1st time customer here! Just an older place with great food & drinks. Great service laid back environment 👌 drink specials, karaoke, and other great things to offer. Outdoor seating is readily available and a good amount. Loved all the plants and greenery! Don't care for the homeless people in the back, but I'm not from CA, so I don't care for the CA homeless abundance problem anywhere in CA. 🤭 Will be in the area for a bit and will definitely be back.

Best comfort food with fantastic service!

I had their Special, Steak and eggs. Since I'm mostly on a Keto diet it was perfect. The steak was super tender and the eggs just how I like them. I was able to substitute the hash browns for fruit that was ripe and juicy. I'll definitely be going back to the Long house again.

My first time there, and I really liked it. Our waitress (I believe her name was Mary or Maria--it's been a couple weeks now, and I just can't remember, so I apologize (could've even been Donna, which, I know, does NOT correlate in any way to Mary, but such is the case sometime with trying to remember names!) was VERY wonderful. My uncle accidentally ordered the wrong item (he hates mushrooms but accidentally ordered a dish LOADED with them), and our waitress very kindly took it back and got him the right plate--no charge (and the error was his! He'd meant to order, say, the "classic" but ordered the "contemporary" instead (not the actual names, of course, but he'd simply misread the menu)). I, on the other hand, battled between a couple salads and either the fish sandwich or the fish-and-chips plate. However, I settled with the steak salad...and WOW. It was HUGE! And GOOD. The steak was cooked in a garlicky sauce, which gave it a GREAT flavor (that also blended well with the rest of the salad) and made it SO tender. There was avocado, eggs, and, gosh, a bunch of other ingredients that I can't remember now, but it was good! The atmosphere at Longhouse is quaint, low-key, and cozy. The service was excellent. The food was superb. All in all, it was a great visit, and I hope to return to try out some of their other offerings.

This review is long in coming. My wife and me have been coming to The Longhouse for close to 8 years now, and it has never disappointed. A big reason for that, is the people that work there. If you have been more than once to Longhouse, you will hear Lulu’s voice greeting everyone that comes in, and if you know her will get a great big hug (if you’re lucky). She’s also an exceptional waitress… so much so, she’s always busy, and is always asked for with clientele (like us) that have been coming in for years. Lulu always works with the customer to accommodate your dietary needs (within their menu), and always has a smile on her face, and has become a good friend over the years. If Lulu’s not available, Lucy is also fantastic… actually everybody there is great! When it comes to the food, you cannot go wrong here. Their breakfasts are exceptional and abundant, with special omelet and breakfast entrees during the week and weekends. You can’t beat the lunches either… the burgers are crazy good, along with the other sandwiches and salads (don’t forget the garlic fries). The salads are awesome… FRESH! We’ve never had a bad salad here… even their side salads are solid. Danny Maroudas (owner) has done a fantastic job with the kitchen. The kitchen staff uses a deft hand when preparing seafood… especially the salmon. I would put their salmon up against other top-shelf places in the valley. Same thing with the rest of the dinner items; ribs, pasta, steaks… the kitchen just gets it done well. If you are looking for a “trendy Silicon Valley” dining spot, keep driving. If you want great food, without a lot of hype, this is the place to come. If you come on the weekends, be prepared to wait a little bit, this is a big family place, and it’s not unusual to see multiple parties of 15 or more for Saturday or Sunday for breakfast or brunch. They have a full bar, and the drinks are like the food… really good, and the brunches have a great array of different Mimosas and solid Bloody Marys to sure up the brunch crowd. The bar gets busy during football season too, with entertainment in the summer on weekends. If you’re in Gilroy and are looking for a place to grab a great meal, and a nice time… Longhouse is the place to be. It’s worth the drive from Campbell to come for lunch.

First time back since reopened a while ago. Not much changed, which is good as the food was excellent. Got to be best diner in Gilroy.

Old school cool. Emphasis on quality with a nice menu of classic dishes. Dinner began with a generous basket of warm bread and butter. Great vegetables, perfectly fried seafood, nice steak and a broad wine list. We love to stop here on our way back to SF from LA.

My wife and I went there for the first time, we was vacation looking for a place to eat on our way back home we stop there we waited for about ten to fifteen minutes. It must be great place to eat because there was lots of people there. The atmosphere was a family place to take your family or friends. The food was fantastic.

The steaks are always excellent. I've been doing takeout recently, but tonight they were open with inside seating. Service is excellent. Update- we go two to three times a month. The food is always excellent as is the service. Our waitress checked to make sure our order was all correct before giving it to us.

