We came here to sample authentic Castile y Leon food and were certainly happy that we did. The food is superb. We ordered the tasty croquettes for appetisers and shared a pork plate for the main. Everything was excellent. Service was good but not quite up to the standards of the food. It is very popular with locals.

We were lucky to get a table at this amazing restaurant during our overnight stopover in Salamanca. The food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. We have been in Spain for about three weeks and have been loving the variety of food, particularly the tapas and pintxos, but it had started to feel a little repetative. Origen provide a modern twist on a lot of the dishes we had tried elsewhere and also provided some very inventive and extremely tasty new dishes. All the staff were friendly, responsive and happily explained all the dishes to us in English, as we can barely speak a word of Spanish. We highly recommend Origen!!

Delicious food served in a nice ambience with friendly and helpful waiters. The marinated pork was so delicious, we ordered it twice and the porc tartare was tasty spicy and well seasoned. Can recommend without hesitation!

Nice local, located just a few steps from 'Mayor' square of Salamanca, well ornate, with attentive staff. His dishes are based in the local cuisine, but a pinch of imagination. We tasted a generous and savory steak tartare, and delicious stew of beans with hake's barbels and a kind of fried vegetables with slices of Iberian ham (maybe a bit over seasoned with cumin); good wine list, we have a local one, from the Rufete grape, very strange find it out of this region. Really sweet the lemon pie we had, and the bill was adequate.

31/12 We chanced upon this place also due to great reviews and food looks spectacular. Was surprised that it's open for Christmas lunch as we couldn't get rhe reservation for dinner and google said closed. Sooo, we happily walked in. Unfortunately, as we entered, we were greeted by the most unfriendly bar attendant. My husband asked for a table and she followed by "Did u make a reservation?" He said no and said "oh well then its full." The bar looked empty and had plenty of spaces so we decided to stay for some tapas and drinks but ofc, asked if its okay before assuming so. She said "its full in the bar too" Mind you, every bar we have been will pleasantly ask people to slightly move if there's even the tiniest space available. This one, had plenty. Could fit another 3-4 people. Just felt like she didn't want us to be there. I almost never write a bad review as i am also in the food industry. Its the holiday season and understandablely hecitc. But this seemed rather personal and we felt really unwelcomed.
