Opiniones de Mary's Gold Miner Cafe Folsom
Great breakfast! Food and service was amazing, they are busy as heck but always had a smile and were nice. Food was excellent, real thick bacon yummy.
We came there we’d wanted an appointment in DMV. Told we don’t have a lot of time to a waiter and she brought food fast, and all her service was amazing. Food was good too. And we eat, and back to DMV in time. When you came to the restaurant we had 20 people ahead in the dmv line. So if you have to wait a line in dmv, you can spend time in the restaurant.
Busy busy restaurant small inside meeting a little crowded. But the food is great biscuits and gravy are awesome. Great portion sizes decent prices services great depending on your waiter.
The portions are huge, everything was absolutely delicious! I had a meaty scramble, with the house potatoes and a huge biscuit! My husband had the classic breakfast, eggs, sausage and bacon, and biscuits/gravy! This place is a must visit, what a great find!
Gold-Miner Café in Folsom is a classic diner that feels like you’re home with grandma cooking. Cozy, family-friendly, and full of locals who clearly love this spot. I came for brunch, and the food was hearty, just what you’d hope for at a traditional diner. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, all smiling and creating such a warm, welcoming energy. You can tell this is a local favorite by the mix of families, regulars, and friendly conversations filling the room. If you’re looking for a cozy breakfast or brunch spot in Folsom with genuine service and that nostalgic diner feel, Gold-Miner Café is the place to go.
When you walk into a café for breakfast and see that all the tables are full, you know you’re at a popular restaurant with excellent food. The atmosphere was charming and the service was fast and friendly. I had the chorizo scramble and a single pancake. The pancake was the best I’ve ever had. I recommend gold minor Café for the food, the friendly staff and the reasonable fare.
I used to do sales in Folsom back in the early 90s and I remember having breakfast there once or twice. At the time there wasn't much in the area other than the small strip mall that the Cafe was located in. Well, Folsom has changed a great deal in 30 plus years but Gold Miner Cafe is almost exactly as I remember it. It's the quintessential local hangout. Great food and friendly service. I had their Chicken Fried Steak with grilled potatoes. It's done on the grill rather than in the deep fryer with a very thick, flavorful gravy and I really enjoyed it! It's nice to see that some things never change!
Great little spot with fantastic service and good food. It smelled delicious when we walked through the door. There was a clean table for us instantly and our coffee was quick to come as well. Hot and fresh and strong enough. We are happy we found this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone wanting a cafe style meal. We were there at breakfast time so that’s what we got. They had real butter on the fluffy pancakes and the sausage was very tasty as well.
Found these little gem on our way back home. The service , environment and food was absolutely amazing. The portions are huge so ask your server while ordering. I have no complaints or suggestions. This is a place I would definitely come back to . Highly recommend the biscuits , gravy and raspberry jam is a-1
One word to describe the food at Gold Miners Cafe - “humongous “. The food portion is big!!! The menu is named after the staff and loyal patrons of the cafe. Loved their home style potatoes. Service is quick and friendly. Ambience is that of a small town’s mom and pop’s cafe. Most of the customers look like their regulars. Definitely a place to check out if you are visiting Folsom.
Busy breakfast spot filled with locals all week long. Hearty portions, fast and friendly service. Kind of noisy but lively.
