Fun family style dinner on a small urban farm was so delightful. They had 2 musicians that were perfect for the vibe. You can freely walk the garden. The food was delicous. Byob or byow which is nice.

Not just a restaurant - also has a farmer's market and space for activities like yoga. Peaceful and expansive garden. Chandeliers from the live oaks. Find a reason to visit while the weather is nice.

Eden East Austin is the ultimate in farm-to-table dining. The restaurant is on the grounds of Springdale Farm and once the sun goes down and the lights begin to twinkle, it becomes pretty magical. Add delicious, beautifully plated dishes, refreshing cocktails, and live music, and you have an evening you won't soon forget. Eden East serves a five course pre fixe dinner Friday and Saturdays by reservation only.

Had an amazing dinner here a few weekends ago, the atmosphere is perfect as long as it’s not too hot and you can also walk around the farm as well. The dishes served are simple and straightforward but everything is incredibly fresh and put together well. It’s also BYOB, which I enjoy because you end up saving a lot of money on wine at dinner!

Hidden gem in east Austin. A little pricey for the average weeknight but a great spot for a special occasion. Can’t say enough about the atmosphere. They only do one setting so it’s a very laid back dining experience. The food is excellent and well portioned unlike some tasting menus.

I had the opportunity to visit Eden East during a beautiful fall evening and was blown away by the dining experience. The entire farm-to-table feel was really cemented with the family-style picnic tables and dishes and cups that felt like they were taken right out of your grandmother's house. Every dish was served family-style and made with fresh ingredients right out of the neighboring Springdale Farm. If you're looking for a great weekend date-night adventure, this is definitely a solid choice. Between the set price, constantly changing menus, and reservations-required admittance, it's really quite the unique experience.

What an amazing dining experience! The property is gorgeous and the food is delicious. We had a large group and everyone really enjoyed the evening. It was so nice to walk around the property between courses, and the service was excellent! I would definitely recommend Eden East.

When we started planning our wedding, we knew food was a huge priority for us. Having eaten a few meals at Eden East's restaurant, we were more than willing to entrust our wedding meal to their team too. We opted for a family-style pig roast (you know, a conventional wedding choice): The pig was impossibly moist, the salad fresh, carrots perfect, and mac-and-cheese award-winning. Special shout-out to Sara for being laid-back and happy to answer questions and for their billing being very transparent.

C

This place is incredibly special. The space is a rustic yet very well put together outdoor venue that both lets you know that you're right at the food where your food is from but in for a real delight when it comes to the food. Everything here was delicious and left nothing at all to be desired, and the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the local products they were serving.

I don't know what this guy Cole Taylor is talking about! Eden is a local food lover's paradise with top quality locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, all of which the great wait staff told me all about... I mean they are ON the farm itself! Their prices reflect their top quality menu and service, both exceptional. Don't listen to this fake hater, and do yourself a favor by coming to this Austin gem.

A little expensive, but amazing food and great service. The food is fresh, farm to table. And completely worth it. It's outdoor seating, so if it's hot and muggy which it often is in Texas, you might want to make sure that you drink your ice water

I had the opportunity to try this upscale food truck recently and I was amazed by how good everything was. The baked chicken was perfect and the side items were just as good. I really do recommend this place to everyone. It is perfect for a nice dinner with your significant other.

Eden East is a beautiful gem of a restaurant. They have taken over stewardship of Springdale Farm now that it is being developed so they will keep serving delicious local food! I recommend this restaurant for relaxed groups of friends who are happy to have a leisurely paced meal with a casual atmosphere.

