I love me some Nigerian jollof rice. They cook well here especially if you are ordering for an event! I love their soup, rice, moimoi, fried chicken. Everything taste so good!! I recommend
Excellent and cheap foods.
The food was delicious and fresh! The prices were very reasonable and a nice generous portion. I’ll continue to come here, great job!
I made a mistake with a rice order for pick up and the worker helped to get me a pan of rice, although I didn't have an official order. She was understanding and helpful, and the wait still wasn't very long, especially as they cook the food fresh. My household thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very very good rice
United Sisters Restaurant is a Godly environment. The food is outstanding and fantastic. There's no restuarant in USA that can be compared with it. Their services is prompt in an awesome environment and peaceful. Go and check it out and you'll have a testimony to give as well .
The food is always so fresh and hot!! Love the Egusi soup and fufu! Fish was also very delicious 🤤

Delicious food and you really get a family feel. A stand and a must if you're in Houston! Don't be afraid to ask questions! They will assist! P.s.They don't have ice, but you can ask for a cold glass with your cold drink.
This is one of my favorite places to satisfy my cravings for delicious cuisine. 2024 November Update. I took my family to this place to try African cuisine for their very first time. We ordered Talapia with stew, rice, spinach and plantains, moi moi, goat meat and my all time favorite Egusi soup with assorted meats and pounded yam Fufu. The service was Outstanding and the food was a delicious delicacy totally 😋 👌 10 star delicious. They absolutely loved it. We drove 2 1/2 hours to get there and we were not disappointed. I look forward to bringing more of my family there to experience these delicious foods and more. Keep up the excellent work 👏.
Food is great. Owner is very friendly and polite. United Sisters Restaurant was the caterer for my wedding of 250+ guests. Everyone loved the food and asked us who the caterer was. I love that I can call ahead of time and place my order and it will be ready for pickup when I get there. I have been a customer for years. United Sisters Restaurant is actually the preferred caterer for events at our church. We always look forward to the delicious food. Our favorite is the coconut rice with spinach and hen. We love the meat pie too.

In the past, I have went there. The wait was too long. The soup tasted old. I went there on yesterday. The coconut rice with spinach and plantains with a side of stew was delicious. I will give them another chance.
The food is always delicious, but their customer service needs serious help and training. I order my meal for pickup in order to avoid the customer service reps.
The food was good, authentic Nigerian cuisine. The Jollaf rice wasn't too spicy, like some others I've tried. And the service was excellent.
Food is good, but there seems to always be a wait even when you call ahead and you're told it'll be ready in minutes and your drive exceeds those minutes. For example, being told the food will be ready in 10 minutes and you get there 15 minutes later, and it's still not ready to be picked up.
The food here is excellent. It tastes like authentic Nigerian cuisine . It’s sooo good. I’ve been coming here so long. Their oha, egusi, and vegetable soup, moi moi, coconut rice, jollof rice, plantain and vegetables are so delicious. The owner is also very pleasant. If you want some of the best Nigerian food in Houston then come here.

Had no idea this place was actually opened, I love moi moi so when I looked some up near me it popped up in the same area and I decided to pop in. The restaurant itself wasn’t very inviting, it was dark and empty I was a little hesitant to go inside but I did, the wait wasn’t long. I ordered moi moi, jollof with veggies(spinach) and beef. $12 for all of this, portions were nice and I LOVE that the beef was included in the rice most African restaurants make you buy separately. I was a little upset and semi disappointed that the moimoi was given to me cold out of a fridge up front, when I got home the rice looked a little disappointing as it was brown vs that beautiful red we tend to see, I warmed up the moimoi and dug in! So good!! Food was great! The beef did taste slightly different as others said but NOT sour, just like they use a different seasoning. I will definitely be going back next week.

