The Breakfast Place San Jose Reviews
Had such a great brunch at The Breakfast Club! The place was super lively and packed , definitely a popular spot. The energy was fun and buzzing, which made the whole experience even better. Shoutout to Veronica for being amazing , friendly, attentive, and just overall great service. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and wow… absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily one of the best brunch dishes I’ve had in a while. I’m definitely going back again. Just a heads up to be prepared to wait because it gets busy, but it’s 100% worth it.
Wonderful weekend brunch! Long overdue visit to this restaurant. The food was inventive, presented beautifully and very yummy! You might have to ignore your calorie count and enjoy this cheat! The mimosas were wonderful and Sonia was super warm and attentive with her service.
Yum! Went here for brunch on a Friday and it was packed. Service was great and the food came out quickly. The breakfast sandwich and fries were delicious but huge! My husband and I for sure could have split it.
Be prepared to wait even if you’re here early. They do not take reservations. This place gets busy as soon as it opens especially on weekends. We got here by 8:15 am on a Sunday and had to wait 20 mins. But the food is worth the wait. We tried different items and all of them were delicious. The coffee cake was amazing. They use freshly squeezed orange juice in their drinks. Our server was nice. They had good music playing. Overall good ambience. They should work on serving their mimosas in a better way. Our glasses were all sticky on the outside, probably because of the orange juice/salt/fruits on the rim.
Food here is always delicious. There is typically a wait for a table but it moves reasonably fast. The servers are very nice, but they can be slow at times. My scrambled eggs are eggs came out cold, but they quickly prepared new ones (although they seemed to want to microwave them.... which I declined). Still one of our favorite breakfast spots for consistently good food
Love this brunch place! This was my second time visiting during my Bay Area trip, and I love their food. I definitely overate. I tried the veggie omelette, pancakes, and French toast. Everything was amazing except the tiramisu pancake (it was okayish; the cream on top tasted a bit too milky). But apart from that, everything was so good. Definitely recommend this place for brunch!
I regret looking at the menu for the purposes of this review because now I want to go again and I was planning on crossing off a few new places first. This was the first modern brunch-exclusive place in the South Bay. Before that, there were old school places like Bill's Cafe and Stacks in various locations. Also, Country Holder's Inn. Now, even though this place has churros inside horchatas, it still supplies very hearty food. It is not like those instagrammable places that sprung up later. The omelet, scrambles, and benedicts are amazing. They have at least 10 different types of benedicts and you can mix-n-match. I recommend the crab cake Benedict and the Neptune, which is scrambled eggs with crab and shrimp. Bit unorthodox but it's good to scramble things up, especially if you get two flavors. The New York Benedict is made with bagels if you want to switch up the bread. For the sides, I prefer the country potatoes over the hash browns here. The sweets are fine but just too sugary for my tastes. There's an option to choose 3 types, another combo they offer. It's limited to pancakes and French toast though. As you can see in my photos, it's quite a lot. The graham cracker really adds a nice touch. I don't remember those things tasting so good. My favorite of them all is the raspberry cream cheese stuffed French toast. I would say the last thing I have to talk about are their sandwiches. The club sandwich is so classic, comes with fries and a long pickle. The breakfast sandwich is made of grilled brioche and has hash browns, eggs, ham, bacon, cheese. It's good if you are feeling breakfast. Otherwise anything with grilled bread like the reuben or tuna melt are good options. The service can be so slow. There was only one designated waitress working the tables when we went. Very nice lady, though. The tables may get a little sticky and the wait is long on weekends if you don't go early. Last I went was an weekday afternoon at 2:30, right before they closed at 3 and it was pretty empty. They are pretty chill and don't rush you out.
Always a great experience here. Portions are big and the service is great. The quality of food is awesome and I'm never disappointed. They have a great menu with unique items and flavors. We always come back to try new things. A great brunch place though it does get very busy. Arrive early or after the rush and you'll be seated pretty quickly.
We had a great brunch experience here! We tried the California French Toast, Mexican Scramble (with Soyrizo instead of Chorizo), and the Cookies and Cream Pancake. Everything was excellent, and the food presentation was impressive. I’d highly recommend the Mexican Scramble for its unique flavors, and the California French Toast is a must-try if you have a sweet tooth—the Bavarian cream really takes it to the next level. We had to wait 45 minutes, but it was worth the wait.
I love this place!! I came on a Monday and it was a little busy, but overall the food was amazing and even though I found a few things that shouldn’t have been in my food and water I gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked our server to get us new waters and food because i know these things are accidents. But the waffle was yummy and the food was great! I recommend getting the hash browns instead of potatoes, I wasn’t a big fan.
🍳🥞 Breakfast Club – A Brunch Spot Worth Returning To 📍 Located at W San Carlos & Meridian Parking is okay, but it can be a little tricky, especially on weekends when it gets busier. If street parking is full, there’s a garage behind the restaurant with extra spots, so you should still be able to find a place. 🎶☀️ First Impressions Step inside, and you’re immediately hit with a lively crowd and a perfect brunch vibe. The music was on point—it felt like someone had grabbed our personal playlist and queued it up for the restaurant. My girlfriend and I were absolutely loving it! 🍊 A Must-Try: Fresh-Squeezed OJ If you come here, you HAVE to order the fresh-squeezed orange juice. Since it’s January, oranges must be in season because this OJ was next-level good—a perfect balance of sweet and citrusy goodness 🍊🤤. If they had free refills, my girlfriend and I would’ve shut them down! 🍽️ Our Orders 👩❤️👨 Her Order: Country Fried Steak ✅ Portion: HUGE—and not just all breading! A thick, juicy cut, fried to crispy perfection with just the right amount of crunch. ✅ Gravy: Savory and well-seasoned, tying everything together perfectly. ✅ Sides: Herb potatoes 🥔 (delicious) and wheat toast 🍞 (more on that later). 👨 My Order: Santa Maria Omelette ✅ Steak: Well-seasoned and cooked to medium well, just as I asked 🥩👌. ✅ Flavor Combo: Steak, cheese, salsa, sour cream, and avocado 🥑🧀—each bite packed with flavor, especially when paired with the herb potatoes. 🍞 The Only Miss? The Wheat Toast The only thing that didn’t hit the mark was the wheat toast—it came out late and cold, making it less enjoyable. But honestly, that’s such a minor thing compared to how good everything else was. ⭐ Final Thoughts This spot has quickly become my go-to for brunch, and I get hesitant about trying other places because I always end up comparing them to Breakfast Club 😆. 🔥 Highly recommend for any breakfast/brunch lover! If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit.
