We are regulars at the Manila Sunset in National City so when we visited family in LA, we saw that there is a Manila Sunset here as well. They actually have dishes that the NC branch didn't have like Kaldereta and Fried Chicken plate. Both were really good. We also ordered the Bibingka and Pancit Malabon which are Manila Sunset's specialties. Good to know that we have this branch to go to next time we visit family again.
The food that I miss, Manila Sunset serves! Our slice of Manila in the heart of LA. Great food, great people. Highly recommended especially to non-Pinoys! ❤️
First time at this place and the foods tasted authentic Filpino!!! Place is clean n looks new. Service was good ! I’ll e bringing my friends here!!!
The food is amazing. I love the combo plates variety and the fish dishes are the best and don’t forget the delicious halo halo.
Manila sunset has always been dependable! We’ve been coming here since the 1980’s! With their new location, its even better!
The many times I've been here, the cashier is very nice, Manila Sunset always serves great Filipino food, and the food selection in the menu gives a lot of options, and they're all affordable too! There isn't any wait either, you can just walk in and they're ready to take your order, take out or dine in. I'd really recommend going here, it's also got a very clean eating environment.
Manila Sunset serves THE BEST lechon kawali and lumpiang Shanghai. I drive from the valley to L.A. just to eat these! The kaldereta and BBQ pork served with atchara are also delicious . The sago and gulaman is not watered down and always has a lot of sago and gulaman unlike many places.
Congratulation, for new beautiful site magnificent spacious place to eat and people love your foods the best nobody can compete in cleanliness serving non stop long line due to free ample parking. You made everything possible good job in spite great enormous closures due to economic financial crisis, but you're on the rise of business growth in town. People patronized your best foods, hopefully to add more menus like pork, and chicken Mami soups we are more happy, nobody ever think to have for the prosperity of your champion cleanliness quality of good foods.
Manila Sunset is the best Filipino Restaurant we've ever eaten here in Los Angeles. Aside from their food, pricing is also reasonable. The place is also clean and food servers are very friendly.
The food off the bat looks really nice in the menus and in the imaging. The service is fast and reliable for new patrons to this place. And it’s pretty affordable to 10/10
The foods were tasty and cooked well!! Foods tasted authentic ! Service was good and friendly! Place looks like newly renovated and very clean!!
The staff at the restaurant were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service. The flavors are authentic, and the dishes are well-prepared, making it a satisfying place to enjoy a meal.
Bringing back the taste from home. Manila Sunset is the place to go to satisfy cravings for Filipino dishes. And they always have the famous bibingka. The best among bibingkas. Thank you Manila Sunset💌
Manila Sunset in Los Angeles serves delicious, authentic Filipino dishes like Pancit Malabon and Bibingka. Great flavors, generous portions, and friendly service make it a must-visit!
Tables are clean. Filipino food is great. Bathrooms clean. Counter staff was knowledgeable and helpful when ordering . Food was also served quickly.
We came to pass through Historic Filipinotown and wanted to try some Filipino food. We were very pleased how good the food was, very reasonably priced and nice dining experience. We'll be back again when we pass through.
This Filipino restaurant offers a spacious and inviting atmosphere with numerous clean tables. The ordering process is efficient and resembles a fast food establishment; however, the food quality pleasantly exceeded our expectations. Notable dishes included the Pork Sisig, grilled pork and chicken skewers, and Pancit Malabon, which were quite flavorful. The other dishes we sampled were also enjoyable. The desserts were delightful, with generously sized ice cream scoops that evoked a homemade quality, providing a refreshing finale to our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in experiencing authentic Filipino cuisine that is both reasonably priced and delicious.
The place is very huge with a lot of space to dine in. It looks very clean as well and easy to order. Been here a lot of time and the food is phenomenal. Price might be a little bit expensive if you compare it to php but it’s worth the crave.
This is our goto place when we don’t have time to cook for dinner. The portions are just right for us. The beef nilaga and the crispy tokwat baboy are our favorites. The halo halo? The bibingka? Are to die for. Prices per portion is just right. Servers are polite. Of course this is the most cleanest restroom in the whole filipino restaurants in the area. Job well done! Now, where’s my free bibingka? 😆😆
Every 2 weeks we’re here and food is always on point. Cravings satisfied each time we’re here. Friendly staffs and food always fresh made to order.
Combo plates are super worth it. Delicious food and fair price. Bbq skewers are also super good! Recommend!

Great experience. Deffinitely a home away from home.
1st time and the atmosphere is very friendly, clean and food is delicious.
They have the best Bibingka in town! So soft and delicious. The sweetness is just right and the amount of cheese is perfect. My family buys these in dozens, specially during the holidays. It's great as a gift for family and friends as well.
Top rating for Manila Sunset. Ordered the Lumpiang Shanghai to go. Was very delicious, especially with the sweet sauce this is included. The food is prepared and ready rapidly after ordering. I certainly look forward to being back there again soon.

This is a no frills Filipino restaurant. A step up from Toro Toro. They make the food fresh. The desserts are delicious. PRO TIP- order and take home the dessert.
For what it is…the food delivers. It’s pretty authentic Filipino food. I found it rather heavy and greasy, but that’s what it supposed to be. Fried chicken was quite good, and the pickles on the side were phenomenal. The pork belly was a little too heavy and fatty, but hey, that’s what it’s supposed to be. I will say, they took a while to get us our food. Seemed to be like a fast causal type restaurant but took about 20 minutes to get our food. Not sure if that’s typical, but if so, doesn’t make too much sense. Atmosphere is clean and tidy - no complaints. The potato noodle type thing was apparently their best selling, which was ok. Had almost kinda Indian curry spice type vibes to it. Threw me off a bit.
I waited in line for about 20 minutes before they even took my order but it was worth the wait! I was starving so it really hit the spot. The halo halo I ordered came out pretty quickly like ~5 mins and then the lumpia and pork skewer came about another 15-20 minutes later.. the lady who helped me said that they’re made to order!