Good local Nigerian dishes. The pepper soup was really great. Totally enjoyed other meals served there. Although service was delayed, they need to improve on that.
Food was awesome.. 3 stars because of the service. Waited forever for someone to come take my order, ended up having to get up to go place the order.Took another eternity before my food was brought out. Honestly just go there for the food and forget having the nice dining experience
We usually don't get good service anytime we visit here, but we keep coming back because they have very good food.i will recommend this place to anyone that wants to eat good Nigerian or African food, but be prepared for the long wait time before you are attended to. Also they offer catering services and are very reasonably priced.
Fairly busy establishment, friendly staff., food was extremely inexpensive yet sort of bland. We ordered egusi/ogbono soup with garri and fried talapia and plantains. The soup wasn’t very much seasoned. Everything came out to about $25 so again pretty cheap. Great portions. Only thing I disliked it seems as though they serve premade food hence the fish I ordered had been sitting in the warmer prior to me entering the establishment.
The food is okay but could use better meat than towels. Expect to wait on your orders because its never ready on time. The owner can use some customer service lectures. The restaurant could use some renovation or face lift.
Lunch there was good. The bitter-leaf soup I had was quite tasty and I guess it was with fresh leaves. The ambience was relatively ok. Airfreshners could mitigate the very strong foul smell at the convenience - so someone doesn't lose his/her appetite. It was without any type of hand wash - which isn't quite hygienic for a restaurant.
I love African food and this was an okay experience but I love the price of the meal. I got a side jollof rice and okra soup with beef. Okra was still crunchy and the rice isn't as seasoned as the Jollof rice from Cameroon. I will give them another try.

I say the food was different for me but it was also a new experience. I asked our server Saker about his favorite dish. We got that and tried it. We also got some Suya, beef skewers. Spicy but flavorful. We got some jollof Rice with Plantain, fried Tilapia dish, Egusi Soup with pounded yam, We tried the stewed Goat in tomato broth. That one was my favorite. Everything was very good. I enjoyed it very much. I say one lesson by the staff for newcomers is to teach us how to eat the food. I say every culture is different, so having a lesson I think is vital when visitors come. I didn't know you put the fufu in the egusi soup and eat it. I want to understand the culture and respect it. It's all about a cultural experience. For one evening, I felt as if I was a new country. Eating their food and partaking in their culture.
The prices are great but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. They use A LOT of palm oil in their soups and if u get the beef in ur soup be forewarned that it will be a dry old piece of meat tht was fried possible a few days before. I got two different soups and both the beef in them tasted old and sour. I was so disappointed and now I understand why their plates are only $12. If ur hungry and don’t care about enjoying quality or plentiful meats in ur soup or about eating lots soup with so much red oil it literally coats ur tongue, give this place a try. The soup itself is ok for the price.

Lady was rude as hell. Food was alright had the goat and rice. Rice was better than the goat she picked bad cuts of meat I had two big pieces of nothing but fat, they didn't have plantains either. On top of that I paid 15 bucks for a medium sized plate when i could have spent the same at cool runnings for a HUGE plate. But I digress, wont be back there.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy the owner is very rude and dismissive.i feel bad for the employees because they are very nice.. to be honest i only went here because it was close to my home but i will travel for better service. Today was my last straw
I went to a party where food from United sisters was served. The food was good, but everybody from the party woke up the next day with severe diarrhea and some people were even vomiting. I spent A good majority of the day running to the restroom. Everyone I talk to had the same experience. The food was eaten within an hour of pick up so it had to be something on their end.
You guys should try and be consistent with the quality of some foods you sell. I have bought large portions of white soup from you 3 times and they have all been different each time. This last time is the worst. Please bring some consistency to your recipe and menus. Your foods are actually good, please keep them consistent.
The older lady taking the order appeared to be annoyed that we asked questions about items on the menu. Even asked me "Are you Nigerian? If you are you would know it" (referring to a dish). I was unaware one had to be Nigerian to eat their food. That was very rude of her, and we should have taken our dollars elsewhere. Due to the fact that we drove from the other side of town, I went on and proceeded with the order. The inside of the restaurant was very cold as well, and it was a cold day out. I do not plan to ever return to this establishment. The food did not taste good! The meat looked and tasted old. Meat was also very tough!

