Great place for brunch in DTLA. Friendly staff. You can order via a QR code, may be faster with limited staff but they are quick. Their French toast is yummy! I had the eggwich, really can’t go wrong with any plate.
Great atmosphere, option to order with QR menu fully loaded with pictures or with a server inside. Most of the seating is an indoor/outdoor combination (outside with a large roof). They have fire heaters to keep the area warm. Menu was decently priced for the area with big portions. Would not necessarily recommend their iced coffees, but their hot cappuccino was quite good. The food we had was delicious! About $18 per plate for most options, but portions are large (as pictured). Water had fresh mint leaves in it, which was a neat touch.
Nice and Cute Brunch Spot - You can place order thru your phone or also get a server to help you! Highly recommended the Florentine Eggs Benedict and Lavender Latte.
Delicious food, large portions, friendly staff, and a fantastic ambiance! Everything was fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back.
The food was good! Excellent customer services, the waitress was really friendly. What I like about this place is that you order your food online whenever you’re ready! You don’t waste your time or the waitress’. I'm really indecisive when ordering food so this system did help me out.
The food & service was amazing, the kitchen staff is the sweetest! cannot recommend enough!
This brunch restaurant is located at the plaza of the Spring Arcade Building. If your visit time is peak hour, you may have to wait in the queue for 30+ minutes, but I will say it’s totally worth it! We ordered French Toast, Carbonara, and Benedict. All of them are fantastic! Fresh toast comes with cherries and two kind of sauces. The taste of sauces really makes me feel that I am in paradise! With the sourness and sweetness of the cherries, it’s so lovely! The Benedict is also amazing! The yolk is fresh, and after you poke it with a folk then let the yolk be evenly distributed above the baked potatoes and salmon; I am sure you will love it!
I come frequently to this place for their crispy French toast and their blu jam sauce. The consistency of the food is why I come back. I also get the build my own open face omelet. Great proportions and the establishment is well ran.
When I say a mountain of food, I mean piled high! I couldn't finish it all. I had a craving for Huevos Rancheros found this place randomly - it did not disappoint! It's located in a small little covered gallery mall. Staff are adorable! It was very quiet (Wed afternoon) when I came so I'm sure the atmosphere is much busier at the weekend or you know for ACTUAL breakfast time but I didn't find anything negative so it's still 5 stars. Prices are fairly reasonable for LA especially for what you get. I've already recommended the place to local friends.
Visiting from the East Coast and searched for a breakfast spot. With the posts of the food and positive reviews, Blu Jam Cafe was the best choice. It is near plenty of parking, including valet. It was pretty busy. There is outside seating as well as inside. The set-up includes tables to accommodate different size parties. There is a podium at the entrance to be seated. We waited a few minutes before being seated. There is no wait staff, so you scan QR code to submit food order. We had about a 20 minute wait for the food, which was not bad considering what we ordered. While eating, a line of about 15 people started to form. Everything we ordered was delicious. The crunchy French toast was commonly ordered. It didn't disappoint. It was served with a creamy vanilla sauce, and paired well with the fruit topping. The Lox scramble was the best I had ever had. I chose mixed greens over potatoes, since I was also eating French toast. The Florentine was delicious as well as the side of fruit. It was cold, sweet, and fresh. The prices are reasonable. The staff is friendly. I'd definitely recommend and come back when in the area again.
The vibe was good , chill place to hangout and listen to good music. The singer that night was amazing. It took us awhile to order our drinks but it was packed so it's expected. Can't wait to go again!
Was looking for some live jazz and found out that’s Thursday only. Stayed for the live music anyway which was incredible!
Obsessed with this spot! The design is *so* on point, industrial chic but still super cozy, you know? The live music is always amazing, and the drinks? Perfection. Totally a DTLA must!
