We were a large group with kids, and they managed to really take care of us; great service and great food- the biggest problem was trying to decide what to get when so much sounded good! We were all very happy with our selections, and the kids loved the amount of sprinkles that came with their Sundays- I appreciate they offer fruit cups as an alternative, too!

I had a great experience getting a tasty and nutritious meal with my Blackened Pesto Salmon meal & the delicious huckleberry lemonade (I chose to dilute the mix they gave me). Darius’ service was excellent as he helped me make sure I knew my options and that the kitchen knew exactly what I wanted including the preparation of the salmon to my liking. I’ll definitely be back with an appetite for their all-day breakfast items, especially their chicken & waffles. I also want to try other items on the menu. I also feel like I stepped into a portal and was dining in Montana near Glacier National Park.

Now this place knows breakfast! This place never really caught my attention up until my wife tried it with my Mother-in-law. She said that I would love it...an she was right! The middle of the woods style look is pretty nice. The menu is like reading on an old school newspaper. It was neat to see that. An the variety that they have to offer was pretty nice as well. Got to admit, I should try some places that don't look that convincing, because they might just be the next great spot. DEFINITELY coming back to this place!!

We stopped by the Humble location a little after 8 a.m. for breakfast, and from the moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be a great visit! The receptionist was super sweet and welcoming, and our hostess, Amy M. had the bubbliest, most positive energy — it really set the tone for the whole meal. And the food? So fresh and so good! Those eggs were the star — you could tell they were freshly cracked and not from a carton. My husband and I left full, happy, and already talking about when we’re coming back. Highly recommend this spot for good vibes and great food!

I finally had the chance to try this place out. Every time I wanted to, it would be super crowded with people waiting outside! We were seated promptly and our server was Christi! She was very nice and attentive to our table! We really did appreciate her honesty and opinion on what to try, with it being our first experience. Black Bear Diner doesn't owe me NOTHING! I'm completely satisfied. No, I'm more than satisfied with everything, starting with the customer service, especially from our beautiful waitress/server ASHLEY. She was so patient and friendly. I really like her. Employers wanting to train servers on how to offer GOLD STAR service should hire ASHLEY as a consultant/trainer. She's mastered it. Let me talk about the food. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much but apparently the cook who is named Cliff, has also mastered his craft. Everything was beautifully presented, piping hot, and delicious. Oh and the serving size is ridiculous!! So much food. My eyes and brain wanted to devour it all, but it was so much. Look at the pictures! If you haven't been to this location, plan on visiting soon. Don't eat or drink anything before you go because the portions are massive. Thanks Ashley and Cliff for making our celebration a blast. I'm so full and my heart is overjoyed.

This was an amazing dining experience, start to finish. Our Waiter Greg, was knowledgeable and personable. He provided a prompt service without being a lingerer. Food was wonderful, wife got the chicken avocado club, I got the bacon bleu burger. Food came out fast and hot, most importantly correct w/ changes. Proportion size was good for value. I was so surprised at the prices. It was 16.98 for coffee, two egg, 2 crisp bacon and 4 slices of French toast. The service was amazing. Tanya made me feel at home ! First time eating at Black Bear Diner, - EVERYTHING- was delicious!!! My brother and his wonderful wife took us out to eat for breakfast here and it didn't disappoint!! We're from Cleveland OH and no place compares to the cozy inviting atmosphere this place offers! My 7 year old loved his pancakes that were made to look like a bear. The service was what made the entire experience. We were lucky to have CeCe as our waitress and let me tell you, we could use a couple Cece's back home!! She kept our drinks filled and checked up regularly enough we never had to wait around. She has a very down to earth personality, and was kind enough to offer to take a picture of all of us for me. It's really important to recognize good people in the service industry because they help make the establishment and overall experience what it is. So thanks Cece we will be back and we'll make this a must stop everytime we come to visit!! Food and atmosphere earn the 5 stars in my book, but Cece is a 5 star server

We decided to explore how a diner looks like in the USA and we decided to visit the specific one. We were not disappointed at all. Amazing food with great portions in a very nice and welcoming environment. The waiter was amazing and very friendly with a constant smile in his face made the experience even better. I hope the rest of the branches offer similar service for people to be able to enjoy equal service level. Highly recommend it.

The food is always on point. Never had an issue and always generous servings. I'm hooked on their orange juice as it's fresh squeezed daily and so refreshing. Above all, the service and atmosphere are awesome. I usually eat here solo, but I never notice chic the staff is great. Bri has been my waitress more often than not, and she's so sweet, but all of them have been very engaging and attentive. Great place to eat with friends and family or just come solo. 👍

The vibe atmosphere was nice and the interior design of the building is very unique. We love breakfast and they have a big variety of selection. I got the Grizzly breakfast plate which I would definately recommend. My wife tried the breakfast with steak & eggs but we werent too satisfied with the steak but they satisfied us by changing the plate immeddiately to a Grizzly breakfast...kuddos for great service!!! I ate the whole thing lol (see pic) Our hashbrowns were not as good as before, kind of dry and needed salt. I ordered the meat lovers omelette. It was good loaded with bacon, sausage and thick pieces of ham. Omelettes are customizable so i added the french toast. It was very good. I usually order the large chicken fried steak, my favorite. The pot roast is great too. They also have the biggest bisquits you have to try them. Definitly worth a try if you have not yet.

