Opiniones de JJ's Asian Fusion Astoria
I would go here for sushi every-time if I could. Great atmosphere inside, great sushi. Staff have always gone above and beyond in taking care of you. I always recommend JJ's to anyone looking for good sushi.
JJ's Fusion is one of the best sushi restaurants in NYC, certainly in Astoria. I've been a regular since 2003. Going there for almost 20 years and never been disappointed!
Great but small place on 31st Avenue in Astoria just off Steinway at!! Food is amazing and staff are always on point and prices are very reasonable!! Crispy duck salad is amazing 🤩
This place has good sushi!!
I've been eating at JJ's for years and their food is consistently fresh and delicious! The basic rolls are always good. Service is always friendly and delivery is always super fast.
Great food. Sashimi plate is great, the Astoria roll is amazing. Wok seared tuna is one of my favorites here. Consistently good sushi.
I just want to start by saying their salad with ginger dressing is to die for. I went there for their sushi and udon noodles and instead fell in love with the salad side dish. Im not saying the other items I ordered werent good cause they were also amazing, but that salad was really something else. I will be returning back for that salad. BTW I'm not crazy over salads (not vegan or vegetarian), it was really just that good.
It was or first time eating sushi and definitely had the best experience possible. So delicious. Stuff is great. Will be back soon
This my go to spot, I have been here many times. Their food always fresh and they are so friendly. Is great to have a local restaurant that is in home borough and that is fairly priced.
We order food from here regularly. The food never disappoints.
5/5 stars just amazing !!! Food is great amazing prices my favorite sushi spot in Astoria been ordering / going here for years ! Believe me you won’t be disappointed!!
Best Japanese-fusion place in the area. Was great when it was the first proprietor, but the place is still good.
JJ's is by far THE best sushi restaurant in Queens. The sushi is always fresh and the dishes are very innovative. I definitely recommend the dinner bento box. The duck salad is really good too.
Delicious sushi !! Very pleasant atmosphere. Good place to take a date, its low light and has many candles. Service it outstanding !!
Edamame pot stickers... so good its one of the only dishes I won't share. I often get the citrusy Montauk fluke... and their lynch special tuna over salad is the best! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Good food for a really good price. Sushi’s as good as any place I’ve been (I don’t do Omakase but have had sushi at many “regular” sushi restaurants and JJ’s is among the best of those). Incredible lunch special where you get 3 8-piece rolls for $11!
Best Sushi in New York! 100% recomended ask for Astoria Roll and Volcano Roll are Delicious .
I have been going to JJs for about 6 months now. I started going as my old regular spot closed up shop. The fish quality at JJs is great and everything I have tried here i have enjoyed. The ambiance of the restaurant is great and the space is clean. The staff is super friendly and help me think through my order every time. I usually sit at the bar and converse with one of the sushi chefs who gives me the in on the best fish that they have for the week. Definitely a great spot in Astoria and worth the stop.
Best sushi hands down. Love their Astoria roll & scallops California roll! Have yet to find another place that can beat JJ’s. Nice and intimate atmosphere, staff is always really friendly and the food is always great.
My favorite go-to Asian place for 3 years. My favorite dish is their Singapore Noodles. They also have great sushi, teriyaki, gyoza, and several fish dishes. Great dining environment when indoor dining is possible. The staff have always been wonderful.
I've been visiting this place over and over! The staff is pleasant and their sushi is just phenonemal! They have variety sushi rolls and overall the menu is pretty nice! If you want to try something different you have to try their Agedashi tofu! It's just full of flavor! It's delicious! Highly recommend for sushi lovers!
Update 2022 - I have been unable to dine here because they choose to follow the mandates (not laws) but this update is for the person who did show his jab card and still had something negative to say (chef sneezed). Just stay home. Live in a bubble. You’re at least able to eat inside. What more do you want? Build a bubble, stay indoors. People like you are prolonging this nightmare. The gvt doesn’t need enforcement agents when they have people like you. We do not go anywhere else for sushi. My family and I have been driving 25+ minutes here for twelve years to dine. Our kids have grown up with JJs. The scallop California roll is heavenly as are the king crab dumplings. We've had countless other things on the menu which are all delicious and fresh.