Been passing this place and even eating at the bbq place across and have always wondered how this restaurant is. Finally tried Longhouse and sure did enjoyed our experience. Everything feels like old school homey diner but definitely serves great food. Their steaks and ribs tasted really good and the chicken Alfredo sauce was definitely house made and different from your usual creamy and sweet sauce. Definitely will be back again.

We were looking for breakfast restaurants in Morgan Hill and they were busy and packed then we went to Gilroy and found this nice medium size restaurant on the corner of Monterey and Miller Slough. The hostess and everyone there greeted us like MVP's. Our waitress was LuLu and she was fantastic, a true pro and veteran. The combo's they had on the menu were great and prices were perfect for our pocket. I decided on the New York Steak sandwich with a ice cold soda. They also had pancakes with strawberries and my lady decided on that plate with the Spinach and Ham omelette and hashbrowns. The coffee was excellent and kept warm. LuLu kept it coming and we were very satisfied. Longhorn will be on our list of 5 star restaurants. We will be back. This place has been around for along time and has survived a couple of fires and covid and still operating. A great place to drive to and visit.

We were traveling from San Francisco to Morro Bay and stopped in Gilroy for dinner. The waitstaff were friendly, the accommodations comfortable if dated, and the food was tasty and plentiful. My wife ordered the Garlic Salmon Salad, I got the Baby Back Ribs. Both were delicious, and were very ample serving sizes. The salmon was cooked perfectly and nicely presented with the added prawns on a bed of lettuce. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, the sauce had just the right kick for me, and the baked potato topped it off nicely. The staff were appropriately attentive even while preparing to close for the evening. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant; wish we lived closer!

Old school breakfast, lunch and dinner place with an active bar. Food is tasty and solid - not too much fancy on the menu. Staff friendly and helpful. Mostly come here for breakfast, but was a little surprised to find the dinners even better. A good alternative to Od's, since it may never finish their remodel.

This was my first time here and we went for a family gathering. They had arranged a buffet for all of us. The food was very good. I had chicken in a tomato sauce, pasta, veggies and green salad. The chicken was nicely cooked, with a lot of flavor and the pasta was yummy too. There was an Italian sauce with mushrooms that I put on broccoli that I really liked too.

Not a bad restaurant at all. Decor can be touched up, but let's talk about the food. Their food is great and kind of roadhouse style. Nice amount of food for the price. Great selection of beer including Michelob ultra. Very nice staff. Very attentive. Exactly what you want in a restaurant during a day of traveling!

Just went here the other day. Fast service, friendly staff & oh my goodness huge portions. Come hungry! Neither me or my wife could finish what we ordered, had to get to go boxes. We probably could of just shared a dish. We'll definitely be going back to this establishment 😉

Consistently good food and good value. The servers often seem overwhelmed, but they are really pleasant and friendly. I would absolutely recommend Longhouse as one of the best in the area. Don't try calling. If you do get through, you are most likely to be put on hold and forgotten.

Nice little spot in Gilroy. Friendly and fast service during the lunch rush. Food was fantastic. Only issue I have is the "triple decker" club is just a regular club halved and then each side is stacked on one another. It's not actually a full triple decker club. It was very tasty but was certainly not what I was expecting. Don't let this discourage you from stopping here. Great food and good people.

Good food and nice employees. There was no wait for indoor seating. They do practice social distancing. I had the country scramble and pancakes. The salsa is pretty good and service was great. It was a lot of food. I probably gained a pound.

The Long House is finally open after a two year wait, Gilroy's best steak house is still as good as it was before the fire. It's all brand new inside. The menu is still limited.

Pretty good diner food. Their steaks come out perfect and there's huge portions. The dinner entrees include soup or salad, as well as a small dessert at the end. Service was great. We never had to ask for beverage refills and our server Karie was friendly and attentive without hovering.

Salad was a flop. Burgers are good. Waitress was very sweet. Please get a bigger tank for the big fishy you have. It can barely turn around.

The restaurant is a little outdated. I guess it is fine if you have been going there for years, you don't want it to change. But it could use more lighting and few changes to add a little update. The service is really good. The food was okay, but menu definitely needs more variety. I can always tell a good steak because it doesn't need to be drowned in any sauces. And this one was. But overall, a nice restaurant. I have been here for breakfast and they do that meal right!

Tried this place for the first time after living in Gilroy for a few years. The outside looks outdated, the service was slow, but the food was pretty okay. They offer outside seating and we were told to order the half fried chicken. Pretty juicy, deliciously paired with fries. Lots of locals come over here I could tell.

Saw the high ratings and decided this would be a good idea for dinner. I had the Minestrone soup. Wait staff said it was really good. It was terrible. It was extremely overcooked. The vegetables were mush. There were no seasoning either. My dinner companion ordered short stack of pancakes. The pancakes were very large. He stated the taste wasn’t that great and tasted salty. We are very disappointed!

