CLEAN bathrooms, My only issue was the PARKING .. if u have to pay for parking I feel u should b able to get SOME of your parking fee VALIDATED I had never been there before. Not too familiar with the area so the parking was a bit confusing. Other than that, it LOOKED like a long wait as there were many people outside waiting to eat, once we put our name on the list we were seated in less than 15 min. It was Friday morning around 830am when we went, but it was also THE FIRST WEEKEND for Chico state students so I'm assuming that's why there was a wait. Food was scrumptious and prices were decent

4.5 Stars do not give this place justice. Even though it was packed and there was a line of people waiting, we were seated in 15 minutes. The server was great, the food came out quick, and was super delicious. We found our new breakfast spot for sure.

First time at this restaurant. The reviews were very good and my daughter and I were not disappointed! We were seated within a few minutes of arrival during a busy lunch hour, the staff were super nice and the restaurant is nice and cozy. Our server Kaitlyn was very personable and helpful with our menu selection. The food was amazingly good and well priced. My daughter had biscuits and gravy which was delicious! We're from the South so we know good gravy when we taste it. My pancake was light and fluffy, and crispy at the edges, so good! The eggs were fluffy, breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and soft, and everything was cooked to perfection. We had fresh peach mimosas which were also good but very strong! We had a pleasant experience and will definitely come back. Thank you all

Was in Chico, CA. today for doctors appointments and as always wanted a new restaurant. Found Moms close by The first impression walking in was one of uniqueness I was not expecting. You can see in some of the pictures. They are really big with the chico area residents. Which till see in pictures on the walls. The servers are super nice. You can sit outside or inside. Menus are available at the table...on the table. The food was delicious...and for the price, you get a lot of food. Neither one of us could finish our meals. I highly recommend coming here if you're in the chico area.

Food came out quick, with plenty of seating and great service. Food was reasonably priced, and the portions are spot on. Most of us couldn't finish our meals. Atmosphere was as you would expect for a busy restaurant. But the seating was spaced well. I didn't feel on top of other people.

Love going here for breakfast whenever we are driving to Disneyland. Breakfast options are amazing and reasonably priced speedy service, always welcoming staff and have never had to wait very long for seating. The potatoes aren't our favorite but still tasty and well season. (Sometimes, just mushy isn't oir thing)

Went for breakfast with my family, cute place and much bigger than it looks from the outside. Service was great, food was delicious! I had the ham I am omelet with breakfast potatoes, plus it came with fresh fruit, a homemade biscuit, and apple butter. My daughter got the California breakfast sandwich and she loved it, especially the bacon jam!! My husband got the southwestern omelet and really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back next time we're in Chico.

We could not have asked for a better breakfast experience (well, maybe coffee that is just a bit richer). Service was fast and friendly (love those college kids!). Orange juice was freshly squeezed. My garden omelette and my wife’s basic breakfast of poached eggs, home fries and link sausage were perfect. If we’re ever back in Chico we’ll be sure to come back.

This place is absolutely amazing, the first impressions are usually the best. Well they did not disappoint. The staff is all amazing, my server was Melissa, visited on 6/5 and 6/6/21, not only did she remember me, the person seating me did as well. That blew my mind, but the food l had some of the best pancakes, eggs with spinach, potatoes the big momma used to make in the cast iron skillet with the onions. And. A plus was that the add a slice of orange and watermelon to decorate the plate that all ready looks good. The fruit was sweet as well. So, with that being said l would visit this place, the service e is great food is fast and great. Thank you Melissa for your outstanding service.

Had the chicken and waffles. Cannot complain! The house made jalapeño honey that comes with it is 5 ⭐️ on its own! Sat outside with our pup and enjoyed a cool morning. Will note, it is paid parking for the surrounding area.

We just happened to stumble upon this restaurant when the other one we wanted to go to didn't have what we wanted. Their food was ON POINT! Eggs Benedict was perfect. Perfect yolk pop. Potatoes were exactly like I like them. My son, who is pickiness to the extreme ate everything. We found our new Chico restaurant!

They have these breakfast potatoes that they offer with seemingly anything on the menu... I found these potatoes delicious. You get a healthy serving of them, and I ate my fill and then some. Took the rest home and wish I'd ordered a side of them! I got the biscuits and gravy, which is also good. I don't eat at this place often, but I'm always pleased with the meal and the servers are always friendly and attentive.

