Amazing sweet and savory waffles! I’m usually way more a sweets person than savory but my husband and I tried one of each and the savory - Elote - was actually my favorite! Adorable atmosphere inside with some thrifted clothes and local goods for sale inside. Outdoor seating with a view available as well 😍

Super delicious, fresh, ample servings, and very reasonably priced! Staff are friendly, service is quick. LOVE this place! Canyon Carnitas Tacos (delicious!) And the blue corn waffle with egg on top (my friend's order...don't know what it's called...but she said it was delicious too!) Every dish I've tried at Hidden kitchen in Cayucos has been superb and unique.

Me and the hubby were in a brunch mood, and decided to try this place out while we were out exploring. WOW, What an unexpected find! Cute little shop and patio, very tidy and cozy. We had their strawberry cheesecake waffle special and the Monterey mushroom waffle. Never had blue corn anything but I was won over! We will definitely be coming back here again.

I am a very picky foodie and I LOVE eating variety of high quality, healthy, tasty food. So I am not a Mac and cheese or steak and potato type. Having said that…Holy Moly! This place has such a different twist to what they do. First, my wife can’t have any gluten, so that eliminates most flower products. She is always sad that she can’t just have a delicious waffle, well everything they do here is all ORGANIC and Gluten Free!! We ordered the fruit topping on the blue corn waffle, 10 out of 10! The fruit was fresh and the home made whip cream was to die for! Knowing that it’s not made from process garbage chemicals made it that much better. We also had two different carne Asada tacos, first the blue corn tortillas was very tasty and natural tasting. I have eaten many different types of tacos in my life, I would rate these as being top 2 out of 100 different places. It’s a different twist, but I love the flavor and the creative twist on it. Some times those creative attempts can go bad, not here. Sadly we are from Oswego IL. We just stumbled onto this cute little town and to this magical place! It’s bit more expensive than normal, but worth every penny in my book. You will also appreciate the cute beachy, coffee house feel, they also have a nice outdoor dining area. Give it a try, you will be incredibly glad you did, YUM! 10 out of 10!

We came here after searching for some delicious, but unique breakfast food on the central coast. To our surprise, we found this “hole in the wall” with blue waffles as their claim to fame. They were delicious and we also ended up purchasing a couple bags of their corn flour.

Very friendly stuff, all gluten free food, decoration of the food was very neat, yummy food, great food & seating outside. Definitely a place to go to if you are around this area. Drip Coffee was ok, we had one Waffle, one breakfast burrito and a berry smoothie

Truly one of the best brunch spots In the area ! The most Delicious ,savory waffles made out of blue corn flour ! Their patio is across the street from the beach which is super convenient if you want to walk off your food afterwards :)

A true hidden gem so close to the beach, never had blue corn waffles before but these were a hit!! I recommend the cowboy ones!! Also the smoothies are epic in size and flavor!

The Hidden Kitchen in Cayucos is the perfect spot for breakfast by the beach. Located right on Cayucos State Beach, this place serves some of the best waffles in Cayucos, along with amazing savory and sweet tacos. The vibe is lively and casual, full of people comparing orders and enjoying the California coast atmosphere. The food, service, and overall experience are excellent. It’s a little pricey, but absolutely worth it for the quality and beachside experience.

100% gluten free? I'd be in even if the food was mediocre. But there's nothing mediocre about Hidden Kitchen. My favorite is the special, strawberry cheesecake waffle. It is absolutely decadent. But for my savory loving husband, the tacos are perfect. There's plenty of outdoor dining, and a cozy indoor for those cold, foggy mornings.

Super special place we’ve been here 3 times and it doesn’t disappoint, don’t let the line fool you it moves really fast, be ready with your choices when it’s your turn and things keep moving, pets are welcome on the huge patio and I’ve never seen an unhappy customer. 4th time and it doesn’t get old such good service and yummy food I wanted to try something different but when I ordered my tummy ordered the Weirdo.

I have been here a few times with some friends and family! The food menu is so cool and unique, and the service is great! I always get a savory and sweet crepe and split them since the waffles are pretty big. The location is also great, as it is right next to the beach and pier! It is definitely on the pricier side, but totally worth it!

Hidden kitchen is the most amazing place. You'll come to on the Central Coast. They have an absolute jam in the blue corn Waffle. They make special waffles every couple months. Today it was peaches and cream and Halloween. They'll give you marshmallow chocolate, drizzle, Waffle. And then they have that candy bacon. That is absolutely amazing. Their mannex, machaca, tacos, incredible. If you get a couple of those, you're going to be in hog heaven. If you come to Cayucos, you must Go to hidden kitchen if you're anywhere near. You must come to hidden kitchen and their smoothies are huge and chock full of delicious fruits do not miss this place.