This was my second or third visit to this BBD. Server was a nice guy, but didn’t check on us too often so refills were far between. Fish and Chips: I had the sweet potato fries substituting regular fries. They were left in the fryer maybe a few seconds too long, but they were still good. The fish itself was also good. It tastes better with cocktail sauce rather than the tarter sauce. You’ll need to ask for the cocktail sauce as they do not offer it in substitute at first. Also, I love dipping my sweet potato fries in honey mustard. But ALL BBDs do not seem to carry it. Shame. My daughter loves her Mini Bear Corn Dogs and fries.

My family brought me here for my birthday. Great food, nice service, but it took a good minute for our food to come out. A family of 6 got their food before us; a party of 3 and we ordered before them. So I had to knock down a star for that. But other then that, had a good time.

This was our second time visiting and the food was just as good as the 1st time. We tried the hobo omelette and the cinnamon roll french toast. The french toast has a very distinct flavor and doesn't even really need the syrup provided with it. Our only complaint is that this time they sat us at the bar. We were willing to wait for a booth, but they were really busy on this Sunday morning and just wanted to get us seated and fed. The bar area was very loud and chaotic (people yelling for runners and for status on an order) and kinda took away from our relaxing Sunday breakfast vibe. We'll definitely visit again, just hopefully not at the bar.

Food good value and came out fast but some of the items like the potatoes amd biscuits probably not as fresh as Dennys as it has less turnover and only one cook working. Service was great, fast and friendly Atmosphere was fine, a little quiet at the time we dined in , and had a few locals who gave us a bit of stare when we walked in cause I guess we didn't look like locals but staff made us feel welcomed. Restrooms need refresh as they look a little tired and old. Good option to try other than Dennys, Ihop or waffles house.

First time here and I must say I was pleased. It was not packed at all. We enjoyed our outting during such a difficult time. All the food was freshly made despite it only being one cook. The waitress was nice and attentive and friendly. Well done young lady! Everyone was pleased.

3rd time eating at Black Bear diner. We went today in Humble.The server was a sweet lady,food was good as always, huge menu to choose from.Breakfast to lunch and dinner options and the Pancakes are huge lol :) Nice dessert menu.The homade apple pie and cream based pies(coconut,chocolate and banana) are soo yummy and big enough for 2 to share.Go check them out!

I was really in the mood for a chicken fried steak but I was deeply disappointed. It was definitely the chicken fried steak that I would expect from a country restaurant. It was probably a frozen patty that was warmed up. And the potatoes were too lumpy for me. I like them creamy. My son liked his hamburger and French fries. The waitress was very friendly and this was a very clean restaurant.

I've been to other locations however this was my first time at this location. I was excited because they had mimosas!! Ordered what I normally get which is the veggie omelette with cheesy grits. I like American cheese on my grits but they made the omelette with it as well which gave it this unusual flavor. They did remake it however it had hair on it so I didn't eat it. The manager (I forgot his name)and our server Heather were so nice and apologized. The manager did offer to remake or get me something else but by then I didn't have an appetite for anything. I've worked in restaurants before so I will not hold this against them. Their food is soooo good. I will definitely go back.

Not impressed with the food. I had the Ruben with a side salad. Side salad was good. Did not care for the flavor of the sandwich. Service was decent, she was super friendly when we came in and attentive with our drinks.

We tried this location for the first time and we left disappointed. We waited at the front for a while waiting to be seated. Our server seemed annoyed to be working there and even had airpods on the entire time even when taking our order. We had to keep flagging him down for refills and for other things and the place was empty so it wasn't busy. The food was pretty okay it just wasn't to good with the service.

My mom loves this place so we went because of her recommendation. The bacon is good but other than that it's just slightly above what you would expect from a diner. The service was good, and the place was clean. Prices were reasonable.

