set almost made me pee my pants 😂
I went there to see cousin Tiera. My friend brought us tickets to attend. I've never heard of her before, but I tell you this, she is freaking hilarious and authentic. It was worth every penny she made me forget about how tight the seats are in that place. It was another comedy call uncle something. I cant remember his stage name, but he was very funny also. Moreover, I wouldn't purchase food from there it didn't look appetizing. Some people food came out cold. It's a two drink minimum per person. The drinks were cool. I had strawberry margaritas. Do like I did and eat before you get there!!! It is plenty of nice restaurants, diners and bars around there.
We Bought tickets from this really nice chubby black dude with braids in Times Square. We went to the club with no expectations, and really enjoyed our time! The comedians were hilarious. One star off because the servers were really persistent on the two drinks minimum rule! It was a bit of a mood killer..
Quick and cheap entertainment for a night We went to the 11pm show and the comedians advertised were not the ones in the line up because we tried to find them after … Jokes were funny got a bunch of laughs out of us! MC for the night was a really funny girl she should consider her own standup show! Overall good time 2 drink minimum a
We purchased tickets online for a Sunday 7pm show. There was a good line up of comedians and we had a great time. I would definitely recommend the place for anyone looking for laughs on a day out in NYC! Couple of things to note : - Two drinks minimum - Gratuity added to the bill - we didn't realize untill one of our friends pointed it out to us so we don't add more when signing the bill - Service fees for credit card! ( Dint know they expected us to carry cash ) Response to owner : our bill included $6+ dollars of service fees and when l asked the waitress about it she said it is credit card processing fees. So either you are not aware of the charges or you are not providing the correct information online.
We got tickets from a rep for the club while strolling through Times Square for $40. This was our second visit. I'd advise you to arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime. It's a small, cozy venue that's been around for a while. The venue is located within walking distance from Times Square. There's a two drink minimum. The service was good, but it took a bit to get served due to there being two servers for our show. The drinks were good and not too pricey. We enjoy comedy shows quite often, and I must say we really had a good time during both visits to the Big Apple. The local talent put on a good show. We recognized at least 5 of the comedians from our visit last year, and they didn't disappoint. It's a good time for friends, lovers, and first-timers to come out and enjoy raw stand-up comedy. We'll most definitely be returning.
We attended the World Comedy Show on February 25th after purchasing tickets online. We had read many negative reviews, so we contacted the venue via email. Rich, a representative from the venue, assured us that our experience would be fine. We arrived 20 minutes before the show and were promptly seated in the side front row. We were repeatedly informed that we needed to order at least two drinks. We ordered both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and we found them to be adequate. The wine quantity was generous, and the cocktails were strong and delicious. There was only one server, but he was efficient. The bathrooms were clean and located downstairs. Although the show was sold out, we were not squeezed. Overall, we enjoyed our experience. However, I would give it four stars instead of five because of the 25% automatic tips which is still excessive. If you’re a local, I recommend coming here. But if you’re a tourist and you’re pushed to purchase tickets at Times Square, you’ll be shocked to see the 2 drink minimum and the 25% automatic gratuity. Please consider this before purchasing your tickets. I love to return when any of our friends perform here!
You know what i think this place was kinda funny. My boyfriend and i are currently in NYC visiting from AUS. We were walking through time square when a guy name papa john approached us and gave us two tickets for this place and said give me any money and you can have it soooo we only had $3usd on us in cash lol and he accepted it and off we went. We were sitting at dinner reading all the negative reviews second guessing if this was the best $3usd we have ever spent but tbh it was worth every bit of that $3usd i can understand why people would be annoyed by paying a ridiculous amount of money on the street for it and then getting here and having to pay for two drinks plus a 25% tip mandatory but for us the night in the end cost us $33usd for drinks plus $3usd for tickets so it was completely worth it. The comedians weren’t hilarious but they weren’t horrible. They all had the room laughing at least one part of their sets. Moral of the story if you are paying $30+usd for tickets it is not worth it. Just bargin bargin bargin and it is so worht it.
We showed up kinda early but not ridiculous early and was told we couldnt wait in line there, so we had to leave. When we came back the place was packed and super crowded & dark inside. Clean bathroom, Long rows of close community table seating. Comfy chairs. 2 drink minimum. Id recommend to stick with th n/a drinks here and save your money for cocktails after your comedy show, however the service was efficient especially for how many ppl were inside. Each comedian (5) had a different vibe and all of them did their job to make me laugh. They all also made my close neighbor laugh really loud which I may have thought was funnier than them.