I've loved this place for many many years, but recently saw that they have gotten 74/100 on their County Health Inspections the last three years!! Kitchen seems to be hiding some secrets. Food safety over nostalgia. I hope they try harder.

Waited to be seated for 10-15 (not a big deal). Cozy atmosphere. Waitress was very nice. Soup was pleasant, warm, and filling. Didn't finish it as I didn't want to fill up. Ordered the French Dip very shortly after sitting. It took about another 15 minutes for food to arrive. Presented well, light pink roast beef, nice amount of fries. However, the roast beef was very chewy and stringy. Tried both sides of the sandwich and just couldn't get through any of it. Au jus seemed nice. I left 2 stars as the waitress wanted to make it up, but I just didn't have the time to wait for a remake or something else to be made. Just skip the French dip.

Terrible all around. They watched us stand there waiting to be seated, no one said anything, so we're sat ourselves. Waitress was slow took forever for her to take our order. Didn't get all food at once, so ate first part while waiting for the rest to arrive. Ordered a garlic steak, came too chewy to eat and with no garlic. What a waste of time and money. When told waitress she acted and did nothing. Won't ever recommend or eat there again. This place is horrible.

Well guess what?? This is going to be a VERY disappointing review. As you can see from the past I have given 5 Stars. Today as of July 20th 2025.. it's completely the opposite...I ordered to go ...a hot turkey open face. Including a salad and cranberry sauce with turkey gravy. I was in the bar. I got my order paid the waitress a. 10 Dollar tip. Didn't check it .I got home.1 no cranberry sauce. 2 no salad.. 3 . Brown gravy COVERED the whole mess..no veggies.. it was sloppy and nothing tested like turkey... Grrrr I called no answer..called again hang up. Traveled all the way back to the restaurant and there was a line and super busy.. meanwhile.. I'm getting ignored and my blood pressure is going up.. finally I saw the manager behind the window by the cooks.. He made it over and added my salad.. GUESS WHAT??.STILL.BROWN.GRAVY! HE SAID THATS WHAT THEY WERE SERVING..NOOO THE PERSON I SAW IN THE BAR.HAD TURKEY GRAVY.. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?? I LEFT WITH THE do OVER NOT TO CAUSE A SCENE.. I WANT MONEY BACK OR AN. APOLOGY. THIS USES TO BE MY FAVORITE PLACE AND CONSISTENT GOOD SERVICE AND FOOD. NOT ANYMORE 😔

Food was awful. Person cooking did not know how to season food or cook shrimp. We ordered from the menu and the waitress and staff argued saying it wasn't an item. When we got our food, tasted bland and watery. Uses canned mushrooms instead of fresh. Save yourself the money and just go to jack in the box.

The waitress was so rude to us she helped people who walked in before us. Shes the blonde that speaks spanish didnt get her name. We didnot even get seated she told us to go sit at an empty table. I could have told she disliked my mother because of her skin color. We were there monday february 2nd she needs to learn to treat people the way she would like to be treated. We left NO tip she didnt deserve it. She needs to be fired because even her face showed disgust towards our family!

Sometimes you need to call a spade a spade. I appreciate the community history here but the last few times here the food has been really awful and really cold. Something has changed here…also who serves a spicy spaghetti as part of a kids meal with no heads up about it being spicy. after years of promoting Longs kitchen, and eating there with family and friends, for over ten years I finally run into a disappointment that will question my love and dedication to longs kitchen. I ask for a phily cheese stake, the meet was cook with pick in the center. Not thinly cut I HATE MEET THAT IS NOT COOKED AL THE WAY THOUGH. Im also a love and CONNOISSEUR of phily Cheese Stake. The meet has never been pick it has a delicious unique taste, In my travels and many restaurants and Sandwhich places A phily cheese Stake has "NEVER" been pink 1.it is cooked to a well-done, uniform gray-brown, as opposed to a medium-rare or pink center, which is a common mistake or misperception. The Waiter insisted that he's been cooking for years and That I was wrong. 2.There’s very little argument over the cut of beef used in a cheesesteak. It’s almost always rib eye that is sliced just short of paper thin on a deli slicer. Rib eye has assertive beefy flavor and is well marbled with delicious fat, which, when cut thin and cooked until browned, will still remain tender bite after bite. (While rib eye rings true for a Philly cheesesteak, a quick-cooking home version of this sandwich can be made quite well with skirt steak, which usually runs about half the cost of rib eye. Its thin profile and open-grained texture make for easy slicing, and its flavor is near to rib eye.)