The food was awesome. Very small low key spot but the food is top notch. I recommend. I had the rock lobster tail which was amazing . The employees are so nice and accommodating. The food is inexpensive.
Been going to JJs for years. Always good food, very friendly staff. Very consistent quality. The wok seared blackened tuna is a favorite of mine.
JJs is such a gem in Astoria. Great food, great service, and very reasonable prices. Their sushi is always fresh and delicious, and they have some very unique rolls that are fun to try. Also, the edamame dumplings are highly recommended!
Exceptionally good sushi restaurant with a hip ambience. An intriguing selection of specialty rolls, and a wide variety of tasty desserts that actually sound like authentic Japanese dishes. Polite and attentive service. Dark lighting and close quarters, yes, but these merely add to the intimate vibe. Only real drawback is the proximity of some tables to the door, which adversely affects temperature and comfort. But everything else about this place more than makes up for it. Go.
The best sushi spot in Astoria. Their kitchen food is amazing. Their sushi rolls are out of this world, especially the Astoria and the Scallop California.
Excellent very tasty all good 👍
Hands down my favorite Asian restaurant. Very friendly staff and the food is amazing. Highly recommend the king crab dumplings and the house fried rice if you aren't a big fan of sushi
Wow! After all these years JJ’s is still amazing. Incredible sushi, soups, good wine, super service, and positive vibes. Can’t wait to come back.
This place is awesome clean good service and always has great quality perfect for the neighborhood.
They did special roll for me Philadelphia with fresh salmon on top, it's popular in Europe. It was delicious
I have been coming to the sushi restaurant for well over 7 years and each and every time the food is excellent, on point and the service is perfect. I also order food from GrubHub here and even with their deliveries to order is perfect.
both the food and service are excellent! cozy atmosphere and great sushi
Don’t bother reading the negative reviews. This is by far the BEST value and quality sushi you will find in queens. The lunch specials are large portions and delicious and a steal at $11-$14. Do yourself a favor and order some takeout.
This is by far one of my favorite places to eat in Astoria. Everything is always fresh, the service is amazing, and they are knowledgeable about allergies. My boyfriend has a severe celiac/gluten allergy and this is the only sushi place that we trust to not give him a reaction. If you’re looking for good quality sushi, this is it!!
This spot is my new obsession!! Crazy fresh sushi, nice and intimate inside. The staff is lovely, I definitely recommend getting a seat at the little sushi bar in the back to watch all the food go out and you also get to order right from the chef which is really cool and fun. The prices are great and watching each dish go out and getting to ask the chef what everything is was a fun experience. Update: I come here two times a week. No one does Rock Shrimp like JJs!!
I love the food here! Especially the edamame potstickers
Never been to the actual restaurant but I’ve ordered from here several times and it’s always on the money! Most flavorful spicy tuna roll and miso soup I’ve ever had honestly. Even the soy sauce and spicy mayo is more flavorful than the usual. Looking forward to trying more stuff!
Love this place! The food is absolutely amazing!!! Everything is so fresh and delicious! Very nice size of the dishes. Great wine list. We have 4 sets of rolls to share! Delicious!!!! And the price point also very good. Very nice and polite staff!
The food was great and the service was also amazing. Brought my son and he had a wonderful time as well. Finally found a great sushi restaurant in Astoria
JJ's Fusion is in my opinion the best Sushi place in Astoria. The ambiance is really cozy. The service is friendly and the food comes quick. Regarding the food this is top notch! Everything that I've tried is amazing and the quality is proven over many years. Me and my wife visit this restaurant quite often and we've been doing it for 5 years now. Highly recommended!
