I’ve been coming here for years! Every time I visit Leatherby’s I normally get the Cookie Monster but today I got that with the caramel praline and they pair perfectly. If your every close to Sacramento you have to try it out!

This is a Sacramento tradition place. Daddy Dave was a local guy with a vision and the place still hold those values. Large servings and yummy food. Many of the ice cream flavors are made in house as are the toppings. The staff treat customers well and behave as I'd they are glad you've come in. Treat yourself to a fun experience.

Family Night at Leatherby's Family Creamery We had an amazing time at Leatherby's on June 8th, 2025! It was busy, but the spacious parking made it easy to find a spot. Upon entering, we waited just 3-6 minutes for the host to greet us and lead us to a cozy couch—perfect for a relaxed evening. Our server, Boston, was super attentive and definitely multi-tasking, but he spoke a bit quickly, making us feel rushed while choosing our orders. We appreciated his energy, especially on a busy night! We thoroughly enjoyed the Super Clown, Steak Burger Sandwich, and Chili Fries. Everything was delicious with the burger and fries having just the right balance—not too salty! Food Rating: 5/5 The dining space is spacious with plenty of couches, tables, and patio options. Lots of games like arcade but unfortunately need to purchase a to king which is not working. The place calming light blue ambiance was beautiful, even if it got a little noisy at times. Atmosphere Rating: 4.5/5 Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Highly recommended! We can’t wait to go back for more delicious burgers and ice cream treats.

Yoooo! This was the best ice cream (banana split) I have ever had! Went with 3 scoops of cookies and cream and caramel topping. Bomb!! Went and door dashed the next day. My wife loved her Sunday. Definitely gonna go back, when we visit the area again.

What an insanely ridiculous amount of delicousness! The sizes of these fun concoctions are over the top and I ate every last bite. I was super full for the rest of the day. This is a great place with great service.

Very nice place, always full, good for family gatherings and special occasions. And what I say - as for me, the food (like sandwiches and fries,for example) is even tastier and more valuable than ice cream ! Ice cream is good and famous, of course - just too sweet and cold for me))))) the waiters are just gorgeous , very nice and attentive! It's kinda pricely place for me - but that really worth it cause it's tasty and beautiful. And the portions are really huge! So dont be too greedy while ordering)) And you may take it with you as well if it's too much of volume to eat at once.

The restaurant is bright and clean and very family friendly. Adult and children sports teams often gather here after game nights and on the weekends.

Great place to take the family! My kids have a blast when we come here. The food is always great. Tri Tip sandwich is delicious. Great hamburgers and chicken tenders. Big selection of ice cream which I have not yet been disappointed. They also sell jars of caramel sauce to take home. Customer service is always good. Seated as soon you walk in. Fast to get your food and ice cream. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the mood for a good meal and ice cream.

Very inconsistent amounts of ice cream and topings my moms was flooding in 2 small scoops of ice cream. Mine were regular size scoops but 3, literally, drops of strawberry sauce. None had sprinkles that we asked for. Happened now, 3 times. We go because the ambiance is nice and flavor good. They don't have many flavors, but the ones they have are good.

With multiple locations and so many years of experience given their popularity in the general Sacramento area, there really isn't much more insight I can offer about this venerable brand. These folks have been serving ice cream and general American fare for ages, for generations, whether it's birthdays, anniversaries, work parties, etc. And I suppose it's what makes these joints earn such a special place in the heart of its loyal patrons. Many kids, now adults, worked there as their first jobs. Leatherby's has been a strong supporter of local youth sports and its very existence is tightly woven into the fabric of its local communities. So in essence, when you talk about Leatherby's, you're not merely talking about an ice cream parlor or a restaurant, you're really looking at an institution that serves scoops of memories and community goodwill, of times where multi-generations can agree to sit at one table with no qualms, and a place where experience that timeless comfort. Kudos to Leatherby's for all their years of community service.

1st visit. Clean, nostalgic, helpfull and courteous staff. Was expecting the prices to be somewhat higher, was not disappointed. A bit noisy for half a dozen or so families. It appeared to be a cross between a Mel's diner and the old Farrell's ice cream parlor. Food menu looked good. May come back to give it a try.

I mean this was a pretty awful experience. Our server Sam was awesome with the whole experience and resolving our issues. On the other hand, Shift Lead Gabe was terrible, our food came out wrong and when we told him about it he started giving us attitude and visible gossiping about us to another female colleague. Once, our food got fixed it was just as bad because we were served with fresh soggy fries that Gabe delivered to our table with attitude. Overall a very bad experience with the service and would hope that others don’t have these issues with Gabe.

Place is disgusting. Old and dirty everywhere. When I ordered there were bits of ice cream spilled onto the flavors next to them, like they can't even scoop in a sanitary or tidy way. The ice cream textures and flavors didn't impress either me or my daughter. Disappointing. We will find good ice cream elsewhere.