Sigh. I'm over Nigerian restaurants never having most of the things they place on their menu and instead of seeking contrite about it, they act as if you're bothering them. No customer service whatsoever and I didn't even eat there eventually because I truly felt like I was bothering them by being there. Won't be going back.
There has been numerous times I have eaten food from this place. My only complaint is the rice......................... How cheap is rice??? Why serve someone hard, overnight, leftover cold rice? It's so disgusting. How long does it take rice to cook? Everytime I ask for fresh rice they say okay but it isn't. I just left there getting a plate(jallof rice, vegetable, fried he&plantain.Everything was amazing but then I had a spoon of rice........... I am highly upset for that to be my main dish and it was horrible.I just threw the whole plate away,$10.00 wasted. Please stop serving people that mess. I'm a rice eater so I know when I'm getting freshly cooked rice. This is your business......... Yes, I'm very upset. Even when catering....... Don't give us that mess. From:An unsatisfied customer🙁
Extremely unprofessional and unsanitary. Fly traps with tons of flys that haven't been changed are scattered everywhere. Disgusting establishment. They cater food and leave their customers orders on the floors that haven't been washed since God knows when. Wait times are extremely long and it's not even authentic Nigerian food. They hired cheap Latino workers in the kitchen instead of Nigerian chefs. Definitely on the bottom of list when it comes to Nigerian Food in Houston. There's Trinity, Aria, Cafe Abuja, Suya Hut Finger Licking are all much better. If you're curious as to why such a harsh review here's a review of my encounter with them.: I went to pick up a catering order for my mother that was worth about more than $300 worth of food. As the Latino employee rang me up, he told me that the remaining balance was $260. (My mother already paid a deposit for the food) I only had $200 on me so I asked if I can pay the remaining 60 with my card. They refused and said cash only. They do this because they are corrupt and using Tax Evasion schemes to make more money. I grudgingly agreed and went to the nearby bank to obtain the remaining balance. The worker had my food and I was kind enough to assist him in loading the food into my car. As I was arranging the food he came out and said that was all and it was complete thank you sir have a nice day and sent me on my way. I live 45 minutes away and 5 minutes away from my house I get a call from my mother saying I had forgotten the meat? So I told her I didn't forget anything he told me everything was in the car. So I now had to drive back 45 minutes to collect the remaining food. This was very unsettling because I'm now late for my fathers birthday celebration. So as I arrive, the same Latino worker apologizes and blamed me for forgetting the meat. I was like you or me? He said "I FORGOT" admitting fault to the situation. So since I paid cash, I asked for some sort of discount or partial reimbursement for my troubles. I and the owner/manager had a brief exchange and everyone in the restaurant that observed the situation said that they were at fault. But they refused to provide any sort of reimbursement. "I'm not giving you a damn dime" and she blamed the confrontation on the the fact that I'm "today's youth" not her employee that forgot my food and made me take an extra trip. It wasn't about the money it was about the principle. You don't respect the customers that are sustaining your business then you don't deserve to have a business at all. Read the other recent reviews that support my claims.
👍🏽 booths, fufu (pounded yam) is fun finger food! 👎🏽Prices aren’t on menu, TV volume shouldn’t be so loud to distrupt table convo, My moms Egusi is much better and she’s Anglo-American. 5 min after my order was brought (20 min total), they tell my friend they don’t have what was ordered (and that was after going through the menu of “we don’t have that”) I had to eat alone so my food didn’t turn cold and the second order came out 20 min after.
The ofe nSara was like thick cocoyam soup and taste horrible. I asked for to go with assorted meat and they put a 2 big bones for me with Stockfish. The bitter leaf soup was manageable but such shouldn't come form a known restaurant like United
Truth is I saw a dead roach in thier glass pastry oven. Customer service is horrible & thier food isn’t good quality like it use to be back in the days. Ate Igusi soup & my stomach started hurting badly.
The owner is very rude and disrespectful to the customers. Their egusi soup is not good so if you tends to eat that go a different route. The owner makes Custormers to pay with cash for all catering services so she can defraud the irs by not paying the actual taxes.
On 3/7/14, came out to this location, ordered their fresh catfish and plantains n vegetables. When the food came out, it was half the section of fish that was brought out. I complained to my server that the fish given was much smaller than what was on the menu pics. My server told me they can't do anything, because they are not the one serving the food. Finally he took the food back. I was of the impression that they will change it and replace with d right fish. 40 minutes later, no food yet was brought out. Got so bad that one of the people I came there with, called for the owner of the restaurant. The manager came out. We explained to him, but still no.change. I will never come here again. Food is good but service is horrible!
I had a horrible experience. I ordered an egusi soup with chicken and no fish. When my order was served to me there was a strong fishy smell. When I asked if there was fish in my soup the lady told me no. I gave it to my daughter because I couldn’t even stand the smell. I also ordered an egusi soup with beef and no fish to go for my friend. When she opened her egusi soup, there was a strong fishy smell and a huge piece of fish in her soup. She couldn’t eat hers either. The food was horrible and my money wasted. I will never go back or refer anyone to go there.
I think the owner should evaluate the workers she hires. This Yoruba girl Omobola who probably recently came to the states has nasty attitude, disrespectful. I have at least 3 friends who complained the same thing, laughs and treat customers rudely. She literally put my food at the end of a large table and asked that I should get up and get the food myself. And she talks back to customers. Not going back and my friends are not going bad due to consistent poor service
A colossal disappointment of a restaurant. Cash-grabbing owner who sells your preordered food to the first available customer and who doesn’t CARE at all how business operates. The food is okay but not worth the horrible customer service. I wonder if it’s possible to give 0 stars?
The lady with the clown make up that works in the back rude and disrespectful . Just go to Suya Hut y’all. The only african restaurant that actually respects their customers . My order was missing coconut rice and the lady refused to let me pay with my debit card . Only wanted cash and said to me why am I even talking to you .
Not safe for vegans. They told me they had vegan options, but the Egusi soup I received had fish bones in it. Either they don't understand what vegan is or they don't care. Either way I wouldn't trust any "vegan" food from them.
My pounded yam is white white and doesn’t even smell like pounded yam. I’ve been eating this for decades I know pounded yam when I see and this is not it. WHAT IS THIS????