I stepped out into Eden East during the Fall season and had the most delicious, savory, fresh, and homey farm to table meal. Decorated with beautiful assorted lights, Eden East gives you that warm fuzzy Christmas feeling. The tables are decorated with various home-styled plates, cups, and silverware that will make you want to go back to grandma's house. Using farm raised produce and meat from their neighbor Springdale Farm, Eden East served us a one of a kind meal. They served us an unforgettable Cranberry Holiday Tea that I still crave while currently writing this review. Eden East is all about the family meal atmosphere: sharing large dishes with others. The pumpkin soup was placed at our table in a gigantic bowl. Awkwardly using a tea cup as a ladle, I silently scooped some soup into my bowl in front of everybody. Everyone else followed and it soon became an interesting conversation starter. The pumpkin soup was bursting with flavor that I scooped up 4 more bowls, no guilt. The salad served was a seasonal slaw with roasted garlic aioli. Each bite was full of fresh crisp flavor that made me not want to buy packaged greens ever again. The handmade baked Mac & Goat Cheese was well balanced; it was baked perfectly and the cheese wasn't overwhelming. The Whole Roasted Chicken entree was of course the main attraction. The meat was deliciously moist with every bite. I don't think I could ever make a delectable chicken like Eden East. Executive chef Sonya Cote really outdid herself with this meal. For dessert, we were handed sticks, marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham crackers. Everyone instantly ran to the fire pits and started roasting their marshmallows. Squatting down next to the fire huddled up with everyone felt cozy. Seeing everyone smile and laugh felt warm. Being at Eden East eating great food felt right.

Located on Springdale Farm in east Austin, Eden East provides an amazing pre-fix menu on Friday and Saturday nights. Use of seasonally fresh produce from the farm and the most local sourcing they can achieve for the proteins ensure that you will receive a taste of Texas that can be here today and gone tomorrow. It's BYOB, so check the menu before heading over there to know what wine, beer, or booze will pair best with your meal.

Absolutely a delight. I'm surprised Eden East is still a hidden gem. The winterized al fresco space was a delight, making for a quieter venue with enjoyable live music we could talk over. Thursday are an a la carte night. We had the quail, a fish special, pumpkin grits, brussel sprouts, whiskey donuts, and arancini dulce. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Overall, this will end up at my top pick for taking friends out or going on dates.

What a treasure this place is! Great venue for events, including weddings, with a food truck serving deliscious food, a quaint farmhouse selling fresh organic produce, a chill spot under the pecan trees to meet friends, and all right in the heart of Austin. Go soon!

I cannot say enough good things about Kaycee, Sara & rest of the team at Eden East. We had our rehearsal dinner here in late April & it was perfect - just truly perfect. I didn't even need to have a wedding - the rehearsal was so wonderful. They decorated flawlessly; the farm backdrop is gorgeous, but the twinkling lights, flowers & rustic touches around the space made it really perfect. The teams coordination on the front-end was sopt on & they left no stone unturned. The kids there loved running around in the grass & visiting the animals. The food was amazing & all family style at picnic tables. I totally spaced on bringing dessert to the event & Kaycee magicked some up from no where. The team at Eden was so friendly & the service was amazing. Really can't say enough good things - highly recommend having your event here. XOX

Came here for a Google event. Food and cocktails were absolutely delicious. All outdoor seating so be mindful of the weather. You can bring your own wine as they only have cocktails. Open Friday and Saturday nights, reservation only, with a different menu every time utilizing local produce.

Dining was a great experience, and the staff were so friendly. Loved the community seating and ability to check out the grounds. We had them cater our wedding, and were still drooling over the food days later. Again, the staff felt like family at our already intimate wedding. The quality of the food was incredible. The staff worked with me when I made a few menu requests, and even offered suggestions to complement my requests. Highly recommend for a date night out or catering.