Staff was good and friendly, out of 8 comedians, 1 was excellent, 2 were good, the others not so much and even worse than that. We were also overstuffed, I guess they sold about 20 tickets more than it fits in the room, the waiter was constantly bumping into us and apologizing. All in all an interesting NY experience
We "got got" but it was enjoyable. Check it out for local and rising comedians. Wouldn't have paid the amount we paid had I known what I know now but not the worst experience. Just beware it seemed like a tourist trap for anyone getting tickets from the street salesperson. Also, be prepared for the 2 drink minimum per person with gratuity and extra tip.
I went to a comedy club for the first time and really enjoyed myself! Went for a Troy Bond showing, and the atmosphere was great for all the comedians that came before him. I had two non-alcoholic Shirley Temples for $12 in total since I ate before I came (the gratuity on the bill is automatically applied as well as taxes btw so it came out to $15) but they offer little bites on the menu if you do feel hungry. Not too expensive either, I think, for the choices on that. However, a bottle of water for $6 is crazy! Just bring your own in your bag from the 7/11 across the street for that.
Very easy to buy tickets online. The drinks are surprisingly well priced, especially for NYC. The comedians are okay so the variety is very helpful. While not a tourist trap, I thought there were a lot of tourists at the show—most if these tourists were not problematic. I am cutting slack for so-so crowd work because of the tourists. Don’t get the frozen margaritas. They melt quite a bit before they get to your seat and taste like straight up sour mix. I suggest arriving earlier so you don’t get seated half on the stage.
7 acts, 2 were good, 5 not good at all. There is a policy of you need to buy 2 drinks which is persued relentlessly. Drinks are expensive. I think other options would be better!
The show was fun, but don’t forget about the 2drink minimum. My beers were also 1$ more than were listed on the menu, which I did bring to the venues attention.
We enjoyed the show, however seating was tight. If there were 2 less chairs at each table, it would have been more comfortable. Glad I didn't order food, ackward eating so close to the person next to you. There's a 2 drink minimum per person, drinks are reasonably priced. Only 2 bathrooms, by the end of the night they got a little messy & no mirror. I thought the show was too long, over 2 hours, hard to pay attention for that long,!
Lots of different comedians in the show. Small Red room that was over booked and not all chairs face the stage. Half of the 10 comedians were funny and other not so much. There is 2 drink minimum. The drinks were just ok. Service was good. I would NOT go back or recommend it. I would try another place for comedy.
Came to see a friend’s show. The room is pretty great, many seats and screens so you can see the comedians even from far away. I’ll say, the 2 drinks minimum per person - while customary - was a bit much on top of tickets… $6 water. Come on. And service was kinda awful, I don’t blame them, must be a rough job but it was really unpleasant.
The club itself was alright. It’s in a basement, which is fine. But they have you line up to enter from the top of the stairs, so you have to squeeze past everyone to get to the top in order to go down in order. Most drinks are $11 so a 2 drink minimum for 2 people would be about $44- except it’s going to cost you $60 minimum for mandatory gratuity regardless of group size plus extra fees. Only tried the margarita and it was awful so I’d recommend just getting beers. Aside from that, the energy in there was great. Comics were hit and miss but that’s definitely just part of it. Left content.
The club is tucked away a few blocks from Times Square. The show I saw had 6 or so comics of varying ability. It is a very small space, and a required 2 drink minimum (alcoholic or non). Would come back again, but keep expectations moderate. These are going to be up and coming comic stars, not headliners today.
Is this the place to find new and upcoming comedians? No. But they are definitely trying their hardest. The performances were hit and miss. The biggest problem was the bartending staff. It was like 3 people for a room of 60. No introduction, no follow up. We were barely able to hit the 2-drink minimum because you have to wave down the bartenders like you're drowning. But... for $30 a person, it's not the worst thing to do in NYC.
The show itself was fun; however, the food and drink service significantly took away from the experience. We ordered our food and drinks before the show started, but the food arrived very late despite reminding the staff three separate times that we had not yet received it. Although our server told us we would not be charged for the food, we ultimately were still charged.