I taste many African food and this is the worst food I ever taste. When you go to a Hispanic restaurant or Asian restaurant you will never see a black person cook them how come is expanded cooking African food. I said I didn't want no meat in my food and it was a whole bunch of dry fish I will never go back there anymore. I had to put my own season in my own spice into the food to taste good so I don't waste my money.
A few people told me about this place and saying that the food was great and reasonable priced. The display appreared to be appealing. I ordered suya, egusi with meat. i am disapointed in the taste wasn't worth what i paid. I am NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE. I would chose another day to try but i dont want to risk it again.
One time my mom ordered food under her name and it was pretty bad. She later (just a few weeks ago actually) ordered the same thing under a specific person's name and the food was well taken care of and even tasted better. I don't think they will take care of your order unless you are REALLY close with the owner, which is just TERRIBLE customer service. This place has ALOT of potential if they would just be consistent with the quality of their food, and stop playing favorites.
I am scorching hot that I paid $15.00 for spicy beef fufu that came out about 20 min later tasting like the beef was most definitely cooked last year! I am still picking beef out my teeth as I type. On top of it all there was nothing spicy about the dish after requesting very spicy. And the joloff rice was not giving. Everything was off. I was then ridiculed by the cashier stating since Im not African I dont know how fufu tastes. Never again. I definitely wanted to replace the dish but the two cashiers hassling me telling me I am wrong about tasting my food to determine if I was able to enjoy my $15.00 lunch will never see one red penny from me ever again! Like was I supposed to look at the dish and determine the taste? Prepare the dishes with fresh food this is ridiculous! I wanted to start the year off with FuFu but I refuse to force feed myself because your business wants money. Respect goes a long way and Im unaware of who craves stale old rock solid beef.
Worst African food I ever had! i ordered chicken and jollof rice meal and the chicken was hard and unseasoned. The jollof rice was mid at best. There was only one African lady in the kitchen as part of the staff at this place. All other staff were Latina...Laughable to say the least! Don't waste your money here.