Mom's is the quintessential Chico breakfast! The menu is large enough for anyone to find something they will enjoy - from truly indulging to eating on the healthier side. They're also super accommodating with substitutions. We love to come here early, before the mid morning rush, and sit on the patio with the pup. The food is delish, the service is always prompt & friendly, and the coffee is always topped off. What more can you ask for?

Mom's is an amazing place to go to for breakfast! I got the health nut omelet and the cremini mushrooms in it were to die for! 1 of the only places open at 8am on a Thursday downtown in Chico...Mom's. After a quick visit to Golden 1 Credit Union my girlfriend and I decided to have breakfast. Mom's is a very nice choice if you are in need of a delicious meal. I had the country fried steak with potatoes and scrambled eggs. Other than the potatoes being warm instead of hot it was amazing. My girlfriend got chocolate chip pancakes and OMG were they huge. She ended up taking 2 and a half out of 3 home they were so big. Lol. Karen our waitress assured us that there was nothing wrong with our eyes it's just how big they make pancakes. With friendly staff, amazing food and unique look...Mom's is definitely a Chico gem.

One of my FAVORITE breakfast spots. I was in town from Reno for a metric century and just looking for a decent meal. Reviews looked good, so my buddy and I popped in. Wow. Atmosphere is very cozy and clean. They have a nice full bar, but their food is really where I was blown away. I still haven't been able to find an eggs benedict that good. Do yourself a favor and stop in!

Great service, love the home vibe of this restaurant. Ordered the 3-2-2 and Pancakes. The eggs are a little too much of a soft scramble for my liking but definitely still good.The pancakes were probably the best buttermilk pancakes 🥞 in Chico. So fluffy, and great taste! Love that you have the option to sit outside and enjoy downtown. It also is pet friendly!

We had a wonderful dinner with our family here! Our excellent waiter, Paul is a true ambassador for Mom's. He told us about a special beer made just for their establishment called 'Handy Man' which is delicious! A definite must-try. All of our food was top notch, 5 full stars here.

This is my FAVORITE restaurant in chico and the only place I order corned beef. The staff are always warm and welcoming. Food is delicious and I always feel right at home when I visit. Indoor or outdoor dining are both great! Mimosa was also fantastic!

Super cute and amazing food. I was able to substitute a meat patty for a veggie burger. Tons of fun alcoholic beverages. The staff was friendly and attentive. There's a little bit of wait but for us, a table of 2, it only took about 10 mins.

Whenever I've gone to this place I thought it was called crickets country kitchen. It's regular diner food, but everything is done very right. Place has become a bit of an annual tradition for me every year when I attend aftershock.

Great local spot for breakfast—I had the farmer’s breakfast: scrambled eggs, sausage links, potatoes, and a biscuit. The potatoes were the standout here—they are very soft and flavorful—almost like they are stewed and then thrown on the grill for browning. The biscuit was tasty and grew on me, as it is the dense/heavy type. Worth a stop in Chico!

Bill, party of three! We had one of the best breakfasts out that we've had in a few years. The three of us had Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, Veggie Lover's Scramble, and Corned Beef Hash with Swiss Cheese. All served with their delicious breakfast potatoes. Their breakfast potatoes are not like the home fries or country potatoes you can get at other places. I can go on and on about how moist and flavorful the stupid potatoes are but just try them. The chicken fried steak and the gravy that goes with it was well above average as was the corned beef hash, which was made from freshly cooked corned beef. Great restaurant staff that worked as a team, food was delivered while it was piping hot and drinks were refilled before they were empty. Great place.

They make a top-notch bloody Mary with all the fixings for breakfast, I ordered the veggie scramble. Delicious! Sat on the patio. Nice views, great service awesome drinks and great food.

Mom's...sister company of Madison Bear Garden, sitting on the opposite cat corner on Salem in downtown Chico, is actually the BETTER of the 2 restaurants. Why? Let's start with outside dining and better overall atmosphere...NOW, let's get to the real reason, the FOOD!! My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and were seated in about 2 minutes. The mood is uplifting, the inside is beautiful and subdued, and the staff plentiful and friendly. My wife ordered the Corned Beef Hash with 3 poached eggs and potatoes, I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with 3 over easy eggs, and we also ordered the French Toast to share. The wait time was minimal before we got our meal, and it was a glorious feast for both the eyes and stomach. Everything was cooked to perfection, from the tenderness of the corned beef and the chicken fried steak, to the prep of the eggs and the doneness of the potatoes, through to the French toast smothered with a scoop of cream in the middle. Our waitress checked on us a minimum of 6 times, refilling our coffee as needed. Dining here will have you spoiled against other establishments. The prices are fair considering the amount of food you receive, and it should be noted that we've heard ZERO bad reviews about Mom's. We will eat here a few more times just to further check out the menu deeper. Sorry, Nash's... you've been put on notice.