I purchased a ticket from a vendor in Time Square for $30. The street vendor really oversold the caliber of this show. If you have a local Looney Bin this show is the same feel. We were told the show was going to start at 10:30, and it didn't begin until 11. There is a minimum 2 drink minimum requirement that customers have to buy and they automatically add a 25% gratuity to each purchase. This was not mentioned when the ticket was sold. The lowest price drink is $6 and those are non-alcoholic. There were a few good comedians. If I had known it was going to be $30+$17+ for drinks, would I have went to this show? No! This most definitely seems like a tourists trap. If you have nothing else to do and have money to burn, attend this show.
It’s fine, but nothing special. The place has that classic underground New York comedy vibe, which is cool, but the lineup the night I went just didn’t land. A few laughs here and there, but not the kind of show you leave talking about. Drinks were decent and the staff was friendly, but overall it felt more like a tourist stop than a true comedy hotspot. Not a bad way to spend an hour in the city, just don’t expect to be rolling in the aisles.
Good night out enjoying some amateur and upcoming comics within an intimate NYC Manhattan setting. Table service for drinks is appreciated but give the subpar food a miss. This place has potential if they had a proper bar with honest drink prices. On the night I attended the comics were borderline ok, entry was $12.50 via TodayTix for 11pm Late Night Laughs. Basic drinks at venue are $8-$10 as of June 2018.
It is always scary when you buy tickets from a guy on the street but i did anyway. I got 2 tickets for $40 (fair price) The stage room was very Dark and you sit very close to the other people. The show was allright some of the comedians was very funny. A thing that annoyed me very much was the staff, wanting me to pay while the comedian was on stage - wait till the show is over guys! It ruin the jokes.
It was good experiance, but the practise is not fair. Street promoter sold me a ticket without notifying me that i have to purchase two drinks. That should have Been said. After notyfing stuff in the local i have Been told that i have to look for a guy that sold me ticket and get refund there. The guy most likely finished his work as the last show was about to start
12/30/25 Love comedy. Was told my favorite comedian Dave Attell was in. He was not. Tourist trap. I bought my ticket from ticket pusher around Times Square
Got tickets to this place from someone talking about it outside about a block away. Definitely felt like a tourist trap once inside. We got the tickets at $25 each, the person originally started at $30 each. The catch is it’s a 2 drink minimum. The cheapest drink is $6, which is water and sodas. Waitress was rude and didn’t end up giving me my change or final receipt at the end of the night. All of the comics got a laugh out of us but only about half were really funny. The comics advertised to be there were not there.
The place looks nice and it is well organized with nice tables and chairs. It is also set in a way that everyone can view the stage. However, the comedians are painfully bad! I probably squeeze a laugh from one of the comedians and that was see. The two minimum drink didn’t bother me, as this is a standard on any comedy club in New York, and the drinks are not over priced. So that doesn’t bother me.
TWO DRINK MINIMUM PER PERSON at this venue. and even if u don’t want anything ur pressured to order. they will hustle u. there were no signs outside that said this and i had already paid for another comedy event. so everyone ended up getting $6 bottles of water which is absolute robbery. two drinks is crazy.
Was here today. I kinda feel scammed tbh as the guys outside selling tickets are wearing comedy central apparel but don‘t seem to be associated. After paying 60 whopping dollars the guy asked for a tip like 5 times and was like you dont have to but repeated so often that i tipped someone for selling me something within 10 seconds. the guy said its around the corner on broadway but was like a 20 minute walk to hell’s kitchen. once arrived we ordered two mandatory drinks of 11 dollars each and had a 25 percent tip on it which was mandatory. comedians were mid, vin diesel guy was funny as he talked like 30 minutes about wanting to bang a lady from the audience. guy with straight hair and side comb was the most unfunniest comedy ever as he talked about periods and chickens so noone laughed. black dude was sympathic rest trash. total bill for 1 1/2 hrs 125 dollars total. could have watched aladin instead or real broadway actually one star but vin diesel was actually funny rest not so much….. sorry but honest opinion and facts. Can‘t recommend.
Just like the other reviews mentioned, we were scammed by the guy in Times Square who promised that a famous comedian would be performing. Once we arrived and were made to queue up the stairs, it quickly became obvious that the comedian wasn't going to be there. We stayed anyway since we had already paid. Some of the comedians were decent, but others were terrible. There's also a two drink minimum, which ended up costing us an extra $44.