Neighborhood gem for dining in or ordering in. Our family has been a customer since JJ’s opening. The food is always fresh and delicious, favorites are pot stickers, the rolls, wok seared tuna and miso eggplant. Relaxed dining in, great lunch special and quick delicious delivery. Everyone who works here is so pleasant, even the delivery people. I’d give more stars if I could.
Go for the king crab dumplings! Worth getting two. Hadn’t had their sushi in some time. Loved every piece. Great flavor combos that I feel I can’t get at other spots. Will be back!
The Edamame pot stickers are easily one of the most surprisingly delicious things I’ve ever tasted. Alone, they’re worth a visit. Beyond that, the sushi and noodle dishes were very good and very reasonably priced. Great value with very friendly service.
A long time favorite sushi spot. My go to for delivery, but also a lovely place for eating in. The atmosphere is nice, and I'm a fan of the down tempo, chill house, trip hop soundtrack. Prices are reasonable, and the food is very tasty.
I recently went there to celebrate my best friend's birthday. And I had the greatest time because it felt cozy and it wasn't too loud; the service was amazing too. The food was amazing too and it tasted fresh and they had a variety of foods that sound and looked so delicious. Overall, I had an great experience and if your looking for an amazing treat try the Green Tea Fried Ice!!
Cool restaurant and atmosphere. Nice place we happen to discover while driving around Astoria, Queens. The waiter and staff were friendly and the place suddenly got busy with a diverse and happy crowd. A place we will visit next time we are up for their delicious sushi and fusion treats. ADA accessible with limited Street parking due to being in a busy road. NYC Restaurants are slowly but determined getting back to normal and we support their businesses.
Love, love, love this sushi place. Favorite in the neighborhood. Their three roll lunch special is awesome deal for the price. The Shushi rolls are always fresh and delicious, and the house ginger salad dressing is stellar. The edamame potstickers are really good, as well as the tempura.
I have a special fondness for this place. My wife and I were engaged here and is frequently a place we love to take out of town guests when they visit the city. So glad to be able to sit down and enjoy a meal on our 6 year anniversary. I hope this place is here for a long time. We ventured out today trying new things on the menu. Sushi is always great here, and the duck in tamarind was amazing. The Wasabi on the pot stickers was perfect for me. My usual go to is the teriyaki salmon so we will definitely be visiting again soon.
Have been a customer for over 15 years at JJ’s Fusion due to it being one of the best restaurants I’ve dined in. The food is Amazing.. from appetizers to Sushi rolls… the Astoria Roll being my personal favorite. It has been my family’s and my favorite place to celebrate any and every occasion. The staff is very attentive and welcoming. Great customer service at all times! Thank you JJ’s Fusion for existing… highly recommend this place for dining any day!
This has long been our go-to Asian place for delivery, but we had never been in the actual restaurant before. We were very pleasantly surprised with the space, and the food was even better in person. The highlight though for us without a doubt was them showing and helping our 7 year old eat sushi with chopsticks for the first time. It made his day! They were kind enough to make us more of the child-style chopsticks so he can use them at home. Great food, very fair prices and exceptionally kind staff.
Got some chicken shrimp fried rice and some hot and sour soup. Fried rice was A+ with portion and how much chicken and shrimp they put in it. The hot and sour soup wasn’t my favorite simply because of how they do. No elephant ear mushrooms and not much tofu, flavor was aight. I’d give it a B
The best sushi and sashimi in town hands down the freshest no question certainly fusion also one of the greatest duck dishes ever great soup great appetizers
I love going to eat to different sushi places, they all have their take on sushi rolls. I ate the sushi lunch and it was delicious! The salad had a light ginger dressing and as someone who doesn’t really like ginger I thought it was good. Very filling and a good price I believe. Very nice atmosphere and service. Will definitely come again if I’m nearby!
