First time at Super Mex and it was one of the greatest Mexican Restaurants we have had, highly recommended and will definitely be back.

I have been coming to this super mex for the last 3 months now. Let me tell you I live walking distance to super mex in downtown and boyyy it’s terrible. Food quality is disgusting staff is lame and food is so so overpriced and it’s terrible. Then I went to the super mex in Belmont shore and it was the same. Now this one is on a whole another level!!! This is the world’s best super Mex with hot and perfect food. The wings are so damn good and there burritos is amazing. There food is worth the price as there quality they take pride in! I like going here. The service has always been pleasant and fast. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. I enjoy the music they play on the speakers. Food tastes great, and I think the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.

This Super Mex is just like all it's sister restaurants when it comes to food quality and prices, Great and Great. However, the customer service at this location is top notch. We were given a warm welcome as we walked in by the manager, who thanked us for choosing Super Mex while our server was very happy and pleasant. She even helped my daughter practice Spanish words. As we left, she gave us more drinks in to-go cups. Finally, the busboy clearing our dishes was friendly and bid us farewell. Go to Super Mex for great Mexican food. Go this Super Mex for amazing service.

First timer today. I was impressed with the cleanliness, friendliness, and speed of service. What really sealed the deal for me was their extensive selection of beer. Not many places offer the Corona Familar - that did it for me! The food was fresh, extremely hot, and delicious. Meeting the hospitalble co-owner Scott and Bob added to the wonderful exprience. Thanks again for the great service. l'll be back in 2 weeks!

Great brunch place! Good location, good patio, but there takeout is fast, efficient and good. Love the food here and does the trick when needing a fast, quick (but actual quality) Mexican food. Close proximity to our home makes it even better!

I liked everything about Super Mex. Parking was easy, the salsa with the chips was especially yummy, and my chili rellenos were some of the best anywhere. My companion's food also looked good, and everyone liked the cilantro rice. The atmosphere matched the prices. I will be returning.

I moved from Long Beach in 2012. I was visiting Disneyland and California Adventure for 2 days. I left California Adventure an hour early, drove my rental car to Super Mex, had a taco combo and ordered a burrito to go. I had to beg the TSA agent at Long Beach Airport to let my 4 oz salsa thru, and once I got home to Arizona and sat on my couch and ate my whole wheat chicken burrito I almost cried. It was 100% worth leaving Disney early for 😭

I enjoy the food never really have been disappointed. Service is good and they have a patio and dog friendly. Food is good and tasty. Their chicken salad is wonderful and filling. The super mex burrito, large and I always have leftovers to take home for next day meal.

Love this place!!! The food is always top notch.. But i'll tell ya, the chef was on fire this night!!! My mini shredded beef chimichungas had so much more flavor than usual, i did'nt think that was ever possible!! Sunday evening is the day to go.. Keep it up guys!!!

Delicious! My family has been enjoying SuperMex meals for over 20 years at various locations. We have never been disappointed. It's absolutely one of my favorite places to dine.

The service was outstanding they were very attentive. Just an FYI they do get packed and have a wait not bad about 20-30mins. The food was good, I kinda wish it was a Lil more authentic and spicier but it still definitely hit the spot. I Will be coming back here.

Great food, everything tasted fresh, fast friendly service and the patio was clean. We haven't dined out much since the pandemic so this was a treat. Everything was delicious and the same familiar taste from our favorite dishes. About 8 months ago, we visited the location in North Long Beach and the quality and flavor was way off- tasted like leftovers. This was definitely worth the drive!!

Not only was the food amazingly delicious but the staff was on point and FAST. My server Manuel M was far and beyond one of the best servers ive ever had the pleasure of being served by. My cup was never empty, offer to get me more of their delicious chips n salsa every time he found it empty, and I didn’t even have to wait for the check, my man had it ready to go on him the moment I asked for it. @super mex management, this man is a treasure for your buisiness and you better be paying him his worth!

This is the a great Mexican Restaurant. I have a friend that lives in the area and we go there about once a month. Fajitas are my favorite dish. The service is really great and very attentive. The cost is very reasonable for the amount of food

Outstanding customer service all around! My boyfriend and I are Vegan and went into this location asking questions about some of the food and what ingredients they had. The waitress in the front was kind and able to answer most of our questions and even the manager (I'm assuming from his attire) stepped in and helped us figure out a perfect dish that we could order that suited our lifestyle! They were so great! I highly recommend this Super Mex! Even the cooks helped by making our order PERFECT!