Just go there. You'll get the two star rating. But I must say two stars is adequate for a comedy club where you're not going to see anybody. You're willing to spend 40 bucks cuz you want to have a "comedy night"with your friend. It's good enough for that
Very disappointed!! Whole set up for paying your drinks bill takes attention away from the comedy stage. Just get people to pay after show finished not half way through. Maybe I just got unlucky but the acts tonight just weren't funny, and that was reflected throughout the audience. Lots of room for improvement.
Not worth it , waste of money & time People leaving mid-show & you have to pay for minimum 2 drinks per person. Not recommended
Its a scam!! When buying the tickets they told us Seth MacFarlane would be there and also other famous comediens, but they were not!!! Instead there were comediens in a small room being rude to the audience and not funny at all!! And for that we paid 100$ for 2 people, because we also had to pay 2drinks each person. It was a very depressing evening, cant recommend..
Honestly starting out I’m completely displeased by the whole situation. The guy selling the tickets made this sound like a great deal, well it is a 2 DRINK MINIMUM! Said it was right down the road, it was a 20 min walk. He told us the show time was at at 10:30, we got there at 10:28, the guy said not till 11, so we tried to wait… he told us we cannot do that and we had to go somewhere else. We are not from here, this is a dark street I didn’t know where else to go. A group of people walked up and he literally let them in the line that he told me I could not be in. I am disgusted by your business practices and treatment of guests, I literally asked him what the catch was!
This was painfully bad. Two drink minimum, they will chase you down if you try to leave without/before buying the drinks and will kick you out if you decide to not order any. I ordered a lemonade, but received a sprite with lemons in it. I complained and got squeeze lemon and water. I’m going during NYC comedy festival and the comedians were painfully, awkwardly not funny .
Terrible. Our tickets included 2 drinks. We had no free drinks we had to buy 2 drinks each. My son was sick abd only drank water but we were charged ridiculous price. The worse part was the lady was rude she knew I said wr have 2 drinks with our ticket and she ignored that and said yes downstairs. When she was questioned she was totally angry dishonest and truely ruined the whole experience. I advise anyone to not attend this. Ugly dishonest and no love. Don't go
Overpriced: $40 for 2 plus $50 for 4 drinks. Entry should be free as they are unknown comedians (typical audience jokes) and the seller promised known comedians. Don't buy tickets on the street.
This place hirers scammers to sell tickets to their hole in the wall smelly venue with a bunch of unknown comedians. We bought tickets from an employee of theirs because we were told Pete Davidson would be there 3 times. He was not there, it was very disappointing. I wish I would have done research before we bought our tickets. What a waste of $80. Out of the 7 comedians only 2 of them were even funny. This man said he performed Wednesdays at 3 usually. It’s illegal to do false advertising like this to get people to come to your club and the amount of other reviews having this exact thing happen to them is not okay.
Normally, I never leave reviews anywhere, but I felt I had to after visiting this place today—it was a horrible experience. The comedian was fantastic, but the service at the venue was truly awful, and I will never come back. First of all, the policy that every person is forced to order a minimum of two drinks is ridiculous. You’re already paying for the ticket to the show—being forced into two drinks on top of that is absurd. And the drinks themselves? Honestly, they’re terrible. I ordered a Moscow Mule, and what I got was basically a flavored soda—absolutely nothing like a real Moscow Mule. What bothered me the most, though, was the way the staff handled payment. In the middle of the stand-up set, without you asking, they bring the check and immediately start pressuring you to hand over your card to close the bill. From the moment the check hits the table until the show ends, they keep coming back and hovering until you pay. It’s pushy, distracting, and completely ruins the experience. I watched tonight as the servers went up to every table where the card hadn’t been put down yet, insisting over and over that people needed to leave their cards. This constant interruption pulls your attention away from the show—you can’t fully listen to the jokes or enjoy yourself because you’re focused on the unnecessary pressure from the staff. On top of that, the two-drink minimum is not only unfair but incredibly tacky. They repeat it before the show starts, it’s printed on signs, and it’s even plastered across the servers’ uniforms. It couldn’t be more obvious that this place is just a money grab. Great performer, but the venue itself? Absolutely not worth it.
Very congested seating. The quality of comics was positively meh. Two drinks minimum, which is standard in most clubs. However, the drink menu is very limited. No whisky or scotch of any kind, either.