I’m visiting from Virginia. I’ve been to moms 4 days in a row. Service was excellent (my server Molly did her thing & the other two women did as well). I had the country fried steak, eggs scrambled soft with cheese, & the potatoes are my favorite. I also tried the French toast with cream cheese in the middle (Yessus). My food consistently came out, around ten minutes every time. I’m very loyal to moms. Either I’m eating breakfast at moms or I’ll just wait to lunch to eat.

It was a cold and rainy day in January and we were looking for some Comfort food. What a wonderful place this is to sit and enjoy a great American meal and watch the afternoon get washed clean by a winter storm. The service was excellent, the meal was even better. I had the best BLT I’ve ever had and Carol had a Fuji apple salad that she thought Was a six star event. We were both commenting on what a great find Mom’s turned out to be. We both highly recommend you give it a try.

Very cute decor, great service, high end diner/Cafe food. Veggies in my scramble were fresh and made to order, not frozen and pie-cooked under a lamp like many places. Service was fast, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I didn't care for the potatoes, boiled not fried and bland but healthier. The "pepper" gravy on the biscuits were not our cup of tea; little pepper, lots of parsley and sweet rather than very savory, no sausage in the gravy. Coffee was great!

An extraordinary sit down breakfast & lunch place with a great full bar in the downtown heart of Chico. We, a party of 4, went there for 11AM breakfast on graduation Saturday, so the place slam-packed with family and friends celebrating a momentous day. The corned beef hashx2, chicken-fried steak & eggs and House-Roasted Beef Dip sandwich was well worth 45 minute wait. We will be back.

Very cute, yummy and friendly. Staff treated me with a smile and friendly demeanor. The decoration is clean and historical which highlights the classic architecture. I am gluten free and dairy free. There are gluten free pancakes and toast options. I went with my favorite, corn beef and hash. Wowza! You can really tell this is real beef, with its delicious chunks. The only thing that would make it better is to have stoneground mustard instead of classic, but delicious nonetheless.

First time at Mom's. I will be back. I had the corned beef and eggs. My husband had the Greek scramble. Both were very good. The ambiance was cute. The only negative was the woman's restroom was out of seat covers, the paper towel holder was about to fall off of the wall. The door latches were also not quite right. Nothing a handy man or woman couldn't fix. Overall a very nice experience, our waiter was attentive not a long wait for our meal even though the restaurant was busy.

The majority of the staff are younger. They are very kind and definitely have great service, but personally in a work environment in the food industry it isn't exactly sanitary to have your phones in and out of your hands. The door staff definitely do that more often.

My family and I ate here at lunch today. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile. My family reported that they enjoyed their mostly breakfast related menu items including a Chico scramble, an Omelette, an Eggs Benedict, and a Cobb salad. The service was good and the restaurant seemed moderately busy for a Wednesday at 11 AM. Unfortunately, I ordered the "Mighty Burger" and it was undercooked with a soaked bottom bun. I ordered the burger "well done" and the menu reported that the burger was supposed to be served on a "toasted bun." The burger was medium rare at best and the soggy wet bottom bun was gross. I likely should have sent the burger back to the kitchen. Instead, I'll likely never be back.

The potatoes were under cooked and the eggs that I wanted over easy were over cooked and the butter they brought me were pre-packaged frozen cubes. I'm giving 3 stars because the waitress was super nice and after she heard I didn't like my meal she kindly asked to replace it and when I didn't do that (I had already eaten some), she took my food off the price.

Overall the food was delicious, service was great, friendly staff. The only gripe I had was that food options are pretty limited when you're on a low carb diet, (no steak and eggs) and while I understand that its not the restaurants problem it just that getting a decent low carb friendly substitute isn't really possible. So I have to pay full price for a omelette meal (can't eat the potatoes or biscuit) only to have them bring only the omelette but pay for different sides separately.