Best Mexican place in town! Tastes very authentic and matches the ambience. Generous portions at great pricing. Their burritos are so large we get to enjoy the next day! Love going here about once or twice a month for lunch.

This is one of my favorite places to go!!! Their crispy beef tacos are on point!!! We love to sit outside and service is always friendly, they make sure you have your chips and salsa immediately and even once you order your food comes out pretty quick!!! Their Carne Asada is amazing. I highly recommend that, or in a burrito. Two things are pretty expensive, and if you ask for extra meat, it's basically a couple of dollars less than the meal or burrito itself, which sucks. I've stopped going due to their prices.

Love this Super Mex! The atmosphere is great inside and out, the service is quick, and the food was delicious. I did order guacamole with my chips and it was chucks of avocado. Not the style of guacamole I like and it was a little bland. When I used a little salsa with it....it was much better. Guacamole should be able to stand on its own and not have to be mixed with something else to make it taste better. The rest of my food was awesome. My tamale with Spanish rice and beans was delicious. I will definitely come back here.

Came here while I was on vacation. This place was absolutely delicious. The chips, while a little strange having them whole to me, was still delicious. Despite being the only group outside on their patio, the waitstaff easily saw us and didn't forget we were there. As for the food, I had the shredded beef tacos and it was, as I mentioned prior, absolutely delicious. The tacos were flavorful and the rice and beans on the side were incredible. If I visit again, I will definitely return to this place.

All there is to say is, it’s SuperMex. As always, the food was unbelievable. I had the SuperMex shredded chicken burrito smothered in red sauce (full on ratatouille moment) and my table mates split a huge shredded beef tostada. I always come back and I fully advise you to do the same. If you want to see what my burrito looked like, come and order for yourself.

Great food and salsa. The tacos are amazing-including the chicken. Never dry, never bland. The burritos are next level, and large enough to have leftovers. I like to stick mine in the microwave and get it warm, then finish it off in the toaster oven. There is just something about the flavors deepening the next day. It’s a bit pricey-about $65 for three people, not including tip or drinks. Weekends are usually busy-so dine early. Take out is usually fast. Service is pretty good, even on a busy night. Warm tortilla chips to go with the homemade salsa.

The five stars is for the service. Ordered chicken flautas . Being half Mexican they were a no go. I have never seen flautas made this way. Overstuffed with flavorless chicken and Grilled??? Not fried ?? and where’s the sauce? Rice and beans , again flavorless. Guacamole was good.

Great food and great service! Servers wear mask AND shield. They are definitely adhering to COVID-19 guidelines. They have bamboo dividers between tables and an X on tables that need to stay empty to keep 6 feet distancing. They have umbrellas for shade. They have the scan printout to view the menu but for some reason ours didn't work so they provided a disposable paper menu. We will definitely return soon.

Stopped in for a quick lunch since I was in the area. I was super surprised at how amazing the crispy chicken tacos are! Fast service, it wasn't very busy, and the price was reasonable. I do recommend checking this place out.

I like Supermex because they have good food and deliver fast. The staff isn't the friendliest, but they aren't rude either. They have an outdoor patio with umbrellas. There's plenty of parking available. The portion of messy they have me was a little less than usual, but I didn't feel like eating a lot so it was ok. Typically I would have some to take home.

I went with my sister. I ordered the Taco plate. They are crispy and the meat is soooo juicy. I actually get this everytime I go. My sister got the Wet Beef Burrito. It was big she had to take half.

SuperMex has been at this location for decades. There is always a steady stream of patrons coming in. The tilapia plate has gone up in price due to inflation and other factors but its okay to splurge on yourself every now and then. The beautification projects occurring nearby is not stopping the regulars from coming by. If you're looking for a quaint morsel of Mexican cuisine with parking in North Long Beach, SuperMex is your place.

We were greeted with a smile when we walked into the restaurant. We got seated right away the service is really good in the restaurant was nice and clean the food was pretty good. my husband and I even started talking to another couple which made our night really good made it be nice and fun to be able to talk to somebody else besides just to each other which made it really and a good in a good ending to our movie night out.

There weren't many options, the nachos made my stomach upset. It was a nice place, maybe I need to try something else on their menu next time.

Very nice employees and typical Mexican food. My only complaint was that we made a special trip to this restaurant on Sunday Feb 3 2019. We got there 12 minutes before the advertised open time of 10:30. When it looked like they were not going to open on time we looked thru the window and saw the chairs still on the tables and there was nobody inside. Nothing was posted explaining why they were closed. Be nice if there was some kind of notice.