I live in the neighborhood and come here from time to time. JJ's Fusion is offering friendly service and good quality food, while other places in the area ether closed, or became a disappointment. This is not an advertisement 🙂 and I wouldn't receive any credits for positive review. I just think good review here is well deserved. Thank you 🍱🍸
Definitely one of the better sushi spots I've been to in NYC. The spot looks small on the outside but it's fairly large inside. I was greeted immediately when I came inside so service is spot on for sure. Food service was timely and the food I've had was very good. Grilled teriyaki chicken w/ Rice filled me up along with the spicy Tuna roll I had as an extra. It is pretty costly though. All that along with the Iced Tea I ordered came up to $27 but I don't mind it. It came up to that price because I ordered an entree along with sushi a la carte on the side. They do have lunch specials for $12 so there's something you can get on a budget. I definitely recommend this hole in the wall spot with food that I'd say is worth it's price.
Delicious and great service. I can see why so many people order from this place. We ate in and the service was attentive and food was delicious. Bonus: portion sizes are big! Food: We got a kani salad, two rolls (one speciality and one regular), and yaki udon. Everything came fast and the flavors were perfect. Super filling and wow that kani salad is the largest kani salad I’ve ever experienced. Drinks: Limited drink menu but they have beer and wine. We got a sake and it was a good portion size for two people. Service: Outstanding. Even with delivery drivers coming in and out the staff were friendly and attentive. They kept coming to refill our waters even though we were probably still good for a while. Passed by this place for years but now we’re hooked. Excited to try the other things on their menu!
Great casual asian food spot. They have a very good lunch menu, good balance of variety and value for the price. There are several tables inside for dining but it also is good for a takeout spot as well. I got the tofu and vegetable teriyaki lunch special with miso soup and the california rolls. They have options for vegan and vegetarian dietary restrictions. Staff were fast and friendly. Easy recommendation!
This neighborhood gem is hidden gold disguised as an Asian fusion takeout joint. The menu is deceptively large with incredibly delicious entrees that probably get outshined by their extensive sushi offerings. Some of the items that are an absolutely must-order: the edamame potstickers, which are more like dumplings with perfectly al dente skins, puréed edamame, a wasabi-forward pesto cream sauce—it won best rated dumplings from NY Mag several yrs ago and is still proudly featured on their walls. Their lo mein has become a regular craving—a platter of savory garlic noodles with stir-fried veggies, scrambled egg, and can come with either chicken & shrimp or vegetarianized with fried tofu strips. I also absolutely love their “hot and sour soup,” which is actually Tom Yum with veggies and spinach dumplings; my favorite move is to add rice noodles for $3 extra to make it a hearty entree and the best noodle soup you can get in the area. The sushi is as fresh and filling as anywhere you’d find from many restaurants, but my favorite specialty roll is the Cosmo Roll, which has a tempered shrimp filling and seared tuna on top that’s been cured like pastrami. It’s something I have not seen at any other sushi joint. This place is also a go-to for vegetarian friends because their selection is fantastic and the price point is lower than most restaurants in the area by a long shot. Service is enthusiastically friendly! Water glasses stay filled, and we always feel taken care of. The ambiance is cozy, unpretentious, and generally pretty empty as they mostly get takeout orders all day long. I highly recommend JJs for an easy, casual night out with flavors that’ll blow your mind!
Been going to JJs since they opened several years ago. I think I've tried everything on the menu and everything is quite good. Their dinner Benton box is my favorite. You get slot for your money. I just wish they would change up the menu once in a while.
Love this small place. Been coming here for about 13 years and glad it's still around. Friendly staff. Decent prices and good food. Come here about twice a year and never had an issue. Also great for delivery. Just writing this review is making me want to order from them.
Food from here is well priced and the portions are good. I ordered the veggie dumplings/gyoza but couldn't tell if it was actually the chicken ones so didn't eat them. Any clarification of what is on the veggie ones would be good.
As soon as you finish your food; they bring you the check. Is their loss because they are basically kicking you out not giving you time to order dessert etc. pricing is not much more than average. I recommend it. The sushi tasted fresh, well made and delicious. The Triple crown is my favorite. They should have an all you can eat option.