We absolutely love coming from the Central Valley to our favorite beach city, aka Cayucos. When visiting here, you have to come to the hidden kitchen and have something from their amazing menu which features blue corn and their gourmet spin on breakfast tacos! I highly recommend this establishment.

Such a unique spot! I got a smoothie but I will have to come back for their food. No wifi though, so not the best place to study or do work. Update!! The waffles and tacos were really good! The blue corn they use is tasty and unique!!

Great food, great staff, and a great location—what more could you ask for? My wife and I have visited this place twice. On our first visit, we savored their famous blue corn waffle dishes in the morning. On our second visit, we indulged in their creative blue corn tacos in the afternoon. Both times, the food was simply delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the patio was a lovely spot to enjoy a meal on a cool, bright, and sunny day—which we had both days we visited. Keep up the great work!

A hidden gem, certainly worth a stop. We enjoyed our beach hike and decided to have a snack and a cup of coffee at the Hidden Kitchen before continuing our drive. The patio is very nice and offers great views. Staff members were helpful and friendly. A visit can be highly recommended.

The Hidden Kitchen in Cayucos,Ca is the coolest eatery that exudes a laid-back beach atmosphere. As a family with celiac disease, it’s one of our top spots for breakfast and lunch. We’ve been able to savor their dishes without any health concerns, which is a huge relief. It’s one of just two places in San Luis Obispo County that offers a completely gluten-free menu—truly a paradise for those with gluten sensitivities! ❤️ The staff here is welcoming, and the service is impressively quick. I can’t recommend the Mannix Machaca tacos enough; they’re made with a delicious homemade blue corn tortillas. And don’t miss out on the San Luis sunrise and the Fiscalini Fruit waffles—they're absolutely delicious!

Blue waffle! So unique and delicious. I think taco just ok but blue waffle is definitely a try! Strawberry smoothie is good too. Coffee is ok. Waistline looks long, but it’s not that bad. It’s a line to order and then you pick your seats to sit down yourself. Self service kind.

Place is way too cute. Their strawberry smoothie was great and we really enjoyed the blue corn tacos and blue corn waffle! It’s our first time trying blue corn so that was a new experience. Sitting outside was chill and they allow dogs which is another plus. Great vibes and lots of parking outside!

Hidden Kitchen in Cayucos is my favorite breakfast place in all the world…seriously! They serve blue corn breakfast tacos and waffles for breakfast and blue corn tacos for lunch. Everything is amazing!! You get to sit on the patio and see the Cayucos beach. They are busy, so get there early or plan to wait a little (not too long). The breakfast tacos are my favs! If you’re ever in the area, definitely stop by the Hidden Kitchen! Enjoy!!

This restaurant is highly rated not from popularity but from being a place that serves excellent food. Everything I’ve had here I’d eat again. Love the smoothies, waffles, bowls, coffee. Everything is delicious. Service of friendly and the patio is comfy and you can hear the ocean waves.

We ordered to go. We had Elote tacos Fiscalini waffle Oceano orange smoothie The tacos were amazing. Everyone should get them. Fresh, flavorful, so good. The waffle was good. The blue corn is nice and earthy so not your typical waffle. Not sweet. The cream was really good. The smoothie seems to be smaller size when you order to go vs staying in That's a shame. The flavor however is really good, not too sweet. Use a spoon, ger is thick! The line can be long on a weekend (it was for us) but it seems to move quickly. Order outside then move inside or to take to go to the beach like we did. =]

Amazing restaurant! There was a long line but it was worth every second of the wait. The Bishop Buzz smoothie was so filling! The savory San Luis Sunrise waffle was deeply satisfying and delicious. My wife got the fried banana one with almond butter. They were so great! You could even split one because they are so filling.

It is a week later and I’m still thinking about their churro blue corn waffle with a fried banana. The laid back vibe, quick service and delicious food make it worth a visit, and likely you’ll become a frequent fan. They use their ingredients generously, the tacos include a ton of avocado, the smoothies are practically spilling over the cup and the waffle is stacked with their homemade toppings.

What a great place! The breakfast was amazing. Our group had a couple of the protein shakes which were so flavorful and a good size. We also enjoyed a couple of the taco varieties and a loaded waffle. The views from the patio are perfect with Morro Rock to the south. Dog friendly as well

Food was terrific, and atmosphere is excellent! We had some tacos, a sunrise waffle, a churro waffle, and the turkey melt! 4 of us, and honestly, we could have shared! We also had 2 smoothies, and they were huge, and delicious!