I really like Super Mex although I think that the food is expensive. The portions are huge which is great unless you order guacamole. You get basically a tiny portion. It's real guacamole which is good I don't like the chips they're too big if we break them up yourself I prefer other restaurant style chips instead. But again it's always really good and if you're hungry Super Mex is the place to go.

1st time here, ordered takeout and it was good. Ground beef burrito had way more ride than meat but was still good. They gave salsa & chips free which was nice too.

I really like it here, but its basic Mexican food and a lot of people are looking for more these days. By basic, I mean it is what Americans expect from a Mexican restaurant if you don't live in So Cal. Dos Equis Amber on tap and quick seating and serving at the bar are the main reasons I go. Oh, and I frequently stop in to buy a quart of their amazing salsa, which they make fresh daily (so it's always a little different each time...)

They have the best tacos! I love their chips and salsa too. I didnt give them 5 stars because they are very expensive. $5.50 for one taco is too much. I dont eat here as much as i would because of the prices.

Mexican food is the bomb, but there's good and there's really good. This particular Super Mex is just ok, not very authentic and mostly just ok fare. Now with that said, go to the Super Mex on Candlewood and get treated to much tastier authentic Mexican food.

First time coming here, and I was given good quality service. The staff here were friendly and asked if we needed anything. For an appetizer, I ordered chicken wings and it was cooked right. It was still hot, and had a good crunch to it. For an entree, I ordered a 2 cheese enchiladas, beef taco, and beans. The beef inside the taco was kinda oily.. The enchilada was tasty, and the beans were cooked nicely. I enjoyed my visit here.

Clearly a very popular place in town! I was surprised that they could accommodate our group of 8 in just 15 minutes! Service was quick but accurate. They have all the traditional offerings of a Mexican restaurant. Food was good and portions are generous.

The food was ok, taco Tuesday special. Service was slow even though not busy when we were there. Server was polite but we had to ask for everything like more salsa and limes ect. Waited again before she arrived with items. When it came to pay, again waited and we were the only people in the place.

It was decent. I loved their outdoor patio. Food wasn't as warm as I expected but our waitress was really nice. Music inside is a little loud and you have to talk over it.

Not as good as we hoped for.... The place was not crowded yet it seemed hard to get attentive service.. Had to keep asking the waitress for additional chips and salsa and refill on soda... One person in our group ordered a margarita which was very watery and had minimal kick to it.... Shrimp fajita plate was delivered with tortillas wadded up and wrapped in foil as opposed to Bringing Fresh Tortillas in a container... Maybe it was because they were closing and were coasting or something... We were finishing our drinks and just getting ready to sign the check when they abruptly turned off all of the televisions... That seemed rude too! We pretty much hopped up and walked out the door... We will stick to the Lakewood location in the future

The food is Ok. Not Great but Good enough.should Be Called an AMERICAN Mexican RESTRAUNT. NOT FOR ACTUAL LATINOS , UNLESS YOU CAN NOT EAT TRADITIONAL MEXICAN FOODS. But not authentic! It is designed more for the FAINTER PALLET, someone who does not or Cannot eat spicy foods. As for anything authentic there is the salsa, it is decent, although also not really spicy, but decent none the less. My BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT was that they, ( DO NOT MAKE ALBONDIGAS ).! EVER. Also, I was informed that They are not Affiliated with the Super Mex Chain. That Explains almost everything, but for the lack of authenticity!, That I don't know, & the lack of judgement not to make Albondigas or cater to the Namesakes, or Mexican population. Who knows? But the coffee is good ! Not top many selections!

Nice people and food. Plenty of parking. Clean inside. Only thing the salsa tasted like it came out of a bottle. Doesn’t have that fresh salsa taste. Also on our take out order the crispy corn tortilla was just tossed into the bag, not put in its own bag. This made things messy trying to fish out pieces of tortilla chips.

I had the tacos with rice and beans. The rice and beans were pretty fair and the tacos are your average beef taco. Too much average food at highly inflated prices. My wife got taquitos al la carte and not only can we make a better one at home but they only offer guacamole or sour cream period. You choose one or the other, but a traditional or at least what I'm used to comes with salsa , some form of crema or sour cream and cotija cheese. She recieved two taquitos with a fair dab of guacamole for like 8-9 bucks al la carte. This is cheap mexican street style food not upscale dining . I realize we are under inflation but I would take my buisness elsewhere if I'm going to pay their prices. You can find better food at one of these street vendors and eat at a near by park outside which is fine because the staff at the restaurant felt rigid and made us feel uncomfortable, anyways Bottom line,there is better stuff out there. I would rather buy a complete plate done well than see all these up charges to make a just average plate of food. Just another example of restaurant food quality going down but prices at the top of what they can charge.