Great ambience, dim lighting, live music and 7.5/10 drinks. $5 cover on Friday. They had bunch of board games for free, Pool tables for $20/hr (cant prorate) hard to find a spot to sit was def pretty packed on 11pm on a Friday. Parking was $15 next door lot
January 17 2025. My wife and I are going on 23 years of marriage and just recently started playing pool together. So we had the opportunity to come to this great place. I got mad points for finding out this hidden diamond where the food was more than excellent the garlic mayonnaise was delicious.
Great place to enjoy jazz music in a speakeasy kind of location. Walking down the stairs from the main entrance literally transports you away from the craziness of downtown L.A. into a friendly and welcoming bar. There is something for everyone here. The drinks are great. Beer is fresh and cold on tap in addition to other alcoholic spirts if that is your flavor. The bar also host as a kitchen. Food is simple and taste great. Further down the bar you can be entertained with live music or converse with friends while relaxing at the multiple sofas and other seating areas. There are a few pool tables as well as board games to also pass the time. The layout of the place was great because the chill zones are separated from the bar. Recommend you call before hand to find out live entertainment for the night. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Super clear establishment.
Food: Flautas, Parmesan fries, Nachos Drinks: RRLA Signature Old Fashioned, Pear-ty like it's 1999, Palomita This underground bar, marked by a "Hayward Hotel" sign, is a hidden gem. The drinks are unique and delicious, and the food is solid for typical bar fare. They have live music, pool tables, and ping pong tables, which makes it a fun spot to hang out. The kitchen closes at 11pm, but they let you bring in outside food if you show up late. They have a $5 cover charge and you can pay with cash or card. If you're looking for a place with great drinks and a lively vibe, definitely check this place out.
It’s super fun! This is exactly the kind of bar I like and that’s why it gets 5 stars. I was there on a saturday evening. Not too crowded, easy to approach people, great live music, awesome selection of games, from pool, table tennis, fusball, board games and others. A downside is that sometimes you need to wait for a while before getting your turn to play. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back here.
We had our company party here this week and it was amazing! Located in the heart of downtown L.A. in the basement level of the historic Hayward Hotel. At 5,400 sq feet, this place is spacious with a beautiful bar and lots of seating. It has a dark, jazzy vibe that takes you back in time. There's also four billiards, three ping pong tables, two shuffle board tables, two foosball tables, two sets of darts and over 25 board games! As you can see, there's lots of entertainment to go with your libations. We all had a lot of fun!
The food was good. My problem was it wasn't hot, only warm. The potatoes were not crispy as advertised. The portions were plenty for me. I loved that I could eat outside of the cafe.
The food was pretty damn good! And the lady we had helping us how to order our food was nice too. Weird way to self order from the table. I couldn't really figure it out, but the cashier lady was more than happy to take my order in person. The drinks were really flavorful as well. The coffee was rich and robust. Love the fact that they do brunch on weekdays. Only reason I gave 4 stars was because the mimosa is pretty overpriced for the quantity. Other than that, great place to visit!
I like the location of this cafe. It has the feel of being in a train station. We sat outdoors. What I ordered was unremarkable. I had the breakfast pasta. My friend ordered the shakshuka. It looked a lot better. We shared some of the French toast. It was tasty. I think that maple syrup is a better side for it than the white sauce they give you.
Just be aware that once you get seated you got to order online via QR code on table once you’re at your table because there isn’t a waiter that will take your order. I didn’t know but my buddy told me after he got his food. Overall the food presentation is up there, I ordered the Power House with Egg whites, spinach and chicken(I’ve had other versions which were more flavorful but it did the job, chicken was tender and it was a descent size portion), side of chicken sausage(tasted good, but about average) & side of bacon(cooked perfectly and crispy). Definitely a great lunch spot but can get very very busy, lots of great restaurants/cafe’s on the row to visit also. ***Update*** Had their Chilequiles(delicious & recommend) and vanilla latte(amazing coffee!). Their Argentinian steak and eggs with hash is the best breakfast dish I’ve ever had.