Eden East was one of the finest dining experiences I've ever had, in Austin or elsewhere. Eden East gets its produce and poultry directly from Springdale Farm, on the grounds of which it is located. You can't really get any fresher food without standing in the middle of the field and eating it as it's picked. On top of that, Springdale Farm uses heritage seeds and grows them organically, so the resulting flavor and nutrition is head and shoulders over your typical store-bought produce. The quality is evident when you're eating the food. The setting for the restaurant is outdoor bench seating, so it's not your typical fancy establishment, but the area ends up feeling kind of magical with the lighting and wind-chimes draped from the surrounding trees. It's reservation only, with a set multi-coarse menu each week, and they serve Thursday through Saturday. The menu is set each week depending on availability, so you know ahead of time what you'll be getting. Thursday is a four course meal for $40/person, while Friday and Saturday are six courses for $65 per person. Dinner prices include drinks from the open bar, and it's also BYOB if you want to bring a particular wine. They are also willing and able to accommodate dietary requests such as vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free, but you need to let them know ahead of time. Really it's a pretty exclusive dining experience, and I highly recommend trying it out, perhaps for a special occasion. You won't be disappointed.

Eden East is a great concept and well executed. The restaurant experience and the food is probably not for everyone, but if you are interested in very casual perfectly Austin in attitude dining, and well prepared fresh food, you will enjoy this. the menu is limited, and we had two choices. their fresh quail and greens were excellent. the Beef did not have rich taste--too fresh actually, and as i am not a collard green fan and the preparation was not unique, i would have passed. overall it was very good. the price is quite steep, but the labor is loving and the food very fresh. they do serve alcohol but only as a gratis cocktail of their choice. byob.

L

Magical and delicious. You get a 6 course meal for $65, BYOB and complimentary cocktails. Sonya Cote and her team are amazing. Great farm to table dishes and the best creme brulee I've ever had. Definitely, has become one of my favorite places to eat. Great service and a great place for a romantic date. Highly recommend, especially if you have an adventurous palate.

M

What an awesome night out. Based on general buzz I decided this would be a great surprise date spot to take my wife. The only catch is that the weekly-changing menu doesn't come out until the Tuesday or so before the weekend (they're only open on Friday and Saturday). It's a little pricey to dive into ($65/person), but it's BYOB + open-bar where they have a specialty cocktail and wine. So if you have a few drinks, plus considering the quality of the food, it's actually not too bad. When you arrive, you're invited to get a drink and walk around the farm before sitting down if you're so inclined. The food itself is outstanding. I won't go into details on what we had because it changes so frequently, but the six courses progressed very nicely and ended up being PLENTY of food, even for someone with a big appetite like me. It would be a fun place to go with a few friends too, and the setting in the farm is so unique. There's really only one seating, so they never rush you to finish your meal so they can seat someone else at your spot. By the way, it's all done at several long picnic tables, so you could easily make friends with the people sitting next to you. Definitely a great special occasion place!

Y'alllll, I love this place. I've been a couple times now, both for the full experience, but also for Thursdays on the Farm and I have yet to be disappointed. First off, this is a great date spot. Come around sunset and do a quick walk around the farm before dinner. The full dinner is especially great for a celebration ($$), whereas the Thursday night might be better for a casual night. Second, the food and service is great. All the service staff were super friendly and every dish we tried was delicious, farm to table goodness. No, it's definitely not an all-weather location, but they were nice enough to give us hte option to bail without a charge when a cold evening swept in in early spring. We chose to stay and they provided us with some nice blankets that definitely helped! Oh, and be sure to bring a bottle of wine or cooler as this place is BYOB, and enjoy!

Went here for mothers day brunch, it was such a delight and glad we came. The atmosphere and what this restaurant stands for is every bit of what makes Austin a special place. They are very creative with the food (the grits tasted like a curry almost, the biscuit included a sauce that blew my mind), and I applaud that. We need more of that in this town. It was expensive, but it also included bottomless mimosas/bloody marys, as well as multiple courses of outstanding food, not to mention really big portions. We couldn't finish! The service was top notch, they really make you feel at home and welcomed. Very attentive. The workers seemed happy to be there, it was clear they wanted their customers to have a great experience. They pay attention to every detail, all the way down to the music. They had a live duo that fit the vibe perfectly without being a loud or distracting. In a way, it almost felt like a really quaint outdoor wedding reception. Loved it. Thanks for making our first mothers day one to remember Eden East! Will be back for sure.