Our large group of 8 was seated quickly, the food was as expected, basic but tasty Mexican food. We’ve eaten here for years but my low rate isn’t based on the food, but rather an incident that was brushed off and really should have been addressed by a manager. A dry burrito was delivered to a 6 yr old on a plate that was so excessively hot, even minutes after it was set down, that when he leaned forward to reach for his drink, his chin was badly burned when it touched the plate. It blistered immediately and the surrounding area was reddish purple. (Why such heat for a dry burrito??). We were using ice from a water glass and a wet napkin to relieve the pain but had to go ask for a bag of ice. Both our server and the person who got the ice bag knew what happened, but no one bothered to check on him or offer an apology, very disappointing

Food is decent however they are an independent franchise and the online menus are not accurate. Infact the website runs through every other store and if you click on the East LB store it takes you to a different location. The door dash option is the same where the menu items may not match what you receive...for instance I ordered the Mixed Fajitas...menus show steak, chicken and shrimp on the plate, got my order home and there was no shrimp. I called the store and they said "yeah we don't do shrimp on that"? The shrimp was the main reason I didn't just order the chicken, not to mention they charge $5 more? The place is close and quick but get your online presence in order please. If you aren't going to follow the corporate program then change your name, kind of seems like a bait and switch here?

The Spring location….Just made an order to go and requested on my combo to separate the taquitos from the rice and beans…I was told an extra charge of a $1.50! This store charges more than any other Supermex restaurant in the area with cutting back on their food volume compared to the other Supermex. Oh!!! FYI…online you can find their salsa recipe on YouTube extremely easy (four ingredients) and at a fraction of their cost.

I was just there for a takeout order. The guy before me asked for some more Salsa and the girl gave it to him. I got my order and asked for more Salsa and the girl said there was some in the bag, I asked for some more and she told me it cost more. What's really funny is if I was sitting at a table they would have brought it to me. So I guess either you need to sit down or be the lucky one at takeout..

It’s just a taco for heaven’s sake! I had an awful incidence with the manager about six years ago. After he argued with me and was absolutely intolerable, I said to myself, I would never patronize this establishment (Super Mex on Spring Street) ever again. In this case, the customer was correct and should have been compensated for poor service and poor food quality. But it didn’t happen! Now since time has passed, I decided to be the bigger person and give them another chance to see if they would be able to redeem themselves. Well, nope, not this time. I ordered a carne asada taco a la carte and wanted to change from the regular toppings to basic lettuce, tomatoes and cheese and a hard shell. When I picked up my order, I was told that as a courtesy, they went ahead and gave me the hard taco shell but in the future, I can’t ask for it, however, it needs to be soft. Whaaaat????? I was unbelievably taken back. As a customer ordering an “a la carte” taco, I should be able to order whichever type of shell I want - soft or hard. It’s not like they don’t prepare hard tacos. Once, again, there is something truly wrong with this restaurant in how they treat customers. I truly feel that they need to go through extensive customer service training 101. I’m so done with them! I’m not going to waste anymore of my energy on them!

Well, after asking about several items listed on the menu online, I finally got to the bottom of the matter that many of the menu items I was trying to order (street tacos, Mexican cellar salad) are not served at THIS Super Mex, because it is a franchise???? Not understanding how the menu is so different but has the brand that is known to carry those items. The meal was ok, but the chips and salsa ss usual were superb. The young man working the counter at the Pick Up counter was very pleasant and made the frustration about the lack of menu items a little easier to deal with. Overall disappointed so I will not be resisting this Super Mex in particular.

So let’s start with the food. Really good. Tasty as hell. Prices are reasonable and you get a lot. Why I wouldn’t recommend this place: I ordered one thing, got another. They asked me if I wanted another beer and I said no, and the dude comes out with another beer trying to guilt trip into getting a second. Food was fast, and hot, but why go somewhere when they aren’t listening? There are so many other good Mexican places in Long Beach, food may be good, but if the service sucks I’m out.

I was on hold for over 10 minutes trying to order a pick up. When I got here the restaurant was not crowded and I was told they always prioritize walk ins. I would have expected someone to take my order. The person taking my order was not at all understanding. I eat here all the time and was quite disappointed.