Atmosphere here is good, service too.. food is kinda basic and this place is kinda dirty just look at the entrance 🤷🏻Chico overall has turned in to a dirty high crime city but I guess that’s the norm for California now.

Went here on a weekday late morning - not busy at all, service was very slow. Food is good, not amazing, but it is good. I was really disappointed that I could not get hash browns with my breakfast . . . isn't this place supposed to be a breakfast place? Prices are a little high, but not too bad. All things considered; in the time it took us to eat breakfast here we could have driven to the Red Rooster in Durham, got a bigger better breakfast cheaper, and driven back to Chico. I saw other reviews that liked the atmosphere - well the patio seating is across the street from the bus station and the front street is busy, not an enjoyable atmosphere at all.

Customer service was great, the seating was super cramped, lil pricey and the food taste was so weird. I’ll stick to Mccormicks gravy sauce. Will not be returning.

Mom’s is grandiose in its presentation. Corner location, a sizable establishment that truly separates them. Decoration is everywhere, inspires respect if only for the investment. Service in our case was efficient by a professional female server. Food ordered: Farmer’s Breakfast, $10.99. 2 eggs, mom’s potatoes, hardwood smoked bacon chosen, and sourdough toast chosen over biscuit. Eggs over easy done right, bacon thin (2 slices), potatoes soft, agreeable, not much more than that. 3 Stars. Sourdough toast uneventful. 3 Stars. Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, $16.99. Thick gravy, average fried steak no ground breaker, mom’s breakfast potatoes again, 3 eggs over medium once again done to exact standards. A good chicken fried steak is difficult to find, some say you must travel as far as Texas, which definitely have the skills for some memorable ones. 3 Stars. Coffee strong with caffeine. Decaf also strong according to female companion. 3.5 Stars. Service fast and pleasant. 4 Stars. Total $36+? plus gratuity well earned. 3.5 Stars.

Food was not good at all everything was soggy even the waffle. Maybe I came on the wrong day but def over hyped. The service and atmosphere was great .

Good vibes. Fast service. Insipid food. Ordered the Southwest Omelette and the Chilaquiles. There was No Southwest in the omelette. Vegetables and mushrooms were barely sautéed. Biscuit was too doughy. No need for the fruit, waste of money and plate space. Potatoes were blah and bigger pieces were undercooked. As for the Chilaquiles, same and the Chile Verde was not made with enough seasoning.

I have given Mom’s several tries, and I am disappointed every single time. Today, I ordered French toast. It was served cold without butter or syrup. The waitress brought us those items eventually. Cold French toast is not good. I am not giving Mom’s any more chances.

Potatoes were mediocre and unseasoned, they forgot to add cheese to my omelette, and saw a cockroach in the main dining area. Staff seemed nice enough though. Quite pricey for what is offered. I wouldn’t recommend going here until they do some sort of managerial overhaul.

I went here for lunch. There was no line, but there was no hosts upfront to help us at first, we stood out there for about six minutes. We got seated, we ordered. I got a salad while my partner got a burger. She asked for it medium well, at best it was medium rare. The waitresses never checked in on us after we got our food. Only to give the bill.

I wanted to like this local breakfast referral. Summary: eggs were greasy, bacon and potatoes luke warm tasting like they sat in a warmer for awhile. I have had better breakfasts at motels. The server was surly and found it more important to chat with her coworkers than to bring more napkins or more coffee, butter for rolls- we got up and got it ourselves as if it were a cafeteria setting. The ladies bathroom was a mess. Chico and area offers so many better options, I would pass on this place.

I ordered a VEGETARIAN meal that was on the menu ( I literally ran to the restroom because my stomach was hurting and puked what content i had in my stomach) but started to get sick. My husband found ONE piece of chopped up HAM in my meal. My body doesn't do well with meat oils or meat. My body will automatically reject it. My daughter and husband and other people in my party later on got food poisoning. It was a horrible, good thing we had 2 bathrooms in our home. Recovery was a week for them. I recovered in 2 days. We went to MOMS for a celebration and we had never been there before. The service is a good friendly staffing but since it's so busy the attentiveness to the customers is limited. We had a bad experience. Maybe we went at the wrong time or something, but we won't go back to try it out... Our bill was $233.75. I don't know how much tip was left by the other parties. To each their own, though. I hear it's a great place, though, give it try. Don't let my experience deter you from stopping in at MOMS.