If you ever have the opportunity to try out this place, I say take it! Everything about Eden East is calming and rustic. The outdoor seating is absolutely perfect and fitting for a fall dinner. The fact that they use fresh produce really makes a difference. You can honestly taste the freshness. The scenery is very nice, too. There were fires set up and lights in all of the trees. It truly created a dinner experience I will never forget. They change their menu frequently, so there's always an opportunity to try something new and delicious. Eden East is a dining experience that every Austinite and visitor should try at least once.

One of my favorite places to eat in Austin for a special occasion. The menu is pricey, so it's not a regular weekend spot, but it is all locally sourced and very high quality so absolutely worth it. The plates are beautiful and taste as good as they look. I would say they are slightly on the under seasoned side, but not glaringly so. It's BYOB and complimentary cocktails, which helps offset the meal cost. You can walk around the farm while you're waiting for a plate. The service is very well timed throughout each course and the staff are very friendly.

P

Let's just say Sonya Cote did a hell of a job with this one. I wanted to surprise my gf with a special dinner; I had been reading a lot about Eden East and am really into farm to table eateries. Doesn't get more farm to table than here folks. The menu changes daily/seasonally so everything is on the menu is the super fresh. Service is unbelievable too. I emailed the info link on the website the day before to get a preview of the menu so I could pick out a wine to bring. I ended up getting an email back from the chef with suggested pairings. Can't really ask for more than that! The pairings were excellent and the food was unbelievable. At the end of the dinner, Sonya came around and spoke with the patrons. She is such a awesome person with a great vision. Austin needs more Eden!

This place is amazing! My boyfriend works for a catering company and he commented that it would make a great wedding venue, as it turns out, they are a wedding venue! haha That being said, i went to this place for a Farm to Table dinner. The venue is AMAZING!! The food was so delicious and the drinks were really good. This place made me forget that i was very close to Austin. I felt like i was out in the middle of nowhere. I would love to go back. it felt magical.

We went to East Eden for it 1 year wedding anniversary and it was perfect mixture of rustic and romantic! Having the farm right there next to the seating area transports you out of the city limits and takes you country side. Since we went during the evening we had the 4 course dinner and everything was delicious! I will say though, my husband was still wanting more to eat after the dinner since the portion sizes aren't exactly generous but nothing a pit stop at the food truck for slice of pizza didn't fix. I would love to come again and see what the chef has put together for the winter.

D
Donna Bhavsar

Love the atmosphere and ambiance especially at night with the lights and it’s such a great concept for dining experience but the food is subpar, and small portions for the price. It seems they are limited in their options by not having a real kitchen as well - would love to have a hot dinner option.

Eden East is a farm, that also happened to serve food. Dinner is less white tablecloths and christals, but mixed match utensils in a barn - picnic table, benches, and hay underfoot. (There's also a cat that roams around the barn.) It's a prix-fixe menu, but you get to choose the main entree (out of 3 choices). All the dishes features vegetables and spices/herbs grown right on the farm. Beef and lemongrass soup (just the broth) had a nice flavor, though the carrots it came with were more crunchy than I had expected. Salad was a huge plate of green things.... Some where more over powering than others, and the big leaves could be cut into smaller bites. Entrees were both delicious. Red snapper was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Again, one herb in particular overpowered the fish. Dessert was a very rich vegan chocolate torte, and comes with candied grapefruits that helped cut the richness of the cake. The tahini puffs was rich in flavor with a fun crunchy texture. Definitely more of a dining "experience" than anything else. Bring Benadryl if you think you'll be sniffling at the end (due to the hay or the cat, or both).

Beautiful location. Meal other than dinner is from onsite for truck. Menu is tasty, but limited to 5 items or so. BYOB. Took mom here for birthday brunch and look forward to a dinner here.