Parking is a challenge. $5 entry fee. Music and vibes are great! Most bartenders are cool but caught a bit of attitude with a long haired Asian bartender over a debit card that I had just previously used for to buy a drink. Apparently, the previous bartender had no issue but he said that he couldn't process payment because it didn't have a chip. I explained to him that the previous bartender had no issue, his reply with attitude "The previous bartender made a mistake. I'm TELLING you that I need a card with a chip". I gave him another card and showed him the receipt of my previous payment and asked if I was previously charged correctly? He began to try and mumble his way out of it and then got a call on his cell, and just walked away...lol. Other than that, all is good.
I'm very glad this place exists, because I love pool and good music. My only real complaint here is the bar - I feel like half of the bartenders hate their lives and don't want to be there. Also, the drinks on the menu are premixed and very sweet, but when I order off menu the drinks have always been sweeter than almost any other bar. Otherwise, the pool tables are in good condition, they have lovely live music on weekends, and the vibes are always good with the patrons imo. They have food, but you should really just grab pizza or tacos next door. Pool tables are 20 an hour.
Really cool underground bar/night club with great live music. We had no expectations we came by this spot and we had a really good time. The food was good and the music was even better. Here are some thoughts: Environment At the time you arrive you are greeted by security who will check your IDs. There is a cover charge to get in. I believe it was $5 and they do take cards if you don't have cash. Once you're in walk down a flight of steps with really cool decor. It seems like there might not be much to the place but then it opens up into the establishment with booths straight ahead, a bar to your right and further into the space is more seating, pool tables, ping pong, and shuffleboard theres are a huge projector that doubles as a stage for live music. The ambiance is real dope, it gives us gringy, speakeasy vibes but busy and lively. We came on a good night where there was great live music. You order everything at the bar - food and drinks. You can grab your drinks and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. Overall pretty easy and even when it was busy it didn't take too long to order and get everything you needed. Overall pretty good experience and really enjoyed the vibes. If you're look for a lighter crowd i suggest getting their early. It looks like it may pretty lively as the night goes on. Service didn't really have much service. The security was cool and welcoming - no issues there and the bartenders were pretty quick and efficient even with a huge crowd. Food and drinks The food was pretty solid. We had the nachos, the burger and some fries. All were good. My colleague really enjoyed the nachos - I'm not sure if it's because she likes nachos a ton or if it was just that good. lol But overall the food is good enough to go back and solid to have again. Overall Really cool spot and good for live music and some solid food and if you want to play some games with friends. Also good for a quick drink before going out to dinner or enjoying the rest of your night. Loved the decor and the ambiance. Would go back.
The service was not great. I had to pull up the menu, order my own food, and pay & tip beforehand. The food was not warm, it was at room temperature. Our drinks were not cold, they were at room temperature.I had to get up and search for napkins. I'm not sure why I was required to tip since I was my own waitress. Nobody came over to check on us. On the flip side, the flavor of the food was outstanding! I'm giving them 3 stars because the food was delicious. The food is overpriced considering all of the above negative experiences. I spent $92.91 for three people; this includes the tip. Two burgers, one sandwich , two freshly squeezed orange juices, and a vanilla Frappuccino.
Food was ok, nothing special. Benedict was gross and was basically served vinegar hard boiled eggs! Self serve style, order at the kiosk or on your phone. Had zero interaction with staff other than being seated and someone bringing our food. Also, 1 item was missed from our order causing a delay. They insisted I didn't order and when I showed them receipt on my phone the food appeared shortly after. Weird experience.
Service is super attentive and friendly. You can scan the QR code to order or order with the staff. I wanted to change my order after ordering and they accommodated my request. Food is plentiful and looks great. Taste was average. The French toast was average. The jam was also average. It very sweet.