Great cafe for a hearty American brunch in Folsom! It is located at an outdoor strip mall with lots of parking. It doesn't look much from the outside but has a cute decor once you are in (think large wall clock and painted windows with an old town west view outside). We got seated immediately and our server was an older, sweet lady who was friendly and quick. Her recommendation was right on the spot! We ordered freshly squeezed orange juice, hot chocolate, the country eggs Benedict and the chili Verde skillet. The orange juice was definitely freshly squeezed and delicious. The hot chocolate was good. Portions for our main dishes were huge. We were able to have a full brunch, an evening snack and a full dinner for 2 out of those two dishes. The country scramble was yummy - good sausage, decent eggs, decent biscuit, fantastic gravy. The potatoes could have had more of a kick. The gravy was quite heavy so you couldn't eat a lot of it at once. The chili Verde skillet was excellent - it didn't come on a skillet, which means that the food was warm but didn't continue cooking and burning on a hot skillet. It had eggs, pork, veggies, all smothered in chili Verde sauce with cheese and sour cream. It came with a side of buttered bread. The whole thing was really, really, really, really good!! I do wish that they had put slightly less salt, but my husband, who adds salt to his food, loved it. It was delicious and hearty, especially with the bread! I recommend ordering this and asking them to back off on the salt a little. Pricing wise, it was reasonable. The overall menu is extensive and their service is quick. We recommend coming here if you want a good American style brunch!
Love this place… tgreat breakfast… I had eggs Benedict with hash browns, my friend had chicken fried steak with home fries, side of biscuits & gravy. Other had French toast … We all loved our food and we can’t wait to go back for some more delicious food… I liked the murals of Johnny Cash .
We visited on Sunday around noon for family brunch. We were seated immediately in the booth. The restaurant was full but the service was fast. - kids Mickey mouse pancake & bacon: delicious and generous portion. The pancake was huge! It was fluffy and tasty. The bacon strips were super crispy - Agnes' homemade corn beef hash with hash brown: just okay. The eggs were cooked to our request (still had runny yolks). The hash brown was just okay - I wish they were more crispy. The corn beef hash was okay - lack of seasoning.
Gold Miner Cafe was a suggestion by our hotel staff at the Lake Natoma Inn. First time here, my impression is hole in the wall restaurant that definitely needs a bigger building. There were many people outside waiting to get a table. After a 15 minute wait, we were seated at a table neat the kitchen. It is slightly noisy with all the people but not crowded. Server was professional, but kind. Food was served fairly quick considering how busy they were. Staff kept up on keeping drinks topped off. Now on to the food, it wasn't great. The biscuit and sausage gravy was mediocre to say the least. Sausage pieces were very small. And the biscuit was very brittle. The French toast platter ok, but the syrup was watery and there was way too much butter of the platter. Pancakes were decent size and tasty, but again the syrup being watered down like they're trying to save money on the syrup so they are filling it with water. Over all breakfast for 2 ran around $40. I will NOT be going back to this restaurant in the future.
I have been coming here for better than 20 years. We had not been out to breakfast in a year or so, and decided to honor this long standing tradition in my husband's family that has lived in Folsom since the 1970's. They really do need to update it. For the amount of service they do, they should be able to give it some upgrades slowly, like the carpeting that would probably crawl out the door on its own. It has always been typical to wait a little bit during peak hours, and our visit was no different. But we were seated in about 10 minutes and that was fine and expected. However, it seems that the quality has gone down a bit and the price is a bit ridiculous for what you get quality-wise. If you just want lots of calories, this is the place. But for 1 cup of coffee, eggs w/ biscuits and gravy and potatoes, and one egg, one pancake and some hash browns it was the price of dinner. I mean, I cook at home with organic food and could have fed a lot of people for the money we paid and they should be getting wholesale prices. I don't think they will get our business by default anymore, sadly.
I visited this location on February 10th. The complaint I have is with the portion. The food was tasty and the waitresses were great. But for $20 I expect at least the size of an omelet for a scramble dish. My portion was considerably smaller than my partners omelette. I didn't want to complain and fear of the cook messing with my food. Of course I have options to eat anywhere else which might be the case going forward. It's sad because this seems to be one of the only country breakfast houses around the area. Needless to say, ultimately I was disatisfied.
Order from doordash through this restaurant, which is pretty usually good when you dine in twice already. I've ordered to be delivered to my home and the food is terrible. It is incredibly bland and you don't get what you order. You get what the restaurant wants to send you. It's never the right stuff!