The food is really good. We had a wonderful company lunch here. I dont know the prices on everything we had, but I think even if it was $50 a person it would be worth it. I thought everything was really flavorful and cooked perfectly. The chicken was not over done and the potatoes were crisp and delicious. The desert was a little...unique. it was good but not very sweet. I still liked it but I think a lot of people might want a sweeter desert.

Dinner was hit and miss. BYOB is a fun concept, it gave us the motivation to go wine tasting earlier in the day. Tip: they have a free cocktail but it’s hidden behind the “room” where you eat dinner. Our server didn’t tell us about it and we didn’t discover where it was until we were leaving. The roasted vegetables plate was very tasty. The cheese plate had one good cheese and two meh cheeses. Biggest disappointment in our menu was the dessert; it was very heavy and wasn’t sweet at all.

C
Chris Sovine

Meh. Service is good and friendly but slow - truly the best thing about the place other than the nice ambience. Food is not bad but nothing exciting - inconsistent plating and everything was either slightly over or under seasoned. Hostess is really stuffy - seems Californian and pretty much ended the whole night on a sour note. Spend your money on something better. For the same price you can get Barley Swine, Wink, etc. Far better experiences

I have to echo many of the reviews I read but chose to disregard. I really wanted Eden East to be as amazing as the concept is. The setting lives up to it. The service was top notch. But the food was unimpressive and that’s what matters most. We paid $70 per person for the prix fixe menu and the best thing we had was the green salad. There were other serviceable items but nothing that I would point to as above average. I was very disappointed. A for effort, C for execution, and F for value. I’m really sorry to say this. UPDATE: I appreciate the restaurant following up to diagnose the issue. Replying to Eden East’s question, the menu we had was the Cajun themed prix fixe and included the following: - Gumbo: the two ladies with us didn’t eat the dish, it was subpar - Green salad: again, best dish of the evening. Fresh and satisfying - Mains: I had the stuffed quail. Beautiful presentation but unfortunately not great taste. The ladies had shrimp and grits, one of my wife’s favorite dishes. She ate about half of it and didn’t want to finish as she found it lacking - Dessert: Mardo Gras pancakes. Not good. Nobody ate more than a bite Luckily we ordered some additional appetizers and sides a la carte. In retrospect it’s silly to have to do that when paying $70 for a prix fixe menu. These were generally better than our primary meal. Butternut squash queso was good. Pickled vegetables were good. There were a couple more that I can’t recall. I think there was a fish rillette that was pretty good.

I was really looking forward to our dinner at Eden East, but ended up disappointed. The price of the food didn't even come close to matching the quality of the food. I'll start with the good: The atmosphere is nice. There's a unique feel to the outdoor, small farm style that you can't get at many other restaurants. On a beautiful day, Eden East could be a nice spot for a date or a fancy family get-together. And now the bad: First and foremost, the food quality was far from great. The tenderloin I ordered was so tough that I had to cut it into tiny pieces so I didn't have to spend the whole night chewing. Everything was just a little overly seasoned and, while the flavor choices were certainly unique, everything tasted just a bit off. In particular was the overuse of mint. I love fresh mint, but there's something a little off-putting about having mint in my salad, on my steak, AND in my desert. It made the taste run together. By far the most disappointing part was the freshness of the food. At a farm-to-table restaurant asking for such high prices, I expect every course of the meal to be as fresh as the last. The salad was wonderful, but it only went downhill from there. For desert I had the shortcake, and the tough, chewy texture gave the impression that it had been made the day before and left out. Overall, Eden East is just not worth a visit unless they address the issues with their food quality or lower their prices to match the quality that they're currently capable of. I am aware that this restaurant works out of a limited kitchen with limited, seasonal ingredients, but I've been to similar farm-to-table restaurants elsewhere and have had much better experiences.