I wanted to try a new place. From the photos, I thought it would be great that it would be lively and filled with excitement. In truth, I was disappointed 😞. The front entrance was definitely cool; the colors and ambiance were intriguing, and most of the people were nice. Yet, we went on a late Thursday night, and the place was empty, lonely at times. Few were entertained, many just playing pool, no musical entertainment, and the only positive attribute was the bar area. I did find some attendees being rude, cutting the bar lines, the staff not controlling the flow well, and don't get me started on parking. You need to find a parking structure ! Come 30 min early for a parking spot. I was fortunate to get something 1 block away, and that was literally luck!. The entrance host was nice and cordial, the staff overall was great, and the decor was fine and alluring. But the food was subpar, drinks weren't potent, and the overly rude people I found were a bit too much. I rated this place a 2.75 to a 3. If there were more servers or músical entertainment venues ...possibly a higher score.
Came here with a friend for breakfast. Similar to what other reviews have mentioned there are no servers so you have to order from your phone which personally I don’t care for. I didn’t mind this because other reviews had mentioned how good the food was but unfortunately that wasn’t the case for me. We ordered the French toast and tofu scramble which were both very bland. Once we added some salt to the tofu scramble it tasted better. But the worst part was that all of our food came out cold. I did have the mocha latter which was great and the only saving grace in this experience. This is absolutely a one and done for me. Personally, this was not worth the money.
I really wish my experience here had gone differently. I stopped by today and ordered two mimosas and chicken tacos, but after taking one bite, I politely asked if I could exchange the tacos for something else. The staff member agreed with no hesitation, so I ordered a burger and very clearly asked for no toppings- just an egg with mustard on the side. When the burger came out, it included all the toppings I emphasized (several times!) that I did NOT want. I tried to get her attention but she signaled for the manager to come over to me instead. I calmly explained to the manager that my burger came out wrong and he didn’t seem to understand why this was a problem at first. He kept asking me, “What do you want me to do?” and “What happens if you don’t like this item instead? You can take the toppings off, right?” His tone towards me felt very cold rather than helpful, which caught me off guard because I was nothing but respectful and communicative. So I took the toppings off and still ate my food but once I was done, I spoke to him again about my experience. He kept bringing up that the café “lost money” by exchanging my food and repeatedly reminded me the burger was “free,” as if that meant my concern didn’t matter since they exchanged my food for me at no cost. At one point he said, “Make sure you tell them it was free!” even though I hadn’t mentioned speaking to anyone else or writing a review during our conversation. Hearing that made me feel uncomfortable and dismissed, because I was never trying to take advantage of anything — I simply wanted the replacement food I asked for prepared correctly. He also accused me of “yelling” one time, while I was truthfully speaking to him very calmly which is something that stuck because it made me feel misunderstood and somewhat singled out. It’s hard to describe, but the whole interaction left me feeling unwelcome in a way that honestly hurt. I don’t know if it was just a misunderstanding or something deeper, but it didn’t feel good as a customer. He explained afterward that they prefer online orders to avoid mistakes, which I understand — but that still doesn’t excuse how the situation was handled. I ordered with the QR code before i asked to exchange my food, I communicated clearly, and the error with the burger wasn’t mine. A simple acknowledgement and being treated with kindness would’ve meant a lot. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, blamed, and uncomfortable over something that could have been resolved kindly and professionally. I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but this experience genuinely made me feel out of place. I hope the café takes this feedback to heart, because no customer should walk away feeling the way I did. I hope future guests are treated with more understanding and care.
I visited my family and we decided to have breakfast here. Worst mistake ever. Parking sucks. Waiters don’t check on you. You have to order either over the phone or walk up to the front to order. If you even try to order with a waiter, they just ignore you. They never check on you. If you run out of water, they don’t notice. The older male waiter was especially rude. The only saving grace was the young woman with tattoos. She was so sweet. The food was crappy. It doesn’t come out all together yet it’s all cold somehow. Multiple items were missing or wrong from our order. Everything about this place was awful. I don’t understand how it has any positive reviews. There’s too many great places to eat in LA to settle for crap food and service. Attached are my leftovers: their supposedly popular French toast. It came out cold like it was just sitting around with no powdered sugar. They didn’t even give me butter when I asked. Just ignored me