Stopped here to grab breakfast and two weeks later I am still thinking about it! If only it wasn't 4 hours awayI would go again. I got the Morro Melt which was a savory waffle. This place does not disappoint and I highly recommend trying to stop for a meal if you have a chance. Sit out on the patio and you can listen to the waves as you eat. Super dog friendly location. My boyfriend got the plaskett pork breakfast tacos and he enjoyed those also.

One of my favorite breakfast spots across the board. Their blue corn waffles are phenomenal. Whenever I'm making a trip up to big sur, hidden kitchen is always a necessary stop.

Wholesome blue corn waffles and tacos right on the beach. Drip coffee is self-serve. Chill vibes and great food -- what more could you ask for. Definitely worth a stop if you're driving by!

Came here ages ago and was just reminded of how freaking fantastic this place was -- so I had to leave a review! If you're gluten free, you've found heaven. Even if you're not, you're in for a treat. My god. These waffles were utter bliss. I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone in a heartbeat. SUCH BLISS!!!

Love the blue corn waffles. Usually order the Monte Cristo or the Weirdo. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The patio (outdoor) is dog friendly. A must visit spot in Cayucos or Cambria.

If you are near Cayucos you have to stop. Blue corn waffles are amazing and so are the tacos. The staff is amazingly friendly. Order at the window, go find a seat and get your own water and coffee. All that makes things fast, but savor the food!

Delicious and unique food! Just very expensive ($50 for two plates and a smoothie. A smoothie is $10, savory waffles are $15-21, a sweet waffle is $12-17!) Also has no public wifi which is a bummer because we wanted to work from there. But they do have a selection of board games to choose from.

So cute and the food was delicious and unlike anything I’d ever had before. The elote waffle and smoothie was amazing, but $18 + 10 is more than I would normally pay for a lunch so I deducted a star for being expensive. I liked the waffle better than the taco because I loved the blue corn dough and wanted more of it with the taco. It also has thrifted clothes and trendy goodies you can buy.

We checked out this highly rated and popular gluten free brunch restaurant featuring blue corn waffles and tacos. The food was sumptuous. The blue colored waffle was not the prettiest , but if you imagine it like a blueberry it should be ok. The texture and taste were both pretty good. The place is super busy, lines before it opens at 9am, though they move fairly steadily. We were there at 9:45 on a Friday, we didn’t have much problem finding a spot in the outdoor area with our puppy. The restaurant and the town is very dog-friendly. Tip: The restaurant is next to the beach so it’s very nice to take a walk afterwards.

Really good food! Service has been hit or miss the last few trips with more miss. My wife was sitting down when I was walking to the table with our number and the employee insisted she got in line and couldn't save a table even after my wife told her I was 30ft behind her. There's been other incidents but mostly that one.

Hype. We all know it. Long line for mediocre food and smoothies. Carnitas tacos have meat covering about 10% of the tortilla’s surface area. Should be called a cabbage taco since it’s just a mountain of lettuce. This place is 7/10 at best but the insanely long line makes it 6/10.

I was out with my friend. We both have never been to the Hidden Kitchen so we both decided to go there. We looked at the menu. The waffles caught our eye. My friend said, “can I get a normal Cambria waffle please?”The girl up front said, “you mean the something waffle- the one with the beef and the tomatoes waffle?” My friend said “”no just the plain.”She says ok. I order a fruit something waffle with no cocoa powder. She says ok and gives us our number. We take a seat. We look around. Everybody looked happy but no one had a waffle. Me and my friend talk about how exited we were. It was very pretty looking around. Then our food comes! Everybody else looked very happy and pleased with their food. We get ours, and we turn blue. There was wet cream on the top of mine but my friend said “can I have some of your butter?” I though it was butter to but when she tried it she said “this is terrible butter.” I realized it was very creamy whipped cream. I tried it and it wasn’t good. It was a little too sweet in my opinion. It was to plain too. So then I try the strawberry’s. The strawberry’s were definitely not local. Then I tried the bananas! They were really good for some reason! But not the strawberries. Now… I take a bite of the waffle. I expected it to be crunchy like a normal waffle is. It was not. It was soggy and soft. And the inside was blue! What? The outside was dark dark brown…. I did not like it at all! And then I said “the maple syrup will make it better!”I try it and it tasted terrible to. The maple syrup, made the waffle kinda taste better but with the syrup alone, it didn’t taste good at all. Then I went to the bathroom. Very pretty bathroom and clean! Love it! But food I did not like.The food was not good! Blue waffle, turned me blue.🔵😔