Service was extremely slow. Didn't even come around to refill the coffee and had to ask for waters when the orange juice glasses sat empty. Then sat forever waiting for our check before we finally just got up and walked to the counter to pay and point to where we were sitting. Other Black Bear's are really good. I've just never had luck at this location. The food is wonderful though

I have very mixed reviews about this place. My husband and I have been there for breakfast twice, and it was amazing.The waitress Jai we had Our first time had a bubbly personality and was the sweetest little gal ever. She kept our coffee hot and full and was at our side in a moment's notice. That experience was a five out of five.Our second time there, it was my husband , myself,My sister in law and our son. My husband and I had lunch while my sister, in-law, and our son had breakfast again,Food was fantastic that day. Our third time was just my sister-in-law and I it took forever to get our food.Some of our food was cold. We also asked the waitress about the are.You can eat catfish if it was just Friday.Or Friday and Saturday she said come in on Saturday.It's all you can meet that day too.Which was not true.It's only on fridays. Our fourth visit was the next saturday with my husband, my sister in law and I found out we couldn't have the catfish, which is all we went there for. So we had to order different food. My husband and sister-in-law's Headwater loaded baked pit, took the server forever.Just to come and tell us that they had to bake fresh potatoes so that they would not give it to us and we would have to have their mashed potatoes instead. For my meal I got ribs which should have been hot but I couldn't even call them luke warm. There was too much barbecue sauce on it.It was overwhelming, and I ended up just taking all the sauce off and bringing it home for my dogs. If it was not for the two bad experiences, I wouldn't give in those five out of five, but right now, they're just batting a fifty fifty chance. So I would recommend breakfast but not dinner.

Let me start by saying that this particular location is my go to and my last review was a five star, however today was a total disappointment. We sat at the booth closest to the restroom ( I only state that cause I didn't get the servers name, she never introduced herself) server came over super rushed asking for our drink orders and right off the bat stated that my grandsons shake will take about 20 minutes since she's super busy. I said it wasa fine since it was pretty full. I asked for an orange guava juice but received a regular OJ. didn't complain cause I knew the server was flustered and didn't want to add to her stress. However when our food came out it was cold, grits were lumpy and hash browns soggy. Again didn't say anything because I knew it was going to take a long time to redo the order. I tried to get the servers attention to get an extra plate but she dismissed me saying she had an emergency and couldn't take care of me right now. She then walked off, then came back to grab her bag and proceeded to the restroom, about 5min later was talking on her phone and again walked off. When she finally came back asking if we needed anything I was ready to get to go boxes and leave but before I can answer her ( I had some toast in my mouth) she ran off again. By the rum my husband got her attention and asked for to go boxes she was so distracted she put the boxes on the wrong table to the incorrect guests. I know restaurants get busy ( having been a server and manager at one point) but this server really needs to do better. Maybe she should have a bit more training or be scheduled when there is less traffic until she can handle the workload. Just some suggestions.

When I arrived the man up front was really nice. Pulled out my chair for me and everything. Very great first impression. My server was pretty quiet, didn’t introduce herself but was quick with her work. Food took awhile to get to us and once it did I got this weird lettuce and orange peel on my plate. Didn’t really make sense but that’s their way of making the plate look pretty. Honestly not needed. French toast was hard to cut into, almost rock solid on the bottom but overall tasted great. What really got me was the restrooms. My son and I went to the bathroom and omg… restrooms really tell you how clean the place is. And theirs was… nasty. For a place that wasn’t really busy and they didn’t have time to clean the restrooms? Paper towels all over the place, a hole in the wall with black stuff all in the insulation and it’s right next to a baby changing station, filthy mirrors and rusted sanitary trash for women. Made me feel sick thinking about how their kitchen might look if the bathrooms are like that.

Had breakfast today ordered corned beef hash with eggs, grits and muffins my wife ordered biscuits and gravy very disappointing cause the only thing we recieved hot was the coffee. Won't be going back. Oh and the manager only asked if we needed to go containers.

TL;DR: Server rushed, didn’t listen, tried to charge for an unordered coffee, and gave attitude over a refill that was supposed to be free. Food requests weren’t followed, no real manager on duty, and overall service felt dismissive and insincere. Service was very disappointing. Our server, Tanya, often rushed off before we could finish speaking and didn’t listen to requests. Drinks were placed at the edge of the table instead of in front of us, and she even brought an extra coffee no one ordered—then tried to charge us for it. When I asked for a refill on my Strawberry Lemonade (which the menu clearly states comes with one free), she refused until I showed her the menu , then returned with an attitude and a glass full of ice. After asking for less ice, her frustration was so obvious that I didn’t even feel comfortable drinking it. She did ask if everything was “OK,” but it came across as empty and insincere. Food was also mishandled—scrambled eggs with cheese just had cheese tossed on top, and French toast requests weren’t followed. The manager on duty was just a line cook, which didn’t help much. I was really hoping they’d be available soon. Other tables got great service, but ours felt a bit rushed and not very welcoming.. Follow up: Hi, this is a follow-up regarding the email you requested I sent on August 23. It has now been over seven business days (not including the weekend), and I have not received any response. I would appreciate some type of follow-up if possible. Last Update: (September 10, 2025 12:37 PM ) The company has failed to respond to my email regarding my concerns. I am somewhat disappointed by this lack of communication, as it does not demonstrate a genuine care for my issues. The generic response (via goggle) provided does not address any of the staff members’ behavior and fails to hold them accountable. I’ve lowered my review to a one star ⭐️ .