Hands down best bibingka in LA so far! I even ordered to bring to Florida on my recent trip. I foil wrapped it individually and froze it before my trip, warmed it up in the microwave ate it the next morning and it was still very delicious!
Ordered to go, the lady taking the order was nice and polite. She clarified some questions I had about the menu without an attitude even though it was busy. The beef lumpia were good. The bibingka was decent. The only thing I really didn’t enjoy was the mabalon pancit, was expecting some chicharrón in there but none. Overall had a good experience and will return to try their Halo Halo.🍨

Food is good but… I purchased $40+tip and asked for a cup so I can fill it with water so I can take it to go. They wanted to charge me for the cup.
Food- It’s ok- if you are graving for Filipino food- but the cook hooefully can improved Not commercial taste but home cooking taste . Service- Slow Atmosphere- The entire store interior is like a Sesame Street. Who was the interior designer here? Terrie. .The wall on the counter are subway tiles ( big cut) - result- looks like a bathroom. 7/8/24 @ 4:10 pm - I ate here - 7 vacant tables are dirty - nowhere to seat. I had to ask the cashier to clean tables , and floor are dirty as well .They to cleaned the tray with the cloth that they used to clean the table. 🤮. Just buy to go. Staff never smile to the customer. Maybe they have A - maybe they got from the survey- but never practice cleanliness. Im wondering how the kitchen looks like.
It's my first time visiting Manila Sunset's new location in Koreatown. I came here for brunch after mass on a Sunday. The food is excellent as always, however, service was really slow and subpar that day. I ordered a Chicken Barbecue plate. It comes with 3 barbecue skewers, beef soup and 2 scoops of steamed rice. I also ordered a Sago't Gulaman on the side. The Sago't Gulaman came first, however I was not expecting to wait more than 30 minutes for my order. There were groups and orders that were placed after me, yet they got theirs first. I had to follow up at the front and assertively yet politely told the staff that I have been waiting for my food for more than 30 minutes. This is supposedly fast food. I understand there were high volume of orders ranging from party trays and individual orders, however the pace of orders must be systematized and balanced. Many establishments are able to handle orders efficiently despite the high volume of customers. Perhaps, I suggest issuing buzzers/pagers for customers' orders instead of relying on customer's names. When my order was finally ready, the staff apologized and gave me a complimentary dessert. I appreciate the complimentary item, but I'm optimistic that Manila Sunset's service will still improve after this mishap. The chicken barbecue is flavorful and grilled to perfection. The soup was a bit salty, but the beef chunks were tender. I will still return because I love your pancit and barbecue dishes.
Great spacious modern restaurant. The Staff can be hit or miss depending on their mood however the food is really good.
Relatively inexpensive OK filipino food popular with locals. Grilled squid was tasty but very chewy, and came with a way-to-salty bowl of beef broth. Arroz caldo was decent, but I've had better. Informal atmosphere, counter service, and paper / plastic serving dishes.
The guy behind the counter- Dino- is quite hostile, not the friendliest. Don’t frown on paying customers, Dino. Food is still great though.

The food was really good, I just have a small suggestion. For the lugaw, it might be better if the onion is cut smaller or used a little less, as the large pieces may not be suitable for those who don’t like onions.

The lines are long and it doesn't move. Speed up the service. Food is great but speed up the line service ASAP. There is no reason for this. Waiting 30 minutes to order with one cashier is cruel.
Your pancit malabon is poor, just because holiday lots of orders, and your not aware of the real authentic pancit malabon. Please be consistent when it regards to the taste.
We have always ordered Halo-halo here. Today, we ordered it. No ice cream. If you are out of ice cream, inform the buyer. We also gave tips. So we gave tips for free. Not for service.
Food is gross and definitely not fresh, place is dirty, rude employees and slow service. Will never go back and would never recommend
20 minutes it took to get my order taken another 40 minutes it took to get my food, food was just okay but really not worth it especially for the price and the wait. Parking lot is incredibly dirty, so many homeless people and trash, and if you go in the night there's a taco stand right in front of the building blasting smoke at you meanwhile this restaurant is also blowing out a lot of smoke so the area is just dirty and full of smoke it's so gross I'll never bring my family here again. 1/5 for atmosphere
Their bibingka and Pansit malabon are great. I dont see their online ordering, I had a hard time with phone order, the line is always busy. Updates 5/9/2025 I found out that that they are rude, they blocked your phone number. I called them to make an order then my husband interrupted me regarding what I'm ordering, I told him politely I'll call back to finalize the order. I try to call back many times but they blocked my number, I used my husband phone and they answer the phone, tried other number number and they answer it. Whoever you are, I dont want to post this review, but you are so RUDE to blocked customer number.
Employees were NOT welcoming. They are NOT friendly- awful customer service! Lumpia tastes like they were store bought and not home made. I will NOT be returning! I did not like the lumpia. I’m glad it’s the only food item I ordered. I will NEVER order here again!!!!!
Very poor customer service,, I felt as if they didn’t want to service me, and they basically packed my food like they just threw it in the bag. I don’t recommend this place.
Food is good not to spectacular Poor customer service. Very cold not engaged disconnected with customer. Atmosphere needs updating.
