Sears Fine Food is a true San Francisco classic! you can really feel the history and charm the moment you walk in. I had the spinach omelet with extra mushrooms and an orange juice, everything was amazing. The omelet was perfectly cooked, fresh, and flavorful. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Love this historic spot - definitely a must-visit when you’re in SF!

Can't fault this at all. In a city and country where food prices seem to be soaring, this spot is still offering reasonably priced and perfectly prepared breakfasts. Ambience is classic, service was polite, prompt and professional, and the smoked salmon benedict perfectly prepared. With a tomato juice to accompany it...and excellent start to the day. Thank you Sears Fine Food!

We enjoyed our nostalgic breakfast experience here (open since 1939)! Great mocha coffee with whipped cream, great fruit bowl, great fresh eggs, great hash browns (a little mushy in the middle), great bacon and great sausage. One of the best breakfasts we've had. Also, great service and music of the era too!

Visited Sears earlier this week for a birthday breakfast. Fist time we have been at Sears since 2013, and it is still delicious! We are only in town here every so often, so to have a solid place like Sears with such longevity means a lot. The place was packed, and we had a small 10 minute wait, but as always, well worth it. The swedish pancakes are bomb! Be sure to get the lingonberries to compliment. My go to is usually the corned beef and poached eggs. So tasty and savory. Pair all of this with some fresh hot coffee and a fruit bowl, and we had a wonderful breakfast. Although it was busy, the wait staff was on point. Everything was served timely and with a friendly attitude. We love Sears! It will always be a place that we visit when in town. Definitely check Sears out! We highly recommend!

This place has been around for a long time, and it shows in the best way, with authentically old pieces all over the interior. The food is excellent if a little pricey (but what isn't pricey in this city?) and the service is fast and friendly.

Sears Fine Food has been serving San Francisco since 1938, an absolute institution just off Union Square. The 18 famous pancakes, light, fluffy, absolute heaven in every bite. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, perfectly poached, silky salmon, hollandaise with just the right tang. And that thick-cut bacon, crispy on the outside, meaty and rich inside, proper bacon! Everything executed spot-on. A classic San Francisco gem still at its finest. Absolutely amazing.

Firstly visited in 2014 and enjoyed great breakfast with the family. In 2025, returned to buy their pancakes mix, which is winning and delicious, for home cooking. Thanks for keeping up and sustaining such a nice historic place for several decades.

Wow, we had some of the best food of our lives here. The NY strip, lobster ravioli and the Lee's egg's Benedict the next morning for breakfast. We stayed at the chancellor hotel which is literally next door. I must for the food and old world atmosphere if you're making a stop in San Francisco

Simply delightful. Staff were wonderful and service was quick. The pancakes were fantastic, not overbearing with sweetness and the syrup paired perfectly with them. The eggs and hashbrowns hit the spot as well. All in all, it was a fantastic experience.

We had a lovely dinner here. The place is super cute with a really authentic vibe. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. And the food was amazing! We had the lobster ravioli and the seafood linguine. If you are hungrier go for the linguini because the serving is definitely larger. The bill came to $55 with no extras or drinks. Pretty good value for some excellent seafood pasta in a great place!

Been here a few times now. No wait The food and service has been consistently good. I had the famous silver dollar pancakes and French Toast. Good portions lots of little details like whipped butter fruit. I really liked the French toast. I also had a cappuccino. Lovely servers and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Got lucky as there was no queue for dinner on the day my friends and I decided to try this restaurant (we saw a very long queue the day before). The decoration was interesting, the staff were friendly and attentive with fast service. We really love the crab cake😍 I also like the lobster risotto.

We happened to be walking down the street and saw the old fashioned sign so we stopped in to grab a menu and ended up going back for dinner. This place has been open since 1938! Great decor and the food was SO GOOD. I got the seafood linguine and hubs got the lobster risotto. For dessert had the chocolate mousse cake and the bread pudding. The portions are generous. We both ended up eating our leftovers that night as a late night snack. Highly recommend.

Great place to eat! I would eat there at any time! The service was outstanding, always checking in keeping us up to date. We got there at 11 AM and we got right in, and were seated. It is right around the corner from the Hyatt hotel and anyone in the hotel can help you locate it. It's about a 4 minute walk. The restaurant gives the feeling of stepping back in time to old school San Francisco. The food was generously portioned. My wife got a veggie omelet and was impressed with the amount of veggies actually included in each bite.

Dropped by for an early lunch around 11am. Had the New York steak and eggs (breakfast menu until 2pm). Delicious. Service was efficient and friendly. Atmosphere was like the old days of San Francisco. I recommend if you are in the Union Square area.

Cozy and old timey place. Lots of good food options for reasonable prices. Went with the fish and chips, fisherman's platter, and I'm really happy with my choice. Got a bunch of calamari and some deep fried shrimps which were both delicious. The fish itself was also really good, not too heavy and not too light, crispy, flavorful and not dry. The chips is probably the weak point, a bit plain and boring. The coleslaw also didn't really add much but to have a bit of green on the plate. Lots of good beers on tap as well, thoroughly enjoyed that.

Came here as part of a big group dinner and we were all served very quickly and on time. Good: - The salmon dish was incredible! So much flavor and it was really flakey and tender. - The bread was tasty with the butter - I liked the cream of asparagus soup, creamy and simple - The creme brulee was amazing! Super tasty, not too sweet and it came with fruit. - The waiters were super friendly Bad: - Fairly expensive for the 3 courses we got - Place is pretty stuffy downstairs where we were seated Overall this was a great place for a large group dinner, a little narrow so it was hard to talk to someone if they were on the other side of the room though.

Of course I had to order their world famous 18 Swedish Pancakes which I don't regret ordering and I did enjoy eating it but definitely overrated - good but not amazing. The pancakes were small thin rounds so even though it was 18 pcs, it was doable to finish. Hubby's Bay Shrimp Omelet was better tasting AND there were a generous amount of bay shrimps. Being not only located in the city but in the Union Square area, it was as expected pricier than usual so this is not one of those good value breakfast/brunch areas. Overall, happy to have tried but no need to repeat.