The food was decent. The flavor has improved at this location. It was really bland before... But the to-go employee service sucked. Cashier didn't have a friendly demeanor. When I got there, I realized I forgot to add a side of rice to my order so I added it when I got there. It's pre-made, no problem right? Nope. It took 25 minutes for that side all because the new girl helping get orders together and the cook near the pick up window we're flirting and he wouldn't give her the rice. They we're giggling and thought it was cute. "Can I just have a side of rice? Hehehe. " "What, this?" He holds up the container. "Sorry, I'm busy." (Insert cheesy grin here.) They both laugh and she still waits. Once again....nope! They we're kids, but still unprofessional and the rest of my food was cold by the time I got home. Booo, Super Mex. Boooo.

My daughter brought me an asada burrito from there yesterday February 2, 2023. As usual it was horrible and I had to throw it away after a few bites. I don't know why she keeps going there. I guess because it is close to home. Just sayin.

I had to drive 16 miles home turn around and drive 16 miles back and 16 miles back home... work in a area i dont always work in today...Order take out on my way home, I didn't feel the need to check the bag I felt see too the oder okay, You would assume she would have confirmed what she put in the bag. Check your orders before you leave. Not right at all when I had to drive 16 miles home turn around and drive 16 miles back and 16 miles back home. Have the dinner was cold in the long run.

I usually like this place maybe it's the location, but I ordered the same thing I always get. I guess they were closing soon, the cook had the nerve to sprinkle my rice with his hands onto my food. He had been touching his apron too. That's very gross and unsanitary. I won't come be here.

My Fiance and I was visiting California during the Thanksgiving holiday. Thanksgiving day we went on a hunt for places that were actually open. Google said this place was open so we placed and order for pick up but when we got there it was closed. We called requesting a refund and was offered store credit unfortunately that was our last day in California and we live 3000 miles away on the other side of the country so we had to decline and request the refund. We were told they would get back to us. It has now been over a month and we have reached out a handful of other time and continue to get the run around. We have still not gotten a refund.

Buyer beware I ordered 1 12oz beer in a can poured to a cold glass. Supermex charge $7, the problem is that my bill said pint which is 160z. I asked the server and he said thats correct for all beers. And I told him my beer was a 12oz can. Refused to fix it. I use the love Super Mex. Need to find a honest place to eat that know the difference between ounces and pint overed price beer wow

Food used to be good here but the quality has dropped dramatically. Even the salsa was spoiled the last time I visited. Smell your food before eating if visiting this place.

I ordered the shredded chicken tostada with guacamole, $15.50. The first thing I noticed was there an incredibly small amount of taco sauce. I mean about a teaspoon on top of a mountain of lettuce. The second thing I noticed was the smell of bagged lettuce. Overwhelmed with the smell of plastic bagged shredded lettuce. The third thing I noticed was an incredibly tiny amount of cheese. Every bite was holding my nose to avoid the horrible smell of low quality lettuce. Entirely ruined my meal. Will not recommend or go back. If you’re charging for premium quality, use (put a little taco sauce on the food!) and provide quality ingredients. Take it off the menu if you can’t provide quality at this price. Taco bell is better.

Over rated..if u order food to go they won't make sure ur taco isn't soggy...no flavor beans..dry rice..nachos are probably the best thing n sitting outside in the summer..I brought my fiancée yan here..he seem to like his 🌯 burrito..I still think there are better Mexican places...wahoos...healthy go there!! Skip this place

So my first experience I loved my chorizo burrito it took me back to when I was a child. I actually came back a second time and ordered three and they butchered it. I asked for added onions and jalapeños and their was barely any onions if any at all and one jalapeño and on top of that I shouldn’t be getting chorizo in every bite there was like one or two bites worth the rest is filled with rice and beans. I got played. Big disappointment and a lie to my face as a customer. Needs fixing. Please attend to this issue.

So I got it to go my order when did the taquitos only come two? Asked for extra sauce on my cheese enchilada there was barely any sauce and they put the beans in my cheese enchilada in the same container which barely held them because it was so tiny big rip off other places are serving bigger portions tastier the only thing that was good was my shredded beef taco. There was just so many other options I could’ve went to if I knew they were going to be small portions for the same price as he used to be if you’re gonna not have the same amount it should cost less so I really wish I would’ve went somewhere else and there’s 1 million other places that are with three taquitos still Less than them .