Awesome atmosphere. Neat farm to peruse. Not worth eating at. Everything was either too bold or very, very bland. My “New York strip” unfortunately tasted like an over cooked hamburger. The oysters seemed a little iffy and they put mustard seed on everything and it wasn’t really flavorful. The worst part was that it took 3 hours to get through the meal. Usually I love that, but it just left us hungry. Portion sizes were too small for the price. Honestly, go splurge at Whole Foods and make what you really want at home!

...is customer service or even just common courtesy nonexistent these days? We showed up today at noon having heard a lot about how good the food was, and walked up to the window and the young woman behind it couldn't be bothered to ask if we had any questions or if we wanted anything. So, we had to lean in and ask if we could get help and then when she came over, she just stood there and looked at us, not bothering him to ask us if we wanted anything or had any questions. Additionally, We were never asked if we wanted anything to drink and so Had to ask if it was possible to get something to drink. I felt like our placing an order was nothing but a bother to her and that she was doing us a favor by even taking our order!

Great atmosphere as usual but very dissapointed in the food and efficiency. The food was bland, sloppy, slow and different then the anticipated menu...Sub crab for shrimp and no price change? Pretty silly. Made my Easter/Birthday off to a sad start.

EDEN EAST did a horrific job catering my wedding. Bad service, food was much poorer quality than what was agreed upon, and they added an additional $2k to the bill two days before the wedding for undisclosed fees and extra personnel that wasn't discussed with us. I should have taken them to small claims court. Just a complete nightmare, and the one black mark on an otherwise wonderful day. UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: Since you seem to have selective memory, allow me to walk you through my horrible experience with your company: I signed a catering contract with Cote Catering, which was suddenly dissolved around 7 weeks before my wedding. Scrambling to find another caterer who could do the job on such short notice, I found one and promptly asked for my ~$3,000 deposit back. Yall REFUSED TO GIVE ME MY DEPOSIT, instead shifting everything over to EDEN EAST, which was owned by one of the co-owners of the soon-to-be-nonexistent Cote Catering. At this point I should have taken you to court to get my deposit back for breach of contract, but you knew we were out of town and it would be a hassle, so you locked us in by refusing to refund us. My husband and I decided to try to make the best of it, even though we were unsure of your ability to carry out the logistics since this was something that Eden East does not normally do (concerns that were founded, it turned out). So we met at Eden East to discuss the transition and finalize the menu about 2 weeks before the wedding, once I was back in town. At this point, you all downgraded the main dish on the menu, claiming you didn't have enough supply but WITHOUT cutting the price, and began adding additional fees (around $1500) for items that were SUPPOSED to be included in the original price (for linens, flatware, dishes, chefs, extra personnel, etc.). Trying again to make the best of it, I negotiated with you and we agreed upon a cost, which was considerably higher than what I had initially been sold on, but which I had little control over, as you well knew. The WORST surprise came 2 days before the wedding, when my wedding planner noticed that yall had added AN ADDITIONAL $2000 beyond the previously mentioned fees to the "living contract" for random undisclosed expenses like vans, extra server hours, and more busing staff. That was a cute little trick, wasn't it? Again, having little recourse and just about losing my mind, we just chugged along and hoped it wouldn't be a disaster, since there was no way we could pull out this close to the wedding. Day of the wedding, my planner informed me that yall arrived around an hour late (we were charged hundreds of dollars per hour for all of your personnel, so that was one fat lie in the "contract"). Several of the servers were not professional. The food was of a lower quality than what we had in the tasting. The greens were completely different from the ones I had tasted---greasy, gross, and gave me a stomach ache, and probably weren't vegetarian as discussed. The whole thing was a huge disappointment that cost nearly twice as much as it should have. So you tell me, having no recourse but to post one comment (where is this other comment you speak of??) about my experience with EDEN EAST, how I should hold you accountable for the terrible service you provided?

This place is a food truck with mediocre quality, that charges five star restaurant prices. Meals are way over priced and specifically, they charge $3.25 for a 12 oz cup of HEB orange juice. Smdh...just buy your veggies at the market next door and go home, don't stop here