I frequently get food to go from this place whenever I do errands. The Astoria roll does not disappoint 5/5. Yesterday I ordered the House Fried Riceand I’d say I’d give it a 2-3/5. I don’t recommend it. Overall the staff is always nice when I order my food to go and like I said, I always enjoy eating their Astoria roll so I’d give it a total of 4/5. I would keep coming back here.
Came at off-hours around 2/3pm towards the end of Lunch Special Hours. Service was great. Secured 3 regular rolls w soup or salad @ $16 while family got Astoria roll for about $12. Typically, regular rolls are smaller and have more rice to mask the fish, but fish to rice ratio was appropriate. I mean, it’s nothing you can’t get at any other sushi place - but it’s reliable and theyre not skimping out on you. Got 2 Eel Nigiri and 1 Scallop Sashimi to round out the meal. Again, as you’d expect it - nothing out of the ordinary. You know what you’re getting ordering from here, no real complaints. Ol’ reliable sushi.
I usually love this place. The food is great and the employees are nice in person. But I must dock a star due to the delivery I received tonight. A delivery person yelled at me over the phone for not coming downstairs to collect my order fast enough, when he could have easily left it at the door if he was in a rush. The two calls were less than a minute apart. I am disabled and cannot move quickly, and we have neighbors with sleeping babies. Please tell the delivery person to not scream at people, especially at night.
Came here with a group of 3. Luckily, 2 parties were leaving so we didn't have to wait very long at all. It's a very small restaurant and you will have to wait unless you have reservations. We ordered Edamame pot stickers and salmon tartar for appetizers. I've heard a lot of people rave about their edamame pot stickers and it really fell flat for me. It was just dumpling skin with what appeared to be smashed up edamame beans on the inside. It didn't taste like edamame beans at all. No salt at all. Wasn't even close in flavors. The wasabi cream sauce was pretty good, really spicy if you're not careful. The salmon tartar had HUGE pieces in it along with HUGE pieces of avocado. I didn't like it at all. Because they used big pieces, the flavors didn't blend. I liked the addition of fish eggs to the plate, but how they prepared it really destroyed the dish. In addition, you could not taste the jalapeno sauce. I didn't even know it had jalapeno sauce until I read the menu again. For main course, we ordered Chef's sashimi, Phoenix Roll, Dragon Roll, and Spider Roll. The salmon sushi was fairly decent, meaning fresh, slightly fatty, didn't taste dry. The other sushi had extremely strong fish taste, kind of different from what I've tasted at other places. The rolls were pretty bad too. The fried soft shell crab was soggy, some pieces were crunch, but majority was soggy. Could not taste any mango in the dragon roll or eel for that matter. Probably the eel pieces were too small. However, they give you enough pieces for each roll, I think it comes in 8 pieces. Despite tasting barely okay, for the same pricing, I would just go to some random sushi place in Manhattan and hopefully it'll taste better. I personally wouldn't recommend this place but If you do end up coming here, I would NOT recommend the edamame pot stickers.
Small place. Atmosphere felt a little dingy. There was a slight smell in the restaurant, that I couldn't put my finger on. But the sushi was good. Not the best I've had, but still slightly above average. Prices are reasonable.
Ive been coming to JJS for years now, and my past 2 experiences were not pleasant. Ive always loved their food but ill stick to takeout for now. Both times ive come here i was rushed and stared at while eating by 2 waitresses laughing and passing by staring to see the progress on my plate. Such a shame with such a beautiful environment to have such unprofessional waitresses.
Ordered lunch special- 3 rolls with option for either soup or salad (chose salad) for takeout for total of $16. Come home and notice after eating that the sushi pieces contain more rice and veggies than fish. It’s rolled and decorated nicely not to notice immediately. While the food is decent for the price this isn’t worth it. I’ll go somewhere else next time in the neighborhood that doesn’t skimp on the fish.