Tourist trap. Really doesn’t set you in the mood to laugh and enjoy Annoying things: - 2 drinks minimum rule and can’t order food instead of drinks (why?!?) - 25% tips automatically added to your bill - credit card surcharge on food and drinks And you have already paid a ticket when you find out all of this
The worst! NEVER AGAIN! I feel totally ripped of! They promote with some big names but you get some terrible rookie comedians in an even worse venue! After the 4th that didnt made me laugh i left. They say the venue has the famous brick wall but it looks like its falling apart and probably got rats. The show is in some shady dark musty basement. And they force you to buy 2 drinks, i paid 16 dollars for 2 bottles of water. After 30 dollars for the ticket! Waitress was rude and kept asking every 5 min to buy my 2nd even though i left early i had to buy 2. Nobody was helpful or even friendly. DONT GO HERE!
Wanted to go up and tell the street seller they fleeced us after the show but didn't want to make a big deal and impact our holiday. This was terrible experience struggled to find the place wish we hadn't, only got 1 star because there wasn't a no star option.(Probably funnier joke than we heard) Crazy money alot better options in New York Street seller wearing comedy Central T-shirt nothing to do with it, Talking about Jimmy Fallon and American Dad voice comics, and Netflix specials pure lies.
We purchased tickets for this show from a street vendor. It sounds good at first, because the tickets are flexible. But when we went last night the show was terrible. Our first comedian was the only one who made us laugh. The next three made my wife and I cringe at the poor attempts at humor. On top of that the staff was not very friendly, and when we went to close out or ticket for the 2 drink minimum we found out there is a mandatory 25% gratuity charge. We will never go here again. Save yourself some time and money and do something else in NYC.
I purched a ticket from a vendor on the streets that is wearing comedy central t shirts so i thought im definitely going to have a laugh. He even begged me for a tip. Went there amd honestly one of the worst attempts at comedy i ever heard. Every single person who attempted a joke was not even funny, honestly it was cringe. It was advertised as a 2 drinks minimum but the 1 thing that really annoyed me is the automatic 25% gratuity that they add. The person brought over some drinks, its not rocket science. Now i understand its americans culture to tip everything which is fine but don't force it on a bill after a poor night of comedy.
The place have good comedians but this is just a scam that they ask you to get drinks. I bought tickets online and there was nothing mentioned like minimum two drinks. Since I'm non alcoholic I had to buy water which costed me $6 each. They need to mention that when you are buying the tickets. Furthermore the place smells disgusting and their no cleanliness and maintenance of the place.
Don't go there. Just don't. It is a scam. They don't care about your experience or the artists, they only care about forcing 2 mandatory drinks into your throats. They FORCE YOU to add 25% automatic tips which is illegal and immoral. The 2 drinks mandatory is written on the tickets, the walls, the menu, the host is telling you, the receptionnist is tellinf you. And since tipping is forced, service is obviously shitty
We were stopped on Broadway by a guy selling tickets, claiming it was for famous comedians. When I showed interest, he suddenly turned super rude. I asked where the venue was, and he said, “Oh, just around the corner, 50 meters away.” Yeah right. It was actually quite a long walk. Once inside, we ordered drinks only to find out afterwards there’s a two-drink minimum. The waiter kept interrupting us at least five times, pushing us to buy more drinks even though we hadn’t even finished the first one. It was honestly ridiculous. The staff was rude, the comedians were painfully unfunny, and the whole place just gave off a shady, tourist-trap vibe. Save your money and your time this place is a total rip-off.
First scam I've experienced on my trip here. I was approached in Times Square by a representative selling tickets for the Broadway Comedy Club and was given several pieces of information that turned out to be inaccurate, which unfortunately set the tone for the entire evening. I was told the show started at 10.30 pm, when in reality it didn’t begin until after 11pm. I was also told the venue was a five-minute walk, when it ended up being closer to 15 minutes. While these may seem minor, they contributed to a frustrating start, especially late at night. Once inside, we were informed there was a two-drink minimum, with drinks priced around $12 each, despite being told beforehand they would be $6 (juice and soft drink only). To make matters worse, an additional 25% gratuity was automatically added to the bill at the end of the evening. This significantly increased the total and was a real mood killer once the bills arrived - both myself and the people I had made friends with decided to leave. Unfortunately, even the comedy itself didn’t make up for the experience. The performances were incredibly average, and nothing stood out remotely enough to justify the misleading information and unexpected costs. Overall, the lack of transparency around pricing, timing and policies overshadowed the entire visit. I would strongly advise others to ask very specific questions and double-check details before purchasing tickets on the street.