The service was excellent it made breakfast so enjoyable. We were a large party of 9. Our dishes came out timely and as per ordered! Some ppl wanted extra of something. Some requested no avocado or something. All our breakfast dishes were excellent except the Korean Fried Rice. It's fine as a Cali fusion of sorts. There is no kimchi fried in the Korean fried rice. It's more of spicy sweet chili chicken nuggets on the side of basic fried rice with an egg. If you don't like kimchi, you will most likely be fine with this dish.

The place is always busy, but always good. They have an extensive eggs Benedict menu, so if that’s your thing, this is the place. In truth, this is your place if breakfast is your thing.
Food was good. We shared a hash dish. And a pancake. The pancake was just, ok. The server was really nice when I asked for almond milk with my coffee. She was charming. Tho she did not check on us much after our food arrived. We wanna go back and try the chicken and waffles. It looked amazing!
Waiting time: 40 mins at Sunday morning The menu has so many choices , I ordered Country fried steak and eggs $22 . It was very good, like the hash browns were crispy on the outside and buttery which was great, but it made me so full that I didn't have to eat dinner. The portion is huge, I guess that's why it's so popular. Service is fast and friendly !
This restaurant has firmly established itself as a popular go-to spot for brunch and breakfast, and it’s not hard to understand why. Whether you’re catching up with friends or starting your day with a hearty meal, the experience here consistently hits the mark. One of the standout features is the portion size. The servings are generous without feeling overwhelming, offering great value for the price. The drink selection is also worth noting—whether you prefer a classic mimosa, a refreshing iced coffee, or something more creative, the bar delivers quality beverages that perfectly complement the food. Speaking of food, the pancakes are an absolute must-try. Fluffy, golden, and served with a variety of toppings, they manage to be indulgent without being too heavy. It’s no surprise they’re a favorite among regulars. However, the menu does have its limitations—particularly for vegan and vegetarian diners. While there are a few meat-free options, the selection is quite minimal and could benefit from more thoughtful variety. This might be a drawback for those with dietary restrictions or preferences. Despite that, the restaurant remains a beloved choice for many. The cozy, lively atmosphere and consistent food quality make it a reliable option for those in search of a satisfying morning meal. If you’re not following a plant-based diet and enjoy classic brunch fare, this place is definitely worth a visit. For pancakes and good vibes, it’s hard to beat.
We stopped in for a quick bite and we were immediately seated. The restaurant was quite busy and has a beautiful ambiance. The servers were professional and attentive. The food was pretty decent and they had a nice drink selection. Just about every dish came with eggs but they were able to sub some things out and accommodate. I would say the plate seem to be drowning in the hollandaise sauce which took away from the meal.

- The beef(?) patty inside Loco Moco is overcooked and BITTER. - Ordered Steak and Frites in medium but it came out as almost well done. This dish also took way longer than the other 3. - Surf n turf Benedict and Shrimp and crab omelette were both good. I think they are better in making seafood than beef?
I kept hearing about this place so I tried it out. I have tontry more food there, but I got a simple breakfast. 2 eggs with homemade corned beef hash and potatos. So they charged me 9.00 for the corned beef hash and when it came it was basically potatos with a sprinkle of meat. I was expecting meat with sprinkle of potatos. Boooooo. It's a cute place but music is so loud it's like eating at a night club. I'll have to give them another chance, try a different meal. My friend's burger looked pretty good.
Located in a convenient area with easy parking, this brunch spot initially seemed promising. The spacious interior and patio provide plenty of seating, eliminating the dreaded weekend wait. The vibe is casual and welcoming, making it a pleasant spot to catch up with friends or enjoy a leisurely meal. However, the experience fell short in several areas. The food arrived lukewarm, which detracted from what could have been a satisfying meal. While portion sizes were generous, the quality didn’t match. The French toast, a staple brunch item, was underwhelming and lacked the flavor and texture expected from such a dish. To add to the disappointment, attention to cleanliness was lacking. My napkin had a coffee stain, suggesting it hadn't been replaced after the previous guest — a detail that's hard to overlook when dining out. Service was adequate but not memorable. The waitress was polite, but the interaction didn’t leave a lasting impression. In summary, while the location, space, and vibe are definite highlights, the lackluster food and overlooked details in cleanliness hold this spot back from being a top-tier brunch destination. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for convenience, but don’t set your expectations too high.
One of the most popular breakfast/brunch place in town! Generous portions and well seasoned dishes. Food quality is consistent and so is the long wait time. They have lots of wait staff but guess the kitchen has a hard time keeping up so our food which supposed to be a set of 3 plates would arrive partially at a time and one of them would arrive at the end of our meal time.
I've been eyeing this spot and finally had the chance to meet up a friend for brunch here recently. There wasn't a wait around 830am over the weekend, but it started getting busy around 930-10ish. …