Dine in twice in last month showed our vaccinated cards Food was good very polite but I have to wonder if workers follow protocol as we where dining the chef in kitchen area was sneezing possible maybe allergy or cold but my wife and I felt very uneasy and wished we passed on dining there.A lesson to us that having someone prepare food for you is a risk this day and age chefs was not wearing mask maybe we should of asked everyone for there vaccine status
I used to go to this place a lot, the food was very good, yes, it was!! because the last time I went, the fish wasn't very fresh, another thing that isn't good at all is that during the hours it is open, there are people sleeping in the sushi bar I understand that, they work and it is tired but they should try to be more professional or the sushi chef during the service had headphones on that is very unhygienic, as I said before they should try to be professional and ingienic
Hamachi like you have NEVER had before so good you will lick the plate ( ✋🏼 ) and Chilean sea bass??!! It was not Chilean sea bass but more like cod. Now don't get me wrong both are white fish and if you don't know the difference it's easy to be fooled. But if you sell Cod call it that. And charge me accordingly!
Although I love this place tremendously. I drove 30 minutes to enjoy some rolls and found they have a B rating. I’m here to ask that you do whatever you must to get you a grade back! I drove away, that B may as well be an F
Terrible service, go elsewhere. There are much better sushi spots in Astoria than this garbage. Ever since they changed the manager, quality has gone downhill.
Not the same as it used to be. Roll presentation was awful. it looks like a new owner doesn't care about the food being serve. Will go to a more authentic Japanese restaurant.
The food tastes bad and the portion is small. It won't happen a second time. No wonder there's no one eating in the restaurant
I’ve been going to JJ’s forever! But I think either right before or during COVID the owners or management changed. The quality of the food is down the drain, prices have gone up but don’t match the quality. New waitress needs to be trained on customer service. She wouldn’t leave us alone to eat we felt rushed and the place was empty! Before this last time I asked for spicy mayo for the table and she put it on my bill! I will need to find another gem in queens. Perhaps MITO in forest hills?
0 out of 5 stars is better off… first of all, they lied about calling my cell after my food was already 25 minutes late. And then rudely tell me the delivery guy is not going back. Had to cancel the order and get my refund. Never again.
Astoria is great because there are so many food options. The only thing that can set them apart is customer service. I have visited JJ's probably 100 times because it is so close to my house and because of their lunch specials. There is always an Asian man dressed in casual clothes standing in the entry way. I assume he is the manager or owner. He has never once smiled at me or thanked me for my patronage. On the contrary, he gives me the same grimace every time I walk in the door. I will never go back, and I will never recommend this place. Pink Nori is a much better place regarding food quality and customer service.
Came in for dinner on a not so busy Wednesday and was seated immediately. Server was attentive up until he took our order, but then never came back until 30 minutes later when he realized we hadn't even gotten our appetizer (whereas the table next to us was seated 15 minutes after us and well into their appetizers). No apology for the lack of service but shortly thereafter we finally got our first plate of wasabi edamame dumplings. The flavor of the wasabi sauce was good, but the texture of the dumplings felt more like a ravioli, and the filling was lackluster. For entrees, we got yaki udon, nabe yaki udon, and the Astoria roll. The yaki udon and Astoria roll were underwhelming and disappointing given the roll was a Chef's Special. The nabe yaki udon had a flavorful broth, but it would not be enough for me to come back. If I ever do, it would be strictly for take out as the service was abysmal. On the bright side, the bathroom was tastefully decorated?
Last time I come here. It’s completely changed. I’ve been coming here for years and haven’t been in a while but it’s not the same. The waitress is very rude and the sushi guy (“manager”) doesn’t care about customer service. The fancy dragon roll was mostly imitation crab meat and barely any eel on top. They are very stingy with the quality of their ingredients. Such a poor experience dining there tonight. Never again.
I am a long term customer, always ordering takeout. Last week, I visited and asked to use the restroom and the hostess went to ask the manager in Chinese if I can. There was nobody there and the manager refused, then the hostess made up a lie about the restroom being out of service when I blatantly heard them converse about not permitting me to use the restroom. They really did not have to be so rude about it, will no longer support their business!!