Dear Tourists - do NOT go to this comedy club. There are so many better clubs in our fine city, so please don’t get duped into thinking this club has the best to offer in comedy during your visit. The staff is rude, the drinks are terrible, the seating is like being in a cafeteria (in the basement stage, that is) and the run of show is the worst I’ve ever seen. This has nothing to do with the comedians - I have a soft spot for anyone brave enough to do what they do. Rather, this review is on the club itself. Please don’t get sucked into this tourist trap. Go to the West Village instead. Or the East Village. Hell, go ANYWHERE but here. Sincerely, a New Yorker with experience.
Spoke to a guy in Time Square about the tickets. He was a lovely person, so we bought two tickets to have a good night at a comedy club. We now feel, after being there, it was not worth the money we spent! Once in the building, we asked about the pricing for the drinks (we are from the UK so we were not use to ordering drinks that don’t include tax in the price). The woman told us that the price listed was the price including tax. For our four soft drinks the total was $33, and that also includes a 25% gratuity - despite the menu listing the gratuity as 20%. We never mind leaving tips for servers…However the service we received was below satisfactory! We are fully aware of the 2 drink MINIMUM that was required in this comedy club, as it is with most bars and clubs in New York City. That does not mean that after 2 drinks have been ordered, we are handed our bill and are harassed every 5 minutes to pay our bill while the show was still on. This constant interruption lead to us missing a portion of the show for us trying to explain we would pay at the end once the show was done! We had the intention of having more drinks, but we felt that we were not wanted in this establishment. We were given complimentary tickets to return because of the problem we were having tonight, but we are not sure about returning because of the way we were treated, despite being paying customers just wanting to see a comedy show.
Comedic were cool enjoyed the show but don't pay anything in cash. I handed the employee 80 dollars for a 78 dollar check (4 drinks and salsa and chips) the employee took my cash, walked away and turn around and said I only gave him 40. Which btw I walked out the house with 100 and spend 20, so when the bill came I was happy and my person was going to tip. Watch out for the slide of hand employees.
Purchased tickets from street seller,,I think he was funnier than the comedians we were ‘entertained’ by. Tickets were overpriced for the quality and ‘time’ the show provided. Personally it’s a money making tourist trap. Any comedy club worth its pinch of salt would not kick you out for the ‘next’ performance. Really felt more about making money than proving value for it. The drinks are terribly overpriced $6 for a small bottle of water or other sift drinks, menus clearly states 20% gratuity but bill added 25% yet another way of screwing the customer! Overpriced & Underwhelmed, save your money and try find better comedy club elsewhere.
This place is a SCAM! They take you in Times Square with a sign of Comedy Central. When you get to the place, there is no Comedy Central anywhere. It’s broadway comedy club. The drinks are overpriced and they make you pay a 25% gratuiti. So you end up paying like 30$ (the entrance) + 2 drinks (12 each) plus 25% + tax. That’s like 75$ for the WORST COMEDY SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN. Please go to a broadway show instead. Look at the video if you don’t believe me… 😂
Got scammed on the street with tickets. Showing Comedy Central logos and a map with big comedians. Saying original tickets are 60 but selling for 30. In the end got 2 for 30 but that’s still way too much for what you are getting. Instead of proven comedians like promised you get a bunch of nobody’s bombing. Out of all the comedians during the evening, only 1 bald roided guy got the crowd going and the “headliner” who no one heard of and only played for 5 min. All the rest where almost painful to watch. Also a 2 drink minimum as mentioned. Adding ontop of the bill. This should be advertised as an openmic of amateur comedians. Not sold as big names. Very dishonest place and sales practices.
A dishonest & sketchy joint. They send guys out to Times Square with Comedy Central shirts on to get you to buy a $30 ticket (per person), tell you it’s a 7 minute walk to the club. When you finally get there it’s a hole in the wall place where you have to buy two mandatory expensive drinks (cheap soda and spirits) to watch the show. The comedians don’t deserve that. Total spent was $100 dollars for two of us that we couldn’t get back, and poor comedy at best. The comics were interrupted so many times, by the guy selling drinks, that they couldn’t get their flow out. Don’t go here.
